  • Empty files are getting created at receiver FTP server

    Hi Experts,
    I have an Idoc to File scenario where I am sending an XML file to receiver FTP server.
    Scenario is working fine but sometimes an empty file is getting generated at receiver FTP server.
    I have already selected ignore empty file at receiver channel so issue is not within PI system configuration.
    When I checked the message log I can see that almost all the files are getting created successfully without any issues, but
    for some files/messages I can see that there are below error logs.
    "Transmitting the message to endpoint <local> using connection IDoc_AAE_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Could not get FTP connection from connection pool (1 connections) within 5,000 milliseconds; increase the number of available connections"
    "Exception caught by adapter framework: Could not get FTP connection from connection pool (1 connections) within 5,000 milliseconds; increase the number of available connections."
    And after there is again success message log in the same message and it creating a file successfully during that time stamp.
    but the third party is sometime receiving empty file which I am not able to find in any trace or log (my file name is SD_timestamp.xml).
    Can you please let me know what is the solution and what adjustments FTP server need to do in order to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    The error you are getting that says "Could not get FTP connection from connection pool (1 connections) within 5,000 milliseconds; increase the number of available connections" has probably nothing to do with the empty files problem.
    I second Hareesh Gampa that you first should try "temporary file creation". You might also need to tell the FTP owner that he should only pick up files with that are written completely and that do comply with a negotiated file name schema. The temp file should have another schema of course then. He should not pick up just every file that is written. See here for details

  • Writting attached file from SOAP message to a FTP folder

    Hi everybody,
    Our scenario is an interface which receives a SOAP message with a file attached. As we don't need to do any mapping into the attachment, we are supposed to deliver that file as it is into a FTP folder.
    Our problem is that we cannot find how to configure File comm channel to write the attached file and no the SOAP XML message which is what we are getting now. Any help on this?
    Thanks in advance.

  • File not getting posted at target directory

    Hi all,
    I am crearting a simple bypass scenario in which no mapping is involved. I simply have to pick up a file with particular naming convention from the FTP location and write it to other location at the target side with some different naming convention.
    The file is getting picked up from the FTP location but is not written at the target location?
    Can you please suggest me what could be the reason?
    Is there something to do with adapter specific parameters?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sachi

    Hi,
        Are you seeing any for the same then post the same...
    at what stage you are stuck at...
    is sender adapter picked the file and sent to Integration engine ? check at sender adapter communication channel for logs..
    is message success in SXMB_MONI ?
    is receiver adapter resulted in error ..then check the logs and post the same if any error there....
    Also check the target directory have sufficient privileges for the file operaitons..

  • File not getting created in Target Directory..........

    Hi All,
               We are trying a IDOC-File scenario & trying to create a XML file on the receiver side........All the mappings have been checked & everything is working fine.It shows success in SXMB_MONI. But the file is not getting created at the target directory..... Checked the component Monitoring and message  monitoring as well, which is also successful...
    What could be the reason of such behaviour, and is there a way to track the where the target file is getting placed?
    Please Help

  • Dynamic file name while sending to target FTP

    Hi Experts,
    we have a scenario wherein we are trying to implement dynamic file names.
    The scenario is IDOC to file, and  we need to append the data corresponding to all the IDOC triggered n a daily basis.
    Its like  the file abc_01will contain data for day 1(data of oll the IDOC in that day).For day to we need to dynamically name the file as abc_02 and so on.
    But before naming the file as abc_02 we need to check if abc01 is present or not .If abc_01 is not present then for day 2 file  we need to give the name as abc_01 and so on_.This condition is need to be checked becasue there may be the case that a file may not be picked by the script running  at the target system.
    can anyone let me know how to check whether file are correctly picked at target.
    Regards,
    srinivas.

