Empty Preview Panel in Bridge

I've opened Bridge and selected a thumbnail in the content browser, but no image appears in the preview panel. I'm assuming it's because my processor is less than the recommended ones (Pentium 4, etc. - I get a message that Bridge may perform poorly when opening Bridge). However, I thought I'd check here just in case there may be another reason. Would the processor be the most likely culprit or is there something else I should check? My processor is an AMD Athlon XP 1.67 GHZ.
Thanks...

What works for some of us is to click "restore down" icon (upper right middle one). If your window is in maximize mode the preview is there, just buried under dozens of layers, but have to pull back window pane border to see it.

  • Problem with Preview panel in Bridge CS3

    Hello,
I've got a problem and I don't seem to get rid of it.
When I use the Adobe Bridge, everything seemds to work fine, EXCEPT... for the preview panel.
It just keeps on showing a 'blank gap' or blank window, from where I can see a part of my Desktop through.
I hope this picture makes it more clear.

Als, when I select a photo in Bridge, it doesn't show up in the preview panel. It just keeps on showing the freezed picture of the part of my desktop.
I use Windows Vista on my laptop now, and that's were the problem is.
On my old XP laptop, with much lower performance, it worked fine under Windows XP.
    http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e39/Stef_r/2009-02-08_000843.png
Does anyone recognise this problem or has a solution for it?
I have allready tried reinstalling both my laptop with Vista as wel reinstalling the Adobe suite.
    Thanks for the responce!
    With kind regards,
    Stefan

    Thanks for the replies!
Although I still haven't found the real problem for it, the preview panel keeps on freezing, I do have a wokaround found for it.
Because I have a docking station for my laptop, with some free slots in it, I bought a second hand Video Card with 512MB and better performance than the on-board card in the laptop.
I hooked up a external LCD monitor to it and now it works just fine, with no additional modifications in Bridge.
So, although the Bridge / video card still occurs on the laptop, I don't mind working this way.
Maybe a newer driver in the future will solve this problem.
    Kind regards,
    Stefan

  • I can't see anything in the Preview Panel in Bridge

Cannot see any files, file names, icons, or anything in my preview panel. I've tried to purge the cache and I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I cannot figure this one out. I use Mac OSX 10.9.2

Have you reset preferences?  Hold down option key and start Bridge.  Will get a reset window.

  • Empty filter panel in Bridge CS5

I’m using Bridge CS5 on Windows 7.  If I create a new folder, add an image file, and attach a keyword, the filter panel remains empty – as if the folder were empty.  That is, not only are there no terms under the Keyword filter, but no filter options are displayed at all.
However, if I use Find to search for the attached keyword, then there’s no problem locating the image.
This is such a basic issue that I’m sure I’m missing something obvious.  Is it related to caching or indexing?  Closing and reopening Bridge doesn’t make any difference.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I see what’s going on now.  It looks like there’s a minor Bridge 4.0.4.2 bug relating to the filter panel (in the lower left part of the Bridge window).  Basically, no filter options are shown in the panel unless the current folder contains at least two files.
To see this behavior:  (1) Create a new folder; the filter panel will be empty of course.  (2) Copy an image file into the folder; the panel is still empty.  (3) Copy another image file into the folder; the panel is populated with options, e.g. keywords, camera raw properties, etc. for the two files.  (4) Delete one of the files; the filter panel is empty again.

  • Bridge CS6 - Preview Panel Zoom level

    Greetings-
In using Adobe Bridge CS6 (w/latest updates as of 06/13/2014), when previewing video files, the preview panel will automatically zoom into the video. I've tried resetting the preferences (Holding down control while starting), resetting the workspaces - this has not worked.
I saw in another thread where the author mentioned a "zoom toolbar" but this only refers to the thumbnail panel - NOT the preview panel.

    I'm running Bridge CS6 64bit
I'm sorry, am a Mac user and rarely use movies. Although a .MOV file shows without problems in my preview window. And your screenshot only shows part of the workspace, maybe try again with the whole screen and the preview window  filled with zoom?
Try another workspace and even try to reset preferences again, sometimes it needs more then once to solve a problem. And Windows is very critical for the use of correct graphic card drivers but that is out my league I'm afraid.

  • Changing preview panel transparency background in Adobe Bridge CC

Can the background color showing transparency in the Adobe Bridge CC preview panel be changed from the default black to white?

