Does anyone know if you can use emojis with the "cards" app on the iPhone? I know that you can type them in, but will it show up when the person gets it?

GMail is not working with Apple Mail App: Login correct, says "no e-mails"?

HI everyone,
I just switched from my iPhone 5 to a new iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.1.2. After I put the latest backup to the new device everything was set up fine. Unfortunately Google Mail doesn't work with the Apple Mail App any more.
I have two factor identification switched on and use the 16 digit long password which I set up with my Google account. The configuration details work (login, password, server details), the account is accepted, no notifications tell me that anything is wrong. The thing is, that the Apple Mail App doesn't show any mails. Also it's impossible to send any emails. The strange thing is, that the GMail App works fine.
I really tried everything: deleted the account setup, changed mail server from m.google.com to smtp.google.com, set up a new app specific password through two factor identification... no emails appear!
With my iPhone 5 I was a lucky user of push email, thanks to Microsoft ActiveSync. So I keep trying to configure the GMail account as an Exchange account (I know that Google switched off ActiveSync some time ago, until now everything worked fine with my iPhone 5, even push mail worked!).
Does anyone of you know how to solve the problem? I don't like the GMail App and really prefer using the iOS Mail App..

With Apple Photos app

Since trying to migrate 43k photos in about 200 albums to the new Apple Photo App my Apple TV is showing only a small random assortment of photos and no longer albums.
This was a ten year project of putting together family albums of family events. It is not there anymore.....
How do I get Apple TV to again show my albums from before "Photos."?

The only solution seems to be iTunes Home Sharing (go to iTunes, File > Home Sharing > Choose Photos to share with Apple TV). In the window that pops up, choose "Share Photos from", and pick Photos. You then get a choice of "All photos and albums" or "Selected albums".
In case you use multiple Photos libraries, this will only show the primary library albums (the library labeled System Photo Library). There seems to be no way to choose albums from the iCloud Photos library on the Apple TV. I've filed bug with Apple, and encourage everyone to do so if you're interested in this capability.

OS Update 10.9.1 did NOT fix Gmail syncing issues with Apple Mail App?

Is it just me? Or is anyone else having the same issues of gmail still NOT syncing accross iPad and Mac Mail app in spite of the "update/fix" to OS? My mail on my three Macs and one iPad are still never synced corrctly. When I try "syncronize all mail boxes" in the mail app of the mac, it does not work.
I look directly at my Gmail online thorugh Safari on the Google site and see I have 2 emails in my IN box. Yet on one Mac it has 15 (13 of ehcih were deleted several hours ago). On another Mac it has 18. On the iPad it has it right as that is where I begain looking at end editing email today.
Any ideas?

Yes you can open Word files. If it is an email attachment you can simply tap and hold down on the icon and select "open in" and then select Pages - as long as you have the Pages app on the iPad.

If you don't want to give credit cards then you need to use the instructions on this page when creating a new account (the instructions won't work on existing accounts) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
If you didn't use those instructions then card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.

Apple Support: Do not delete this. I am complying with your requests. According to your T&C, I must state my problems in question form to ask the community or your teams for help in a constructive way. I believe my original post was only playfully negative, but since I am complying now, I would expect that you do not delete this, otherwise you're simplying just trying to put spin on a buggy release. PLEASE HELP. I have not heard back from Feedback, and phone support continually says to RESTORE the phone, which only solves these problems for a few hours.
1) My iPhone OS 2.0 is very slow, even with a virgin restore with no apps or synchronized content.
2) My iPhone OS 2.0 reboots at random times.
3) My PURCHASED applications crash randomly, under unreproducible conditions.
4) Free applications crash randomly.
5) My iPhone OS 2.0 will not boot after an irregular interval of reboots, showing only the black screen with the apple logo. Letting this sit for 8 hours simply drains the battery until it goes pitch black. POWER+DOWN_ARROW and an iTunes restore is the only way to recover. This process takes hours to complete.
I have gone several days without a working phone while away from the iTunes at home to restore my contacts and other data vital to the operation of my business, not to mention a phone that actually works to make and receive calls.
As stated in the previous post, I'm a loyal Apple customer, and have spent considerable time evangelizing the brand, and have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars by purchasing Apple laptops instead of Dell.
Can you please tell me how to solve this? If there is no firmware problem, please give me a real solution to fix this. I am not the only one with this problem.