    Hi  Srinivas,
    I think you can achieve this with the next scenario:
    - For getting all the Idocs info, you need a ccBPM to collect them, and then, download them to a file.
    - To dynamically put the filename, you need to use Dynamic Configuration at the File Receiver Adapter (in the Message Mapping, you can write a UDF.)
    - And to check if the daily file exists, you can also write an UDF and then decide the name of the output file.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Juan

  • Files not getting picked from the FTP site

    Dear All,
    We are having one File-XI-RFC scenario running in XI-PRD Server. Sometimes what happens is that files available in the FTP site are not getting picked by the File adapter. I have checked in the adapter monitoring and communication channel is active there. Also, there are no errors regarding this in SXMB_MONI. I have configured alerts also but for this case no alerts are getting trigerred. And also when I am reactivating that particular communication channel then that file is getting picked instantaneously.
    Can anybody please guide me on what might be the real cause for this as this error is happening randomly.
    regards,
    N.Jain.

    HI,
    Have you used per File transfer parameter in FTP Communication channel.
    It makes the FTP adapter inactive in ideal time.
    So add the poll interval may be for every 30 mins or something like it. It will forcefully activate the FTP port after every 30 mins. You may have the poll interval for every 1 min. Only the files to be picked up are getting logged in in XI monitoring.
    So there will be no garbage collection of unwanted messages in Monitoring.
    Thanks

    Called JSP, print.jsp:
    try {

    outStream.write("BINARY OUTPUT".getBytes());
    outStream.println("PRINTLN OUTPUT--"+request.getParameter("empID"));
    outStream.flush();
    outStream.close();
    } catch {}
    As you can see I am just trying to Write some string in the print.jsp
    The word opens up but nothing is WRITTEN in it. Have tried all the OutputStreams. Please help why is it not getting printed even if set proper headers.

    There are some issues with this PDF file.  It's not tagged but even still it has some real problems.  I checked the file to see what created it and it was something called "Wine Postscript Driver" and the PDF Producer was "GPL GhostScript 9.10"  When you check the file in Preflight then you will begin to understand that this is a poorly created PDF file.  Here is a bit of the PDF Syntax report:

  • Oraarch file getting generated very often in /oracle/ SID /oraarch/

    Dear All
    I am facing a problem of getting oracle archive (oraarch) generated very frequently nearly 50MB file in less than a minute due to which my Filesystem capacity of Oraarch is getting full soon.
    I have monitored there is no any batch job, Upload job, or any loaded job going even in Idle time in late night the same frequency of Archival is going so in a duration of 6-7 hours i am getting the total archive of 50GB.
    I have Oracle 10g Patch Set 10.2.0.4.0 and all the 39 Patches & 2 CPU Patches applied by Opatch & MOPatch and all the Oracle 10g Parameter  are set as per the note 830576.
    Can you please let me know what can be the issue?
    Thanks & Best Regards
    Rahul

    You probably have statistics being populated and AWR running. Oracle 10g has system jobs that are set to run frequently (i.e. every hour, every night, etc).
    column repeat_interval format a70
    select job_name, repeat_interval, enabled from dba_scheduler_jobs;
    column what format a50 word_wrapped
    select job, last_date, next_date, broken, what from dba_jobs;
    50mb is probably too small for your environment. You'll probably want to at least double that... at least.
    And if your oraarch is filling up so frequently you should consider increasing the space of oraarch. It sounds like your system is much busier than you expected.
    Run this command to get an idea of what Oracle recommends for your redo log file sizes...
    SELECT TARGET_MTTR,ESTIMATED_MTTR,WRITES_MTTR,WRITES_LOGFILE_SIZE, OPTIMAL_LOGFILE_SIZE FROM V$INSTANCE_RECOVERY;
    If that doesn't work it's probably because you're not using the system parameter fast_start_mttr_target... which I guess is something SAP advises against using?  I'm an Oracle DBA but a SAP newbie so I'm still learning what parameters SAP wants me to set and why
    Hope that helps..

