Just a note: I'm using a real 2. speaker system with a crossover network in the subwoofer. I think this is an "industry practice," which is why Creative hasn't had enough demand to provide the crossover network function for them. When separate speakers are used, they need an amp, and an amp with the necessary bass management functions is the normal solution. Put another way, can you cite another <i>stereo</i> source, i.e. tuner, CD player, etc., that has a subwoofer output?

  • Bass Re-direction, where has it go

I have an SB Audigy 2 ZS (FF40), and I recently formatted my computer and re-installed WinXP. I re-installed the Audigy?s driver using the latest drivers off the Creative website (?Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 series and Audigy 4 series Driver 02.08.0004?). Now for some reason I don?t have that original blue Audio-Console, but rather this POS grey tab one, which has little to no features, i.e. Bass Re-direction is not there. I can't find my original Audigy Install CD. I really don?t care for the rest of the features, I just want my Bass-Redirection back, what can I do? Seems to me, a bit odd that creative release new drivers with stripped down features.

Oh nevermind I found a CTPanel hidden inside the drivers which seems to have all the missing options. Still why is the CTPanel not installed by default? I had to manually copy it from the i386 folder, and I'm sure your average user wouldn't know about or how to do this, suggestion for creative, combine the two, or atleast have an option somewhere during the install, so that you can select it, the Audio Console, is usless without it.

  • Do I need "ip inspect WAAS enable" when WAE directly connected to ISR?

I have a 3800 ISR with Gig0/0 connected to LAN, Serial0/0 connected to WAN, and Gig1/0 connected directly to a WAE-674. I'm using WCCP between the ISR and WAE. The ISR also does IP inspection and call manager express functions.
The "ip inspect in" is configured on the router LAN interface Gi0/0. There is no ip inspect configured for the port connected to WAE or the WAN interface. In this case, do I still need to configure "ip inspect WAAS enable" globally?
One other question: should I also configure "ip inspect" for the router port connected to WAE, as a good practice?
    Thanks
    Gary

    Hi Gary,
The purpose of adding ip inspect command to interface is to allow the auto-discovery option that goes with initial SYN packet to carry all the way to other side WAE unit during initial 3-way TCP handshake. This command tells the IOS not to strip-off Auto-discovery option.
Hence you really do not need that on LAN side / interface connected to WAE. Once WAE receives the packet with this option, it identifies the peer and start optimizing from that point onwards.
On the other side, having this command on those interfaces will not hurt, too.
But, you need ip inspect waas command only if the WAEs across the WAN are not recognizing each other due to zone based firewall policy or any other security appliances. Otherwise you are good without this command.
More details can be found here: Configuring Directed Mode
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.

