Empty page Cache When Page is left

Hi
I have an Application that it is working correctly but needs a little enhancement.
My report Page has a Reset Button (which clears all the Cache for Items on the Page).
What I would like to do is clear the cache but only whenever somebody leaves the page.
They can currently leave the page by by pressing the Browser Back Button or by Using the Tab.

I submit the page on pressing the Go Button. This opens up another region which runs a query and displays the report.
If the user exits without pressing the reset button then the parameters are still retained if the page is left and re-entered.
This means that a long running query may be executed totally unnecessarily, without the parameters required by the user.
I do set the values on first loading but as I said I keep submitting the page which allows the hidden region to be displayed.

I tried using 'prepareModel' as a refresh condition, but I can see always executables are getting executed. Does 'prepareModel' behaves differently for .jsff when compared to .jspx ?

ADF Regions have a slightly modified lifecycle. However, prepareModel behaves the same. Its marking a specific time in the ADF request lifecycle when the iterators are refreshed. Try prepareModelIfNeeded

Changing pages order (when Pages thinks they are continues)

Hello,
I'm making a Brochure. I have three pages that Pages recognise them as one when I select them. I want to switch position to these pages (like putting the last first etc). Here is a screen-shot if it's not clear:

I tried doing this by adding page breaks at the end of each page but apparently didn't work. This probably happens because I created each page using "enter" and not "new page", but now I don't know how to go through that.
If anyone knows a tip please share

How do you recover a pages document when pages crashes before you can save it for the first time

Pages crashed unexpectedly before I had a chance to save it for the first time. How can I recover that document? It must be out there somewhere!!

Problem with page cache clearing

I have a button that exits HTML DB and returns to our portal main page. That is done through a URL, and not a page number. There is no way to reset page cache with a URL branch. So I made a page that has a branch that calls the URL, and then I changed the button on the page to branch to this page and do the proper page cache resets before calling the other page that branches to the URL. However, the page cache is not being reset when I do this.
Here is the page flow
page 10 - Select a record for update
page 20 - Display data using an ID that is on page 10
If Return to Menu is clicked branch to page 1 and reset page 10 and page 20
Page 1 - Branches to URL
When I go back to page 10 from the application server page page 10 & 20 are still populated.
If I change page 20's return to menu to branch to page 10, then the reset does occur. What am I doing wrong? How do I reset the pages when leaving HTML DB?

Validations, like other components, can have conditions that observe the current request value. This value is set to the button name when a button submits the page. So you could have a condition on a validation like 'When request != Expression 1' and in the Expression 1 field type the button name (check the button attributes to confirm the case-sensitive name and submit the page in debug mode to see the value of request when you click the button).
About clearing page cache when branching to URL -- not sure what you're after: Cache can be cleared if an HTML DB page is invoked via URL. You specify clear-cache options in the branch definition which you can observe in the URL that invokes the target page. If you mean that you want the cache of one or more HTML DB pages to be cleared "when" a branch to a non-HTML DB page is taken, that doesn't really make sense because nothing much happens during a branch except to call the HTML DB engine's accept procedure or to do a URL redirect. So all you can do is specify some action to happen "before" a branch is taken, e.g., clear cache on pages x,y,z using a page process, or specify that the clear cache action is to occur "after" the branch is taken as manifested in the resulting URL to an HTML DB page. For something to happen "when" a branch is being done presumably would be after page processing but before a redirect, which we already support in the form of page processes.

When will iOS 5 Safari page caching be fixed???? WHEN????

I frequently read digest blog pages - page 1 has 20 lines of sub-pages 2, 3, 4, 5, with a link to the full page x article. I load page 1. I link to page 2. I go back to page 1. I link to page 3. And so on....
The next day all the pages have be renewed. Page 1 comes up. I follow a link to a new sub-page. I go back. I'm on yesterday's version of page 1.
There is one or both of two problems:
1. The browser is not updating the cached version of Page 1 when I return to it the next day. That is, I can hit the bookmark and get today's version of Page 1, but when I go to a sub-page and return, that back button loads the old, cached version, which has not been updated.
2. The back button does not check for updates. It just loads whatever's in cache.
FIX THIS, APPLE. IT'S REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLY ANNOYING. AND EASY TO FIX!!!

