Empty e-mail in Work in Progress Folder

We have GroupWise 8 running on a Windows 2008 server. The version of GroupWise on the server is 8.0.3.
One of our users started to reply to a message using the GW desktop client. She saved it as a Work in Progress. She re-opened it twice and added to it, once with the desktop client and once using Chrome and WebAccess. It was after that, that her message was empty in both clients.
Has anyone come across this before?

Might she have sent it?
Check the sent items
and even the trash bin to be sure.
Perhaps even do a search for the message incase it accidentally got
dragged into another folder.
Are other messages showing in the WIP folder? Create a new one if there
aren't any in there.

  • How do I set up Work in Progress Folder on site

How do I set up Work in Progress Folder on a site in
dreamweaver? I would like to be able to put jpegs, gifs, and html
files up in a folder that only my client can access before posting
to the "live" site. I was hoping it would be possible to allow him
to access several html files from a single folder (sort of like a
site map or contents of the folder).
    Thank you.

  • Warning before emptying junk mail folder

I am not sure if this option is disabled by default in the latest Thunderbird(31.4.0) but I used to get a warning popup asking if I am sure I want to empty the junk mail folder.
How do I enable the popup warning before emptying junk mail folder.
    Thanks in advance.

'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' > 'General' tab
    * click on 'Config Editor' button
It will tell you to be careful :)
    * In top search type: junk
    * look for this line: mailnews.emptyJunk.dontAskAgain; Value = true
    * double click on that line to toggle the 'True' to 'False'
    * close window - top right X
    * Click on 'OK'

I am having problems gettting my mail to work ... Mac telling me that my start up disk id full and to delete some files to free up space ... have done this but when i open mail from the dock it just brings up the colour wheel and nothing happening ... it shows when you right click on the mail icon that " application not responding"

If your hard drive is getting full, you need to free up, at least, 20 GBs of space on your iMac's hard drive.
If your Mac is running a fairly recent version of OS X, here are some general guidelines.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Other things you can do to gain space.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it run the automatic ans S.M,A.R.T. tests,  then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the tabs that have the ability to clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!

  • TS4424 I still can't get my mail to work.I have reinstalled Security update and combo 3 times. About ready to call Apple but mI don't think I should pay for it!!!!

I can't my Apple mail to work.  It started when I did an up date.  When I went to use mail  (the little stamp at bottom)  it said, "you can't use this version of mail with this version of OS X.  I looked on support and was told to solve the problem  by downloading combo package and security update. Did it 3 times.  I did everything.  Still doesn't work.  I even took everything mail out of applications and the library and did those two updates and still can't get it.  Could I reinstall OS X Snow Leopard and would that affect any of my documents like i photo or i tunes?  I don't want to loose anything!  I have spent way too long on this problem.  I feel like I own  PC with windows again.  Please help!!!!!!    Frustated

No need to reinstall Snow. Try trashing all the Mail.apps you have. (But don't empty the trash yet!) Do a search for those. Reinstall Mail from the DVD in Optional Installs. This will put Mail 4.2 in Applications, then run the Combo Update, which will update Mail to 4.5, and then the Security Update again, in that order.

I have an iPad 2 and receive e-mail through regular internet connection. Lately, when I delete e-mails, and clear my Trash folder, they re-appear, downloaded anew from the server and marked as unread. My e-mail Advanced Settings are selected for "Remove from server when moved from Inbox." Even when I access the e-mail accountfrom my desktop and delete the e-mails, the re-appear on my iPad. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this and what I can do to actually delete them?

Sounds like you are looking in the wrong Administrative Group container which is why you are seeing your Exchange 2010 servers in there.
When you install Exchange 2003 only you will see a container named by default as "CN=First Administrative Group" container. But this could be named anything if you changed the Organization Name on the installation when you installed the first
Exchange 2003 server into the domain/forest.
You will notice that when you install Exchange 2010 part of the AD setup is to create a new configuration container and is named by default "CN=First Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)".
So it sounds like you are not looking in the right location within ADSIEdit.
You may find the following article also helpful for this issue which is the same resolution:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2012/05/17/empty-cn-servers-container-causing-issues-with-public-folders-on-small-business-server-2011.aspx
I recommend though that you ensure your Exchange 2003 servers are fully uninstalled or no longer present in your environment before you go deleting the Servers container though.. The following Microsoft article will help with this:

  • Mail not working properly

I am happy to say that I moved from PC to a MacBook Air 11 last year, and since then I'm using 90% of Apple's apps.
    Simplicity really changed my life!
But the only app Apple is failing to give more attention is Mail.
Using Mail for work (I have two exchange and three IMAP accounts) is driving me crazy because:
    a) it takes too long to update with new incoming emails (in iPhone and iPad is perfect... almost instantaneous). When I have to view and reply an urgent email, I always have to do it from my iPhone or my iPad - or, in my MacBook, I have to shut down, wait few minutes and then open again the Mail app.
    b) might be coincidence, but after installing the latest iOS update, Mail is simply deleting few emails, for no reason at all.
    c) some times it saves al lot of email drafts that I've already sent, making me double-check if the email was really sent.
    d) it has too few text/content edition features (it's awful how Mail treats tables...);
    e) I cannot export emails in a way that I can read it in any other mail app, like Outlook.
For these reasons, I had to install and use Outlook for Mac for corporate emails (exchange), because it works (gives me confidence) and has the features I need (and I believe many others too).
Does anyone knows what might be happening with my Mail app regarding items "a", "b" and "c" above?
Does anyone knows when Apple will add more features, such as a more robust text/content edition in Mail app (item "d" above)?
Does anyone knows how to export mail messages (everything) in a way that I can import it (without having to follow "100" steps) into the latest version of Outlook 2011 for Mac (item "e" above)?
    Thank you,
    Marcello

Let me add one more item:
    f) In a new sent folder I've created to store some emails, I can only see the sender's name (myself).
    Thanks,
    Marcello

  • Why doesn,t  my mail iccon work?

