  • Syncing a Windows Mobile OS Smartphone to the Macbook Pro

    Hi,
    I'm weary to buy the iPhone for a number of reasons I'm looking into the Samsung Blackjack.
    I know the MissingSync is a decent program designed to sync Windows Mobile devices with Macs but I'm wondering how well does it work?
    The most important feature for me would be syncing phone emails to my Apple Mail program - is that possible?
    What do you guys use to sync phones with computers? How well does it work?
    Thanks,
    Jacob

    Whoa, after looking through that forums briefly it
    looks like everyone has problems!
    You would come to the same conclusion when you look at the apple forums. Rule of thumb: Do not use support to guage the status of a product unless you feel good about making a statement about health care by going to the emergency room after a accident.

GRACIAS.

    A possible cause for this are "xref streams" (and "object streams"),
    introduced in PDF 1.5.
    Reader 5 handles PDF versions up to 1.4. If the PDFs you have use "xref
    streams", then older readers won't be able to open them at all. [There also
    exist "hybrid ref PDFs", that can be opened with older readers but with
    reduced capabilities.] If you can put such a PDF somewhere publicly
    available and post a link here, I can take a look to see if it's this case.
    All that you can do is convert these PDFs to 1.4 or an earlyer version. I
    think Acrobat 6 and later (the full version, not the Reader) can do this.
    They will be larger, as the "xref/object streams" produce better
    compression, but compatible with older readers.

  • Profiles/config available for Windows Mobile Smartphone?

    does Windows Mobile Smartphone supports CDC?
    depends on what? JVM maybe? or Noway to deploy a CDC application into Windows Mobile Smartphone?
    does Anybody know if IBM J9 JVM could be deployed in SmarhPhone (CDC configuration)?
    Regards

    Sorry I wrote previous thread too quick and maybe could not be understood, I will rewrite it.:
    <<Probably some smartphone devices supports java (usually MIDP) besides "Windows Mobile for SmartPhone" Operating System, however my doubt is to deploy the J9 (CDC configured) INTO "Windows Mobile for Smartphone" Operating system as same as I do in "Windows Mobile for PocketPC".
    For example movistar TSM500, has Java enabled, but it is not into the WindowsMobile for smartPhone" but it is in Moviestar menu.>>
    Sorry about my english.

  • Satellite A660-11M - Can't connect to Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone

    I cant connect my phone (sony ericsson experia x1) to my laptop Windows 7. When I'm trying to setup connection via toshiba bluetooth stack, it shows me an error "connection has been denied by PAN server [name of the my phone]". I was trying to change some options in bluetooth stack, but it was unseccesfull.
    I'm sure that there is no problem with my phone, becuase I can connect it anytime to Windows XP on the another laptop.

    Check out the How-to document

    It describes your problem and proposes the following:
    Resolution:
    * Check if your Windows mobile phone is still connected to the internet.
    * Establish the Internet Sharing connection again.

  • 700w not recognized by Vista with windows mobile device center

    please help:
    i have a treo 700w that doesn't want to consistently connect to machine I am working on. when it works (rarely), it works fine, when it doesn't there is no explanation. I have restarted both computer and phone, and I can't seem to get a connection made.
    Further I tried to uninstall/reinstall the windows mobile device center, i have removed the sync profiles on both my computer and phone, but nothing is seeming to work. I find it interesting that vista recognized my Smartphone USB device (it shows in the device manager), but that windows mobile device center doesn't show that anything is connected.
    I am connecting via USB, but would be happy to connect via bluetooth, but when i try that approach, it only offers headset/wireless stereo (i'm looking for calendar/contacts/etc).
    any direction would be wonderful - i have searched in google and subsequent pages for an hour already, and I'm thinking someone must have a better way.
    Thanks,
    -cb
    PS - for those who are forum administrators, the registration process sucks: the password limitations are oddly strong for a simple forum like this, and when you don't put in a proper password from the get-go, it clears your prior selection of device/os/agreement registration, so when you fix the red flags (the password) and submit, it (and only then) tells you that you've forgotten to answer the questions below (that you had already answered before you were thwarted by the password reqs). sigh.
    Post relates to: Treo 700w (Verizon)

    Hi AlanG,
    I have tried multiple USB connections, and do not have another sync cable. No luck.
    Though, your post gave me an idea and that was to use a safety pin to scrape the contacts at the bottom of the phone. I keep the phone in my pocket most of the time, so there was some visible grime, though i would have guessed that the connection could have been made (it wasn't that grimy, just not shiny).
    The other thing that was interesting is that when it was plugged in previous to the cleaning it shows the device connected to be a " smartphone usb sync ". Post cleaning, it now shows as a " PocketPC ". I'm not sure what the difference is, nor if I should be hoping that it reads "treo 700w", but hey, can't look a gift horse in the mouth, right?
    So, that, in addition with removing all partnerships on both the machine and the treo (and after restarting my phone) it finally connected.
    Wow. What a remarkable pain.  Let's hope it keeps working.

