Emulator for OS 9 that runs on Tiger?

Since I can't boot up in OS 9 anymore, is there an emulator that will let me do this?

To summarize -
The Intel-processor Macs are not supported by Apple for OS 9 at all, either for booting or as Classic.
No G5 Mac can boot to OS 9, although they can use it as Classic.
If you need a machine which can boot to OS 9, you will need to get one of the following -
An OS 9-bootable G4 tower. These include those G4 MDD (Mirrored Drive Door) models whose processor speeds are 1.25GHz or slower, and which do not have a Firewire 800 port; or any earlier G4 model.
An iMac that is an original G4 model, or any G3 model.
Any iBook G3 model (none of the iBook G4 models are OS 9 bootable).
A PowerBook G4 which is no newer than an '02 model.
An eMac which did not come with a SuperDrive nor USB 2.0.

Judicious shopping on places like eBay can produce a good deal on an older Mac.

For my own library, it's easy enough.....select all and see what won't install. But can't search the App store by what will install....

You can try Googling. There is no way to search the App store or Appshopper.com by required iOS.

How do you run CalcMgrCmdLineLauncher.cmd for a ruleset that runs rules in multiple databases?

Just having recently upgraded to 11.1.2.2, I'm just trying to update our batch files to automate the running of some business rulesets using CalcMgrCmdLineLauncher.cmd. I can get business rules working ok, and rulesets that only run rules within the same database working, but I can't seem to get the rulesets running where the rules are running against multiple databases.
I know the syntax is CalcMgrCmdLineLauncher.cmd -f:%PWD% /A:%PlanAPP% /U:%RUNUSR% /D:%EssbCapexDB% /S:%BR%
but for the /D: argument, putting one of the databases in there doesnt work.
The batch runs, it even says its successful in the log but its too quick and looking at the job console it didnt run.
I can run the ruleset manually no problems.
Anyone know how to fix this?

In the search field in your Vista start menu, type cmd
Next, right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".

[SOLVED] internal error Cannot find suitable emulator for x86_64

After a reboot due to unrelated issues, virt-manager is not showing any of the VMs I had configured via qemu:
I checked connection properties, and everything else is showing up correctly, like the networks and storage. I tried to create new VMs out of existing storage and got this message:
Googling it suggested this happens when KVM module is not loaded. I modprobed kvm, kvm_intel and still got same result.
Systemd gave me the following:

Googling that seems to indicate that this happens when virtualization is disabled by BIOS. But cpuinfo tells me that vm is supported:

A generic and open source processor emulator which achieves a good emulation speed by using dynamic translation.
Of which, qemu got updated just today. I will try rolling back to older version and post and update.
Ninja edit: Looks to be qemu. Just running qemu gives me this error:
% qemu-system-x86_64
qemu-system-x86_64: error while loading shared libraries: libiscsi.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

pacman -S libiscsi libaio
systemctl restart libvirtd

First of all thanks a lot for this post. I am facing the same issue since yest.
After reboot, my VMs gone missing and even virt-manager was not working (as shown in the screenshots which you have pasted in your post).
Now after trying out the workout which you had mentioned, I am able to get the virt-manager working.
But I am not sure if I can get back my missing VMs .
I am new to linux. Kindly guide me on how I can get back those VMs.

Snes emulator for mountain lion with support for usb controller dongle

Hi,
I recently downloaded an snes emulator online and found that it does run the super nintendo game fine though it doesn't have support for the usb dongle for the controller. By any chance does anyone know a emular plug in or emulator for mountain lion that has this support for a usb joystick.

Thanks for the reply. Still curious if Apple did right by their customers as the support rep implied that they would. I can't confirm either because I discovered tonight that I can't upgrade to Mountain Lion yet until Mariner Software decides to make one of their products compatible with 10.8. Starting to think I need to find an alternative to their product.

SCSI Emulation for IDE Tape Devices

Linux has a nifty driver called ide-scsi.o, an SCSI emulation for IDE devices, that allows SCSI commands to sent to IDE devices. These IDE devices (CDROM, tape drives, etc...) appear as SCSI devices.
Does Solaris have something similiar?

with kernel 2.6 you don't need anymore scsi emulation for cd burning, i do that, on the bootloader ( lilo is what i use) i add at the append line this --> hdc=ide-cd , and that's all, maybe even that is not needed, not sure. If you want to test if that works open a shell and type --> cdrecord --dev=ATAPI --scanbus
It should show your burner.
For k3b you maybe need to run the setup program first, and make sure your cdrdao is uptodate.

Trace a session that runs as a batch

Hi, I am trying to identify the SQL which is causing an error in a batch program I am running. I am unable to bounce the database as its production, is it possible to enable trace without shutting down the database, and for a session that does not yet exist - it only exists when I start the program.

