Emp join Mid of the month  -Tax caluculation

Hi
Employee joined in October /18 /2011.Salary calculation on payroll days based  on October 17 days working +4 paid holiday =21.
so based employee joining  date    working days is 10 .
     Monthly
Basic     45,834.00
HRA             18,334.00
Spl             12,313.00
TA                  800.00
MA               1,250.00
Gross     78,531.00
10days salary
Basic   21,825.71
HRA      8,730.48
SPL      5,863.33
TA           380.95
MA          595.24
Gross    37,395.71
October (10days)5months(nov, dec, jan, feb,mar)=3739678531*5 = 430051
Annual total salary = 430051(it's client calculation )
But in SAP system taking October full month Like =78531*6=471186
How to config to get proper calculation, do i need to change any processing class .
Kindly suggest me  ,
Thanks
Nandu

Hi,
Kindly read caution in that info and i think you revert to settings 0 as earlier. Now try to run nov in simulation, the system will take actual from oct salary and nov + remaining months salary based on Nov salary.
Though the tax may seem more in oct due to this calculation the system shall in nov adjust tax accordingly.test it thoroughly and then convince the client that tax will never be more than what is actually received even at the end of march the  system takes actual upto Feb and only considers march salary only adding to the pay results already populated in RT.
Check for 1 employee upto march and compare with what client does the calculation it will be same for tax.

  • Issue on Changing the Payroll Area in Mid of the Month from Biweekly to Mon

    Dear Experts,
I have an issue on payroll area which is changing from biweekly to monthly in Mid of the Month.
One employee was retired on 29th of March, so his payroll area was changed from biweekly to monthly on 29th. For retire we are running the payroll on 8th of every month. When we are running payroll for April he has received only 29th and 30th retire salary, by the time he is not yet retired also.
In this case the main problem is monthly payroll time is early then biweekly. so the employee is getting retire salary then his regular pay.
Can you guide me where we can control that monthly payroll area should not be triggered at this movement.
    Thanks
    Chandra

    Hi Dilek,
If splits will be there definitely there will be two wagetypes but the amounts they'll have will be based on the rates of those periods.
Suppose an employee got payscale increase on 11th of  the month, then employee will be paid at the rate of first payscale for first ten days then @ of second payscale on second 20 days.
So there won't be any inconsistency.

  • Double allowances when transfer in mid of the month

    Hi Experts,
When I am transferring an employee in mid of the month(in same payroll area ), the only component changing is HRA ( as it is region specific ). Now two records exist for that employee in Basic pay infotype one from date range 01-15 and other from 15-31 and only difference is HRA amount.
Now when simulating payroll for this employee some allowances are getting doubled .
    What may be the problem.

  • PF Calculation for Employee Joined After 15th of the month.

    Hi All,
I have an issue with the PF calculation where the system is calculating the period the person worked in the month not the full period while running his payroll in the next month.
Exmp: Basic Salary 10000, PF- 12%=1200
Emp Joined on 18th of april 2011>>> Basic goes down to --4334 & PF is 520 where as the PF should have been 1200.
The RT shows the following data.
    /3FA PF basis fo0101                                                 4.333,00
    /3FB PF Basis fo0101                                                 4.333,00
Is there any rule through i can controll the Calculation on the actual BAsic

    So Vibin ,
You mean to say that i should tell the client that its SAP standard Practice to Deduct on the Basic for which the employee has worked not on the actual of 10000.
What are the legal aspect i can face for the same issue of deducting the full PF of 1200.
IS ther any EXITS or PCRs available, i just checked "User Exit: Override Employer Pension Basis" but that is for Pension ,i dont think it will work for PF.
    Please guide.

I have a new Samsung phone and I live in CT. Last month they charged me $38 on my bill for the sales tax for the new phone which was $600. I'm paying for the phone itself over 20 installments of $30 each.  Now again I'm getting that same $38 charge. I can't  believe that the monthly CT tax is higher than the payment for the phone itself. Does this make sense. Last time I spoke with them on the phone it was for 1 1/4 hours for something simple. I don't want to call unless I need to. The salesman told me nothing about any of this. Thank you for any help you can offer.

The bill from last month states:
    CT state sales tax**     $38.10
** In some states sales tax or surcharges are calculated on the full cost of the full retail price or VZW cost of the device you purchased and not on the discounted price you pay. The sales tax or surcharges charged on your device was based on $599.99 and appears on this first bill.
The current bill says the same.
Actually, now I'm realizing that last month's bill stated I was making the first payment toward the phone. Now this month also says it's the first payment toward the phone when it's really the second.