  • How to enable Creative Software in Vista with SBLive 5.1 Digi

******NOTE: This workaround involves using a 3rd party driver, and is not officially supported by Creative Labs ******
Please add any comments on the original post, found here: http://forums.creative.com/creativel...essage.id=7420
***this solution seems a little hit and miss, i have had everything working for two days but just installed the latest ATI 7.2 catalyst driver and what do you know, the only thing that works now is wave studio, all other programs put the windows "this program has stopped working" message. I do not know whether or not this is directly related to the ATI driver or a windows update, but i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything. It has worked and i assume still does for some people....so this is not a guaranteed solution, it seems to be down to each machine as to whether this workaround works. I still have working sound, and its just as good, just no EAX anymore, and the functionality of most the programs seems to have disappeared. Still probably worth a try and you have nothing to lose*** I believe i have found a solution for users of SoundBlaster Live 5. Digital users on Vista. This workaround may support other soundblaster live cards, i have only been able to test it on mine so far so if anyone wants to test other cards, please let me know so we can add them to this list. This workaround should allow you to install your creative software from your installation disk, with a high level of functionality in VISTA, as well as getting your SBLive card working very nicely. So far, i have managed to use:
Playcentre, with all options including EAX Recorder, althought it will only let you record from the microphone EAX control panel, including modifying, importing and exporting of all Enviroments, FX and EQs Wavestudio - fully operational Audio HQ - Speakers and surround mixer dont work - EAX control panel will deal with most of this, and going to the sound option in Vista control panel will let you enable bass/treble and speaker config. Windows DriversMindisc Studio - This seems to work, although i no longer have a minidisc so cant confirm to what extent Remote Centre - as above. To actually achieve this is relatively simple, but i think a few people havent done all the steps, just the first few, and are left a bit confused as to how to set it up. If you follow these steps you should have nothing to set up, by the last step you should have a system which thinks it has a SBlive installed, and all the standard creative software in the start menu, to use almost as normal. It is relatively uncomplicated to do and takes about 5-20 minutes.
STEP ONE If your card is currently installed IE: it appears as recognised in the device manager, begin by uninstalling it. You should ideally begin this whole process with your card uninstalled. STEP TWO Download the following driver:http://download.kxproject.lugosoft.com/downloads/kxdrv3538m-full.exe
** This is a third party driver and is not endorsed or supported by creative.
What this driver will do is allow your pc to recognise your SBlive. Download the driver somewhere convienient EG: desktop. Do not install yet
STEP THREE Reboot your system, and when the popup comes up asking where drivers are , ignore and close them - do not direct the systems to the drivers as you are going to install them yourself. Once you have shut all the popup windows and driver requests, Click on the KXDRV3538m-full.exe you should have on your desktop. This will unpack the drivers and should automatically run the installation program. Follow the onscreen prompts to fully install the driver and the KX software. Once you have followed this installation, you should be asked to reboot, do so and when you reload you should have sound when you logon to windows.
This is only half of the solution, you must continue the with next steps
STEP FOUR - CREATIVE SOFTWARE Ok so now you want to put all the creative software you were used to on XP onto your system. This as is straightforward as you could want it to be - simply put your creative disk in and install the card drivers and software as per usual, you should have no errors and the install should complete in 5-0 minutes - As per usual you will be asked to restart which is fine.
STEP FIVE - Completed When windows loads up now you should still have sound, except now your system recognises your card - and by going into the start menu you should find that nearly all creative programs that you installed - with the exception of surround mixer will work, in some cases with full functionality. Please refer to the top of the thread to see what programs offer what. ***Other required workaroundsTo enable the microphone in Recorder, you must right click on the .exe in the root folder(C:/Program files/Creative/Programs/...), select Properties > compatability and set it to XP SP2
***Notes Bass, treble and speaker settings can be found in the Sound option on the control panel, OPEN sound, click on speakers (SBLIVE) and there will be an option TONE. Bizarrely these sliders dont slide - clicking on them activates them and sets them to the middle, but you can not change them. However it sets it to the right amount, so any bass/treble problems can be resolved using the EQ in your audio player, or in the EAX control panel. To my knowledge, once you have completed stage five, you can actually uninstall the KX drivers that you installed in Step Two. This driver is only needed to allow you to install the official Creative Drivers and everything should still function after the uninstall of the KX driver. You must follow all steps to get your creative software working. i currently have the following programs working in VISTA:
    www.thebast.com/Citech2007/itworks.jpg
***I must also add that i am not responsible for these drivers, and will not take the credit for them as that would be highly unfair on the guy (whose name i dont know) who went to all the effort to create them. I simply tried his drivers, and then tried installing the creative software once i had which is how i got to writing this guide. As you can see from the screengrab above, this worked.

    Hi Don,
I did answer a similar question but of course cannot find the thread anymore.
Your expression to increment the counter is OK. In CP5 the increment action is not listed anymore in the dropdown lists of the advanced action.
In your analysis you do forget this: the user can rollover twice on the same area, not? And do you want all text captions to remain visible once they have been made visible?
Perhaps another approach: create a user variable for each Rollover slidelet, initially set to 0. In the action executed on Rollover check first if its variable = 1, in that case only the Text Caption has to be made invisible again (in case you hide it when other rollover areas are activated), if it is 0, you change the variable to 1, add it to your counter, show the Text Caption and hide the other Text Captions, and then only check the value of the counter, if it is 4 you show the button (or enable it, but I do not like to show a disabled button to a user).
As for using a counter to do something, I have used something like that in my Menu Template (second use case). Here is the link to that blog post:

  • Fix for Bass Redirection issue in sig

    Hi everybody,
I have just ordered a Teufel Concept E 5. Speaker System. For that reason I'm now also dealing with the purchse of a 5. sound card. At first my favourite was the Audigy 2 ZS, but now I'm hesitating because I've read on several forums that the Teufel System also suffers from the Audigy series' malfunctioning driver-implemented Bass Redirection (an issue firstly reported 3 years ago, January 2002!!!) when it comes to upmix a stereo source to 5..
Just to remember: If Bass Redirection is unchecked in the drivers, the whole frequency spectrum of the stereo source will be directly sent to the front left/right channels (and no other channels), and the connected speaker system will have to split the frequency bands and feed its subwoofer with low-pass signals and the sats with high-pass signals (For example this is the case with Creative's own speaker systems which have internal crossovers). But most non-Creative 5. Systems don't have this internal functionality of mixing a stereo input up to subwoofer and sats. For such systems Creative implemented the "Bass Redirection" in their drivers: sub frequencies of the stereo source are low-pass filtered and sent to the discrete subwoofer output of the sound card. The issue is that this signal from the subwoofer output is too weak, forcing users to find workarounds to get bass when they're listening to stereo sources (such as Music in Winamp).
This issue, although known for 3 (three!!!) years now, has not yet been fixed by Creative. In late November 2004, Cat has replied to the Monster thread dealing with this issue on the old forums (http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/forums/thread.asp?thre=396&foru=5&page=34) (scroll down), promising to forward the issue to the driver dev team, but since that day nothing has happened anymore.
My question to the mods: is there a chance that this driver issue will be fixed in the near future? Otherwise I'll have to reconsider my options concerning my sound card purchase.

I have the same thing with this option -and I asking for fix (again....)
I have Audigy 2 ZS OEM, Yamaha RXV-440 Home Cinema Recei'ver and big 5. home cinema speakers. Audigy 2 ZS is connected to Yamaha by 3 analog outputs (connecting it by spdif cause no CMSS stereo to surround upmix and only stereo sound for all none DD/DTS sound sources like MP3, games, mpg/DivX/XviD films...thats why I must connect them by annalog outputs/inputs).
When I disable bass redirection then speakers have full frequency response (20Hz - 20kHz) but there is no any signal on sub output (when I play stereo sound with CMSS Stereo Surround enabled).
When I enable bass redirection and set cutoff frequency to 70Hz then there is signal on analog sub out but speakers have bass cutted off (20Hz - 70Hz) and playing only frequencies from 70Hz to 20kHz
This option causing waste of basse from speakers (they have beatyful basse but no with this drivers).
Even when bass redirection is enabled, signal from sub output is very weak - I don't have so high sub volume regulation to turn it sound loud enough
I have this problems on SB Li've, I have this problem on Audigy 2 ZS and this problem still exist on Audigy 4 !!! (I'am using now modded Audigy 4 drivers to work on all Audigy series but there is the same problem as in orginal A2 ZS drivers).
I'am requesting only 2 fixes in drivers that is satisfy me completly (not only me - many people have the same problem):
. Add an option that will disable bass cutting from speakers when bass redirection is enabled or make bass redirection working only for subwoofer without any speakers frequency cutting.
    2. Make signal from analog sub out louder because this volume level is not acceptable !!!
    Please...
This problems causing that I starting to think about some other sound card from other producent...because that can't be Message Edited by FPPfan on 02-0-2005 08:52 PM

  • Whats Bass redirecti

I have read a few post on this and have no idea what it is and what it does. I have the option but I leave it untick.
I am still kinda new to AUDIGY cards and with my job a contract techie I need to know these things.
I thought of doing a google but hey, this is what these boards are for
Can some explain to me what it is and what it does. Just a simple cut down explanation will be much apprecitated.
    Thank you for you time

Yes bass redirection does just that. When a a mono, or stereo source, or even your multichannel game is being played, this will send the bass directly to the subwoofer.
You should bear in mind however, that most modern computer speaker systems, that have a x. configuration already do that in their circuity. That's why you still hear bass without having a cable for it on a 2. speaker system. It extracts this information from the rest of the channels.
So if your speaker system already has that, enabling this option will have no effect. Because if you set it for example to work at 80Hz and your speaker system is woring at 20 Hz crossover frequency, then your speaker system will redirect all remaining sounds between 80Hz-20Hz.
Also note that the Audigy has a problem in that the LFE output is too low. So enabling bass redirection may in fact lower your bass's volume.

Hi, It's a newly bought printer. I am unable to connect to the printer via Wireless Direct from Windows 8.1 64bit laptop. I have enabled the Wireless Direct with security on the Printer. Connected to the Printer SSID from my laptop wifi. Created the new printer from Driver software. It discovers the printer with it's name,IP etc; Upon selecting the printer and click on 'Next' button on the screen, results in a 5 min search process and finally displays that it could not connect. I have tried pinging the printer and it's able to pingf the IP of the printer successfully. I have even tried disabling the Norton antivirus, but result is the same. regards, sathwik