Many of us have this problem. I've had it several times now.
The only way to fix it, is to restore the iPhone.
I know it seems like it wont boot, or wont do anything, but it will... just do this.
Start Itunes. Turn off the iPhone, now put it in the dock or plug it into the USB cable, WHILE holding the top button on the phone down. Keep holding it down. It will then show a connect cable icon on the phone. It should show up in iTunes at this point. Proceed to restore the phone per screen instructions.
Once its back up and booting and working etc...
MAKE SURE... you DO NOT... install any application or delete any application on your iphone. IF you dare do so.... MAKE ABSOLUTELY certain you do not do ANYTHING at the same time. That means NEVER DL an app from itunes store on your phone, and while it is installing, ... avoid clicking on anything, touching the phone, starting a different app, going back to the itunes store...
In other words... If you try to multitask... it causes some weird bug.

Ipad2 is having issues with Apple's Apps

My Ipad2 first had issues with a blank screens when I opened my reminders. Two weeks later the same thing has happened with my address book. I see the edees/"form" of each app, but absolutely no writing what so ever. I un did them from icould but that didn't help. I would just erase the ipad and start over but I would lose my work files and more importantly I think its an internal issue. If one goes, then another, I may have serious problems. Any ideas?

Do you backup your iPad? Have you tried restoring from a backup? If you do restore from a backup, you restore everything in that backup onto the iPad and it returns to the way it was on the date of that backup.
Your work files ...do you back those up somehow? Do you use file sharing to transfer them to iTunes? Or use DropBox and send them to your computer? If you have the files backed up. You could restore to factory settings and then restore from the backup and see if that helps.
Do you have problems with all of the preinstalled apps?
EDIT - OK ... What was the obvious thing that you overlooked?

Cards App not connecting to store

Trying to make holiday cards with the Cards app. Works fine until I try to purchase the card. After I sign in i get the following error messages:
1. Order Cancelled: There was a problem with your order. Please try ordering again.
After I tap "OK" button, next error message:
2. Could Not Connect: Could not connect to the store. Please try ordering your card again.
Been trying for a few days now using different wifi connections. I can connect to iTunes from the iTunes app. Billing information is current and correct including CVV.

I am sitting on a plane bored to tears, hooked up my iPad to the hotspot and started surfing the app store. Found the Apple Cards app and began to design my loved one a card, fabulous app......until I come to order it, the payment defaults to New Zealand $ and not US$, even when I go to pay it keeps giving me errors. All my apple I'd is set up for the US and my card details are all up to date.....what and how can I change the default currency and why is t doing it?

Since your "card" is associated with a banking instituation in the U.S. you cannot purchase iTunes media in another country.

Apple Remote App and iTunes

Hi
I've got the latest software on iTunes and my Remote App for iPhone and iPad. I've noticed from tint to time that when selecting the source in the Remote App (I.e. whether to play music / films etc from iTunes or my AppleTV I notice the icon for iTunes DJ appears (icon is several CDs stacked on each other). This only appears very occasionally and I have no idea what triggers its appearance. I would have though it should appear there all the time.
Anybody have any clues as to what is happening and why?

I have had and fixed a similar issue;
Setup;
Linksys ADSL router/model (4 port wired and wireless)
LAN Network = 192.168.0.x
Mac Mini wired into the router (on same LAN)
Airport Express wireless (driving my stereo speakers and acting as a wireless client on the same LAN)
Apple iPhone 3GS wireless with Apple Remore app
iTunes 9.blah (last 9.x version before 10 havent upg yet, iTunes all configured to use airtunes, remote speakers and remote app etc)
Now It will all work fine and dandy at first then if i stop itunes (and the remote app disconnects) after a while (5 to 10 mins) the mac goes to sleep to save power.
The mac doesnt wake up again to accept the connection from the remote app.
So I found an apple support article (cant find it now) that suggested that I set the "wake on lan" feature, this wakes the mac and itunes if the mac has slept. Its in the system preferences / energy saver (its something like "wake on lan" or "wake on network")
This fixes it for me.

How to create in house distribution provisional profile with wild card?

Hi,
I have enrolled for iOS enterprise distribution and created distribution certificate and App-id with wild card (e.g. com.companyname.*) from the portal (not from the xcode).
When I am trying to create the in house distribution provisional profile from portal, it is not listing the App-id with wild card. I can only create the profile with explicit App-id. I checked with other enterprise account but they are able to create such profiles.
How can I get in-house distribution profile linked with wild card App-id?
