Employee Discount and Loyalty Plan

Back in June of this year I contacted customer service to change my plan. I was told about the new Loyalty Plan. My concern was whether or not my employee discount would still apply. The customer service rep checked into it and told me yes. So I made my decision to take the new plan, and commit to a new contract, based on the idea that the plan would be $60 per phone minus the discount which would make each phone $48. This has been the case for months. Even last month, November, Verizon sent me a document to verify I was still eligible for the employee discount. I filled it out and sent it in and got confirmation that I was still qualified. Then the December bill came in and it was $25 higher. When I checked into it I was told that the customer service rep made a mistake and I should have never got the discount. When I checked this forum I found out that a lot of people were told the same thing and made their decision based on still getting their employee discount. This seems like to me that Verizon changed their mind after starting the program and now the consumers are getting a bad deal. This is a breach of contract since I took on the new commitment based on the employee discount still being in effect. My wife and I have been with Verizon for over 13 years. I feel that we have been lied to and that Verizon is refusing to honor their contract with us. They are going to lose our business and we will move our money somewhere else if they don't fix this. They should at least honor what we agreed to until the end of our two year contract. Then they can change the amount legally. This also means that having a contract with Verizon means nothing to them and they have no honor or integrity. So starting today I will start looking for a new carrier because as far as I am concerned my contract with them is null and void the minute they raised my bill and eliminated my employee discount. If they agree to fix the problem, then I will keep their service.

    DaleGolds,
We appreciate your loyalty and I’m glad we were able to locate a plan which will help you save. I regret to learn you’ve had this type of experience with a Loyalty plan. We definitely don’t want that to be the case, as these are special plans, especially designed to help our long-time customers. I certainly want to address all your concerns and apologize for the misinformation that may have been provided.
Our goal is to ensure you are billed correctly, and if the plan mentioned is not the best fit for your needs, we are happy to bring you back to the old one. The Loyalty plan you mentioned is designed for single-line users and it is correct the employee discount offered by your company does not apply.  It’s always our intention to be honest with you and though this change (discount not applying) is not a breach in contract, it is stated in the agreement the change of eligibility can chance at anytime. This is the case of why the discount would not apply.

I definitely don’t want to lose you as a customer and I’m prepared to do everything I can to help. Please let us know if you would like to change back to your old plan, so we can confirm it is eligible to receive your discount.

Am I able to use a federal employee discount and student discount together when buying a new computer? I work for the government, but am also a full time student at a university. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with that and knew if you were allowed to do this?

No.  Since I have friends working at Apple, I can get an employee discount.  Since I'm also attending school in Asia, do you think I can get an employee discount AND a student discount?

Can you use both an employee discount and a military discount on one account?

    No.
You can only have one ELEU (Employee Corporate Discount) on an account
So choose the one that has the greater percentage which is probably the military.

  • Re: Employee Discount on family plan

I have my own question. So if one of the additional lines wants to upgrade to a smartphone( thus making that line over 34.99 initially) would the discount apply to that line, and make it cheaper? thanks,I want to clarify it before I upgrade possibly to a smartphone.

You should start a new thread instead of responding on a thread that hasn't be posted on in over 3 years. Your discount will depend on what plan you have. Are you on old pricing or Share Everything?

  • Help setting up automatic discount and loyalty benifits

HI, Iu2019m wondering how I could configure B1 to record the sales so that every 11u2019th sale of a certain product is free.
Also, how configure B1 so that if of one product when sold together with a specific product group will automatically get a 50% discount.

    Hi  oyvindlien
If you are referring to buy 10 get 1 free scenario, the best is to add the 11th one on a new row and give it 100% discount or zero price (depending on authorization settings for users). To do it automatically in SAP Business One is not possible without development (SDK).
For product group discounts go to Inventory > Price Lists > Special Prices > Discount Groups. Here you can use Properties, Item Groups or Manufacturers to set up discounts. Bear in mind that Special Prices per Customer is a level above Discount Groups and will be selected if any exist. The only problem is how to make 1 item affect other items prices. The properties method of Discount Groups might work for this, but you will need to test it on a test database to make sure.
    Hope this helps
    Kind regards

  • I have Employee Discount

    Hi,
I have a discount through employer, been on it for about 5 years.  I just renewed it about 4 months ago through email prompt, and saw Verizon trying to charge me full price without the discount.  The rep manually discounted the unwarranted charge a few months back.  Now this bill cycle Verizon is again trying to fully charge me again??? Verizon makes it so so soooo difficult to contact them.  I try live chat, nothing.  No Verizon email to communicate issue. I wonder why this simple issue is a such a problem for Verizon? I really watch my automatic account bill withdraws.  A lot of people I know DON'T.  I wonder how many people have been overcharged, by such obvious common knowledge of people not being aware of their auto withdraws??? Hmmmmmmm.

