  • Installation.  I am trying to install / use Acrobat XI Pro. After installation when I launch the application, it keeps crashing. PS.  I had Acrobat 8 Professional previously.

    PS. I am on Mac OS 10.9.3

    Hi sethup,
    Have you uninstalled Acrobat 8 before installing Acrobat 11?
    Did the installation for Acrobat 11 go without any errors?
    If yes then it might be an issue with the licensing. We might have to check the amt3.log file.
    Do you face the same issue when you try to launch the application in the root user account as well.

  • Slow launch of applications

    It takes sometimes a minute or more to launch Mail, Safari, etc.  Office also very slow.  Icon just keeps bouncing until it finally loads.
    Have purchased more RAM (now 8 GB with plenty of room, as well as on hard disk), fixed preferences/did disk utility, don't have MacKeeper, done the disk hardware analysis (reboot with control-R), all to no avail.  I do have Content Barrier, but still slow if disabled.  Did migrate from a PowerPC G5 years ago, but more for just archived documents and do not use them.  Would not know how to find and remove any programs still running from there anyway (articles to help say to avoid migrating, etc, but not on what to do if you already have done this).  Don't have anything special as this is just a home computer for a non-technical person.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

    Hi Rickeye,
    I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your Mac. It sounds like you have been on the right track in your troubleshooting. If you continue to have general across-the-board slowness in launching and running applications, you may want to take a look at Activity Monitor during one of these incidents and see if anything stands out as overly taxed, especially CPU, Memory, and Disk. • Failed to launch JavaFX application with native bundle exe

    Hi,
    I have created a JavaFX application, and created its native bundle using Ant. When I am trying to launch application using Jar from bundle created with double click, it successfully launching my application. But when I am trying double click on MyApplication.exe (say), it throwing JavaFX Launcher Error *"Exception while running Application"*.
    I have searched about this issue, I found about jre, so I did replace jre from *"C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_10\jre"* to my application bundle folder -- *\bundles\MyApplication\runtime\jre*, then I tried to launch exe with double click, it successfully launched.
    I have compared both jre, there are many missing jar, exe, dll and some properties files I found.
    I have these environment settings -
    JAVA_HOME -- C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_10
    JREFX_HOME -- C:\Program Files\Oracle\JavaFX 2.2 Runtime
    Path contains an entry of C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_10\bin JAVA_HOME and JREFX_HOME are used as in my build.xml to take ant-javafx.jar and jfxrt.jar --
    ${env.JAVA_HOME}/lib/ant-javafx.jar
    ${env.JREFX_HOME}/lib/jfxrt.jarMy steps to create bundle are -
    <target name="CreatingExe" depends="SignedJar">
                 <fx:deploy width="800" height="600" nativeBundles="all" outdir="${OutputPath}" outfile="${app.name}">
                          <fx:info title="${app.title}"/>
                          <fx:application name="${app.title}" mainClass="${main.class}"/>
                          <fx:resources>
                               <fx:fileset dir="${OutputPath}" includes="*.jar"/>
                         <fx:fileset dir="${WorkingFolder}/temp"/>
                   </fx:resources>
               </fx:deploy>
    </target>What more needed in build.xml so that application launch correctly with exe ?
    Thanks

    You code is not dealing with the DACL access to Winsta0\Default.  Only the LocalSystem account will have full access and the interactively logged on user which is why regedit is not displaying properly.  You'll need to grant access to your user.
    You also need to deal with UAC since that code is going to give you a non-elevated token via LogonUser().  You need to get the full token via a call to GetTokenInformation() + TokenLinkedToken.
    thanks

    Since downloading OS X Yosemite I have been having issues with Netflix. Video slows down which causes the audio to go out of sync. Netflix plays ok on ipad which makes me think it's the software which is the issue. Has anyone else had this issue?

    Try this:
    Go to System Preferences - Bluetooth. Delete the keyboard from the list of devices by pressing the "-" button. Take the batteries out of the keyboard and reinsert them. In Bluetooth Preferences press the '+" button to add the new device. If the keyboard begins to pair, click the word "pair" and type in the passcode. Press return. The keyboard is now paired.
    If the mouse is not pairing, try this: shut down the computer completely, unplug any USB mice, then turn off the power to the bluetooth mouse.  ONce the computer starts up again, wait for the pop-up looking for a mouse.  Turn on the power to the bluetooth mouse.  It should work normally now.