  • How to get bass redirection/Vista Ultimate x64/Audigy 2

This is how I got 2. sound working again (no CMSS "double"-stereo so far, which would be 4., but at least it sounds right now) on Vista x64 and an Audigy 2 ZS.
First of all, get rid of anything creative driver related (in my case, the January Beta), reboot. It should not know both the Gameport and the Soundcard. Then, run the installer with the "No driver for the Gameport found" window open. Install the Audio Console, don't reboot yet, open the Gameport window, say "look for a driver online etc." which should result in some "This inf is for Win98 and up" error. Ok, reboot. The Gameport will not work, no matter what you do ...
Go to the Audioconsole, select 5., insert your original Audigy 2ZS driver CD. Open "Audio\SpkSet", right-click the "setup.exe" and select run in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2. Then, right-click and "Run as administrator". Should take looong (a few minutes), but it installs the Speaker Settings. You can run them from Start Menu->Creative->Speaker Settings, enable bass redirection, done. Didn't work with the beta drivers here because the speaker setting installer complained about no matching hardware found.
Note, the drivers are still WDM based (i.e., actually XP x64 drivers) and not UAA based, so the XP software finds the same hooks. Curious when a /real/ Vista driver will appear (i.e., not WDM based). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Driver_Model & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uni'versal_Audio_Architecture
Sound quality is a bit lower than on XP (it sounds as if the amplifier has some problems, when I have some bass the rest becomes quieter, which didn't happen on XP, and I have the feeling there is some high-frequency noise floating around ... couldn't equalize it yet), but I have no hickups or scratches.Message Edited by Audigy2ZSUser on 03-0-20070:5 AM

  • Windows 7 64 bit and X-Fi XtremeGamer - Bass Redirection Not Working (No Subwoofer)

SWindows 7 64 bit and X-Fi XtremeGamer - Bass Redirection Not Working (No Subwoofer)% Greetings,
Today I ugraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit edition and am having a problem with my 5. surround sound that previously worked perfectly in Windows Vista Ultimate.
I am using an X-Fi XtremeGamer PCIe card and the problem is that I have full working surround sound, but the bass/ subwoofer isn't working.
Previously in Vista I enabled bass redirection in the Creative Console and this would make the subwoofer work. In Windows 7 in the console there is a bass redirection option but it doesn't work. Also in the Creative Audio Control panel there is NO option for bass redirection either.
Audio sounds tinny and I am 99.9% everything is set up correctley, I think this is a driver problem. At this moment I'm unsure if this issue plagues both the 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows 7 or just the 64bit version (since the console launcher is 32bit).
Anyone had a similar problem and cracked it's Apart from this small glitch Windows 7 is great!
    Thanks!

WRe: Windows 7 64 bit and X-Fi XtremeGamer - Bass Redirection Not Working (No Subwoofer)h heya, I have exactly the same problem.
running 64-bit windows 7, X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card, Trust 5. speakers.
the bass used to work in XP because I could enable bass redirection and alter crossover frequency.
these options are now no longer available in the windows 7 drivers (.4.90) and my bass is not working at all.
it is very annoying, there has been no comment from creative than i can find because it only appears to happen to a small percentage of speakers.
basically if someone from creative can't help fix the problem,?people with this problem?will unfortunately be forced to purchase a different brand of sound card because my speakers certainly aren't broken and work with the on-board sound fine.
so if anyone else has the same problem or any advice on how to fix the problem, please comment.

  • No bass on Windows 7 32-bit with X-Fi Xtreme Audio

I just upgraded from the Windows 7 64-bit beta (where everything was working fine) to Windows 7 Ultimate Retail 32bit, and I am having the issue of no bass. I had this issue with the beta, but to fix it I disabled full range speakers. I tried that here, and it still isn't working. I've tried enabling bass redirection, bass boost, and I've even tried daniel_k's support pack. Still no luck.
    I hope somebody can help.

A little different story here but the same result :
    - Windows Seven Professional 64bits Edition (French)
    - X-Fi Xtreme Gamer (lastest driver 2.8.003?)
And of course one big issue : no bass/subwoofer doesn't work. Browsing on the Internet and on the Creative forums seems that this issue is common under Windows Seven.... :/
    Any help/clue/offical word ?

  • Why is the bounce not reflecting volume changes in my bass track?

