Emulator to my iPaq h6300!!!

Hello!!!
I have been find out about how can I get the emulator?. I have written to the support
in HP and they told me that they could not help me, because it is a third party software or
something like that, they recommended to me ask to the support in Microsoft and I did do it,
but the support in microsoft could not help me and they adviced me that it would better if I would contact with the support in Netbeans and I did do it. The support in Netbeans answered me and they told me that the best way is asking in this forum.
I develop application for Mobile Device, my device is an iPaq H6300 from HP, we are work
in Netbeans 6.1 and I need an emulator to help me to try the applications that I made
before to pass it to my device.
I have been able to find this emulator...I really hope that someone can help me, because I
need to develop a project for the school..
Thanks a lot and I will be waiting for any answers.
Best regards

  • J2ME CLDC/MIDP emulator for Compaq iPAQ

I would like to run J2ME CLDC with MIDP on my Compaq iPAQ 3650. I am NOT interested in PersonalJava at this time. I have two questions:
    1. Has anyone tried to put the J2ME Wireless Toolkit emulator on iPAQ, with or without Swing? J2ME WTK currently requires Swing, but it seems like that AWT may be used exclusively instead with some slight modifications.
    2. Does anyone know if there is an applet/AWT version of a J2ME CLDC/MIDP emulator that I can use for demos?
    Thanks.

You can use the PalmOS emulator for winCE and install MIDP4PALM...

  • Using an IPAQ as a phone

I swear that a few years ago we set up an Ipaq on CallManager and was able to use it as a wireless IP phone. We had CCM 3.1, and I don't remember needing any special phone emulation software. Is anybody familiar with this setup? We now have CCM 4.01a(sr2)and I cannot remember how this was done. I have not been able to find any instructions, either. Thanks...

    Hello,
as the CCM is handling signaling for VoIP, the first question is, which signalling protocolls do you use?
Based on the answer I would look for an IP soft phone application and then ... RTFM ;-)
One Softphone which I have heard should work is "IP Blue VTGO!", which I was told even was bundled on the companion CD of the IPAQ.
Maybe you can check this and work from there.
A little Search revealed this on IP Blue and Call Manager interoperation:
    www.cisco.com/global/DK/docs/presentations/ IP_Blue_Cisco_Innovation_Day_May_2004.pdf
So this is what I would opt for. Seems to be a working solution without too much hassle involved.
Hope this helps! Please rate all posts.

  • Ipaq Speculation: Java vs MS C++

    Hi,
I am starting a project for a Compaq Ipaq 3870 with PocketPC 2002, and am debating between developing using Java or MS C++. If at all possible, I would rather take the Java route, since I've developed in both, and am less than humored by how non-standard MS's version of C++ is.
After doing some research, I've come to the conclusion that the Jeode VM is reasonable for running Java, unless I'm willing to swap out the WinCE OS. Also, as my application is likely to have an extensive UI, I would definitely like to have AWT (and Swing support if at all possible). Further, I've tried the Forte4j Mobile Edition to see how IDE support is in this realm.
So, given my rather limited knowledge, here are some questions:
    - Since J2ME has supposedly encompassed the older PersonalJava, yet the Jeode VM was built to support the latter, will applications written to the J2ME specification (for CDC, I believe) run on Jeode? If not, is there an alternative VM for the Ipaq/ARM?
    - Is there an emulator/skin for the Ipaq available that may be added to the list of emulators for Forte? Or, how may one be created?
    - What other Ipaq emulator alternatives for Java development are present? - What API (J2ME / PersonalJava) should the Java code be written to?
    Thank you,
    SP

    Hi prsheila,
My name is Lee Graham, I'm very much a newbie when it comes to Java programming,
but I'm giving it a whirl. I found your messages on the Wireless Developer site regarding
your attempts to code for the iPaq. I'm in a similar situation and I thought you might be
able to help. I have some code for an application which I would like to port over to J2ME
for the iPaq wireless device. I've downloaded Forte (or "ONE" as it's now called) but it
seems to be forcing me to use MIDP and to create Midlets and Midlet Suites. But, from
what I've read, Forte ME should allow me to compile and emulate for Personal Java, which,
if I understand correctly, is just a subset of JDK and is not as limited as MIDP (for example,
it can use AWT). Do you know, precisely, how I can create a new project in Forte (or
other IDE, I'm open to suggestions) and load my old code so that I can compile and emulate
    for the iPaq?
Also, I understand that Swing will have to be tossed when I port over to the new
environment. Are there any other major concerns like that I'll need to be warry of?
Thanks a lot for any help you might be able to provide,
    -Lee