Thank you GCRayaPC - I tried again after your positive response but realized I copied the wrong file into the Extensions folder. Doh!
Glad I wasn't more nasty when I posted (already red-faced).

  • Preview panel loses Color Management after Minimize Bridge CS5

Whenever I minimize the Bridge CS5 application window to the Windows taskbar, upon restoring or maximizing the Bridge application window the image(s) currently showing in the Preview panel no longer appear color managed (they look exactly as they would appear from a non-color-managed app.)  In order to see them as color managed again, I have to either de/re-select their thumbnails or double click the Preview panel twice (once to minimize it, and once again to restore it.)  Otherwise resizing the Preview panel has no impact on the color.  The thumbnails in the Content panel are fine.  This did NOT occur in CS4 or earlier versions of Bridge - otherwise the same environment.
I have a wide-gamut monitor, which causes many non-color-managed images to look super saturated, especially reds & greens, so it is probably much easier to notice this behavior in this environment than from a typical-gamut monitor.
Windows 7, x64, ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card, Bridge v4.0.3.9
    Anyone else notice this annoyance?

    Thanks Curt,
I doubt this is a video issue as no other versions of Bridge behave this way on this system.  I have the same preference settings in Bridge CS5 as for Bridge CS4 - which works fine.  Nor does Photoshop exhibit this behavior post-minimizing, & Photoshop behaves perfectly for all the OpenGL Drawing settings (which I have set to Advanced in PS.)  Bridge just seems to poorly manage the Preview panel color post-minimizing the application window, but otherwise everything displays fine during operation.  I'd be surprised if it was just me but if it is, it's an easy enough annoyance to work around.  I'd imagine that this isn't too observable on a normal-gamut monitor.
I tried your suggestion of  "use software rendering", just in case, but it made no difference.  Appreciate the idea though...
    One more observation:
While thumbnails are being generated for the first time on large images, they also have the non-color-managed appearance until they complete their generating, at which time they take the managed appearance - but I just consider that a processing-timing final step & it hasn't changed behavior from previous versions of Bridge.

  • Where has the preview panel gone is Bridge CS5?

Today when I opened up Bridge, the preview panel on the right hand side has disappeared. It shows as being selected when I go to the Window Menu but it isn't there. The scroll bar is also missing so I can't view all of the thumbnails. Does anyone have any ideas about why this has happened and how I can return it to it's normal format? Thanks, Michelle.

    Fantastic. Thank you, much appreciated

No, but you can choose Reset Workspace from the workspace menu to get it back to normal.

  • FFX file preview with Adobe Bridge

    Hello all,
I did post a similar thread in the Adobe Bridge Forum but I thought that possibly the AE comunity may understand my problem a little better.
I wanted to begin learning After Effects CS4, unfortunately Adobe Bridge CS4 is halting my education.
My approach to viewing the presets, I begin from within after effects, I click the drop down tool bar on the right hand side of the [effects & presets] panel, I then click browse presets
If I explore any kind of After effects CS4 preset, and preview it inside of Adobe bridge, my pc freezes. The preview window, within Bridge CS4 turns blank white while it freezes,
the Windows toolbar of Bridge CS4, says not responding temporarily, if a wait a little while around 30-45 seconds I regain control of my pc again, the preview box occasionally will show a still image and sometimes it will stay white or flickers. If I do wait the 30-45 seconds the toolbar window no longer says 'not responding' I can click to a (non) After effects preset folder, (for example) 'My family pictures' and it will operate normally but if I go back to the After effects CS4 presets again the freezing will occur once more.
What I find strange is that Adobe Bridge previewing, works absolutely fine for my photoshop documents, Illustrator documents, and any Jpeg photos I have, all after effect presets fail to preview, regardless of type if it's a still shape background or animated sprite, the same freeze issue occurs
I was wondering if anyone has helpful tips?
so far I have downloaded all important driver updates for my graphics card, my card is a nVidia GeForce 7900 GS 256, I have also reinstalled bridge and AfterEffects, I have downloaded the latest Quicktime player, I tried reinstalling it additionally.
I am a Windows vista user, also I have enough RAM I believe, just over 3 Giga
I dont know how useful the info is on my Pc spec is, but I thought it could be worth mentioning.
I have looked for a few hours to find some kind of thread with a solution, I have been unsuccessful, I hope someone can help.
    Kindest regards Julian

