Empties Management

Hi Experts,
Can any one help me by sending a document which explains about the "Configuration Settings" as well as "Business Process" about  "Empties Management" which is a new functionality  in ECC 6.0 Version.
Thanks in Advance
G G Prasad.

Hi People,
This documentation is the one regarding Beverage Industry Solution, so it does not document exactly the standard ERP functionality regarding empties management in ECC.
Example: It says BOM type 7 are used, but this is for Beverage Industry Solution.
In the standard SAP ERP system, the BOM type 5 is used for Empties (in SD since ERP 5.0 and also in MM since ERP 6.0).
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/4a/ac853478616434e10000009b38f83b/frameset.htm
is the right resource.

  • Set Empty Managed Metadata Column - Working in 2010 and not in 2013

    I have seen posts similar to mine below but am still not finding a solution. I understand that setting an already populated managed metadata column can be problematic using SPD. However, my column is empty, and what works in 2010 is not working in 2013.
    Issue: In SharePoint 2010 On-premises, I am able to set an empty Managed Metadata column on a file in a document library via SPD workflow using the following format:
    ID;#Term|IdForTerm
    In SharePoint 2013 Online, I am attempting to create a SPD workflow to do the exact same thing (ID;#Term|IdForTerm) and am experiencing the following results depending upon the type of workflow I try:
    - SP 2010 Workflow - The workflow status result is Completed, but the managed metadata column remains empty.
    - SP 2013 Workflow - The workflow internal status becomes Started and effectively remains this way until I end the workflow.
    Any thoughts on what needs to change for 2013 when doing this?
    Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.
    Alan

    Hi,
    I try to reproduce the issue in my SharePoint Online environment, however, everything works well.
    I create term set as below:
    Then start the workflow and the value in the browser view. The result is as below:
    I recommend to create another managed metadata column to check whether it works.
    Or you can create another library to check whether it works.

  • Query on Empties Management

    Hi All,
    I have a question regarding the Empties Management functionality. As I understand, in empties management, the untied empties(packaging returns from customer) are also entered in the sales order raised by the user. And while posting the delivery, the return empties are posted as a goods return.
    Now my question is what is the process when there is a partial return from the customer. How does the system handle this? Or what happens if the customer does not return any empties at all. Since the goods return is already posted for these materials, how do we handle this? Is there a way that the customer can return more empties than has been entered in the sales order?
    Any pointers regarding this will be appreciated.

    the untied empties(packaging returns from customer) are also entered in the sales order raised by the user.
    And while posting the delivery, the return empties are posted as a goods return.
    That's correct: The untied empties are introduced in the sales order when you know that the customer will return a specific empty.
    what is the process when there is a partial return from the customer. How does the system handle this?
    When there is a partial return from the customer, the quantity in the return delivery must be manually reduced before goods issue.
    what happens if the customer does not return any empties at all. Since the goods return is already posted for these materials, how do we handle this?
    If there is no return, you must delete the delivery item or update it to zero if you allow value = zero for delivery items.
    This must be done before goods issue.
    In some situation it make sense to create 2 sales order for the same customer: One sales order to deliver the goods (with the tied empties) and a return order to get back the empties returned by the customer.
    That will allow to post the good issue for the sold products when the truck is leaving and to wait for the truck to come back to post the goods issue (return) for the return delivery.
    Is there a way that the customer can return more empties than has been entered in the sales order?
    You must create manually new return lines in the sales order & generate a return delivery item.
    Another option is to use DSD integrated with empties that solve all these problems and avoid manual work.

  • Empties Management in Purchasing (MM)

    Hello,
    I try to set up the Empties management in Purchasing with automatic empty material in the purchase Ordre but it does'nt work, please Help.
    I activated the EA-CP component, I also activated Empty management in purchasing (Purchasing>Purchase Order->Empties management and the badi)
    I created the main material (Milk), another one for the bottle (material type LEIR) with sturcture category "full product" in material master data.
    I created a new BOM with usage 5, for the main material with material item for the bottle.
    When I input the Milk material in the puchase order, the full product (bottle) is not added automatically.
    Did I miss something ?
    Thanks
    Fabrice

    Bonjour Fabrice,
    When I input the Milk material in the puchase order, the full product (bottle) is not added automatically
    I believe the full product is the milk material itself, the bottle is an empty.
    I think the "empty" material also needs a structure category as empty, I know it is possible and useful, but not sure it is mandatory.
    Did you add the "empty" material types in customizing as empties?
    Your message is now 1 month old, did you solve your problems already?
    BTW we have the MM empty solution working at a Customer site, so it definitely works and provide Logistics integration for empties.

  • Empties Management in MM Scheduling Agreements

    Hi all,
    I am aware that Empties mgt can be activated and then we use BOMs to generate components in a PO ( this is implicit in GR and again generates components in IR ) In both the PO and IR the BADi is called.
    BUT I am using scheduling agreements (SAs) not PO and I cannot see the same functionality in SAs. Has anyone used std Empties functionality with SAs? or will this be a bespoke devt?
    Thx.

    Hi,
    You have to use user exit for this.

  • Credit as per quanity in Empties Management

    Hi Experts,
    I need to implement empties in beverage industry. this is new for me.
    My Client needs to maintain the credit limit for empties on quantity basis for customers.
    I have not found any way to do it in standard SAP , Is there any way to do it ??
    Will appretiate the reply !!!

