Empty Navigation Tree error in SRM 7

Hello Experts,
I'm setting up an SRM 7 system. I've configured most of it, but when I test login into the web UI, I get an "Empty Navigation Tree" error with the following text: "The user menu tree for user <username> is empty. Please contact your system administrator".
Here's some additional information:
System version: SAP SRM 7.0
Component: SRM_SERVER 701 SPL 0004
Portal-Independent Navigation Frame is Active (we don't have a SAP Portal installed)
Roles have been regenerated, and my user has been assigned to the org structure correctly.
Org structure has been setup with required attributes.
How I'm doing this test:
1. Login to SICF
2. Go to SAP -> BC -> NWBC -> SRM -> Test Service.
3. This takes me correctly to a "SAP Netweaver" web page, where I click on the "Login" button.
4. A pop-up window appears where I type in my username & password.
5. I get the error message mentioned above.
I'm not really sure what I'm missing.

I've had the same issue and the fix for it is to configure in tcode SU01 some roles for the user you are using to access the portal. Some common roles are:
/SAPSRM/ADMINISTRATOR
/SAPSRM/EMPLOYEE
/SAPSRM/OP_PURCHASER
/SAPSRM/RECIPIENT
/SAPSRM/SECRETARY
/SAPSRM/ST_PURCHASER
Perhaps it won't help you, since the post is not recent, but it will help if someone encounters the same issue.

    I have a problem on my anonymous role. When i click on the link page of a km navigation IView in the detailed navigation tree, the IView open itself but the navigation tree disappear and i have a Javascript error :

  • SE80 navigation tree area display error

    Hi,
    have problems with navigation tree area overlay in SE80.
    Tree vanishs, instead coding (or some other application) pops up there. After restart SE80 it works again for sometime.
    Does anybody know this behaviour?
    Is it a problem with SAP GUI version?
    System is: SAP_APPL ECC5.0
    withh ABAP_BASIS 640 (level 13).

    I had same problem with mine. There is a work around to bring back the tree structure. There is a seperator between Code and the Tree. Move that a little bit and your tree comes back.

    Just did a full install of WLP SP4 on Win XP Pro SP2
    Starting WLS and using the console in both an ex-SP3 domain and a newly
    created (and empty) SP4 domain, the console navigation tree isn't working.
    The console HTML pages are fine.
    i.e. clicking on the + of a tree node or right clicking within the tree area
    produces nothing.
    There are no applet type error indications on browser status line.
    It was working fine for the just uninstalled SP3 version.
    Is this caused by an out-of date browser plugin or some MS IE security
    weirdness? My settings show I'm using the MS JVM
    Any advice would be appreciated

    and the problem dissappeared.

  • How to access KM documents from detailed navigation tree area in EP???

    Hello Gurus,
    I want to simulate the portal navigation. I want to show a page also with a detailed navigation tree with links to several KM documents on left frame and a content area for such content files on right frame.
    I have decided to modify standard par file "com.sap.portal.navigation.lightdetailednavigationtree" and I tried to modify JSP to show dinamically several links to KM documents applying logic based on webdynpro tutorial "Using Knowledge Management funcionality in Web Dynpro applications". But a runtime error occurs. I don´t know if I must add sharing references in portalapp.xml for using such classes and also I don´t know the way to do it.
    It would be really grateful if somebody could guide me through this issue or give me another more proper solution.

  • Strange problem about navigation tree loading.

       I have one workset which contains 2 iviews. And there is one navigation tree in the left.
       Sometime when some users click on the navigation tree, the EP always display "loading..." and it seems hangs......
       The problem is very strange and I cannot see any error log.
       Anybody have same experience ?
       We are using EP7 sp9.

  • 30EA1 /2.*: Double-clicking objects in the navigator tree

    Hi,
    There is an inconsistency in double-clicking objects in the navigator tree:
    When Preferences - Database - ObjectViewer - Open Objects on Single Click is checked, double-clicking e.g. a table in the navigator will still open it the same way as single-clicking it.
    However, when Preferences - Database - ObjectViewer - Open Objects on Single Click is not checked, double-clicking the table in the navigator will open it, and expand the columns. The latter is quite irritating, especially on large tables.
    Can this be bugged, so double-clicking the table in the navigator will just open it?