Well I managed to enable tracing using the logon trigger for the user that runs the batch program.
This is the trigger I used.

CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER user01_logoff

This generated the SQL in the trace file. But the error is to do with a bind variable - is there a way to identify the value of the bind variable is the trace file?

Is there a good PC emulator out there that runs under the latest version of Mac OS?

I am trying to run DVArchive to access Replay TV units. The software is written for JAVA and should run, but I can't figure it out right now.

Given that it says it supports 10.2, it is likely a 32-bit java program. Therefore, it will not run on Oracle's Java 7 which is 64-bit only. You would have to install Apple's Java 6 implementation, if that helps any getting it to work natively.

purchased a G5 iMac to replace my aging dell desktop,
and now i'm more or less completely os x dependant
(I've had an ibook for a few months now). Anyway, I
have a few questions:
1. Does anyone know of a (free) mail notifier tool,

The built in email program does sound an alert for new messages.
2. Anyone know of a good (free, again) IRC client?
iChat works well.
3. I noticed earlier that my screen was flickering,
it seems to have subsided for now, but is that normal
to encounter in a new display? It wasn't really bad
flicker, but I could see it.

You could set the iMac to go to sleep after non use. My Macs are
always sleeping when not in use, waking them up takes seconds.
Unlike windoze, never knew if it would be locked up or not.
5. Should I get the extended warranty? I'm usually
against them, but I am expecting this computer to
last me at least 3 years (for $1300 it better!)
before I upgrade, as I got that much out of a Dell
and from what I understand, Mac's do not age nearly
as fast as Windows pc's.
It is well worth the cost. Never know what might happen. Also
it is good insurance for future upgrades. I traded in my G4 tower
purchased two years ago for 75% of what I paid for it. Apple care
transfers, giving the buyer the remainder of your warranty.

I can't run any of my old music creation software on Leopard, so for my live setup, I need a macbook (or pro) that runs Tiger. This excludes any of the new product line laptops. Can anyone suggest a make/model laptop and or a way to purchase one?

Run in Android emulator for PC?

Is it possible to run Proto in an Android emulator? I have a Samsung Series 7 Slate tablet (Windows 7).
Alternatively, are there plans to offer a version of Proto (and the other Adobe Touch apps, for that matter) for Windows tablets?

I agree; most emulators I've seen are more geared to development. More recently, however, I've been using an app/portal called BlueStacks (no affiliation, just found the app online) to get some of my more favorite Android apps to run on my Windows tablet as an end-user. BlueStacks requires you to sync the app through your phone or Android tablet. Unfortunately I don't have an Android device that runs Android >= 3.1, so I can't try the Adobe Touch apps through that service since I can't install them on my Android phone.
As you pointed out, my Windows tablet will of course run the full Adobe CS 5.5 products. (I briefly installed Master Collection CS 5.5 to see how it ran, and it was pretty good.) However, the touch-friendliness of the full apps' UI controls isn't really there yet, so I thought the Adobe Touch apps might be better suited to that form factor.
I suppose the ideal in my case would be a touch-friendly user interface skin for the full Adobe CS 5.5 suite. And, of course, a change to the license that would allow it to be installed on desktop, laptop and tablet for non-simultaneous use, rather than just two of the three systems (I currently use Master Collection CS 5.5 on both laptop and desktop - the tablet is a new addition).
Where is the official place to make feature requests for future consideration?

Can anyone suggest a windows XP emulator that runs on OS 10.6 on my iMac?

It would seem a simple request but I cannot find, and maybe it is me being a Mac-dufus, an emulator, that runs on my mac, such that I can run a 32 bit windows XP software application.

FYI - VMware fusion only works with 10.7 and higher, Virtualbox is clunky and I think you need a compute science degree to operate it.
New virtual machine when I tried to ijnstall the trail version offers a migrate from PC or install windows from a DVD or image.......and I don't ewant to do that, I just want to run an emulator, install 2 XP 32 bit applications and be able to run them in the emulator is all. When check how much memory I am using, with only Safari open I am using 3.9 and more of her 4.0 memory. She is very. very slow in processing. I had 4000
trash to clean out and it took her over an hour to expel. Also for some reason Safari will not allow me to click on a link, in my G-mail, and let it go to the page.
It has a sign saying a pop-up blocker is on and will not let me do it. I must open the stamp to look at my e-mails and if I have redirected link now I can do it.
I have not changed my preferences so where is this pop-up blocker?
I have looked at preferences on Safari and Google, which I do not understand Google, and do not see where this blocker could be.
Malware is something I want to make sure is not on my computer. Tech Tool Pro 6 is all I know of and it does not detect Malware.
