Emp Group and Status

A question about the Best Practice for US Benefits Implementation...We are having Active, Terminated, Retiree, etc groups in Employee Group (EG) and we use EG throughout the Benefits configuration in various features as a Decision Field.
Instead of EG, can we use the Employment Status (P0000-STAT2) to distinguish Active, Terms and Retirees for various benefits? But, SAP has not provided the Status field available as decision field in any of the Benefits features...so, we end up with using User Exits for all the features.
Alternatively, we should not delimit the IT0171 record on termination and keep it open and let the Benefits get terminated. But, it would impact the COBRA module, right?
Please share the best practice to deal with Empt Status and Emp Gp fields for US Benefits.

Yes, we have standard SAP's Withdrwan and Retiree in P000-STAT2 field. I am thinking of using them in place of Emp Gp. Presently we are not using User Exits but once we want to replace EG with Empt Status, we need to move from using the standard features and use User Exits for all of them.

    Hello Elie,
    I am not sure on it,However have you tried creating a context with combination of Business Group and Person Type using merging,
    business_group_id || "_"|| person_type_id And structures would be something like 80_2112 Business Group id = 80 and Person Type id=2112.
    It may resolve your issue if this works out.

  • Same Org as Business Group and Operating Unit cannot be migrated via isetup

    Hi,
    I have tried to migrate the setup of an organization which is classified as both Business group and Operating unit.
    When it comes to Operating unit API, it errors out with the following Warning message.
    I request the iSetup Team to clarify whether there is any restriction in iSetup that the same org as BG and OU cannot be transferred.
    If yes, then how to migrate the same...
    The above situation happens for the org classified as OU and IO. In this case the INV org API give the warning message.

    Account Group Controls the Master records. It controls the number range of Master record and Field status group (Supress, Required, Optional and Display) also. SAP follows a Grouping principle all throughout SAP to handle the Master Records that may be in GL, AR AP any thing. See to create a GL Account group you define at OBD4 there itself you assign the Number Range or those groups which also controls Field Staus of GL Master Records. And for Creating AR and AP Master Records you create at OBD2 and Vendor at OBD3 which will also controls Field Status Group of And Number range of Master record. The only difference between GL and AR/AP is assigning of number range. For GL will specify at OBD4 itself but for AR/AP we need to create a number range at FBN1 then assign to AR And AP at OBD2 and OBD3 respectively.
    One more thing. Remember only Field Status group of Master recard (OBD2, OBD3, OBD4) only contain Display option but not to Posting Key or Field Satus Group (OB41 or OBC4). I am so specifing becoz I commited this mistake in one interview.      
    In summary, the account group controls:
    i) The number ranges of the accounts,
    ii) The status of the fields in the company code segment of the master record.  Since a chart of accounts contains many different types of accounts, they can be bundled into different "account groups ". Usually one account group bundles 
    accounts with the same tasks within the general ledger, e. g. cash accounts, material accounts, asset accounts, profit and loss

    I am new to SSAS and cube world so my problem might not be big of a challenge for you but it is for me.
    Here is my challenge :
    My simplified datamart relation star schema model looks like this (2 dimensions and one fact):
    DATE dimension - Date_Id, Date, Fiscal_Year, Fiscal_Quearter, Fiscal_Month, Calendar_Month, etc
     CLIENT dimension – Cient_SK, Client_Id, and two  SCD2 type fields : Status,and Class and, of course, Start_Date, End_Date to keep track of SCD2 along with a Current_Flag . I can have several records for the same Client_Id
    over a given reporting  period.
    FACT – Date_ID, Client_SK, Client_Id
    Fact table is daily snapshot that loads one record per client only if a client was active on that day.
    Requirement: 
    Count number of currently active clients group by  “Status” or “Class” with option to roll-up to the total count of clients
    Count total number of clients who were active in the specific reporting period (period can be fiscal year or fiscal quarter or a month) grouped by the most recent “Label” or most recent “Status” or most recent “Class” in that reporting period.
    I created a cube and created a measure “Distinct_Count” that does just that - distinct count on Client_Id. It works just fine for current date as well as for any given reporting period and I have nice rolling-up/down thru Fiscal_Year-Fiscal_Quarter- Month.
    But I am having problem grouping by any of 3 attributes with SCD2 type in CLIENT dimension. I do not know how to get the latest active value (member) in the reporting period