  • New OIF installation - Very slow response from OHS

    Hi,
    I've installed two instances of OIF 10.1.4.0.1 in order to create a test configuration to test XASP Attribute Sharing (i.e., we are not doing any other profiles).
    Both OIF instances are using a separate instance of Sun Directory Server as its User Data Store, and both are using in-memory for Transient Data Store and have no Federation Data Store. Both OIF instances were installed similarly, using the "BASIC" installation choices, and are running on separate Redhat Linux servers.
    The problem that we're seeing is very slow (10+ seconds to 30+ seconds) responses, even when we try to access a static HTML test page that we've placed in the OHS htdocs directory.
    We've eliminated any networking problems as possibilities by a couple of tests that we've done, including shutting down the OHS and running a small, different test web server listening on port 7777. When we do that, response time for requests from that web server is almost instantaneous.
    We are also seeing the same slow response when we try to access the test HTML page from the same server itself.
    We have an SR open with Oracle, but so far, we've not been able to identify what the problem might be, so I'm hoping that perhaps someone else may have encountered this problem and have a resolution.
    It is really puzzling because, as I said, this is a pretty vanilla default OIF installation, and it is doubly puzzling because even getting a tiny static HTML page is taking 10+ seconds. Also, I had installed OIF 10.1.4.0.1 on a Windows machine previously, and I don't see this problem on that earlier installation.
    If anyone here has any insight into this problem, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi,
    I think I was able to temporarily eliminate this slow response problem. I think that the slow response problem is related to another problem that I posted about in the "Application Server - General" forum (see below, and Port 7200 conflict?
    Jim
    ======= POSTED to Application Server - General forum ============
    I think that I was able to temporarily work around this problem, plus another problem that I think is related (see: New OIF installation - Very slow response from OHS
    What I did was to just comment out the "include" line for "dms.conf" in the Apache httpd.conf.
    Doing that got rid of the "Address already in use" errors I was seeing in Apache error_log and also eliminated the slow response I was seeing from Apache/OHS (see that other post in "Identity Management" forum), BUT I am getting new errors about Apache not being able to find "htdocs/dms/Spy0".
    I have the impression that dms is some kind of process monitoring system that Oracle has in 10gAS infrastructure? So, I have some questions:
    1) What's the effect of dms not working?
    2) Is it possible to just disable dms?
    I hope that Oracle support can come up with a "real" fix for both problems, but in the meantime, as long as what I did doesn't break anything else besides dms, we can at least test the OIF stuff.

  • Bug report: Energy Manager causes slow performance...

    Very slow Windows Startup..
    Energy Manager's plans and the problem occured using any plan as I remember, and it wasn't an issue with the maximum processor state. I had heavy disk usage, especially access to the Page File, which is what the person in the second link I posted also described. CPU usage was low. The disk usage was seemingly not related to Energy Manager (Chrome was usually the worst), but removing Energy Manager completely resolved the problem. If you would find it helpful. I'm quite confident that even with Maximum Processor state at %100, CPU usage was low when it was slow, and that disk access was the culprit.
    previously have use 1.0.0.31 or 32 not sure.
    Windows 8.1
    Im using Lenovo Energy Management Driver
    1.0.0.28
    4.6.2014

    I actually have the same problem.  Sorry to work on a old thread, but...
    I've got my Lenovo B50-70 less than 1 month ago, and had switched it to SSD and had set everything up and is working perfectly.  However there are a bunch of lenovo programs that came pre-installed.  This computer is used mainly for work and I really don't like programs that suddenly pop-up and ask you to do stuff, as it is quite distracting, and with Lenovo Energy Manager being one of them so I removed it.  (I did do some research before I remove...)
    Everything was fine, until when I try to switch on my wifi (I usually have it off, as I use LAN most of the time)...  For the B50-70 there is a airplane button on F7, which allow the user to switch wifi and bluetooth on/off.  That button was unresponsive...  After some digging it is actually related to the power energy manager being removed.  So I've downloaded the latest version from Lenovo and it was working again...
    However though, whenever I start my computer it is taking so long to start...  And I tried uninstalling the power energy manager and it solved the problem...  And I am stuck with either having no wifi on/off ability or a really slow boot, which loses the whole purpose of the SSD.  After you enter your username and password it originally takes around 5~10 seconds to login, now it takes over 1 minute.
    I have found this other link, which says Lenovo Power Manager having the same problem.
    https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkVantage-Technologies/Bug-report-Power-Manager-causes-slow-performa...
    There is a solution, which you can change the registry to switch a function off.  I've tried it and it didn't work, which is not surprising as it's a different program..  But I am hoping that Lenovo can provide a similar solution for Lenovo Energy Manager...