  • Java CLDC Emulation (Java ME Dev Kit 3.0) installation problem

    Hi,
I tried installing Java CLDC Emulation from Java ME Dev Kit 3.0 to two different devices and Windows Mobile 6 Professional Emulator with mixed results:
    - Installation on Sprint phone went fine and I can open 'Sun Java CLDC Emu' from Start->Programs
    - Installation on IPAQ110 & Windows Mobile 6 Professional Emulator went fine, however when I try to run it I get the following message:
"The file 'sun_jwc' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"
I guess it has something to do with version of Windows since phone has Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and IPAQ&Emulator Windows Mobile 6 Classic.
Can I just install some certificate into trusted store to make this work or Java CLDC Emulation from Java ME Dev Kit 3.0 works only with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional?
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Try this instructions:
    1. Download and install Microsoft Device Emulator with device images for Windows Mobile 6 in "Network" emulator properties tab.
    2. Download and install Microsoft Virtual PC.
Note: Installs virtual switch driver required for emulated network adapters.
    3. Run Windows Mobile 6 Professional Emulator and bind its emulated NE2000 Network Adapter to a desktop network card.
Note 1: Consult the Microsoft device emulator documentation for instructions.
Note 2: Don't use ActiveSync for networking (cradling the emulator).
    4. Write down the IP address of the emulator and the IP address of the host computer.
4.1. Open the Start menu on the emulator, click Settings, click Connections, click Network Cards, Click NE2000 Compatible Ethernet Driver.
4.2. Open Network Connections on the desktop, and display the status of the connection corresponding to the network card to which the NE2000 Network Adapter has been bound (step 3). Click the Support tab.
    5. Open Emulator Properties.
    5.1. Open the File menu.
    5.2. Click Configure.
    6. Set JavaMESdkHome\on-device\winmobile-arm as a shared folder in "General" emulator properties tab.
    6.1. Browse to JavaMESdkHome\on-device\winmobile-arm.
    6.2. Click OK.
    7. Run File Explorer on the emulator.
    7.1. Open Start menu.
    7.2. Click Programs.
    7.3. Click File Explorer.
    8. Start the Sun Java CLDC Emulation CAB file installation.
    8.1. Open Show menu.
    8.2. Select Storage Card.
8.3. Click on the sun-java-cldc-emu.cab file.
    9. Finish the installation and run the Sun Java CLDC Emulation.
Note: See the device installation for reference.
    10. Register the Windows Mobile emulator in the Java ME SDK.
    10.1. Open JavaMESdkHome\toolkit-lib\process\device-manager\conf\static-registrations.cfg.
10.2. Add the <device name>, <device ip>, <host ip> line into the file and save the changes (use the IP addresses from step 4).
    As instance: MS_Emulator, 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.1
    11. Restart the Java ME SDK Device Manager.

  • NoClassDefFoundError: Midlets on iPAQ

    Hi,
I am a novice to midlet programming. I installed PersonaJava
on my iPAQ (Pocket PC) successfully. the examples that come with the installation run fine. I am not able to run midlets on iPAQ.
the error i am getting at Java Console:
    "NoClassDefFoundError: javax.microedition/lcdui/CommandListener"
Midelets run fine on emulator provided by J2ME tool kit. I dropped
the midpapi.jar file that comes with this tool kit into the "lib"
directory on iPAQ, where PersonalJava is installed, but it did not help me either. Any pointers will be gr8.
    Thanks for your time,
    -Venu Madhav Singh K

    Thanks for response.
the evm, u were talking about is an Jeode embedded virtual machine
from Insignia. I am using JVM provided by PersonalJava.
In order to run Midlets on PocketPC(iPAQ), there is a api
that enables PersonalJava devices to run Midlets.
    Look at the link below:
    http://me4se.org/index.html
    I installed, me4se.jar and png.jar and tested a midelt.
I think it works except that i was havving some problems with
GUI support (I did not install Swing components). Well this
is just a beginning, i will post more as i succeed. Please post
if any one has happy experience with running Midlets in PocketPC.

  • Personal Java on IPAQ

Hi Everyone. Could anyone tell me how to use personal java as a runtime environment on my ipaq 3870?
I downloaded a bunch of personal java files for win32(assuming these are the ones i will need to use on my windows ce device), but i have no clue on what to do with them to use it as a runtime environment on my ipaq. There are a bunch of build directories and source directories, an emulation environment and osme other stuff. I see no way i can use all this to run java class files on my ipaq. Could anyone tell me what i should do to have a personal java runtime environment on my ipaq?
    Thanks,