    Dear Ravi,
    In Beverage industry, an item will be having a BOM as below.
    ITEM XXX: 10 BTL
    - Full materials
    - Bottles 10 PC
    Here, you will be treating BOTTEL as empty.
    Please note, credit limit will be set either at the credit control area level or at the customer master level, not at the material master level. In case of maintaining the credit limit at the customer master level, we will be using the transaction FD32, and maintain the credit limit for the customer.
    In order to make the EMPTIES as credit relevant - ensure that the item category determined for empties have the indicator CREDIT ACTIVE in transaction VOV7 as active.
    Also, ensure that the TRANSFER OF REQUIREMENTS indicator is avitvated for your schedule line category and the requirement class determined for empties.
    If you have set up the above mentioned configuration, empties will be taken into consideration for the credit checks. thanks.
    Hope this clarifies.
    Thank you
    SP. Venkatesh

  • JSF 2: A NullPointerException hits an unexpected managed bean at submission

    Hello,
    What a strange trouble I am facing today (I am still a newbie with JSF).
    I have this web page:
    <ui:composition template="/web/authentification/login/cnam/layout_cnam.xhtml">
          <ui:define name="content">
           <devoir:formulaireDeRemise sujetExamen="${devoirRemis.sujetExamen}" idAuditeur="${devoirRemis.auditeurId}" locale="${devoirRemis.requestLocale}" />
          </ui:define>
       </ui:composition>it uses composites, and composites that use composites, and the whole page and its composites rely on a Managed Bean, DevoirRemisBean:
    @ManagedBean(name="devoirRemis") @RequestScoped
    public class DevoirRemisBean extends BaseManagedBean
    private static Logger log = Logger.getLogger(DevoirRemisBean.class);
    private AuditeurId m_idAuditeur;
    private SujetExamen m_sujetExamen;
    private CorrecteurFacade m_correcteurService = CorrecteurFacade.getInstance(getRequestLocale());
    private EnseignantFacade m_enseignementService = EnseignantFacade.getInstance(getRequestLocale());
       public DevoirRemisBean()
          log.debug("DevoirRemisBean {0} créé.", this);
       public String doPréparerRemise(AuditeurId idAuditeur, UVId idUV, SujetId idSujet)
          assert(idAuditeur != null) : "L'identifiant de l'auditeur remettant un devoir ne peut pas valoir null.";
          assert(idUV != null) : "L'identifiant de l'UE du devoir à remettre ne peut pas valoir null.";
          assert(idSujet != null) : "L'identifiant du sujet d'examen pour le devoir à remettre ne peut pas valoir null.";
          m_idAuditeur = idAuditeur;
          m_sujetExamen = getSujetExamen(idUV, idSujet);
          log.debug("DevoirRemisBean {0} associé au casier ({1},{2},{3}).", this, idAuditeur, idUV, idSujet);
          return(destination(REMISE_DEVOIR_CNAM));
      // others getters and setters...
      // Eventually each getter always call this check() method to ensure being in a good state.
       public void check()
          assert(m_idAuditeur != null) : format("L''identifiant de l''auditeur devrait être connu à l''issue de la préparation de la remise de devoir, bean: {0}.", this);
          assert(m_sujetExamen != null)  : format("Le sujet d''examen devrait être connu à l''issue de la préparation de la remise de devoir, bean: {0}.", this);
       }When the interesting composite is called,
    <devoir:formulaireDeRemise sujetExamen="${devoirRemis.sujetExamen}" idAuditeur="${devoirRemis.auditeurId}" locale="${devoirRemis.requestLocale}" />
    it produces the expected result on the web page,
    I can see in my logs these lines, that makes me happy:
    DevoirRemisBean tag.uv.DevoirRemisBean@1133ead créé.
    DevoirRemisBean tag.uv.DevoirRemisBean@1133ead associé au casier (I023895,X1,TP03).
    meaning that the expected values are at the place I want them to be.
    In the web page displayed, a new submit button now exists.

       onmouseup="if (this.className != 'BtnVertNonPresse') this.className='BtnVertNonPresse';" />(I have added <h:inputHidden> fields, for debugging.)
    This button is linked to an action that shall use another managed bean, correction, starting the same way than the other.

    Regards,
    Grunt.

    I removed all my assertions to see how far the submission could go when going unsane.
    I discovered that JSF attempts to redisplay my web page, and not to follow on the next one...
    ... so I have one explanation.
    Except that:
    There is no fields in the form that require a validation.
    (three hidden text fields, and a <h;inputTextarea> but that is not checked or mandatory).
    The form is not supposed to fail,
    and even if it had too, why the validation step doesn't carry the current managed bean at redisplay time, but instead re-create an empty managed bean?
    My form starts with a:
    <h:form id="${someId}"> where ${someId} is a scoped variable.
    Can it causes a problem during submission? Shall I use only a constant id for my form?
    What can you suggest me to do?
    Do I have a way to discover what JSF is about to complain against, before it tries to redisplay the page? I see nothing in my logs, but may be I shall redefine a log level somewhere, add one handler or something else?
    Regards,
    Grunt.
