EMERGENCY!!! HAVE A SUNDAY DEADLINE AND IMOVIE IS DRIVING ME NUTS-HELP!
OK HERE IS THE DEAL..I USE IMOIVE FOR MY BUSINESS CREATING DVD'S FOR BUSINESS AND VIDEO SCRAPBOOKING...I HAD 6.0.3 AND JUST DUMPED IT TO REINSTALL IT TO TRY TO CORRECT A GLITCH.
ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT I HAVE TO GO BACK ALL THE WAY TO 6.0 BECAUSE O1 THRU 03 ARE UPDATES! THE PROBLEM IS THAT I WENT TO APPLE AND THEY ONLY HAVE 6.0.2 AND 3 AND NOT 6.0 OR 6.01 TO COMPLETE THE SERIES OF DOWNLOADS.
I ALSO FOUND 6.0.4 THAT THEY CAME OUT WITH FOR THE ****** OFF 08 USERS BUT I INSTALLED IT AND IT DID NOT CORRET MY PROBLEM..
WHICH LEADS ME TO THE ORIGINAL ISSUE...
I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH A GLITCH THAT OCCURS WHEN LOADING PHOTOS INTO 6.0.3 THAT CAUSES THEM TO DISTORT EVEN BEFORE PUTTING IN TRANSITIONS (EXAMPLE --- PUT IN A WEDDING PHOTO OF A BRIDE AND IT LOOKS LIKE SHE HAS A BLACK EYE AND A FAT LIP!)
I THOUGHT IT WAS A TRANSITION ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN YOU PLAY IT BACK WITH TRANSITIONS THE MOVIE WOULD START WITH THE PHOTO LOOKING OK THEN JERK DISTORT IT AND THEN JERT AGAIN AND BE OK RIGHT BEFORE THE NEXT TRANSITION.. THAT IS UNTILL I SAW THE PHOTOS LOADED INTO 6.0.4 RIGHT AFTER DOWNLOADING IT...
SORRY TO BE LONG WINDED BUT MY QUESTIONS ARE THESE...
1 HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM

2 IF 6.0.4 IS NOT GOING TO WORK WHERE CAN I FIND THE ORIGINAL 6.0 AND 6.0.1 TO COMPLETE THE SERIES OF DOWNLOADS TO PUT 6.0.3 BACK ON MY COMPUTER TO SEE IF THAT WORKS

iMovie 6.0.4 is supposed to be exactly the same as 6.0.3. Apple released it under the .4 number for download for those who purchased iLife08 and did not have any previous version of iMovie 6 on their computers.
Have you tried deleting iMovie's preference file? Go: Home(YourUserName)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.imovie.plist
With iMovie closed, locate and drag this plist file to the trash. Reopen iMovie and see if it works properly.
If you think the problem might be with iPhoto, you can trash its plist as well: com.apple.iphoto.plist
To reinstall iMovie 6.0.3, you need to locate your original iLife 6 disks and use those to reinstall. If iLife 6 came preinstalled on your computer, you should find it on the software restore disk. You may need to download and use Pacifier to extract and reinstall iMovie 6.
The combo 6.0.2 update (available on Apple's support site) will update from 6.0 to 6.0.1.

Just updated my iPhone 4 from IOS 6.1.3 to 7.1.2, I know I am behind the times, but I got there eventually! All seems well but I have one specific problem and hope someone can offer a helpful suggestion.
On opening the app "Find my iPhone" I add my password and sign in, to be greeted with a screen that says;
"Update Find My iPhone. A new version of Find My iPhone is available from the App. Store. You must install the update to continue using the app. Update now"
On hitting the "Update now" button I'm taken to the relevant page on the App Store, to be told that I cannot update as it needs IOS8 to be able to continue and as my iPhone is only a 4 cannot install IOS8.
I'm left going around in circles. The only thing would be to delete the app, but looks like I could not re-install the version I would need. Any body have any thoughts or suggestions? (Apart from updating my phone, I have a few months left on the contract!)