    The node is expanded on double click irrespective of what the preferenceIs this a typo or does it really expand always for you? For me it only expands with "single click objects" disabled.
    windows explorer also does the sameYes, and I'd even say that's the desired behaviour, especially since it's the only action taken.
    Common sense and standards are against taking 2 different actions at the same time. One should override the other.
    Ideally, double click with "single click objects" disabled would just open the object, and double click with "single click objects" enabled could expand the node as in the Windows Explorer (but doesn't have to).
    So that's almost completely the other way around as we get it now.

  • Opening new window in xMII Portal navigation tree

    I'm doing a 5-level deep drilldown where each drilldown needs a new window (browser page). I do it with JavaScript and window.open(strURL); and xMII 11.5.
    This works well with "standalone" pages, but I would like to use xMII Portal navigation tree all through.
    So, is there a way to open a page (with JavaScript) in xMII Portal Navigation tree so that user gets "jumped" to this location while staying in portal without a new window or popup window. Just like I would do with mouse (navigate tree, open page) but with code?.
    I have found nothing relating to this in SDN or help files.

    If you specify a target attribute of "MainContentWindow", it should open up in the portal content area.

  • What is a c-tree error #230 ???????????????

    Last week I was in the process of making a PDF, out of nowhere I get "unexpected internal c-tree(R) error #230 (uerr_cod=0)" What does this error code even relate to? Since that error, I can make a PDF but I can't view it...this error comes up and freezes Adobe Acrobat when I try to view a PDF. And I can't use Photoshop 6.0 either, it opens and an image may open but then this same error comes up. My Mac seems to be functioning otherwise. Disk First Aid show no errors. I have found CTSTATUS.FCS log files in Abobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat that show this C-tree error. Is it memory, extensions, directory? Some where else I got a suggestion to use utitlity program like Diskwarrior etc., to fix it (on the topic of diskwarrior...which diskwarrior version can Mac OS 9.2??) Thanks

    I've never heard of a c-tree error. A b-tree error is a hard drive directory problem.

    The current version of DW 4.x is for OS X. You will need version 3.x for OS 9. Alsoft doen't show DW 3 on their web site. but it can be obtained by contacting them. If you send an email or call them, ask about a c-tree error.

  • File Item order in a Navigation Tree

    Hi,
    A consultant previously adapted the Navigation Menu Portlet from OPS to display the navigation tree for 'Basefile' items. He created an item type that builds a tree and when a link representing a file is clicked the file will appear in a frame next to the tree.
    The portlet uses wwv_user_corners and wwwsbr_all_items to build the tree.
    The portlet displays the links for the files within a folder ordered alphabettically by the display link for the file. What we want to do is to order them by the direct address url of the file, ie the file name. This would allow the page builder to display the file links in the order he wants by prefixing the file names with numbers to control the order.
    We are having difficulty identifying the right view/table in portal that has the direct address. wwdoc_window$ appears to have the information we want but we are having difficulty determining the right fields to use for the join with wwsbr_all_items.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    In standard SAP, "Return order(RE)" can be created either with reference to "Billing document" OR "Sales order" and there is no Madatory reference for Return order (RE).
    Therefore, Return order can be created without  any reference also ,in standard system.
    In Copy control (VTAA), you can find  OR  to  RE  as source and target document pair.
    Similarly, in copy control (VTAF), you can find  F2  to  RE  as source and target document pair.
    If it is required in your organisation, then you can mark "reference mandatory" for Return order (RE).
    When you create a Return order(RE) with reference to Sales order(OR),in Copy control (VTAA), no Item category has been proposed for the Target document RE, therefore it is determined from the assignment in the customisation ,as below.
    Sales doc type + Item category group + Item usage(if any) + Item category of higher level item(if exists)  = Item category.
    e.g, RE  +  NORM  +  (blank)  +  (blank)   =  REN
    If ,you create the Return order(RE) with reference to the Billing document (F2), then in copy control(VTAF) at item level, Item category(REN) has been proposed for the target document, so system copies that to target document RE.
    So, as beacuse you are creating the Return order(RE) with reference to the Sales order(OR), you have to check the assignment in customisation as above.
    Beside this, "Credit for Return(RE)" is always created with reference to the "Return order(RE)" and  NOT with reference to the "Return Delivery(LR)", in standard SAP.
    That is why ,if you check the Item category REN, you will find the "Billing relevance" as "B"(Order related Billing docuemnt).