    For example:
    If selected reporting period is  Fiscal_Quarter is Q2 that covers period Aug-Sep-Oct (Client_SK: 89, 95, 97) and if my client was active in that period, when I group active client’s count by “Status”
     attribute I need to count this client in the group “Good” since that was the most recent value for this client in this period (Q2) for this attribute (Status).
    I do not know if this is important but just in case: user interface  could be Excel application or any MDX enabled Microsoft or third party visualisation tool.

  • Propose or change automatically, Employee Group and Subgroup.

    Dear all, when executing an exit Action, thru transaction PA40, what's the best way to propose by default/change automatically, the employee group/subgroup?
    Example: I want to change the employee group from '1' (Active) to '2' (Inactive), but the fields are disabled for input.
    Do i have to do this thru the enhancement "PBAS001", or is there any way to do this thru configuration?

    I was searching for something in SDN and got this post.
    Though it's a very late reply, whatever Sreenu has told is correct.
    In the table T529A, you can define the employment status wehther it has to be active, withdrawn or inactive.
    This field is input disabled in the action and the values will be defaulted from the configuration.
    But Changing the employee group and employee subgroup , we can't change. If that is what is required, the values might depend on the configuration.
    And even through some enhancement also we can't change. because, for IT0000 no enhancement are available. Even though the fields are from IT0001, I doubt it can be changed through enhancemnet.
    If you have already achieved it through enhancemnet, please let us know.

    Hi all,
    During the new hire if an employees group and subgroup are enetered wrongly, how shouldl they be corrected. We have scenarios when the emplooyes group and sub group are corrected after a month or so and the users want to correct the same
    How do we do it?

    Goto PA40 reselect the same Hire action for this employee and click execute. In IT0000 screen enter the new EG/ESG.
    and save it. Then Save the IT0001, then fill rest of the infotypes.
    If you have already process the payroll and the new Emp group / Sub group is in different payroll area you wont be able to change it.

    The field REGIONAL STRUCTRAL GROUPING is in the General data of the Address tab.
    You can maintain it in OBD2
    Select the  Account group in OBD2 and click on the General tab----->Address ....
    In the second page you can find that field and then maintain as per your requirement.

    I am a little confused here. The following sets under the sub-group has a logical u201CANDu201D . the customer corporate reporting group would like to see the Config to allow each group of accounts defined as ruleXa reconciled to group of accts defined as ruleXb, e.g.
    Rule 2A with Rule 2B
    Rule 3A with Rule 3B etc
    Each Company set should only reconcile with the partner set.
    looked at this OSS Note 1499183 - ICR: Documents are not assigned to the object groups & got even more confused.

    Hello Johannes,
    Unfortunately what you are trying to do is not possible.
    Object groups are defined using the information in the totals table. Therefore fields only available in the line item table cannot be used when setting up object groups. Unfortunately it is also not possible to set up status fields on the totals level because of the standard update process of those fields when setting a status (the line item table is modified directly, there is no totals update). Depending on the details of your setup you might be able to simply add a "normal" field on the totals level and then fill it via BADI. This would probably work quite well if the field does not have to be set manually - and in this case you do not really need the functionality of setting a status manually either.

