Emusic deleted Itunes content

When I sychronized my emusic to my Itunes account all of my previous Itunes content was deleted. What do I do to retrieve the lost music? I can't figure it out at all.

Did you use the same computer (and Library) to put the emusic onto the iPod as you did for the original music on it? If so, has your computer had a replacement hard drive or major repair recently?
In either of these situations, there would have been a message asking if you wanted to replace the music on the iPod with the music in the current Library.

  • Deleting itunes content from my imac

My IMac was full mostly from my Itunes library. I moved the contents from my Mac to a WDC drive. How do I delete the content still on my Mac without deleting it from my WDC drive?

Sorry but I can't play that link with my computer.  If that link tells you to move your library by changing preferences then that link isn't really telling you how to move your whole library, and is titled incorrectly. Your library is more than just media files, and media's all you moved to the external.  Yes, you could just delete those from your internal drive but don't delete the other critical library files or you really will break your iTunes collection.

Again, make a backup of your computer first.  If you don't have a backup of all your files (those on the external too) in at least two locations then worry about losing files in this situation is only a starter.  You could start your computer tomorrow and find it is all gone, 100%.

  • Sync itunes with atv and then delete itunes content? possible?

i have a mac book pro with a 80 gb hdd... i'm running too short of space because i have movies and music in my itunes...
is there any way to send this movies to an apple tv and watch them from there, so i can delete them from my hdd and save space?...

There are two parts to consider, moving some of the content to another location and then maintaining a split library.
To move your movies simply copy them to their new location, you'll find movies in a folder called movies in your itunes music folder which by default is your music folder. Then you can delete the originals by selecting all the movies in itunes and deleting them and choosing to move originals to the trash when prompted.
Now select all the movies you have on your external drive while holding down the 'alt' key drag them into the itunes window. This will put them into itunes without copying them to your itunes music folder again.
Once this is done and you are certain your movies work as expected you can now empty your trash.
From now on when you add content to itunes you will need to decide where you want the original to go, dragging anything into itunes will copy it to your itunes folder which is fine for your music but not what you want for movies. So when you add movies, copy them to your external drive and then from there use 'alt' + drag and drop into the itunes window.
    Does that make sense.

I am rebuilding my iTunes library, but still have all the old content on my iPod Classic.  I have just download some songs from the iStore and want to add them to the iPod, BUT when I try to sync it asks if I want to delete all content from the iPod and add only the material that I have just downloaded from the Store.  I do not want to lose my old content, because it is very extensive.

You are trying to sync to other than the one iTunes library you can sync to. You can copy music from multiple library/computer if you use the manual method of syncing. That method is described here
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
If you want to make this computer/iTunes library your syncing computer/library you have to restore the iPod on this computer/library. Restoring erases the iPod.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

  • I need to transfer content from my ipod touch to a NEW itunes account without deleting the content! help me please!!

A friend and I shared an itunes account, as we both had ipod touches. I no longer have access to that account. I have created an account of my own but I need help tranferring the content that is on my ipod touch to my new itunes. I am scared to update my ipod or syncing it because it might delete my content. I have spent A LOT of money on apps and music from itunes, and i need help! PLEASE!!

The photos are on the ipod.  Photo sync will erase them.  I need a way to extract them from the ipod, or to.extract them from the ipod backup that is who knows where on my PC.
I've been searching for an app to do that with no luck.  They all seem to want a newer OS than is on my ipod yet I have the most recent update installed.

I am trying to upgrade my iPhone 4 to the latest iOS via iTunes, but I keep getting a message saying that an error [-5000] occurred and continuing will delete all content on my iPhone. What's the solution?

okay I've done everything regarding the transfer process (via file>transfer purchases) and syncing, so everything on my iPhone device seems to have been transferred to my iMac... however, I still get that message ("There are purchased items on the iPhone..."), trying to upgrade the iOS Have tried several times the same process of hitting transfer purchases via file, but nothing seems to make that message go away! Would have been nice to know which files I actually do need to transfer, which I don't get any info on of course...
Starting to get really annoying this thing.. Any smart suggestions what's going on?