I am running Logic Pro 9.1.7.  I have input a bass guitar directly through an Apogee Maestro 2 using the direct input setting.  When I use the mixer, all of the functions seem to work fine on the bass track (fader, volume, plun-ins, etc), but when I bounce the track the volume of the bass is still at the original input setting even though it was materially reduced (-15 db or more) in the mix.   All of the other settings in the mixer (fader, plug-ins, etc) appear to be properly reflected in the bounce.  Only the volume reduction seems to be missing   After some experimenting it seems that the bounce may reflect an increase in volume in the mixer over the original bass guitar input, but it is hard to be sure because Logic only permits a 6db increase in volume and the bounce is being played through iTunes, so subtle differences are hard to detect.  But even a -50db reduction in the bass mix produces a lound and clear bass in the bounce at the original input level..  This problem is not present for any track that was input through a microphone.
I have searched in vain for an explanation.  Software glitch?  Some parameter not set right?  Any suggestions greatfully welcomed.

The latter.  I just recorded a bass track as an audio track along with tracks for guitar, banjo, harmonica, etc.  (I bounce off line so playing along with the bounce is not possible.)  The thing is that the other instruments I play are all acoustic, so they go on their tracks through a mic. The bass is an electric bass guitar, and while I have an amp and could mic it, it just seemed easier to put it on a track by plugging it right into the preamp, which has an "instrument" input setting as an alternative to the "microphone" input setting.
What is so screwy about this is that the normalize function in the bounce window should make proportionate adjustments to all instruments.  At least that's what the owner's manual says it does.  But what it seemed to be doing is treating the directly input bass and the microphoned instruments seperately.  I usually record the bass track at a fairly high input so that I can clearly hear it in the headphones as I play over the previously recorded instruments and vocals.  Then I rely on the mixer to bring down the volume of the bass to a more reasonable level in the final mix.  But with the normalize function on in the bounce, the bass was still coming through in the bounce at the original input level or something very close to it.  That would be fine if the other instruments were properly jacked up as well so that the bounce sound like what I heard through the mixing board, only louder. But what I got was a mix with all of the all the other miced instruments sounding just like they did through the mixing board and the bass blasting away at the original recorded level notfwithstanding the volume reduction on the mixing board.  Very strange.  I assume this is a software bug, but now at least I have a reasonable work around.  Thanks again.

  • HT4437 AirPlay enabled Pioneer receiver, do I still need Apple TV?

I just picked up a Pioneer VSX 1023 receiver that is AirPlay enabled.
The directions are terrible and I can't seem to figure out how to sync with my iPhone music library.
    I have an iPhone 5 with ios7.
Do I have to use Apple TV with this device? I was under the impression I would not since the receiver came with AirPlay.
Any ideas how to make this work would be appreciated.

    Hey
First you need to connect your pioneer amplifier to your house wifi connection. There is an Ethernet port at the back of the amplifier, connect that to the internet box. Then once you have hooked up  your amplifier to the internet. Just go to control centre menu from the bottom of the iphone screen. Make sure you wifi is on and then Click on 'AirPlay'. You should get an option to play audio on your pioneer amplifier. Air play would only work when both devices are hooked up to the wifi connection.
    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

    Hi All:
I am trying to use data bar to have some visualisation of my report, however, there is a problem on the scale. I need to show a reverse direction (heading to the left side instead of heading to the default right side). I am currently use 100% stacked bar
that makes me show the concept, but my number is really small so it is so difficult to see the difference. is there anyway I can show a reverse direction from the simple data bar then I don't need to use the 100% stacked?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Johnny,
According to your description, you want to reverse the direction of Data Bar in Reporting Services. Based on my test, we can directly enable the Reverse direction option under the Scale options in Horizontal Axis Properties dialog box to achieve the goal.
For more detail information about the method, please refer to the following blog:

  • Mastering directly to XDCAM Discs in Pr CS6

    Hi all,
Apologies if this is covering old ground, I did a cursory search but couldn't see a solution.....
We are in the process of switching from FCP 7 to Premiere Pro CS6 and are looking for a little help refining our workflow. Historically, we have shot mostly on Sony XDCAM format and as such have adopted (for better or worse) XDCAM discs as an archival format. We would export our final sequences through the plugin in FCP 7 and that would be that.
    My question is two fold:
         1. Is there a quick and easy way (plugin?) that will enable this export direct to XDCAM disc ala FCP 7?
         2. How easy is it to create a split track master from a sequence that has already been cut?
Any thoughts/opinions on XDCAM disc as archival format are also welcome - currently toying with the idea of a flattened quicktime on LTO alogside our projects rushes. We shoot a mixture of C300 and Sony formats these days.
Thanks for your time - I'm new to the forums so please be gentle!

    Hi Matt,
Thanks for asking, I am actually having this problem as well when mastering to XDCAM from Premier Pro.  Hopefully somebody can provide us an answer.
