Emergency call only mode, how to get out?

I was downloading the Samsung Kies app and then my phone went into Emergency call only mode. I have tried power down, take the battery out, reboot and recover mode and it comes back to the same, emergency call only mode. What do I do?

I also had this problem recently and did search on Google and found this very nice guide to handle a no service or emergency calls only issue. Hope this will help you too or other people who will have the same problem. Here is the link for that.

iphone 5 says phone disabled connect to itunes. when you connect it itunes says to acknowledge so itunes can help. phone says disabled emergency calls only. how can i fix this?

have you tried restarting it via holding down the Home and Lock buttons if that wont work then i suggest making an appointment with the closest Apple store

Upgraded to 2.0, and now it's stuck in emergency call only mode...help!

So, I bought a 3g, and figured I'd use my iphone as an ipod, or maybe sell it.
So I made the mistake of upgrading to 2.0, and since I have the 3g, it has locked my original iphone.
I'd go back and do a restore of 1.1.4, but when I go to itunes, it will only let me get to the Activate screen...and go NO further.

Tried that as well. Found a website talking about the exact problem I've run in to. Sounds like I'm SOL unless I wait for a jailbreak or something (which is something I don't want to do).

Thanks for the info! Are you able to unlock the device at all to access the settings menu? Do you have the Family Base feature active on your account? Do you recall how the device entered the Emergency call only mode?

Z30 Emergency Calls Only

Hi,
I have been using Z30 for about 3 months and it was fine until sunday. I made a call on sunday night before going to bed. When I wake up in the morning, to my surprise, i see the phone was switched to EMERGENCY CALLS mode. I swapped SIM, toggled airplane and Mobile Network. Even I tried the Network Selection mode to manual/automatic. Everything went unsuccessful.
I can use the same SIM in the other phone.
Please advise how the EMERGENCY CALLS only mode can be changed.
One more thing, 2 days before the phone OS was updated to 10.3.1.1767.

Can you try: Turn on Airplane mode --> Reset Phone (using either method I said earlier) --> Turn off airplane mode and check if signal is back ?
Also a couple of other quick questions. When you put network settings to "manual", does it show a list of available networks ?
Can you also tell me the Radio Version you have from: Settings --> About --> OS (from dropdown) ? Is it 10.3.1.2559 (just want to see if it same as my phone)

I am overseas on business trip. I was able to text and received text for about 10 hours on landing. I had the global roaming activated before leaving US. If you set the phone to erase on 10 failed passcodes - then just keep typing and it will wipe itself.
Otherwise I believe you can set it to recovery mode and restore etc.. via iTunes... There is no easy way as the passcode is designed to protect the phone exactly against what you are trying to do now...

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...