  • Some files never getting transferred to our FTP Server

    We are moving configuration changes from one instance to another using 'Manage Implementation Projects' functionality. This PeopleTools functionality creates DM scripts to transfer functionality like Billing, Contracts, etc to another instance when you click 'Export'
    It is supposed to send the scripts to 'FTP Server > psdata > PSFILEDIR' on a Windows system in Financials 9.1 using PT 8.53.04. We constantly get a 'Permission Denied' from this process when trying to do this.
    This problem happens in all DEV instances, yet the process works fine  in the Prod instance. I have examined the permissions in the PSFILEDIR and compared them in DEV and PROD and find no differences

    I guess you didn't like my last answer.  So I'll try again.  First off, forget FTP.  We don't even care about FTP and adding it to the Title of the question just confuses things and maybe gets you less responses.  In production, does this open a Dialog box/Save window when the  export finishes?
    My assumption is that you have the variable PS_FILEDIR set to \\s-wpstbftp1\s$\psdata\PSFILEDIR for the app server.  Is that true?
    You are failing on line 10 which is
    &PROJECT_FILE = GetFile(&FILENAME, "W", %FilePath_Relative);
    The PSAPPSRV process is trying to open a file in write mode.  It's using Relative Path which appends &FILENAME to the path which is determined by either PS_FILEDIR or PS_SERVDIR.  This part of the code is not even the part where the file is supposed to be placed at a final destination.  This is very initial step in creating the file, nothing is being written yet.  The PSAPPSRV process at this point knows nothing about FTP or other network transfer protocols, it simply knows that it should use \\s-wpstbftp1\s$\psdata\PSFILEDIR as the path. To the PSAPPSRV process this is a path that is locally available on the server,wWhen the system call comes through to the OS to attempt to open this file, the operating system is what allows this to seamlessly connect to a network resource.
    There are two potential points where for this and they both relate to the user running the PSAPPSRV process.
    You are using the Admin share for the S: drive on s-wpstbftp1.  This means any connection to this PATH must be made as a user that is an Administrator on server s-wpstbftp1.
    The PSAPPSRV processes must be running as a user that is an Administrator on the other server.  This requires configuring the Oracle ProcMGR Windows service to run as a user that has access to the resources in question.
    So to fix this you need to look at the ProcMGR service and set it to run as an Administrator user from s-wpstbftp1.  This may require additional tasks such as setting up that user on the PeopleSoft server.  Use task manager to look at what user is running the PSAPPSRV processes and make sure it's the user you need it to be.
    In my humble opinion though, this is bad configuration:
    You shouldn't be using Admin shares
    I don't like relying on remote server paths that aren't redundant storage devices (NAS or SAN).  What if this server is down and other processes need to use this path?
    You appear to be expecting this file at a location where it is created for further processing by the code, not the final destination.  The file is intended to be downloaded by the user.  I don't know why the developer decided to leave the file on the file system, but they may decide to clean up after themselves or change how this works in the future.  The file is created, inserted into the database, then read from the database, sent to the user, and deleted from the database.  The code calls DetachAttachment which the PeopleCode Language Reference book says:
    Use the DetachAttachment function to download a file from its source storage location and save it locally on the end-user machine. The file is sent to the browser with appropriate HTTP headers to cause the browser to display a save dialog box to the user.

  • Output file not getting generated.

    I have a scenario R/3->XI->Legacy system. When the file is generated by a program, unix script runs and moves the file to FTP server. From there, it is moved to output folder on Legacy system. I have an issue where I am not able to see the output file from the FTP server to the Legacy system. There are no errors seen on message monitor or RTWB. I also checked the program, Unix script, FTP server is all running. What can I do for troubleshooting? I have checked almost everywhere. I also checked the server port XI connects, the system login, etc.
    Any suggestions or ideas?
    Thanks.

    Rajan
    What I understand from your saying is:
    With a program R/3 is generating a File. So here there is no XI role.
    Then XI is picking this file and sending to FTP server. So File-XI-File scenario. First of all are you sure that your R/3 is generating the file what XI is expecting? If yes then your XI will pick up and you will see in SXMB_MONI. If not first find out whether it is generating or not. If it generates and if you are unable to pick the file then check the authorisations. Also if you are doing Content conversion kindly go to adapter monitor and find out whether you can see any error?
