Employee search iview integration into Detailed navigation

Hello,
In the EP6 version of the TeamViewer it was easily added to the "Detailed Navigation" part of the page. Does anyone know how to achieve this in EP7 with Employee Search?

Any iViews can be added to the navigation panel. All you need to do is add them to another iView or page as either a related link or as a dynamic navigation. The related links appear under a section in the navigation panel called "related links", Dynamic navigation iViews appear with their proper name in the navigation panel.

Search IViews in the detailed navigation and display history data too

hi all
we have a req. that we will put an input box and a search button in the detailed navigation pane of the portal.
the user need to put the transaction code and the corrosponding iview opens up in the content area.
we first needed the way to be able to search that transactional iview inside the iviews folder but were unable todo so. what we did is to hard code the pcd location of each iview in dynpro and uploaded that file which works fine.my questions are
1.do we have a way to search for a part.transacion based on its code in a part. folder
2.we need to keep track of what iviews user searched for in past and promp him with that T-code when he starts writing the code. eg if he type S the prompt lists all T-codes which he seached in past starting from S. very much like it happens in google.com or over ur browser address bar.
plz help if anyone is possible.

What do you mean by suppressed?
Is it gone, or just closed?
If it is just closed, you can try 2 things:
1. Check if the property "Initial State of Navigation Panel" of the page has any influence.
2. There is a javascript method that opens it.
You can see it by importing the file 'com.sap.portal.layouts.framework.par.bak'.
Navigate to
System Administration -> Support -> Support Desk -> Portal Runtime -> Browse deployment
then the folder
ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/pcd
and press download.
Import from par to Developer Studio, and check the javascript files under dist/PORTAL-INF for a function called something like 'expandTray'.

How to merge top level navigation into detail navigation panel.

I want to add all the contents of top level navigation into detail navigation panel and remove top level navigation.I am looking for the code with which i can shift the top level navigation to detail level navigation.

You could edit the top-level navigation iview and set the Number of Display levels property's value to 0.
you can reach the Top-level navigation iview by going through the following path
1) Content Administration --> Portal Content --> Content Provided by SAP --> Admin Interfaces --> Top-level navigation
However, note that once you do this the whatever menus that are available in the top level will not be available anymore.
Maybe, you could copy the standard Top-level navigation into a framework page that you have created and then make the change. After doing so, you can assign it to groups/roles you want. This will ensure that the CONTENT/SYSTEM/USER administrators see the normal portal framework and specific user groups alone dont see the Top level navigation..

Search iView instead of KM Navigation iView

Hi,
the guide "How To... Tune the Performance of Knowledge Management" recommends to use Search iViews instead of KM Navigation iViews for performance reasons.
Can someone please explain how to configure these iViews? The Search iViews we use provide an input field which we don't need in this case. How can a search string be submitted, so that a Search iView directly displays the content of a folder as search result? Is there any documentation available?

There you find a sample how to start the search iView with a direct result list, by adding "QueryString=*" to the query parameter for the iview.

MSS General Information (Employee Search iview Fetching wrong Manager)

Hi,
In MSS we have General Information page which has Employee Search iview. This iview display the information in a table which has several columns... (Name, Personal Number, Manager, Position, Staffing Ration, Job... etc)
The problem is under the Manager Section its displaying the wrong Manager Name, it should show the name of manager who has logged in but instead its showing some other manager.
e.g. If David has logged in as a Manager and is searching for employees reporting him then in the employee search iview it show David's name as Manager for all his reportees) But in our case instead of David its showing wrong manager name.
We have checked from functional point of view and the reporting relationship is okay as the manager (David) is able to approve the leave requests and overtime requests raised by his reportees.
Kindly suggest a solution.

Employee Search iView and dyanmic iViews

We are implementing MSS Business package (mySAPERP 2005). We have a requirement to design a page with Employee search iView ( Team viewer), universal worklist and a report iView. What we are trying to achieve is that if a manager selects an employee in the team viewer the employee profile iviews (General Data and Personal data which are dependent on the pernr that is passed from Team viewer) should appear in the same page replacing universal worklist and the reports iView.If anyone has done this, please share your experience with us. To add an iview on the Detailed navigation side of a page:
1.Double click the page which brings up the page editor.
2.Click the Display dropdown box and choose Dynamic Navigation.
3.Add an ivew to it.Save and add the page to a role to see the results.

Pass pernr from employee search iView to abap webDynpro in Related Activity

Hi All,
I have seen many threads explaining how to pass pernr from employee search iView to custom ABAP webDynpro application in the "Employee profile" page. Also seen sap note 1112733.
I am trying to launch custom ABAP webDynpro application from "Related Activities" view found in the employee information page in MSS. I want to pass pernr selected from Employee Search iView to the ABAP webDynpro application in "Related Activities" view.
In the ABAP webDynpro application, I am listening to the portal event (as per note 1112733) but the ABAP webDynpro can not catch the event.
Anyone has passed pernr from employee search iView to the ABAP webDynpro application launched from "related activities" view?