  • I am trying to delete duplicate content in my iTunes library. I have stopped the download and I can see them on VIEW Displaying Duplicates, but cannot delete them with the Delete button. Can anyone assist?

I am trying to delete duplicate content in my iTunes library. I have stopped the download and I can see them on VIEW>Displaying Duplicates, but cannot delete them with the Delete button. Can anyone assist?

If you've paused the download (they are partially greyed out on the duplicates screen ?) then you will need to delete them from download window, you can't (as far as I know) delete partially downloaded items from that screen. When you have items downloading, or downloads that are paused, you should have a downward pointing arrow at the top right of the iTunes screen
If you click that arrow you should get a popup window with the items that are downloading/paused - and you should be able to select and delete them (or resume their download) from there.

  • If i create an additional itunes library and delete the content will the content remain on the original itunes library?

I just created an additional itunes library for my son by holding down shift while opening iTunes.  It created the new library but has all of my music listed.  If I delete the content in the additional library will the content still remain on the other library?

Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
    Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there to copy other media, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • ITunes 12.1.2.27 can't delete field contents from multiple tracks

This is new to iTunes 12.1.2.27.
Try it out: you cannot completely delete the contents of any field in the iTunes album "Get Info" window, when there are multiple tracks selected. Every previous version of iTunes could do this easily.
For example, I have an album with different comments for several tracks. I simply want to delete all the comments on the album. With all the album tracks selected, I delete the gray "Mixed" text in the Comments field, like in the last version. When I close the Get Info window, nothing has changed. The comments are still there.
This happens with all the fields. You can no longer delete all the contents of any given field all at once. It's one track at a time or nothing.
Also, bonus problem: try to cut some text out of these fields with Command-X: Artist, Album, Album Artist, Composer, Grouping and Genre fields. You can't. Command-X does nothing. I think it has something to do with the auto-complete function.
I gave feedback on these two problems. If they bother you, please leave feedback as well.

  • How do I swap my ITunes content on my computer and put on my computer my sister's iTunes content

I got a Mac for Christmas and because my sister's computer crashed recently I decided to give her my old one. I have movies and music and stuff which I have downloaded and are now in iTunes on my computer so how do I take off my ITunes content and replace with hers, without it deleting off my iPod and my new Mac?

  • Does home sharing allow my husband and I to share our itunes content?  If so, how do we do that since it requires the use of the same Apple ID and password on each device to do so.  His itunes is linked to his email and mine is linked to my email...

Does home sharing allow my husband and I to share our iTunes content?  If so, how does this work?  From what I've read to use home sharing the devices/computers all require the same Apple ID and password.  My husbands iTunes is linked to his email/password and mine is my email/password.  So if that's the case how to we go about sharing?  God I hope that makes sense.

All apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that bought them. To stop your id from popping up, you need to delete the apps on his phone, and then repurchase them under his account.

    Hi Kacey04,
If you want to make sure that you have moved a complete copy of your entire iTunes Library to your new Mac, you may find the following article helpful:

I would also suggest, if you plan to delete iTunes from your Windows machine, that you make sure you have a good backup of your content first:

  • How do I remove my Itunes content and put it on another computer?

How do I remove my itunes content from one computer and put it on another?

This is not a massively difficult process and there are several ways to do this.
In fact you can keep iTunes on more than one computer (up to a max of five computers) and sync them via iCloud/iTunes Match providing you pay the annual subscription fee.
Also you can transfer files between computers by enabling Home Sharing on both PC's and drag and drop files via your iTunes side panel or alternatively you can copy the iTunes folders/library from one PC to the Other over a network and import the files manually via "FILE... add folder or add files"...
Easiest way I think is to ensure that both librarys are on the same drive (ie C Drive) and in the same folder (ie C:\Music) .. you can however use one PC's only to sync your iphone/ipad/ipod to ... otherwise you have to delete and resync and backup/restore your devices each time you switch between the PC's.
    Hope that helps