  • Not able to install Intellisync on Windows Mobile 6.1

    Hi
    We have got GMS 3.0.1 running on Linux and GW 8.0.2.
    On my HTC Touch Diamond (Windows Mobile 6.1) I am not able to install Intellisync. I'm sending the Intellisync_setup (Microsoft Smartphone OS-Devices) via SMS. On my mobile device I tried either opening the link directly (default opens with Opera Mobile) or pasting it into Internet Explorer. In Opera is shown a message that the certificate of the server does not fit to the hostname. But certificate and hostname are exactly the same. It is a self-issued certificate by the way. I click on the accept button and select "Windows Mobile Smartpone" from the list. Then I select install on device. Installation starts... In the middle of "downloading package ..." I get: "Install Error: Connection problem. Please try again later, or contact your system administrator." After confirming with OK the installation window closes. I reboot the mobile device and there is the Intellisync Install window where I can enter server and credentials. After entering the servername and credentials I get the message: "A secure connection could not be established. Check your connection settings, or contact your system administrator" --> Ok --> "Authentication failed. Please try again." --> OK.
    If I enter the same servername with https and same credentials over Opera or Internet Explorer I can access the GMS without any problems.
    Have you got any ideas?
    Thank you in advance for your help

    I tried that already. But the installation process can't be finished. I am always stuck at the "Intellisync Install" window where I enter the server name and my credentials. After clicking on the connect button I always get the following three messages:
    "A secure connection could not be established. Check your connection settings, or contact your system administrator."
    "Connection problem. Please try again later, or contact your system administrator."
    "Authentication failed. Please try again."
    Now on GMS I changed the following options and rebooted afterwards:
    "Enforce SSLv3 connection and a minimum 64-bit key" --> to NO
    "Server Key Length" --> to 1'024
    I again performed a hard reset on my HTC.
    None of all that helped.
    Could it be a problem with the mobile services provider?
    I'm tempted to say to recheck the certificate you are using. Has this been working before?
    Could be the CN on the certificate does not have the full dn (e.g. server.domain.com)?

  • Synchronizing software for Windows 7 and Windows Mobile

    Hi All,
    I am trying to synchronize my PC with a Windows Mobile device (Scanner). When I googled I came to know Microsoft Mobile Device Center 6.1 is used to synchronize Windows Vista with many devices. But I am looking for a software which can synchronize my Windows
    7 PC and Mobile Device.
    Can someone suggest me on this. It's pretty urgent.
    Please refer to the System Requirements - Supported Devices section in the url mentioned below. This is for Windows Vista. Similar to this I am expecting a software for Windows 7.

    Hi,
    Regarding sync issue between mobile device and the Windows 7 system, we could accomplished it with device stage.
    Description:
    There are two primary ways to sync a mobile phone, portable music player, or other mobile device with your computer. You can install the sync software that many manufacturers include with their devices, or you can use the new Device Stage feature in this
    version of Windows if your device supports this feature.
    Device Stage lets you sync music, contacts, calendars, and other files and information with a compatible mobile device. It also allows you to perform other device-related tasks that vary depending on the device, such as creating ringtones for a mobile phone.
    What files and information you can sync depends on the type of device you have and what it supports. For example, you may be able to sync contacts and calendars with a smartphone, but not with a portable music player.
    More information, we could take a look at the below links:
    Sync music, pictures, contacts, and calendars with a mobile device
    Device management
    Besides, some folks told that Winodows Mobile Device Center 6.1.6965 will work and sync well on Windows 7 Professional, and to install WMDC, we should have Windows Media Player running first.
    Please take a look at the below thread:
    Windows 7 and Windows Mobile 6.5
    Hope this may help

  • SYNC  Itunes with a Windows Mobile??

    Hello everyone, I juts got the AT&T HTC Kaiser with Windows mobile 6... is it possible to syn my itunes music with my device through the Active Sync.
    Can i download Itunes into my phone and then trasnfer my music is there like a plug in hat i can download and convert my "smartphone" into a Ipod???
    Thnanks in advance

    Only the iPod/iPhone range and the iTunes enabled phones from Motorola are compatible with iTunes for Windows and with songs from the iTunes Music Store. If your phone shows up in Windows Explorer and allows you to drag and drop music files then you be able to use songs in your iTunes Music folder but it will take a bit more work. Also you can't directly convert standard iTunes songs to another format due to the DRM (Digital Rights Management) copy protection. You may be able to get your phone working with the aid of a third party helper program. Have a look at this one and see what you think:

  • Bluetooth in Windows Mobile

    Ok
    so I am writing a MIDlet that requires access to Bluetooth. The 2 test phones I am using (T-Mobile MDA Vario and MDA III) are both runing Windows Mobile 5.0 OS 5.1.195.
    The problem is: when I emulate the program in the computer, everything works fine. But when I install it on the phones, it seems it does not have access to the bluetooth as it does not show the BT address and friendly name. I already tried another phone (Sony Ericson k 750i) and it worked fine.
    Does anyone know what the problem might be?
    The code I wrote follows:
    import javax.microedition.midlet.*;
    import javax.microedition.lcdui.*;
    import javax.bluetooth.*;
    public class BluetoothMidlet extends MIDlet implements CommandListener {
    private Command exit, next, back;
    LocalDevice local;
    Alert a;
    Form startScreen;
    public BluetoothMidlet() {
    exit = new Command("Exit",Command.EXIT, 0);
    next = new Command("Next", Command.SCREEN, 1);
    back = new Command("Back", Command.BACK, 1);
    a = new Alert("Local Device");
    a.addCommand(back);
    a.setTimeout(Alert.FOREVER);
    a.setCommandListener(this);
    startScreen = new Form("Start");
    startScreen.append("Press 'Next' to proceed or 'Exit' to make like a tree");
    startScreen.addCommand(next);
    startScreen.addCommand(exit);
    startScreen.setCommandListener(this);
    public void startApp() {
         show();
    public void pauseApp() {}
    public void destroyApp(boolean unconditional) {}
    public void commandAction(Command c,Displayable d) {
         if(c == next) {
              start();
         if(c == back) {
              show();
    if(c == exit) {
    notifyDestroyed();
    destroyApp(true);
    void show() {
         Display.getDisplay(this).setCurrent(startScreen);
    void start() {
    try {
    // Retrieve the local Bluetooth device object
    local = LocalDevice.getLocalDevice();
    // Retrieve the Bluetooth address of the local device
    String address = local.getBluetoothAddress();
    // Retrieve the name of the local Bluetooth device
    String name = local.getFriendlyName();
    System.out.println(address + name);
    a.setString("Address is "+address+", Name is "+name);
    Display.getDisplay(this).setCurrent(a);
    } catch(Exception e) {
    a.setString(e.getMessage());
    Display.getDisplay(this).setCurrent(a);
    Waiting for answers...

    The problem is that they are not phones (like SE K750i or my K800i) but smartphones, that run Windows Mobile 5. In order to be able to use bluetooth from within Java (on WM5) you need to get [most likely: purchase...] a bluetooth stack implementation which is compatible to WM5 and your Java-Version on your smartphone.
    You could also get trial licences (e.g. from here: http://www.avetana-gmbh.de/avetana-gmbh/produkte/jsr82.eng.xml ). Avetana (for example) you can use in combination with IBM's J9 or NSICOM's Cre-Me and WM2003 or WM5. I am currently writing my thesis about bluetooth & j2me and need to write a client/server-app using those technologies. I'd like to try to run the midlet on my PDA (WM5 + J9), too, but as I couldn't find working/good and free bluetooth stack implementations for this platform... I kinda gave up :-P
    More focusing on development with my k800i right now. When my thesis is done I still have time to investigate the PDA-thing.
    Wish you good luck & motivation for your work with your smartphones ;)

  • Does isync sync with windows mobile 5? if not whats best phone

    hi all,
    i have a htc260 windows 5 smartphone. will this sync succesfully with mac tiger? if so...how? i am currently struggling with mising sync...which is really hit and miss. if this cant be done succesfully which is the best smartphone platform (except iphone as not available in uk)...going nuts. thanx in advance
    shaun

    iSync does not support any Windows Mobile OS device, including the latest Windows Mobile 5 or 6 platforms.
    I'm not sure why you're having a hit or miss experience with the Missing Sync for WIndows Mobile: even with an operating system as difficult to interact with as Windows Mobile, the process of setting up and synchronizing such a device should be straightforward. Have you attempted to contact Mark/Space for assistance?

  • May I get a Firefox version also for my Windows Mobile 6 ?

    I have an older but well working smartphone whose OS is Windows Mobile 6.1
    I'd like to know if there is any old or new Firefox version that I can use with that smartphone.
    If so, I'd be glad to receive the related link.
    Thank you in advance
    Mauro

    The mobile Firefox development is mainly concentrated on the Android 2.1+ platform.
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms
    Windows Mobile
    Firefox has stopped development for Windows Mobile indefinitely. Thank you to our contributors for their continued support and feedback. The last release for Windows Mobile was 1.1 alpha 1 (download). We have stopped developing for Microsoft's mobile platform because Windows Phone 7 no longer allows developers to build C++ applications like Firefox, and Microsoft's new policies ban open-source software like Firefox from the Windows Phone Marketplace.
