Empty cds.log

Hi,
SAP support ask me to send them Nakisa logs (cds.log). Also they ask to clear file before (to minimize the size and remove info not regarding issue). But, after I backed up current file and cleared it (actually delete cds.log and create empty new one) Nakisa stops logging in it at all. Does anybody know the reason and how to clear cds.log correctly?
(My app is OrgChart 3.0SP2 249, OS where files hosted is HP-UX)
Best regards,
Sergey Aksenov

Hi Sergey,
You need to stop the application and then delete the log file. After deleting it you need to start the application again. To stqrt and stop the application follow these steps:

  • Error in CDS.log

    Hi Nakisa experts,
The CDS.log shows a lot of errors similar to the one shown below, when I navigate through the Org Structure in Nakisa.
Does anyone know where the problem could be?
    24/11/2009 11:39:     ERROR: CommandProcessor.getDataSet : select HierarchyID,CountValue,CountName,ElementID,CountFieldName from CountsTable where (HierarchyID=Upper('10007236')) and (ElementID=Upper('10007236')) and (HierarchyName=Upper('OrgUnitHierarchy')) and (CountName=Upper('IndirectCount_ChiefPosition'))|DC=CountConnection : Source {System.Data}: Message {The ConnectionString property has not been initialized.}
    Thanks,
    Vibhu

    Hi Vibhu,
That is a database connection issue. Does other data from the database display correctly? If not then Do an IIS reset or test your database connection. If it does then you probably need to enter the database details in the Analytics section in the Configure Staging section of the Admin Console.
    I hope that helps.

  • Entries in CDS.log file and Org Chart Link

    Hello Gurus/Luke/Stephen:
I have a live SAP connection for Org Chart 3.0 (build 5.1.32.1) for Nakisa 2.0. I have correct entries in backend R/3 system and I have right entries in Nakisa (through Admin Console). I have also done HR-OCI configuration. Still I am not able to launch OrgChart - it gives following error "Cannot find the root of OrgChart. I do have correct password, so I am not sure what is the issue. Please advise.

  • OES2 SP3 AFP How to empty AFP log file

    Hello All,
i find no information how i can empty the AFP log file in /var/log/afptcpd/afptcp.log. It has grown to 1,2 Gigabyte and is very uncomfortable to look for information in this big file.
    Any ideas ?
    Thank you
    Andreas

If you get a lot of afp activity, your probably best off if you just set the log to rotate.
create a file under /etc/logrotate.d/ and name it whatever you want.
then just enter in something like this:
    /var/log/afptcpd/afptcp.log {
    compress
    dateext
    maxage 365
    rotate 99
    size=+4096k
    notifempty
    missingok
    create 644 root root
    postrotate
    /etc/init.d/novell-afptcpd reload
    endscript

  • Empty accounting log in ISE

    Hi,
    I am using ISE1.1.1 with 2960.
Recently I found there is some empty log in accounting report.(see AAA accounting.png)
So I do a sniffer and find out that source IP is the 2960.
Then I got to check the log in "Network Device Log"(See Network device log.png)
I can see the IP address of 2960.
Can anybody know why the log in AAA accouting is empty and how to get rid of them.
Some aaa and radius config in 2960.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
In Cisco ISE to see live failed and passed authentication logs
Operations>authentications>live authentications and then click on detail.
For failed login attempts by administrator.
Monitor > Reports > Catalog > Server Instance > Server Administrator Logins report
    For understanding and configuring loggs

  • Empty incoming log on a WRT300N v1

My WRT300N has empty incoming and security logs. The outgoing and DCHP logs have information. I have upgraded to the latest firmware on the linksys site.
Is this a problem with the router or can I assume no one is trying to access my machines? It jsut seems to me there should be something in the logs. I have searched the forum and the FAQ's and see nothing about this. The Help file doesn't answer the question. I did find a post about disabling the daylight savings time checkbox and tried this, but it did not work.
would appreciate any information people could offer. Thanks in advance.

