EMD upload error

Hello all,
I don't have an Enterprise Manager GRID CONTROL, but the Enterprise Manager which comes up with the Oracle Database 11g.
My problem is that when i sign in on Enterprise Manager page ( https://localhost:5500/em/console/logon/logon ), i don't see that green up arrow that status is UP (and also those charts), but status: Agent unreachable: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/846/21442127.jpg/
I tried to do what is specified in the Metalink(also here: http://blog.contractoracle.com/2009/05/emd-upload-error-upload-was-successful.html ), but the problem persists. And that metalink note (317242.1) applies to EM Grid Control. So i don't have a Grid Control.
I tried to stop dbconsole, then start it and then start upload agent ( emctl upload agent), but i got:

Ok, how to release space on the disk? What exactly means this? I have enough space on my D partition, where the Oracle product is.
Please help, i want to see the EM page like this: http://oracleflash.com/22/Add-ASM-Instance-into-Enterprise-Manager.html
Thanks!

Hi,
According to your agent status output you only have 0.13% of disk free. You need to delete some files to clear the space.
Available disk space on upload filesystem : 0.13%
There is a file called emd.properties (on UNIX) that has the following section in it. You can modify UploadMaxDiskUsedPct to bypass the space restriction, but the default is 98% and in your case, you would have to change it to 100% to work, which is probably not a good idea.
# The maximum amount (%) of disk space that can be used on the EMD filesystem
# before the following is disabled:
# - Collection of data (upload manager)
# - Logging and tracing
# - Diagnosability traces
#@description=
#@valueType=Int
#@LOV=
#@default=98
UploadMaxDiskUsedPct=98

  • "The Agent of this Target is Unreachable" & EMD Upload Error

    Hi There,
I've been working on this problem for three days now and I'm stuck! Ok so here's the issues:
I am monitoring two SQL Server via Enterprise Manager (Oracle Grid). Both worked for months, however, once the server that the SQL Servers were installed on was reboot they both were showing up "The Agent of this Target is Unreachable" in the Grid console. However, after I started and stopped the agent on the development SQL Server server it showed up in the GRID. However, the pre-production does still not show up after I start and stopped the agent on the pre-production server. When I tried to upload the agent on the pre-production server it gives the following error:
EMD Upload Error: Upload was successful but the collection is disabled - disk full
I deleted the access_log files and I don't see a space problem. I secured the agent. I resysnced the agent ....
FYI the Grid is on a unix machine and the SQL servers are on a windows server.
    Please help!
    J

I am monitoring two SQL Server via Enterprise Manager as in Microsoft's SQL Server?

  • EMD upload error: upload XML Files skipped

    Hi,
Problem with an agent to upload data in Grid. Any ideas about it ?
    Thank you so much.

Check the status of the agent with emctl status agent and refer to the troubleshooting section of the Installation and Basic configuration manual Part V Appendix A.
You are looking for things such as : Has the Agent been registered in the repository. Last successful heartbeat to the OMS (Is it talking to it?) Have any of the XML files been uploaded?
If you have a secure OMS, then it may be as simple as just registering the target via emctl secure agent <password>

  • Agent Upload error:  ERROR-400|ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value ...

Periodically receiving the following error on our Grid Control machine:
    [oracle@lugc01 agent10g]$ ./bin/emctl upload agent
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 4 Grid Control 10.2.0.4.0.

EMD upload error: Failed to upload file B0000021.xml: HTTP error.
Response received: ERROR-400|ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
This is the agent that is on the host that runs Grid Control. GC Seems to be running fine, but the agent has this problem quite regularly. This also seems to happen on other linux 10.2.0.4 agents as well.
To remedy it, I go in and remove the upload data in $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd/upload and then restart the agent. I don't like doing this.
    Any ideas?