Why doesn't my mail icon work?

If you moved Mail out of the Applications folder, then applied the security update, Mail has been disabled.
It must stay protected in the Applications folder, or you risk the possibility that malware might change it and use it to send spam.

  • Mail rules work for some users, don't work for others

Ready to pull my hair out over this one:
Leopard to Snow Leopard upgrade went uneventfully, except for the fact that server-side mail rules (accessed via browser at FQDN -> Mail Rules) work for several users (two, to be exact) and don't for the rest (about 15 or so).
The usual culprits have been reviewed: 'Enable Server-Side Mail Rules' is checked in Mail -> Settings -> Filters, 'Allow users to configure server-side mail rules' is checked in Web -> Sites -> Web Services, users can create vacation notices and email rules without issue via browser, permissions look fine on the contents of /Library/Email Rules and /var/spool/imap/dovecot/sieve-scripts, logs give no indication of any foul play (at least the Email Rules -> debug.log generates the same entries for both functional and non-functional users), etc.
I have noticed that /var/spool/imap/dovecot/sieve-scripts contains only two items, which - you guessed it - line up with the GUIDs of the two functional users. Theoretically every user with a rule should be represented here.
    As suggested in this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11171395&#11171395
I created both a vacation notice and an email rule for several users, thinking that may force the folder creation for those users, but no dice. I even manually created folders for a few users with their GUIDs as the folder names and assigned each user ownership and read/write access. Still nothing. Created a few new test user accounts just to rule out any legacy account weirdness (although it's worth noting that I completely redid the OD and recreated user accounts after the upgrade) and replicated the problem with these, as well. Lastly, used Inspector to compare OD attributes between functional and non-functional accounts, with no glaring differences.
    Help!

Did you find an answer? I encounter the same problem on my new MiniServer. Deleted and created all users several times, but just for some accounts mail is working.
    Do you have the answer?
(new to this site, read a lot already, but not found)

  • Can't get Mail to work - I get the spinning wheel and Mail freezes.  I have to Force Quit it.  How do I fix this?

Can't get Mail to work - I get the spinning wheel and Mail freezes.  I have to Force Quit Mail .  How do I fix this problem?

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

I have a Mac running 10.9.2. My apple wireless mouse will not scroll in Mail but works fine in other applications.
    Any suggestions?

First, see this discussion. If the solution suggested there doesn't work for you, continue.
If you've installed a Mail plugin called "Mail Unread Menu" and you know how to remove it, please do that, then quit and relaunch Mail. Test. Otherwise, see below.
    Back up all data.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/Bundles
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder may open, or you may get an error message that the item can't be found. Either result is normal. If the folder does open and has contents, move the contents to the Desktop. Relaunch Mail and test. If there's no change, put the contents of the folder back and quit Mail again.
    2. Repeat with this line:
    /Library/Mail/Bundles
This time you may be prompted for your login password when you remove the items. Make sure they're removed from the folder and not just copied to the Desktop. If necessary, copy them first and then move the originals to the Trash.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Resizing images within Mail not working in Snow Leopard

    Hi,
I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard on both my desktop (iMAC Quad Core) and my MacBook Pro. I'm now experiencing an issue when I attach images within the Mail application.
In the past, if I attached an image I could resize it by selecting the option at the lower right of the window and it would scale the image accordingly. Now if I select "large" it resizes the image as if I selected small. It's tiny, like 30KB. I tried it on both machines and I get the same thing.
This was never an issue before upgrading to Snow Leopard. In the past if I selected "large" it would scale my image down to roughly 4X6 300dpi.
Has anyone else found a fix for this issue?
    Thanks so much!
    Michael

    Hi Terence,
    thanks for your reply.
But i have now a Problem!
iPhoto 09 itself can send max. 10 pics in one mail. When i drag & drop more photos to mail as attachement, mail can´t resize photos with greater than 150dpi correctly.
I have many photos greater than 150 dpi
With new iPhoto 09 i can not send:
    1. more than 10 photos
    2. without "zipping"
with mail i can send more than 10 photos at one time but i cant resize these images!
Allso whe i use this way:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2627690&tstart=0
The only way to send more than 10 photos with resizing the images is:
    1. export these photos from iphoto to a folder with resizing function
    2. drag or attach these photos to a mail
    3. send mail
    4. delete the created folder with images
    5. empty trash
iPhoto 8 can send many photos at one time including resizing and display the estimated size of mail (e.g. Megabytes).

  • Mail not working in new mini mac

i got new mini mac and mail not working. i get this message.
You have Mail version 4.2 (1078/1084). It can’t be used on Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 (Build 10K549). For more information, click the Help button.

    thanks

Should be Mail 4.5.  With Spotlight, check to see if you have more than one version of the Mail app onboard.  Also, make sure that there is one at the root level of the Applications folder, and that it is namely simply Mail before applying the Combo.