Contacted my employee HR to inquire about any changes to my Verizon employee discount. I signed a contract with the total and discount included as an educated decision last year, I could of gone with another cell provider, and now this contract has changed per Verizon? I don't know if this is legal.
I read the pdf on the employee discount, and it does not address a loyalty plan, and my coworkers are all still getting their Verizon discounts?
All I know now is that when I recently called Verizon and I talked with about 5 reps, they all had very different stories.
also, is that I had a employee discount,  I renewed it by giving my employees email (removed) to Verizon. The last rep I talked with a few months back, put me in the system with my employee discount, and prorated the my money back.  So, I'll keep inquiring to get to the bottom of this issue, find out also if a contract can change in the middle of a plan by these factors?  I'll keep asking around, and might contact BBB for further help if needed.

  • Did you receive an unsolicited promo offer and after accepting realize your employee discount was dropped?

This is EXACTLY what happened to me! About two months ago, I received a text from Verizon stating,
"Verizon appreciates your loyalty. You are currently on the $50/2GB plan. You can now get an extra 2GB of data per month for the same price you pay now. There's no change to your voice plan or contract. Would you like to move to this new plan?"
Of course, I was tempted but thought it was too good to be true. So I called Verizon and spoke to customer service. I basically received the same message - nothing would be changed other than increasing the data plan to 4GB; the monthly rate and contract would remain the same. And I accepted the offer because it was so good!
Now, two months later I find my monthly rate is higher by ~$15. The first month, I called and received a credit - the customer service agent could never figure out why my employee discount was automatically dropped, but ensured me it wouldn't happen again. It was easily resolved and only cost me about 30 minutes in time to call in to get a resolution.
Then I get the next bill... I just chatted with customer service again this morning for this month's bill and suddenly the game has changed... I was told "promo" plans have never been allowed to receive employee discounts. Confuse me?!?! I would imagine this is something that should have come up sooner!
At any rate, I now was forced to go back to the original plan to ensure my bill would remain the same. However, I'm fuming that a company as large as Verizon could use such trickery and get away with it. It's frustrating that I have to babysit my bill and now have been misled. Here I was thinking Verizon's customer service with superior when in reality my "loyalty" plan was designed to cost me more money! Be aware when excepting these offers and they are ultimately a sales scheme.

Well your very welcome   just want to be clear there is a BIG difference between loyalty plans and loyalty Data. The data makes no change to the plan at the same rate, the plan changes you to one of the lower amounts possible not allowing the discount to apply to the acct. which is why online when checking the status you can still see you are valid but its not reflecting, unfortunately with this problem VZW cant really apply the discount because its a system reading not a mess up on an agents part. If you contact employment validation they will actually tell you the accurate info which is exactly as im explaining (1-800-890-8007) hope they clear it all up for you.
    have a great day all

  • Regarding no employee discount message! Please Read everything and you will know

come on does anyone read what the sign says anymore? The first page when you go to www.verizonwireless.com/iphoneorder says in big bold letter PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING
It then goes to say, that employee discounts on plans will be honored. It also goes on and says that you will not see it during checkout, but it will be applied to your monthly discount... Then it gives a link and says after you receive your iphone to go to this webpage to make sure employee discount is still on phone.....
I mean why doesnt anyone read anything before ordering.... Verizon would be a genius if they put in big bold print, that you where signing a 10 year contract, and had to give your first born child up, because no one would care.... This is a contract your signing you should read everything! Then maybe people wouldnt need to ask all these questions...
Sorry hope everyone enjoys there iphone just get sick of people asking questions that are already answered if they just looked

I am one of those people interested in what you speak of. I looked at your link and it doesn't mention anything of the sort. I have completed placing my order and the only thing I saw was the first question in BOLD is the message you refer to in the subject. Can you post the link to the information you write about so I can see what you are saying for myself? When you can do that, then beat me up for not reading.

  • Loyalty plan stopped getting access discount after a year

So, I am on the Loyalty Plan, $60/2GB unlim T&T, I have been a customer since 2008, exactly one year ago I upgraded to a smart phone and at the same time verizon offered me the Loyalty Plan, so got it all started, the Costco gal set it up great, she sent me to the Verizon store to file for my 20% access discount, which I did, the Verizon store went ahead after I showed a payroll check and got my discount applied. So, here is the issue, after a FULL year of 20%($12) discount, I get my June statement, NO DISCOUNT, called Verizon, talked with Braiden, after 30+ minutes, all I get is sorry sir the discount does not apply to your plan, HMMMM, I just been recieving it for a year and now you say it doesnt apply? AND GET THIS, it even says ON MY BILL in the left column that I get a 20% access discount!!
After being a LONG TIME customer, this little discount that they DID give me, and says I GET on my bill, will be the sole reason my departure from Verizon as soon as my contract ends. How can they be so poorly customer minded when they just remove a discount and all I get is "sorry sir"?
    Buyer Beware!!!!
thanks for letting me vent. -jonnyrooster