  • Best of the Month – July '14

It’s a common occurrence. You’re in the audience at a rock concert, jazz club or orchestral recital and the sound system doesn’t work. An anxious singer or musician taps her microphone…to no avail. Invariably, an alert technician leaps forward, jogs across the stage, fiddles with the A/V system and…Voila! The sound comes on with a high-pitched whir.
Like concert audio technicians, HP Support Forum Experts are backstage heroes. They ensure everything stays up and running for our highly valued participants, who make tens of millions of web and mobile visits to the HP forums each month.
This month, we’re recognizing a few of our top performers with a sound “check” of our own. We’d also like to bring to your attention our quarterly Expert Days, commencing August 27–28.
    Top Contributor
Our lead problem-solver in July was DavidPK, who joined the HP Support Forum in September 2010. Since then, he has amassed an impressive tally. He has read more than 51,000 messages and posted nearly 31,000 replies. He has authored upwards of 4,560 total Solutions and received almost 9,000 Kudos for helping community participants resolve their computing problems.
Those familiar with DavidPK know he’s extremely active on the Lockups & Freezes boards. He’s eager to assist people in getting their desktop PCs, notebooks and tablets back to peak performance. This recent post (in French) explains why DavidPK, who resides across The Pond, is beloved by HP Support Forum participants around the globe.
For the month of July, he received 309 Kudos and was credited with 248 Accepted Solutions.
    Special Recognition
This month’s Special Recognition goes to two notable Experts: a Volunteer and an HP Employee.
The word venerable comes to mind for old_geekster, who refers to 1984 as the date he got hooked on personal computers. A veteran volunteer on the HP Support Forum, old_geekster joined the boards six years ago. He is patient and generous with his time, as his total stats reflect. Since 2008, he has replied to nearly 9,400 posts and received more than 2,700 Kudos.
Recently, old_geekster has been revving up the forum and cooling down anxious participants. During the past six months he has read a whopping 26,842 messages and responded with 1,901 posts (as of July 30). He has spent more than 27,000 minutes online and received 272 Accepted Solutions for his qualitative efforts.
One of many veterans who joined the HP Support Forum in 2008, Miles is a well-recognized product Expert and leader in the printing group at HP. In fact, he is our “go-to-guy” for many of the toughest questions we encounter in the printing realm.
Miles works behind the scenes to ensure all forum Experts receive detailed product information and documentation support to help them answer community participants’ questions. He communicates regularly with HP Support Forum volunteers, moderators and managers and conducts weekly meetings to resolve complex printer issues. In addition to staying abreast of HP printer updates, Miles provides forum Experts with backstage product support, educating them about new technologies on the horizon. He also participates regularly in our quarterly Expert Days.

  • How to subtract the month from an item type Date Picker

    Hi everybody!!
I´m building an application (V4.2) in wich customer introduce a date (item P11_F_ACTIVIDAD, Display as Date Picker). I need to sustract the month from that field and use it in a SQL query to fetch all rows from a table that met that condition (column F_ACTIVIDAD) . The WHERE clause should has something like this: WHERE substr(to_char(h.F_ACTIVIDAD,'ddmmyyyy'),3,2)= substr(to_char(:P11_F_ACTIVIDAD,'ddmmyyyy'),3,2)  but SQL engine does not see ":P11_F_ACTIVIDAD" like a column name..... Of course, it is not a column name.
I appreciate recomend me an idea to overcome this issue.
    Thanks so much!

In APEX, items can certainly be used as bound variables in a SQL statement; like this.
    SELECT emp.ename,
           emp.hiredate,
           EXTRACT (MONTH FROM emp.hiredate) hiredate_month,
           EXTRACT (MONTH FROM :p11_f_actividad) datepicker_month
      FROM emp
    WHERE SUBSTR (TO_CHAR (emp.hiredate, 'ddmmyyyy'), 3, 2) =
              SUBSTR (TO_CHAR ( :p11_f_actividad, 'ddmmyyyy'), 3, 2)

  • Full depreciation if the asset is purchased with in first 15 days of the month

    Hello All,
We have requirement in Asset accoutning.
If the asset is purchased from 1st to 15th of a month, the depreciation should be charged for entire 1 month.
If the asset is purchased between 16th to 31st of a month, then only half a month depreciation shjould be charged.
Could any share how this can be done in SAP - Asset Accoutning?
    Regards,
    MG

    Hello Javeed,
I tried for both 02 and 03. But 02 at all times takes the values from 1st of the month and 03 takes the values from mid of month everytime.
I am looking for something where in, if the asset is purchased in the first 15days, the depr should be charged full and if purchase after 16th then half.
It should be noted that the depreciation key is assigend to Asset class and depreciation combination and i am not sure how two assets belonging to the same Asset class can have different deprecaiton charges.
    Regards,
    mg
