Empty inbox, but emails are still on server and are on harddrive

My inbox is empty, just a white blank space, even though the blue numbers say there are emails, and even though the emails are still on the server, and even though previous days emails are saved to my harddrive.
The Mail program won't display them.

If your mailboxes, or at least some of them, originated in Panther, I want you to read the article at the link below, and perhaps get back to me with some observations, before attempting any changes:

This issue of leftover files applies not only to mailboxes you have previously created (which are in the Mailboxes folder the article mentioned) but can also apply to those mailboxes in account folders created prior to the upgrade to Tiger.
Also, please report the size of each file or folder. Do not, however, try to list the files that are within the folder named Messages, that is found in each and every mailbox. It is very important to compare the size of any file named "mbox" with that of the Messages folder. If the mbox is greater in size than the Messages folder, then not all messages have been converted to be in the Messages folder.
The path to the Mail folder is Home/Library/Mail -- within the Mail folder are one or more account folders and the Mailboxes folder.

Hello Susan.
It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. HT4519 Default email is set but emails are being sent from another account

I have set up my email accounts on my iPad and set the default email as my home email. I have just noticed that all emails sent from my iPad are being sent from a different account. What am I missing?

Edit the address book entry to uncheck use display names. If you want to disable it completely Tools menu (Alt+T) > options > advanced >reading and Display and turn off the use of display names.
You never had this issue with Outlook.... The question is what did the recipient see, not what did you see. If they did not use Outlook there is a good chance they saw what was in their address book. You can address your mail as sent by "Very Important person from Very Profitable Company" If I add you to my address book as "The Goblin" I see "The Goblin" This is because Thunderbird places control in the hands of the user. Outlook does not. Note the Multiple ways to view a message body on the view menu.
I get your frustration, but your no longer using Outlook. Outlook is an excellent exchange client. I find it actually does email badly.

Thunderbird stopped downloading emails from the web server and now when I try to add a new account I get a message to say it cannot find the email server.

Thunderbird was working and then for no reason it stopped downloading emails from the web server. I can access my emails in the web server okay. I have tried to remove my account and then add it again as a new account but I get a message saying that Thunderbird cannot find the email server. I have also tried to uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird but with the same result. I have also tried to remove the default mail server but have been unable to do so. How can I fix this?

I figured out a workaround.... Since I can get e-mails to populate via iSync and my other computer is running Leopard (it's a powerpc chip and can't run Snow Leopard), I added the account on the other computer and got the new account to populate into my SL machine with iSync. I don't like that I can't actually add the account directly, but at least this got me working.

The calendar icon on my iphone 6 shows that I have 2 items in my inbox but when I click on it it does not open the inbox but goes black for a second and then returns to iphone

How do I set up Apple Mail with Yahoo (IMAP) so I can delete mail on my iphone but leave it on the server and iMac.

I am trying to maintain my inbox on my imac while not carrying around all my mail on my iphone. As of now, I only seem to be able to sync the inboxes. If I delete a mail on my iphone, it disappears on both the server and imac. I only seem to be able to make it move the mail to the deleted mail box and keep it there.

That's the way IMAP servers work. The messages really live on the server; the iPhone and the iMac just view them.

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e.not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Empty inbox - Nokia Email

Hello everyone,
I have an E71 with nokia email (email.nokia.com) set up for my gmail account.
This worked well for a long time, until a few days ago.
My inbox remains empty all the time. I can't find why that is...
- reinstalled my nokia email application
- tried to change the server properties on email.nokia.com
The sended items folder works, also changing a mail to 'unread' shows up in my gmail account (on the web).
Could anybody help me?

Regarding your email, may I ask about how did you set up your email on your phone? If you set up the email through Menu > Mail > Gmail, try to select "Other" instead then set it up manually the email. Try to check also the connection that you are using. You can check this in Menu > settings > Configuration > Activate configuration > Sim 1 > Web > Select the right connection that you have there. After doing this, try to set up the email again. Try to follow these steps and keep us updated on what will be the outcome.

Cannot get mail, but email is still retrieved

I see several threads on a similar topic, but not on this specific issue.
I have two email accounts set up on my phone. When I am using my email, I get the "Cannot get mail. Connection to servers failed" popup intermittently. The weird thing is, I'm still getting all of my mail, so this popup is particularly annoying, since it is providing me, repeatedly, with false information.
I already deleted one of my email accounts and reentered it, but the problem persists. Really don't want to do it for my other email account too, but I guess I would if you guys said I really had to.
This is just about the stupidest problem I have ever had with my iphone.

OK. Did it. I was only reluctant because my gmail account sometimes locks me out when I do that.
Now both Hotmail/outlook and gmail have been deleted and re-added. The problem persists.
Any other thoughts?

Panel Lights Indicate empty cartridges - but they are not empty!

I have an HP Officejet Pro K850 printer. The Magenta and yellow cartridge lights illuminated and I installed new cartridges with 2012 expiration dates. The lights will not go out and the printer will not print. I replaced all cartridges with new HP catridges and the magenta and yellow lights remain illuminated no matter what I try. I have unplugged, turned off, rebooted, re-installed. Nothing works. The printer will not print AT ALL while those lights are lit. Is there anything I can do to get my printer to work?

“Top Sites” is hot, but I’ve never used that funny dots without any mouse-over text.
After deleting (before starting Safari) it’s restored by a default TopSites.plist, it seems these cookies
- are only reloaded when viewing the Top Sites (?)
- are not among my reappearing cookies, I have never seen such a cookie / cache on my system before (e.g. expedia, orbitz, monster, usatoday, disney, craigslist).
And Top Sites would not explain why the Web Inspector has different infos regarding use of cookies and local storage than Safari’s “Privacy” tab.
After playing with deleting TopSites.plist, without surfing, suddenly I have ”121 cookies or other data” at Safari’s Privacy tab, nearly all are listed as “Cache” or “Cache, Cookies” but the Web Inspector doesn’t show any of them, only my google.co.uk items.

BB Acct Terminated but email account still active as rejects only - how to terminate?

I changed from BB to Apple I-Phone. AT&T was the carrier for BB. AT&T continues to be the carrier for my Apple. AT&T said the emails to my [email protected] account would just stop. When people send to my primary acct which was the same email when i had the BB - they receive a reject from the [email protected] account. The emails to my primary acct are received. Both AT&T and BB are clueless as to how to stop this. I have deleted everything on my computer that has anything to do with BB. The SIM card has been removed from the BB - the account was closed several months ago. Suggestions?

Only your carrier and BB have access to the necessary systems to see what is happening and correct it. From what you describe, there is nothing you (as an end user) can do...only someone at the system can do anything about it.

Apple ID email correct but emails are sent to another address

I have two email address on my home computer but only one comes to me on my iPad. The iPad has the correct email address and my Apple ID has the correct email address, however whenever I need a reset for password for my iPad they send it to the wrong email address. I don't know how that happened and can't see it in my profile.
How can I correct this?

Don't worry about this now as it seems to have corrected itself after I went in and reset my own identity.