I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!

i am not getting notification on most of my apps, e.g twitter and facebook...except i go to the app and refreshed manually. its an iphone 4 and running on ios5...i have gone through everything and its still the same..help please........
I seem to be having the same problem on my brand new iPhone 4S. Everything was working fine on the phone until I updated to iOS 5.1.1, but now I no longer receive push notifications for the native Mail app, Instagram, or the Facebook app. I still seem to be receiving SMS texts and iMessages via push, but the aforementioned apps need to be opened before I can receive missed notifications (having them open in the background seems to make no difference).

I have a song that I purchased from Itunes on my Iphone and there was an error downloading. Every time i try to download it times out and says to try again. I have tried several times and still get same message. Help? I have been charged for this song but have not been able to download.

Hi everyone. I am trying to download ML on my iMac and when I click the download button, I am asked for my PW which I provide and then the ML icon launches in launchpad but nothing takes place. Have been trying for 2 days and this is driving me nuts. Help
Yes it does and there is an indication that the software is downloading but after a few hours, it just stops without any error message. Everything simply disappears and I need to start over again. I have a superfast connection so it should no be this slow. Everything worked fine on my MBP and I am in the same place. Any ideas

What makes you think I can't use my phone in another country or with another sim. You obviously can't, but we are hardly going to talk about hacking an Apple phone on the Apple site. By the way mine is officially unlocked so can swap sims within seconds.

Generally speaking, the iPad backup process is a disaster recovery process, not an archive process. Typically, when creating a new backup, the old one is erased.
If you go to iTunes' Preferences (under the leftmost heading in iTunes' menu on your computer) and then choose "Devices", do you see the specific backup you want to restore listed there? If so, you can restore it. If not, I don't believe you can. -

You may want to try this.
Solution A
Start up your MBP while pressing Option (alt)|, Command, P, R until your hear 3 chimes rather than 2 as indicated by apple. This worked for me the first time.
Solution B
Start your MBP while pressing Option (alt), Command, S
Hold until you see the computer automatic routine. When it finally stops type the following followed by "return":
fsck -fy
It will probably indicate some problem related to "pcscd.pub" (should be 16 instead of 17). I haven't figured out what this means but somewhere in the Internet i read it is related to scan cards...
More importantly this routine will fix any problems with your HDD similarily to disk repair. When it ends, it will tell you if it has fixed/modified anything. If it has, run the routine again by typing again "fsck -fy"
Lastly, reboot by typing "reboot" (followed by "return")
Solution C
Start up your MBP while pressing option (alt), command, S
hold keys until you see computer commands scrolling
when the routine stops type the following, each line followed by the "return" key:
mount -uw /
chmod 775 /
chmod 1775 /
reboot
After which your computer should reboot on it's own.
Each of the above has worked for me at one time or another. Once your computer has rebooted from the DVD you can reinstall OS X. If your problems started after installing 10.5.6, then I don't suggest updating until 10.5.5.
I'm very very disappointed with my 2007 MBP, it started to give me problems after 1 year. had to change the HDD and lately when I isntalled 10.5.6 it suddenly refused to start up., My previous Mac laptop (2003 866Mhz) worked for 4 years without a hitch. Ironically I've had to use it to access the internet and find solutions for my current MBP.

I have two icloud accounts and I want to delete one and have the one across all my devices, however, I have tried a number of times, I have deauthorised all my computers on the old icloud/apple account, yet every time I log back onto my main compputer, the old account comes up. I have tried everything, any help would be appreciated....
CheersYou can't delete an iCloud account. You can, however, sign out of that account and just stop using it. Then sign in to your second account on all devices account.

Thanks for the reply, The files are on a DVD disk. I coverted my family VHS tapes to digital dvds using an HP Media Centre PC five or more years ago cant remember the program but if I get info on the disk ,on the Mac it tells me the extension is IDI_DVD.

I have updated my iPad and lost everything because my only option on iTunes was to update and restore. The update was very strange because I pressed install, I had enough space for the update and I agreed to the terms and conditions. My iPad turned to a black page with a picture of connecting to iTunes, I couldn't get it off my screen even when I plugged it into iTunes. to update and restore my iPad was my only option and if I plugged my iPad out my screen would still say plug into iTunes. I haven't backed up my iPad for a few months but I need the most recent stuff on my iPad. I need my iPad for school. How do I fix this? And can Apple do anything to get it back? You should be able to see all your Purchased Music in your iTunes Account and you can download that Music to your iPhone during a Sync. First step look under Purchases in iTunes.