Image from BLOB now showed when page cache set

After setting page cache to 1hour, page load faster but images not showed.

For me i dont thing, this problem occurred. As i checked by setting the page cache to 1 hour. After that images loaded normally as usual.
I tried with my mozilla browser. In which browser you tried, may be your browser fault.

Could be a third party app preventing you from being able to login.

Quit the MAS if it's open.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left then open the Library folder then the Caches folder.
Move the com.apple.appstore and the com.apple.storeagent files from the Caches folder to the Trash
From the same Library folder open the Preferences folder.
Move these files Preferences folder to the Trash: com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist
Same Library folder open the Cookies folder. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the MAS.

ADF in Jdev 10.1.3.2 - Wrong Page Opens When "Open Link in New Window" Used

We are former Oracle Forms/Reports developers and Struts developers in the early stages of a new project using ADF in JDeveloper 10.1.3.2. We are all new to this development environment (though not new to Java), so apologies in advance if this is trivial.
Our early work is based on samples extracted from Oracle's ADF Tutorial for Forms/4GL developers and is pretty simple at this stage. We have done little more than create a page layout and implemented skeletons of each page. As long as we click a link with the left mouse button, we can navigate from page to page as expected, no problem.
The strangeness starts when we right click a link, and select Open in New Window. For example:
(Note, all of this is taking place in our development environment: Jdeveloper running on our personal PCs / laptops, we have not even tried to deploy to an application server yet):
1. Open page 1.
2. Error 1: Right click button or tab to page 2, select Open in New Window. Page 1, not page 2, will open in the new window.
3. Close the new window so that the original page 1 is displayed.
4. Left click a link to navigate to page 2. Page 2 is display as expected.
5. On page 2, left click link back to page 1 (NOT the browser Back button). Page 1 is displayed as expected.
6. Error 2: Right click a link to page 3, select Open in New Window. Page 2, not page 3 will open in the new window.
7. Close the window containing Page 2. Left-click the link for page 3 and it will open as expected.
8. On page 3, left click a link back to page 1 (NOT the browser Back button). Page 1 is displayed as expected.
9. Now right-click the same link to page 3 as in step 6 and select open in new window and page 3 will display as expected.
The logs mention "Reusing a cached session application module instance" and I think this is where our trouble is. I considered turning this caching off (if possible) to see if it clears up the problem, but (a) I don't see where to do that and (b) it seems like we would want to use any caching features once we go to production.
I suspect we have some minor configuration error somewhere as it seems unlikely that ADF applications would all come with a "No opening in new windows allowed" warning. Or, maybe we are just missing the boat on why this shouldn't work. Either way, any useful guidance would be appreciated.

We dont get number datatype if you have SQL92 selected as SQL Flavour. So i dont think this would help. SQL TYPE Map is JAVA basically in my project. Do you want me to import some of oracle.jbo.domains specifically or something else you want me to do

The �Configuration� page consists of the text boxes where the user inputs the data. It consists of two textfield say name and the Telephone number.It also consists of two buttons to SAVE and CANCEL.
When the user enters the data and clicks on SAVE, The data is inserted into the database.
The problem arises when I click on the CANCEL button.
When the user clicks on the Configuration link the page displays the information entered by the user, getting it from the database.
Name : Myname

When he changes the data in the textboxes
Name : YourName
Tel No : 98765
and clicks on the CANCEL button, it goes to the page (say default.jsp) given in the action of the button with out saving the data in the database. But when the user clicks on the �Configuration� link once again he sees the data that the user has changed (not saved in the database).

When we look at the log messages that I have coded in the Prerender function to give the textbox values (getNameTextFiled.getText(), getTelnotextField.getText()) we can see the data is from the database (Myname, 123456), but in the UI we can see the changed data (not saved in the database). When I log out (end the session) and login again the correct data (Myname, 123456) is shown from the database. I am not able to figure out the cause for it. I tired in many ways to solve it but I and not able to do so.
Can anyone help me out to solve the issue?

Safari 8.0 no longer appears to cache Web pages.

Since upgrading to Yosemite, Safari no longer appears to cache anything. Pages reload each and every time a page change is made. It affects both backwards or forwards changes and does not matter if I use the arrow buttons in Safari or swipe across the MagicPad.
As suggested on various other help sites;
I have removed all extensions from Safari
I have put Safari into single process mode
I temporarily removed the Cache folder from the Library so that Safari created a new one when it was restarted
None of the above had any effect, the issue remains.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue or knows how to fix it?