Employee search iview serch by last name- how to make it case insensitive

Hi All,
We are using the compensation planning iview on MSS and in the top SAP has employee search iview to select the team. In their is an option to serach by employee first/last name. It works fine but the user has to type in the exact case the last name was saved in infotype.
For example - last name Brown exists in our system. If you serarch using "br" it does not find it but if you do "Br" it finds the
right employee.
My question is - is there a way to change it so that the search does not consider the lowe/upper case and finds the name if matches anyway.

How to disable automatic loading of iView/Page in detailed navigation?

Hello,
We've upgraded our portal 7.0 from SP9 to SP12.
I've noticed that SAP have added this change: Whenever a user is navigating between one role/tab to another in the top level navigation the first folder at the detailed navigation is automatically opened and the first content there is automatically loaded.
I would like to disable this option - I've looked at the new properties that have been added to the detailed navigation iView between SP9 and SP12 and could only find these two: Display Parent of Hidden Node and Open Folder When Launched.
These two are not solving this problem and they are disabled anyway.
Any ideas...?

Role and Workset Hierarchy:
Folders F1 and F2 (Roles) are defined as entry points and therefore appear on the first level of the top level navigation bar. What happen is when we click F1 (Role), the underlying folders F1a and F1b (Worksets) appear on the second level. On click on F1a the first entry F1a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
And same procedure happens with F2 role on the first level of the top level navigation bar. When we click on the F2 (Role) the underlying folders F2a and F2b (Worksets) appear on the second level of the top level navigation bar. On click on F2a the first entry F2a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
I think need to configure levels of TLN which includes top level navigation, detail navigation and content area and then need to define the entry points.

Hide the iview name in Detailed Navigation

Hi Guys,
I have create a html iview ,and added it to the Role A, Role A also include some other's iviews(web dynpro), the customer require that when entry the page it must be see the html iview first, but the html iview name hide in Detailed Navigation, and the other's iviews(web dynpro) not....

Set the Default entry to the folder to YES and invisible in Navation to YES for the html iview

Hi,
you can use the following steps to do this( for this you need to have content admin rights)
goto content administration ->portal content -> portal users -> standard portal users ->default frame work page -> desktop inner page -> open it and goto your iview which you might have created and right click and add iview to page as delta link or copy.
or
goto content administration ->portal content -> content provided by sap ->
end user content -> standard portal users -> default frame work page ->
desktop inner page -> open it and goto your iview which you might have created and right click and add iview to page as delta link or copy.
please i will suggest you better you create you own portal desktop and do all this operations since if you alter any think in the default frame work page it will have the impact on all of theuser who are using that portal.

I want to modify MSS/EmployeeSearch application. I am not able to find out the technical name(WebDnypro Application name) for this MSS/employee search I view. I know we can find it out from pcd I view properties, but in this case its different from PCD.

I had integrated the cognos iviews into SAP Enterprise portal and facing some problems.
in the navigator iview i am able to see folder structure
Public Folders and My folders .
when i click Public Folders following details are coming

on click of Product analysis (any link) link i am getting following error
Cognos 8 -> An error has occurred.
DPR-ERR-2079 Firewall Security Rejection. Your request was rejected by the security firewall.
CAF rejection details are available in the log. Please contact your administrator.
Apart form this images are not displaying in the portal iviews.

This might be a authorization issue, you might not have appropriate permissions to use the public folder. Contact the authorization team to resolve this error they might help you.

How to get PERNR from employee search(teamviewer) iView in to a WD-4-ABAP.

I had developed a new Web Dynpro for ABAP (WD4A) component for updating a custom Infotype. This application is meant for the manager to maintain some specific data through portal for his employees in the team.
WD4A application is built based on the employee number it receives from the portal.
     How could I get PERNR from employee search(teamviewer) iView in to my WD4A component?
In portal I had developed a test page by copying the standard page from MSS com.sap.pct.erp.mss.general_information, and added my WD4A application through an iView into this page.
Then I hided all the other iVews in the page except (1) employee search and (2)my WD4A iVew. On the preview everything appears fine.
During the preview of this page it triggers the WDDOINIT of WD4A component main view and then the WDDOMODIFYVIEW. When I select an employee from the employee search, then it triggers only WDDOMODIFYVIEW in the WD4A application and not the WDDOINIT anymore.
In my WDDOMODIFYVIEW I had inserted the following code:

This is not functioning form me. The action is not getting trigged with the code in WDDOMODIFYVIEW.
I had gone through several threads in u2018SDN say:
     Pass pernr to WebDynro
     MSS - General Information - Related Activities Links persnr.
     SAP Note: 1112733.
Most of the threads are answered but incomplete. In some threads people shared document personally which had been helpful.
I am stuck with this scenario of handling the employee number from employee search iView. Helpful suggestions will be rewarded for sure.

Do i understand you correctly that you are not getting the portal event ?
This can be several reasons ?
Both portal system and WDA server has to be in same domain and same proptocol to communicate with Portal event.
Please check in that direction and search posts on this topic.