Incoming logs will only registered if somebody is trying to access something in your network... like for example if your hosting any of the ff: a VPN, an online game, a file server or if your using a P2P network like Limewire...

  • Empty ID log from NI-CAN BusMonitor

I am using NI-CAN BusMonitor with a NI USB-8473 to monitor can traffic on my system. The USB CAN is only used for monitoring not part of the system. When I run NI-CAN BusMonitor, I see one line per ArbID and I observe the number of messages incrementing for each Arb ID. But if I try to double click the id while the capture is running, I do not get the ID Log display. If I stop the capture and then double click the Arb ID, the log displays, but it is empty.
I have read the help and it appears that I should see something.
Oh yes I have logging going to a file and the file has all the messages in it, just can't figure out how to properly use the ID log feature.
    What am I doing wrong?

  • Empty call log!!!!!

I have recently changed from iPhone and am still getting used to android! The call log is always showing empty so unable to see calls. I have read previous forums and I have amended call log to show and it is still showing empty. I imported all my contacts from my iPhone by xperia transfer when.I first had the.phone. Is there any way I can get a call log at all!?!?! Thanks in advance

    Hi there.
I was facing the same problem and found some kind of a solution.
I've installed a call log from Google Play (Call Log Monitor, one with a red icon) selected all the log (with the check boxes) and delete the log. On the Phone log it appears a message saying "Call log empty", tried to make a call and the call appeared on the log.
Problem solved, with a little effort.
I think that the problem is with the recover app from Sony, so... DON'T use it
Hope this post can help you all.

    1. Touch (right arrow), and then touch Setup.
    2. Do one of the following:
    • Touch Tools.
    - Or -
    • Touch Fax Setup, and then touch Fax Tools.
    3. Touch Clear Fax Log.

  • Empty/underutilized log files not removed

I have an application that runs the cleaner and the checkpointer explicitly (instead of relying on the database to do it).
Here are the relevant environment settings: je.env.runCheckpointer=false, je.env.runCleaner=false, je.cleaner.minUtilization=5, je.cleaner.expunge=true.
When running the application, I noticed that the few dozen log files have been removed, but later (even the cleaner was executed at regular intervals), no more log files were removed.
I have run the DbSpace utility on the environment and found the following result:

I could not see anything fundamentally different between the log messages when log files were removed and when they were not. The DbSpace utility confirmed that there are plenty of log files under the minimum utilization, so I can't quite explain while the log file removal stopped all of a sudden.
Any help would be appreciated (JE version: 3.3.75).

    Hi Bertold,
My first guess is that one or more transactions have accidentally not been ended (committed or aborted), or cursors not closed.
A clue is the nLNsLocked=4999 in the second set of trace messages. This means that 4999 records were locked by your application and were unable to be migrated by the cleaner. The cleaner will wait until these record locks are released before deleting any log files. Records locks are held by transactions and cursors.
If this doesn't ring a bell and you need to look further, one thing you can do is print the EnvironmentStats periodically (System.out.println(Environment.getStats(null))). Take a look at the nPendingLNsProcessed and nPendingLNsLocked. The former is the number of records the cleaner attempts to migrate because they were locked earlier. The latter is the number that are still locked and cannot be migrated.

  • Empty console.log

We have a 10.6.7 server, originally installed somewhere in 2009. After doing some diagnostics research today I noticed several things:
    /Library/Logs/Console/$user/console.log hasn't been updated since 2009.
    There's no asl.db in /private/var/log , however it does live in /private/var.
Syslog was also broken, though I got it working with the default syslog.conf and restarting the daemon.
I understand the logging services changed a lot since 10.4, so what's the current correct information:
Is console.log supposed to work, and what kind of logs is it supposed to contain?
Is my asl.db where it's supposed to be? Is it indicative of a problem?