    Hi
The error display is very strong. The mean is that the agent try upload a file to the OMS and when the OMS Server go to insert the data in a SYSMAN Table , the value is of a LONG COLUMN and the table not have this type of column.
    Please provide me:
    - When the error appear , take the xml file and send me
    - Run this comand in the agent:
    emctl config agent listtargets
If i have the xml file, i can try to solve the problem

"java.io.IOException [Failed to open agent server wallet]"
i think there is a problem with the secure of the Agent<->OMS.
    go to $agent_home/agent_inst/
    execute ./emctl unsecure agent
    after this
execute ./emctl secure agent (insert the OMS Secure PW by prompt for PW)
    now the agent must work.

  • Upload Error message: HTTPS protocol is not supported

    Hi,
Whenever I do a quick par upload i'm getting an 'Operation failed' message to check sap-plugin.log.
       Log says
Upload Error message: HTTPS protocol is not supported, please ensure this server is not using HTTPS. My webdynpro applications are getting deployed without any issues.
         How to resolve this?
    Thanks
    Sumathi

    Hi Sumathi,
As there are often problems with the Quick PAR Upload reported, I would suggest to use the "normal" PAR upload from the icon tray (you have to activate the portal icons in the icon tray). That is almost that "quick" (one or two clicks more needed, we don't talk about more than a second) and - it works (it least it should, and at least it works in most cases even if the Quick PAR Upload fails).
    Hope it helps

  • Image / file upload error         cannot upload image even after setting write permissions

    Hi there everyone
I am having this problem when I try to upload a file (image file) to my server
I have a dynamic for working fine , all the other fields insert the information ok then I try to add an image upload behaviour to a file field
When I try to upload the file I get this error
    Error:
An error occurred while inserting the records.
File upload error: File upload error. Error creating folder..

So I login to my server and change the write permissions to 777 and then try again and get the same message
I have closed DW and tried again and still get the same message......
I think I have followed all the steps correctly..... I have done the same type of forms many time and tested them locally on WAMP testing server and all work ok......
    So..... Anyone got any ideas
    Any help would be great

My backend is only for admin, so they are the only ones who can access the
upload pages. My concern is an images folder on the site being 777. Can't
anyone from the outside plant a file in that folder if they just know where
to find it using an ftp program? ?

could be because I used "emctl start agent" , which are not allowed command for DBconsole. The correct one is "emctl start dbconsole"

  • Upload Error: Missing Application Descriptor File

    Hi,
I keep getting an error when trying to upload my AIR 2.5 app, specifically, "missing application descriptor file".  I've double checked the proper XML format for 2.5, as well as checking its location by changing AIR extension to ZIP, etc.  The application.xml file is in the proper format and location.
Any clues as to why this upload error is occurring?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
When uploading an application, the validation looks for the file "META-INF/AIR/application.xml". Is this where your application descriptor resides?
If your problem persists, we can help troubleshoot if you provide us with your AIR application.
    Thanks,

  • "Voice Message Upload Error" - creating a personal...

    HI Again!
    Just a note to ask if anyone at Skype can help with a tech issues. Just set up my shiny new number ( which isn't working yet!!) and then tried to set up Voicemail. Sometime I can record a VM but not play it back or save it and I'm getting messages like;
"Voice Message Upload Error" and "Voice Message Playback Error"
Seems Skype and I have got off on a bad start!!!!!!! Help appreciated and I've been trying this for an hour and no luck at all!
    Thanks
    Sarah

I had the exact same problem, and I was looking for help, but couldn't find any.
It was very frustrating not being able to record a personalized voicemail greeting because the default greeting sounds very unfriendly. (A stern sounding woman declares: "The party you are trying to reach is NOT available!") It doesn't even tell callers what number they reached so they might be left wondering if they reached the right number.
Anyway...I hit on an idea and tried it out, and it worked!
One of the buttons has two sets of arrows going round and round. That's the button to reset the voicemail to the default greeting. You wouldn't think to click that to record a personalized greeting, but I went ahead and clicked that button, and it asked me if I was sure I wanted to reset it to the default greeting. On a hunch, I selected the option for yes. After I did that, suddenly I was able to record a voicemail greeting! (Press the red circle to record, press it again to stop the recording, and press the green arrow to play it back and see how it sounds.)
I hope this helps someone out there.