This was announced a while back...
The Blackdown Java-Linux Team is happy to announce the availability of
the release candidate 1 of Java2 SE v1.3.1 for Linux/ARM:
Please choose one of our FTP mirrors for downloading:
    http://www.blackdown.org/java-linux/mirrors.html
    Besides the J2RE there's a second file: additional-ipaq-stuff.tar.gz
It contains libraries and other files which are required to run Java
but are not part of the standard familiar distribution (libXp.so,
    libXm.so, libBrokenLocale.so, 'standard symbols l' font)
The unmodified J2RE needs about 18m, if you remove one of the two
included VMs (classic green & classic native threads VM) and files you
don't need (candidates are for instance soundbank.gm, i18n.jar
    libJdbcOdbc.so, libpreemptive_close.so, libioser12.so, ...), you may
get it down to 12 or 13M. You should be able to save even more space
by removing unneeded classes (e.g org.omg.*) from rt.jar.
    * No SDK yet, I didn't have time to run the compiler testsuite yet
(the test-run will take approximately two weeks)
    * MouseEvent.isPopupTrigger() and JPopupMenu.isPopupTrigger() are
somewhat useless on the iPAQ as they are bound to the right mouse
button. Any idea for a more sensible trigger?
    * The default fonts are too large for the small display
    * The default maximum heap size is 64m, you may want to reduce that
    with to a smaller value (e.g. -Xmx20m)
    * Some stuff is terribly slow (e.g. HTML rendering). If somebody
feels like writing a JIT compiler or porting HotSpot to ARM let me
    know...
    * No Mozilla plugin yet ;-)
    * A small demo is available from http://blackdown.de/~jk/arm/IPAQDemo.jar

  • Unable to raise button Event in BlackBerry Emulator

    Hi All,
I've created a WebDynpro Application which invokes a BAPI on click of a button(or Link to Action). This Application s running fine on IE.
I wanted t port this on a Blackberry device. I'm testing on a BlackBerry emulator. The first view is getting displayed properly, but I'm unable to click the Button which is displayed.
How to raise this event on the BlackBerry Emulator?
    Thanks and regards

    Hi,
Thanks for looking at my post.
@Heidi: I had already gone thru the link.
@Stefanie: I am using BlackBerry Emulator for model 7520/7920. There is no wheel(I guess I didn't understand you properly). Yes I clicked on enter button.
I'm a bit confused with the Button. In manual they said that the property 'Design' is ignored for Mobile Devices and at the same time they say if the Design is emphasized then you will get a softkey. I tried with Design Standard(which is default) and also Emphasized. I dont see any Softkey. I really don't know how a softkey looks like. I guess there will be a extra icon or button on the screen. But I don't see any.
    Thanks and regards

  • Issue with hp ipaq 614c and cisco ap

Hello. I tried to connect an ipaq 614c to a cisco ap1131 using wpa-psk tkip with no success. The ipaq connects without any problem to other access points including linksys. I've tried odysey client and I get the message: waiting for keys. The event log of the AP says: Packet to client reached max retries, removing the client. I am able to connect with other models of ipaq to the ap. Anyone know what the problem might be? I also tried disabling QOS but the result is the same.

Is the ssid only config for 1 security policy? I had an issue one time where the SSID was config for both WPA and WPA2 and i had issues. It wasnt till i selected just a single security policy that it worked.
You may want to try a real simple key at first. Try connecting it to an open network. Start 'unpacking' it so to speak...
You may see more info if you go into the CLI of the controller and debug the client. Also, if you have a layer 2 analyzer (AirMagnet or Peek you may see something of interest...)

  • [SOLVED] Terminal emulator that allows free resizing?

EDIT: Answered my own question; terminator allows per-pixel resizing if you disable window hinting in the preferences.
I have an annoyance with resizing terminal emulators. I use stacking WMs (xfwm4 on one setup, compiz standalone on another) but I usually like to tile my windows manually. I've enabled edge snapping in both of these WMs. However, whenever I'm resizing a terminal window, the snapping doesn't work because the terminal window can't be freely resized - I can only change the size of the window by one character's height/width. For example, if a terminal is open at 80x36, and I want to make it just a little bit wider to snap against the edge of another window, I can't because it won't let me resize the window between 80 and 81 characters.
I've tried xfce's terminal, gnome-terminal, lxterminal, xterm, urxvt, and st. Can someone direct me to a terminal emulator that will let me resize windows to whatever size I want, regardless of whether it is a discrete character size, or am I out of luck?
P.S. I've noticed that if I resize a window with wmctrl and issue the resize command twice, then xfce's terminal behaves the way it should. Can I replicate this behavior for resizing with the mouse?

A terminal emulator and X Window GUI are different things. You can have a terminal emulator in a graphical desktop environment, but you cannot display GUI in a terminal.
Putty is just a SSH client and terminal emulator (VT) and can be used with X-forwarding to display remote GUI applications (Linux), provided you are have a X Window server installed and running on your local computer, e.g. Xming Server for Windows.
Perhaps you will find the free version of http://mobaxterm.mobatek.net/ useful. It is a single application based on Cygwin that allows you run GUI applications from your remote Linux system.
By far the best terminal emulator in terms of user interface and configuration options that I’m aware of is the Terminal App of MacOSX, which also automatically opens Xorg if you open a GUI application. And it provides the full set of terminal escape sequences. But if you are on Windows….
Alternatively, use VNC. You can run VNC in several modes, either to open an existing remote desktop connection, start a new desktop connection, or run a minimal X windows server, such as TWM that does not require you to install or run a graphical user desktop on your remote Linux server. If you are interested in VNC, perhaps check the following: https://community.oracle.com/thread/2456580. You can also tunnel VNC through SSH if your network firewall prevents communication.