    Alright y'all (jklawmd, Supritha Papannajklawmd, and anyone else having this issue),
         I was having this same exact issue, and I actually referred to your post hoping for a fix (that I obviously did not find), however, I did discover a work around!!! I use "Adobe AIR" for my "Pandora One Desktop Application", but every time I opened the installer for "Pandora One" it gave me the same exact error. Here is what I did to fix it (Hoping it helps y'all too):
    BEFORE starting ensure that the "AIR Program" that you want to install is downloaded and located in your "Downloads" folder
    Uninstall "Adobe AIR" using the included uninstaller (Navigate to your "Utilities" folder in a "New Finder Window" in order to find this, once you're there you can't miss it)
    Delete all previous "Adobe AIR" downloads
    Download a new "Adobe AIR" Installer from "Adobe" (Sounds redundant I know, but bear with me)
    Install "Adobe AIR" using the most recent download
    VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL THE "AIR PROGRAM" YET
    Once the "Adobe AIR" Installation is complete navigate to "File" and select "New Finder Window"
    Once there select the "Applications" folder from the menu bar on the left of the window (Should be under "Favorites")
    Navigate to your "Utilities" Folder (Again)
    Locate the icon for "Adobe AIR Application Installer" and open it; This will open a new window
    Once the new window is open, navigate to your "Downloads" folder and locate the "AIR Program" that you want to install select the "AIR Program" and click "Open" (Bottom right hand corner)
    TaDa!!!
    Following those steps should culminate in the initialization of the install process for the program that you weren't able to install before, and from there it is business as usual (selecting and answering to the necessary install prompts for the "AIR Program"). It seems like there is a glitch somewhere between "Yosemite" and "Adobe AIR" that prevents the "Adobe AIR Application Installer" from auto-running properly when you try to open the sub-program. However, initializing the "Adobe AIR Application Installer" FIRST allows it to get up and running before the sub-program communicates with it. This fixed it for me right away, please let me know whether it works for your specific "Adobe AIR"/"AIR Program" set, if not I will download your "AIR Program" and see if I can't find another way. Also, has anyone contacted either Adobe Support or Apple Support directly with this yet??
    I hope this helps, personally, I don't know where I would be without my "Pandora One Desktop Application"!!!

  • Creating physical standby db through grid control 11g fails with "default listener is not running"

    On step 4/6, i am getting error like below
    ErrorExamine and correct the following error(s), then re-try the operation.Default Listener in Grid Infrastructure - The default listener in the grid infrastucture is not running.
    I have the listener running on grid user and grid home, 11.2 in both primary and standby.
    During these steps till 4, its no where asked for grid user password.
    Not sure how it will detect the grid home listener.
    Listener is running with default port 1521 on both the servers primary and standby
    On the step 4 screen the other option for default listener is non-default listener and its pointing to db home and not grid home.
    So i guess oracle is looking for the listener to be up on the db home and not on grid home causing the issues,
    if so how to fix this ?
    I am using role separation, separate user for grid and oracle homes grid and oracle user and all are on 11.2.0.1 db + grid

    Hello again;
    Check the solution in this: ( and note the multiple versions of oracle it covers )

  • Created zone with defaults won't boot completely (Solaris 10, Update 1)

    If I create a zone with defaults, i.e. allowing the zone to inherit the typical package dirs, the resulting zone does not boot completely. When I attach to the zone via zlogin, the zone looks to be in an administrative state. It never boots to a point where one would typically enter in the initial configuration info, e.g. timezone and root password.
    However if I create the zone after first removing the inherited dirs, the zone boots to a state where it subsequently can be confiured and fully booted.
    Looks as if the SMF facilities are not fully initialized when the zone is configured to inherit its packages. This could be a red herring as I'm a newbie who's moved over from Linux and starting to understand SMF specifically and Solaris in general.
    I did not have this problem with Solaris 10. I've just installed Solaris 10 Update 1; the problem seems specific to that installation. I reinstalled and the problem persists.

    I snipped the output because there were some errors, which on retrospect seems to have been a silly decision. I repeated the process and captured the missing output:
    # zoneadm -z foo install
    Preparing to install zone <foo>.
    Creating list of files to copy from the global zone.
    Copying <5913> files to the zone.
    Initializing zone product registry.
    Determining zone package initialization order.
    Preparing to initialize <942> packages on the zone.
    Initialized <942> packages on zone.
    Zone <foo> is initialized.
    Installation of <1> packages was skipped.
    Installation of these packages generated warnings: <SUNWxwfnt

    The file </zone/foo/root/var/sadm/system/logs/install_log> contains a log of the zone installation.The packages are related to App development and X11. I don't see any that might be related to SMF.
    The logfile is too large to post at over 37K lines. However there seemed to be a pattern to the package failures. Hopefully these greps highlight the important messages:

    > What does "svcadm list -vc" give you when you started the zone ?
    I took that as a typo, instead using "zoneadm?"
    # zoneadm list -vc
      ID NAME             STATUS         PATH
       0 global           running        /
       7 foo              running        /zone/fooThe zone is not on its own slice, however "/zone" is mounted as a loopback from /export/zone. I don't think that's a problem since the zone install seems to work if I don't inherit packages. Unless perhaps its a nesting level of lofs's.