    Developer2000 (v1.5), I did not have this problem and the form

  • BIG Pickle---i have a B-TREE error and need B-HELP !!!!

    I speciffically bought this G4 cuz it was suppose be a bit different......called a 'custom built' dual 1.2.5 G4 mmd. i got it right when the G5 was introduced and yes this time i new about the new 32 bit arch. and all the new goos stuff....BUT.......i needed to run my OS9 apps.......would have cost me thouse and to upgrade everything.
    my point is......was that true......i was told that a G5 could not run OS9 either could many of the new G4s.......so whats all this about 'partitioning'.......why couldn't i have partisitned a new G5 to run 'classic' or OS9.2.2 ?
    I say all this cuz even though i have adabted slowly to OSX, i still need my OS9 for many things........BUT IT DOESN'T WORK !!!......i startup in ( and get a BOMB error-2 what turns out to be a [B-Tree -keys out of order] but can't be fixed by first aid.......CAN'T.
    So what was so 'custom' about this G4 ?
    -1 what app-fix-utility will fix this B-Tree ?
    (must be something other then clean-install)
    -2 can anyone tell me what made this G4 cost 2400 at the same time a new G5 cost the same ?
    (was that a scam to sell out their stock OR like in may cases as techknowledgy moves on sometimes there are certain things that have unique properties that you won't see again)
    The b tree issue only happenes apon trying to open OS9, even in seperate HDs. i emailed 'disk warrior' and they can't say for sure......so im hoping a real MAC addact can help me.

    Ok Carl.......I have what is called a 'dual-boot' G4, w/ dual 1.2.5. I bought it the same month the G5 came out and you bet i wanted that 32-bit arch i had been reading about....BUT more then one sales person told me that to 'their knowledge' the new G5 and even the recent G4s weren't designed to run OS9..........and remember, before {X] was [9]....and that was the big deal, well like many of us all my apps were OS9 and after hearing that i felt i would need to upgrade litterly EVERYTHING which would cost even more then the fancy G5, so to play it safe i blew 2400 on this dual-boot which Apple was advetising as the G5 came out so i never got a definitive answer if i made the right choice........i explain all this cuz i assumed this B-tree error would have been one of the issues the dual-boot would have been designed to deal with.
    All that being said, im still not a 'pro'.....serious amature so i don't have the funds to continully keep up-grading this 'tool' that i use to edit basic video-music projects on. I get it to work just how i like it and am comfortable with, and viola'.......i need not one or two apps but several to do what i did PERFECTLY yesterday, i can't even go to the new sleek apple site and view the new FCP cuz i don't have the latest QT cuz i don't have the latest OS.........to me that is absurd .
    Ok sorry about the rant but it does pertain to this. There are some cool FX i simply can't do in OSX cuz i don't have all the same plugins i did in 9......follow........so i open OS9 from startup disc and get this ERROR 2.......i did try to fix from outside reapair app and got the same mess. saying it can't be fixed with that.
    funny thing is i was forced to do a clean install last year on my main HD, moved all apps and files to HDD2.......so not sure how this happened, i allso have issues w/ TRASH while im in OSX from this main HD, they 'dissapear' but don't delete space........"where do they go?????" i also have these phantom zero k files that can't be trashed, they all have this weird 'nunununununu' after the ext. I click on it and BOOM it vanishes, then reapears. i think they are linked to PC files that got in here.
    any idea what that is ?
    so im hoping that all this is related to this B-tree deal.........so if it simply a matter of DISK WARRIOR....what version do i try, remember im still using [OS 10.2.8]
    so any ideas you have i will certainly appreciate.......G4-G5 G whizz......im happy w/ this box for the most part, but these anomolies make it sound like a PC.