Are you sure the support rep realizes you're on Mac OS X?
It's not uncommon for different OS versions to store logs in different places, so he might have thought you were on some Linux or other UNIX environment. As far as I recall there's never been a per-user console log.
The closest thing I can think of is the system log (/var/log/system.log on Mac OS X but could be different on other OSes).
The alternative is that this isn't a system-level log, but it's application-specific, in which case I wouldn't know about it unless I had the same app installed.
The last option I can think of is that if this is a per-user log (as your path name implies) it would generally be stored in the user's own Log directory at ~/Library/Logs/ but even then I don't see a console.log OMM.
At this point I think your only option is to go back to the support guy to ask for more detail.
As for where you learn/find this stuff, experience counts, as well as a willingness to explore.
There is a lot of commonality across various UNIX/Linux flavors, so many online resources can provide a hint, just be aware that each OS is a little different so don't be surprised/annoyed when someone says a log file should be in one place but Apple put it somewhere else.
Apple provide a lot of hints about their specific impementation in their developer programs, but don't publicise as much for mere mortals. Just to compound the issue, things change between OS versions (usually with no peon-level documentation or explanation) as is the case with the ASL logging moving from text-based to binary.
My advice: poke around and see. There's no danger or risk to just looking.

  • OrgModeler - cds.log error SettingsResources does not exist

    Hi experts,
Has anyone encountered this error message before?
    ERROR com.nakisa.Logger - Strings : readFile : java.io.FileNotFoundException: File '/usr/sap/NKD/J00/j2ee/cluster/apps/Nakisa/OrgModeler/servlet_jsp/OrgModeler/root/.system/Admin_Config/.system/SettingsResources' does not exist
    ERROR com.nakisa.Logger - java.io.FileNotFoundException: File '/usr/sap/NKD/J00/j2ee/cluster/apps/Nakisa/OrgModeler/servlet_jsp/OrgModeler/root/.system/Admin_Config/.system/SettingsResources' does not exist
    Thanks,
    L

    Hi L,
What is the problem that you get? This could be a dummy error, as there should never be a .system folder in the Admin_Config folder. If you don't have a build called .system then you should ignore it. Preferably you should remove any folder called .system inside the Admin_Config folder since it is a bug that creates it.
    Best regards,
    Luke

  • Message-Mapping Problem with empty queue while testing

    Hello,
I want to develope an mapping to an BMEcat-structure. This mapping should be an filter.
My problem is, that everytime I want to check, if my mapping works correct, the queues for the proccessing steps keeps empty.
I filled a test case with all data I needed for the step I want to test (not the whole mapping is ready, but for this step, it is). Now I go to my mapping step an check the queue for the parameters and the queue comes up and displays the correct values. In next step I want to display the queue of an "equalsS"-Step, but this queue keeps empty as all following queues too. Sometimes there is coming up an empty "Processing log"-window.
The problem only comes up, if the target-message is a BMEcat-Structure.
Have you any solution for this behaviour? Or do you need more informations?

    Hello,
thank you for your tip, but the main problem is still existing. As you can see in the next screenshots, I build in your code and I'm sure it normally works fine. Also I filled the "have to"-Fields in the strukture, so that the check-function (F7) delivers an all right.
But still I get no queue results.

  • Oracle 8.0.6 replication - Mlog file in the master does not empty

Data in the log file in the master database does not deleted after the refresh job successfully completed for this table. I also tried the Complete refresh table. this but the log file still is not empty. All records in master table replicated to this remote site fine. What must I do to empty this log file, since it keeps on growing. Please help.

One Mlog could be used by many snapshots (mviews)
    This select:
    SELECT sl.log_owner,
    sl.master,
    sl.log_table,
    rs.owner,
    rs.name,
    rs.snapshot_site
    FROM sys.dba_snapshot_logs sl
    JOIN sys.dba_registered_snapshots rs ON rs.snapshot_id = sl.snapshot_id
select all mlog and associated snapshots (mviews).
Check for your one, how many snapshots are there.
Do refresh for all snapshots and mlog must be empty if there are no modificatiion of master table.
