Emergency!! Microsoft word help please.

Ok I have a paper due on Monday for my English class, however whenever I open Microsoft word it just freezes on me and I keep having to force quite. Is there a way I can fix this? I have already sent a message to report the error, but I don't know if they will get it fixed before Monday. Please help.
And thank you for your time!!
P.S. it is Microsoft word 2004 and excel and powerpoint work just fine.

Altrnatively you could try opening your Word docs in Pages, if you have it, or a trial version of pages. I've done this in the past when caught out with Word not working.
You can also export to Word format from Pages so that when you get Word working again you can continue using it for your college/uni projects.
Good luck with the paper you are writing!

    Hi,
Check if PDF document has renderable text. Go to Tools -> Text Recognition -> In This File.
Then you should be able to copy the text from PDF.

  • Microsoft word help

hi, Ive never had a problem with my macbook yet but i installed microsoft word about a month ago and now it seem to stop working, i used it this week(on monday) but now it wont seem to open. it just bounces and i tried to open up the other application (powerpoint, excel, etc) and they bounce twice and then nothing happens. any help? what shall i do since i need it for school.

You should also try to update your permissions, this is advisable at least once a month. To do it properly it is advisable to reboot your laptop at the end, so finish any pending work before you try it so you can reboot your laptop afterwards.
    To repair permissions, go to
    Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility
Then on the left margin, select your Macbook's hard drive (where you have OS X and Word installed).
At the right hand bottom of the screen you should have a couple of buttons and one should be repair permissions. Press it.
When it finishes, restart your computer. You are done!

  • Converting PDF to Microsoft Word - HELP!

I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional, and have been unable to
successfully convert PDF documents into Microsoft Word documents. I
usually get the following message: "Save as failed to process this
    document. No document was created."
After restoring the setting preferences to their default
status, I was able to save the document into Word. However, it was
not a true Word document, since I COULD NOT EDIT IT. This has been
    extremely frustrating.
Wondering if anybody has any advice.
    Thanks.

    Hi solarpowerprincess,
Are you having trouble signing in to your subscription, or having trouble converting files once you're signed in. If you can't sign in, it could be that your subscription just hasn't finished processing yet. Please let us know if you're unable to sign in and we'll go from there.

  • Photoshop Images Appear Darker Online and in Microsoft Paint ---- Help Please!

Hello, I have been losing my mind over this problem: Whenever I save images in Photoshop CS6, they appear darker and with more contrast online. I am using Windows 7 OS and have calibrated the monitor to the best of my abilities
NOTE: My Proof Setup is set at sRGB and my Color Settings are set at sRGB aswell. I Convert Images to the sRGB profile, and when I Save For Web & Devices, I make sure JPEG, optimized, and convert to sRGB are selected. My Preview is set for Internet Standard (sRGB).
The images look good in Photoshop and in Windows Photo Viewer, but when I upload them to the internet, they look very dark and hard on the eyes. They look like this when I check them on a Mac. Another weird thing is that when I open the same images in Microsoft Paint, they appear dark aswell, whereas those images looked good in Windows Photo Viewer and Photoshop.
    Help would be much appreciated!

What version of Aperture are you using on your Tiger system?
I don't believe gamma settings changed from Tiger to Leopard (gamma 1.8) but they did change going to Snow Leopard (gamma 2.2). Since you're on Tiger, gamma may not be the reason for the difference, but it sounds plausible that you may have some settings using a different gamma in Tiger than on Leopard.

  • IPod 4th Generation 40 Gig no longer syncs Microsoft Contacts - Help please

I have recently upgraded my iTunes and ipod software to version and 3.1.1 respectively.
Since the upgrade I have not been able to synchronise my contacts from Microsoft Outlook XP despite this functionality being available and working before the upgrade.
I have selected both the "sync calendar" and the "sync contacts" option from within iTunes however the contacts are not copying across.
Does anyone know if this is a known bug or how to resolve this as this is where I access all my customer details when travelling?
    Thanks

What exactly happened when you tried to restore the iPod? Restore from backup?
Have you went to Settings>General>reset>Reset all settings?
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • Unlocking Microsoft Word documents

Some Microsoft Word files have become locked and I can't work out how to unlock them so that they can be trashed.
They were files I emailed myself from work (the originals long since deleted with the old work computers) and Microsoft Word help doesn't.
Is there anyway to override the lock and delete them? I now have countless copies in my trash, as well as the original locked documents on my desktop. They're breeding…
    Any advice appreciated.

I would just like to add...thanks. I have been trying to remove an old locked word doc for months, it was sat on my desk top making it look untidy, and I just couldnt work out how to get rid of it.
    You are a star.
    Cheers.

  • My pages is showing error while opening a document in microsoft word format. Please help

While trying to open documents in microsoft word format, pages is showing an error. It is unable to complete the task and is requesting me to reopen pages but then no response. However I am able to work on pages format. Please help.
    thanks

When you open a Word document in Pages, it is translated into the internal .pages document format — and you are no longer working in the original Word document format. This translation also occurs in reverse when exporting a document back to Word. When you open a Word document in Pages, if it has issues with the translation (missing font characteristics, other issues), it will open a warning dialog box and display these issues for you.
If however, you prefer to always work in the native Word document format, and not risk translation issues, then you should be using MS Word in Office for Mac 2011 with the latest update.

Word can't open or does it open but you can't open documentts?
If you have Office does Excell or Power Point open? If they do you can perhaps check for updates with either of them: Help > Check for Updates. You can also try to reinstall Office with your installation disks. Don't delete Office, just try to install it again.

  • ***Microsoft Word 2008 Question*** PLEASE HELP

you know the spell-check feature in Word08? How do I change to spell-check language?

    Hi There
In the Microsoft Word Preferences select "Spelling and Grammar" then Click on the Dictionaries button on the right side of the window. You will then see a "Custom Dictionaries" Window, just underneath the blank space there is Language drop down box, change this to your desired language.
You must do this on a New blank document for it to be the default for all new documents. For documents that you have already saved you may need to go and change them all.
    Hope this helps