  • Accessing Parallel Port Control and Status Registers with VISA and Win7x64

    Hello all,
    I've posted this in the I/O forum for VISA, but this main forum seems to get a lot more traffic so I'm posting here too.
    Wondering if anyone has a solution for accessing the Control and Status registers on a parallel port with VISA, now that Win7 has locked down the I/O ports and In Port.vi and Out Port.vi don't work anymore.  I've been looking all over for a solution and haven't found anything that will help; either the VISA solution is shown but doesn't mention if the Status and Control registers are accessible, or the solution is for a 32 bit system.
    The one thing I found was under Instrument I/O>VISA>VISA Advanced, there is a group of functions called Register Access; but, when I investigate that, it seems to need an address that the detailed help describes as "VXI, VME, and GPIB-VXI" or "PXI" with no mention of Parallel Port usage, so I'm pretty much at the end of what I can figure out.
    Basically what I need to do is use the data lines to send info, and watch the status lines for incoming discrete signals.  Since parallel ports are half duplex, I can't have the data lines be both inputs and outputs simultaneously, which is what I need.  A cheap D I/O card would be the easiest solution, but to make a long story short I'm dealing with a legacy system and that's something my higher-ups want to avoid.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Device group and applications affinity

    Hello all.
    I have some device groups created with CFS configured on them.
    I need to ensure that a clusterized application runs on the server that is primary for the device group. I need to set an affinity between the affinity and the device group/file system.
    The problem is that the SUNW.HAStoragePlus does not indicates the real primary for the device group, for example:

    In this output, the resource group is online in billbd1 and the device group primary is billbd2.
    If I failover the resource group, the device group is switched also, but it seems that at startup, the resource group does not check who is the primary to start on that node.
    This means that the status of the resource group does not helps to identify who is the primary for a device group and I cannot use it for affinity configuration.
    &iquest;How can I ensure that an cluster application starts on the node who is primary for the device group on which the file system is created?
    I was thinking on a SUNW.gds for this purpose, but I wonder if there is another way.

    Yes, I'm using AffinityOn=TRUE. After some testings, I can see that the device group is switched at startup, but I don't know under which circunstances it does not.
    Also, I can force discrepancy with the device group and the resource group if a perform a cldg switch.
    So, if I run clrg switch, the device group is switched also. If I run cldg switch, the device group is switched but the HAStoragePlus resource does not.
    This means that HAStoragePlus cannot ensure that the node is the primary for a device group and cannot be used for affinity on applications.

    Than try to configure the Symbolic accounts as per the ESG for more info read the documentation and use of the feature PPMOD
    or else if you are looking at for the Groupings of EG and ESG

    After cofigureing  you will be haveing Testing or UAT right so not a problem with any Errors or issues

    I’m really struggling with a problem here regarding the decimal characters for the prices in my output.
    I'm using XML Publisher 5.6.3.
    My goal is to control the grouping and decimal character from my template.
    The numbers in the XML data file can either be 10.000,00 or 10,000.00. The format is handled by the users nls_numeric_characters profile option.
    The output of the template shall be based on the locale and not the data generated by Oracle Reports. For example: Reports to US customers shall show the numbers in the following format 10,000.00. Reports to our European customers shall show the numbers in this format 10.000,00.
    How can I achieve this in my templates? Can it be achieved at all?

    The problem is that the report is generating the output based on the users profile option nls_numeric_characters.
    I have tried to override the users profile option in the before report trigger without any luck. I can alter selects so the query gets the numbers in the right format but then I would have to go through all queryes and reports which seem a bit wrong? Especially for the standard Oracle reports.

    Background:
    1) Report SQL is created with unions to have detail lines continue on a page, until it reaches page footer or report footer, rather than using  subreports.    A subreport report is now essentially a group1a, group1b, etc. (containing column headers and other data within the the report    with their respective detail lines).  I had multiple subreports and each subreport became one union.
    Created and tested, already:
    1) I have calculated @TotalLineForEachOfTheSameGroup, now I need to sum of the individual same group totals to get the total line count on a page.
    Issue:
    1) I need this to create break on a certain line before, it dribbles in to a pre-printed area.
    Other Ideas Appreciated:
    1) Groups/detail lines break inconveniently(dribble) into the pre-printed area, looking for alternatives for above situation.