It is horrible that this happened to you, but my wife's line qualified for the same loyalty plan you are on now and I asked if employer discounts would qualify and the answer I got was no because Verizon does not give discounts on prepaid or special promotional plans (i.e. the loyalty plan). Since her plan at the time was a $60 dollar regular plan that did qualify for the employer discount we stayed with what we had.
It is great that you got the discount for 12 months.  It's unfortunate for you that some sales rep gave you the wrong information regarding the loyalty plan being eligible for further discounts when in fact it was not.  Good for you that there was a computer glitch that let you receive that non qualifying discount for 12 months.  But now the retailer discovered the issue/mistake and they have chosen to rectify the problem.  However (unfortunate and infuriating for us the consumers), in the terms of your plan it states that the loyalty plan does not qualify for further discounts.  It sucks yes and I too would be so very angry  if I found my self in your shoes, but alt least Verizon is not trying to charge you for the mistake.

  • Grandfathered Alltell users and Employee Discounts. Taken away!

I originally had a Alltel plan with a Blackberry, and switched to Verizon when they bought Alltel out I bought a Droid when they first came out. I was told nothing would change, and for the last 2 years nothing did. I work for Citigroup which had a discount for employees through Alltel and with Verizon. However in March/April of this year I decided to upgrade again to a Thunderbolt. Once again I was told nothing would change, however on my next bill I was not given a Employee discount! I called and talked to a very nice represenative that was unsure why I was not recieving my discount but said that he had fixed it for me and I should no longer have any trouble. This happened for the next two bills and twice more I was told YES you do have the discount for your plan and we will fix it for you. Today I recieved my bill and once again...Once again the discount was not applied.
I called today and went through the same motions as before. Only this time I was told that yes it did show I had a discount but because of a update they made in March 2011 I would no longer recieve my discount because my plan was originally with Alltel even though it was supposedly grandfathered in. I have had this discount with Verizon for the last two years with no problem and now without warning It has been taken away. I'm unsure why I am being punished for being a former Alltel customer but apparently I am. I was told today that I could switch to a Verizon plan and they would gladly give my discount back......however I have unlimited data on my phone and as of 7/7/11 you now are required to pay.  So that seems unreasonable to me. Also I was never informed that by keeping my Alltel plan I would eventually lose any company discount, otherwise I would have switched plans when I bought the droid. This is most defintely the worst experience I have had with Verizon.

But I was told that if I wanted my company discount back I would have to re-do my contract/plan to a Verizon one. At that point I would lose my unlimited data usage as well but they would gladly give me my discount back....
What you wrote makes sense, that is exactly how I saw it as well, until a couple of days ago. Funny thing is, I am told that my discount shows on my account and also shows that it should be applied. However since I came with Alltel, and as of some update they made in March..they have taken away Company discounts for those that were grandfathered in from Alltel. I just do not see how this is justified.
Edit** Yes I re-registered for the discount when this happened the first time. But am told my discount is on my account already.
the discount is based upon a contract between the carrier and your employer.  with alltell gone, it reverts to verizon.
they old alltell contracts have possibly expired, and now they are becoming verizon contracts.
you need to talk to your company cell phone person and find out what the contract is

  • How to get the "loyalty plan", which is 60 a month with unlimited talk and text. Not able to get to a store, want to do this change online

How can I switch to this loyalty plan that is 60 a month.  Future son in law got it last month  by going to a store and complaining. I want to do this online, nothing on Verizon site that discusses this.

Ok, I've been a customer for very many years, I'm on a fixed retirement
income.  I need to reduce my bills, my contract ends in  Dec. I will be
pursuing other options unless I can get some concessions from Verizon.  My
future son-in-law was given this loyalty plan, so I know this is a
reasonable request.  My phone number is (removed)  acct number

I bought a 4G SIM activation kit on the advice of a CS rep, who said I could change out the SIM card on my Verizon Droid X (currently in use with a customer loyalty plan) and switch it to a prepaid plan. But now it appears there is no SIM card to switch out. Google search finds several others have asked that question and the Droid X doesn't have a SIM card, apparently. But, the 4G SIM activation kit "Compatibility" tab claims that it is compatible with the Droid X, so what is the real story here? Do I have to send this kit back to you?

No. Call Apple Care and give them the serial number. They may be able to tell you who it is locked to.

    The issue has been resolved.
The Savings Plan HSAF had a co-requisite Health Plan HDP and we had to add this co-requisite plan for the empl.
Also the P0169 function had to be changed from BEG to CHK in the payroll schema which did the trick.

  • Is ShareEverything plan eligible for the employee discount?

I am getting 15% off now from my employee discount. The new ShareEverything eligible for the discount? Thanks

Only the data gets the discount. Because of the unlimited minutes you cant get the discount on the mins/text part.