Hi Mylenium, thanks for sparing me some of your time.
I did as you said, within my QT panel, *GDI only* sadly had no positive effect from my perspective, the freezing occured as it has always
For future reference is this setting how I should have it normally, or should i put it back on DirectX accel?
any other thoughts on what the problem could be?
    regards Julian

  • Can't preview animation presets via AF CS5 in Preview window in Bridge CS5

None of the animated Presets in After Effects Support Files will play in the Bridge previewer. Other media show up fine. I'm running Windows 7 64bit, X4 955 processor, 8 gigs RAM. All other CS5 programs work flawlessly. The only possible solution I found from Adobe for Bridge was the following which did not work: Select this option if slide shows or images in the Preview panel, Full Screen Preview, or Review mode don’t display correctly. Using software rendering for previews displays previews correctly, but the display speed may become slow and there may be other limitations. 1.In Advanced preferences, select Use Software Rendering. 2.Restart Adobe Bridge Any other options?

This is a graphics card/driver issue.  Make sure you have the latest updates.
Also, I beilve the that animition effects rely on Quicktime, so make sure you have that installed as well.

  • Raw file thumbnail and preview problem in Bridge

When downloading raw files from my new Nikon D3, Bridge generates thumbnails that are a fixed size and the preview panel only shows a thumbnail as opposed to enlarging the image to fit the preview panel. Thumbnails and Preview still work fine with jpegs. My versions of CS3, Bridge and Version Cue are up to date, I believe.
    Thanks...

    Three things:
    • You need to make sure you have updated to Photoshop 10.0.1, Bridge 2.1.1.9 and Camera Raw (ACR) 4.6.
    • You need to purge the cache for the offending folders through the Tools menu in Bridge.
    • You need the Bridge forum:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/bridge/bridge_macintosh?view=discussions&start=0#
Please post there if you need further Bridge help.
Raw files from the D300 are not supported by the old, obsolete version of ACR that gets installed by default by CS3.  What you're seeing now is the embedded JPEG preview only, not the converted raw.   That's why you have to upgrade to ACR 4.6

  • What's up with the Preview panel.

This is the way my screen looks:
and here's the way that I think it should look based on wha i've seen.
Is there some way to able to switch between artboards in bridge?

You are just not getting the concept of Bridge.
Forget "artboards" – it's a false analogy. What you are seeing in the second example is an enlarged Preview panel in the centre and a Content panel on the right. This shows the contents of the active drive as thumbnails. You select what appears in the preview by clicking on the appropriate thumbnail. The preview can be zoomed and the thumbnails can be sized to taste with the slider at the bottom.

  • Don't have permission to delete files in Preview or Adobe Bridge CS3

    Help!
I'm unable to delete image files in Preview or Adobe Bridge CS3.
    Workflow:
    1. Take a bunch of photos on my Nikon
    2. Load them to my MacBook Pro, 10.6.3
    3. Open them in Preview and right-click "Move to Trash" on the photos that I don't want.
==> this results in "Move to Trash Failed. Some files could not be moved to Trash."
    4. If I open the bunch of photos in Adobe Bridge CS3 and command-delete the photos that I don't want
==> I get "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient permissions."
I am logged in as the same user who loaded the image files.
Permission on the image folder start out at
    me: Read & Write
    admin: Read only
    everyone: Read only
but even if I change all to Read & Write, I still get the same errors.
    What's going on?????
    Thanks.

Did you ever figure this one out? I'm having the same issue...

  • Previewing SWFs in Bridge

No matter what access I give the Flash security settings, I get the warning window whenever I preview SWFs in Bridge. Is there a way around that?

    Hi Dana,
Which settings are you considering and what are the performance issues?
You can optimize for certain workflows that will adjust processor intensive work, such as only generating large previews when displayed. If you're strictly talking about video card accelerated features, I think it's more a matter of On or Off as opposed to performance tuning. I just did a quick look and with video card acceleration enabled, in Full Screen Preview you can pan the image at magnifications much smoother.
    regards,

  • Images not previewing properly in Bridge CS4

I just did a reformat & reinstall of my whole system. I opened Bridge to get back to work and none of my images will preview accurately in Bridge. They just show as horizontal and vertical pixelated representations of the image. I did not have a problem with Bridge until after the reinstall. Anyone have any ideas?
System details: Dell Dimension 8250 (I know, it's a dionsaur, but it works...for now), Windows XP Pro SP3, 1.5gb ram, Intel P4 3.06GHz HT