Do you have a similar fix for slow Safari 4.0.3 on an iBook G4 running OS X.4.11?
Go to the System Preferences>Network panel
-Location - set up a personal location by clicking on the location drop down menu and selecting "add a location". Use a name familiar to you. Once established, select "apply".
-Next, click on the "Show" drop down menu and select Network Port Configurations. Depending on whether you use Ethernet or Airport (wireless) for your setup: Only Ethernet or Airport ought to be checked. Move it to the top of the list (you can drag it). Select "apply". Everything else ought to be unchecked unless you use a Bluetooth device.
-Back to the "Show" menu, select either "Ethernet" or "Airport" (whichever applies to you). Click on the TCP panel. There, enter (copy/paste on separate lines) 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 in the DNS servers box - these are Opensource DNS codes.
When done, select OK, then "apply"
Last step: In the Finder, go to your Utilities folder and select "Terminal". Once the screen is open copy/paste lookupd -flushcache and press return. This clears out the DNS cache. Once done, quit Terminal.
Restart Safari
In Safari Menu>Reset Safari. Select "empty the cache", then reset.

Keep recto/verso page placement when printing 'Multiple' pages on single sheet

Dear All,
my book is designed for duplex printing. Every chapter starts on recto (odd) page.
When I need to print it for proofreading in the multiple mode (2 pages on single sheet), pages do not follow the original intent as the first page is placed on the verso page (left half of the sheet), not recto one (right half). I couldn't find any option to place the first page on the recto 'side' in the Print dialog.
My current workaround is to place one blank page at the beginning of my PDF file.
But I'd like to avoid this manual step in the future. Is there a more efficient way?
Btw, it would be nice to add a single option for this into the Print dialog. It could be handy for everyone.
What is the best place for such kind of feature request?

Here doing that I get a normal behavior:
You may try:
a - quit/close Numbers
trash the preferences file:

empty the trash
restart Numbers.
b - try to do the job from an other user account
tell us how the beast behaves.

Stop web page caching in mozilla using jsp

Is there any way to stop the web page caching in mozilla by using jsp code?
When the user presses the logout button i do not want them to be able to press the back button.

Expire your pages (set proper headers and cache controls that apply to both browser and proxy servers) and code it so that every page with data you don't want displayed doesn't display unless someone is logged in.
Note that there is never a 100% guarantee that the browser won't cache the pages. It's really up to the user agent (and any proxies, if applicable) to agree to follow the no-cache REQUEST.
For this reason, any database interactions (that is, inserts and updates) should always check for a valid session before executing.
Using POST to submit requests to pages that do database interaction is also helpful, so when they hit the back button, they'll see that warning about the page being generated from POST data.
If the data is horribly sensitive (financials, etc that you don't want left open on a screen), don't give them a chance to use the back button. Open the application itself in a brand new window (a login page will open the new window), do all interaction in that window, and logging out closes the child window (and thus loses all history).
Since this may irritate the holy heck out of the casual user (or just plain not work with popup blockers) it is not recommended to be used casually.
Keep this reserved for very sensitive applications, not just the average web site / application or because you don't feel like coding proper safeguards.

How do I put page numbers in TOC to left of sections?

This is how the actual Pages manual does its toc, yet within the manual, the page numbers always appear to the right of the text. I thought this format might solve another toc layout problem I have. I'm cleaning up a book of poems written by a friend. Every poem has a number (and is on a new page) but only a few of the poems have a title. This means that if I tab between number and title, where this exists, the entry goes off the line, see number X (not my choice to use Roman numerals!):
So, I thought if the page numbers were to the left, I could format the style so where there was a title (like Au suivant) this could be properly aligned.

fruhulda was amazingly helpful, worked beyond the call of duty on my document, and provided me with the essential idea , that I needed two styles for the poem heading line, one when there was just a number and the other when there was a number and title.
I still wouldnt mind knowing for the future how one can put the page numbers to the left in the TOC.
And for the record, dont do what I have just done: workin Pages (as I dont have word), and then export and send to the friend using Word. I have discovered the hard way that my Page styles did not export to Word!
