Enable Bit-Accurate Recording (Other post maybe in wrong pla

Ok a little confused. I have Adobe Audition and Audgy 2 Platinum EX and need a high a quality true-to-original recording. A few questions:
. Should I set "enable bit-accurate recording" and why if so
2. If I set Bit accurate recording and the Input via SPDIF is 6 bit @ 48 KHz should I set Adobe Audition to record at this also? Since adobe recommends always recording in 32 bit mode.
Thanks

I had forgotten I had this topic started in the first place.... LOL
Well, as I have said in my original message, I normally don't have the need to play .wav files that are coded in DD or DTS, so the fact that this is on/off at any time have little to do with my normal uses. I have no trouble getting the SPDIF signals to my speakers using the other playback media such as MP3s, regular .wav, CDs and DVDs, they all work normally as they should.
So that was just a bit of a curiosity on my part.

    > Theodore, not sure if you will read this or not since its an old post but try using 50% input level. I know this is counterintuiti've but in my adventures with the Audigy 2 NX I have found that 50% input level and 00% output level resulted in a bit perfect loopback recording. Not sure if this will help in your case or not but try it out!

  • Saving Bit-Accurate Setti

Decided to ask this in a new thread instead of keep going on in my other thread.... I have an Audigy 4 Card. In order to play a .wav file that was coded in Dolby Digital or DTS out of my Logitech Z-5500 accurately, without it giving a pinknoise, I have to Enable?the Bit Accurate Playback setting?under the Bit-Accurate tab in the?Creative Audio Console.
The setting will remain "Enabled" as long as my computer is kept on. However, once I reboot my computer, the setting will be disabled once I come back to Windows and I had to re-enable it. It is not as if I will be playing the .wav files on a regular basis, but I was just curious why isn't this setting saved once Windows shutdown/restart while all other settings in the Audio Console seem to be able to be saved (like S/PDIF passthrough, enabling CMSS, etc.) with the exception of Enable Bit-Accurate Recording, which is also not saved (but I don't have a Digital-In, so that setting is not as important). . So can the Enable Bit-Accurate Playback be saved even after a restart/reboot?2. Also, is the Creative Audio Console supposed to be an applet in the Control Panel? Because it is not there when I looked (Device Settings for SB Li've! 24-Bit was in the?CP when I still have that card). Any suggestions? Perhaps a Creative Labs rep? Thanks.

  • Sorting ODS records before posting to other ODS

Gurus, we have a strange issue where we have one ODS (lets call it DELV) that feeds another ODS (TOTSALS).  We have records in the DELV ODS like this:
K-DelDoc   K-Item    Mat    SchdLn   GMSt   Qty
    10000      900001    MATX   1        C      10
    10000      900002    MATX   1        C      15
    10000      900003    MATX   1        A      0
    10000      900004    MATX   2        A      0
In our TOTSALS ODS we get:
    K-DelDoc   K-SchdLn    GMSt    Qty
    10000      1           A       25
    10000      2           A       0
    Note: K- denotes key field
The problem is for SchdLn 1, we want the GMSt=C (not A).  We cannot filter to omit 'A' records from posting to the TOTSALS ODS, otherwise we would lose visibility to SchdLn 2.
My question, can we sort the records in the update rules of DELV to TOTSALS?  Or can we change the update rule for mapping GMSt so that in this scenario, we get the value of C?
I would appreciate the feedback and will award points.

Why dont we try this way... (assuming that you have only two values for GMSt)
Follow the same procedure  as mentioned above (creating two ODS's ODS1 and ODS2, loading one value of GMSt (lets say A) into ODS1 and the other value into ODS2 (GMSt = C). Now from these two ODS's load into your target ODS which is TOTSALS. When loading into TOTSALS ODS, set the keyfigures to addition mode in the update rules.
This gives you the flexibility to decide the order of loading. For example if you want the value of GMSt = A to be overwritten by value of C, then load TOTSALS from ODS1 first and then ODS2.
    Hope this helps.
FYI, if you want to achieve this with just one ODS (TOTSALS) instead of three ODS's...it is possible to do so but is a little more complex (two cases in start routine).
    Good luck!

  • Which media server protocols enable frame accurate seeking and frame stepping in players?

    Hi,
... and thank you in advance for taking the time to respond. I am evaluating different protocls for different client platforms, and I'd like to know the following...
Which media server protocols enable frame accurate seeking and frame stepping in players? (It appears that RTMP does. However, what about HDS? What about HLS?)
Why is it that some do and some don't? (Intuitively, this would seem to be more an issue of the player than the protocol, but then maybe it has something to do with the buffers and the specific information passed to the client.)
For those protocols that do support frame accurate seeking and frame stepping in players, does the addition of Access DRM protection have any effect? (Intuitively, I would say no, but then maybe there are configuration changes needed in AMS to make it work.)
    Thanks!

I searched for a DVD player with a jog shuttle -- and you're right. They're all but impossible to find! I havent' found one made in the past 5 years!
I don't know of any way you could accomplish the same thing with software either.
Most DVD players have slow-motion and frame-by-frame features. (Even my cheap $40 Toshiba.) That may be the closest to it.

8/29/12 9:16:25.316 AM FDERecoveryAgent: No recovery record to post (this may be normal if you change keys more frequently then the recovery service can be contacted)
    8/29/12 9:16:25.505 AM com.apple.security.FDERecoveryAgent: spawn: launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.security.FDERecoveryAgent.plist
I have not changed my encryption keys since initial Filevault enablement (other than turn on encryption for my Time Machine volume).
If I understand the agent properly.
    NAME
FDERecoveryAgent -- Full Disk Encryption Key Recovery Transmission Agent
    DESCRIPTION
FDERecoveryAgent sends encrypted CoreStorage key recovery information to Apple.  It is run only when
"Store the recovery key with Apple" is selected, and even then only if the information could not be
transmitted when that option was first selected.
Then this means that my mac thinks that the CoreStorage recovery information was NEVER sent to Apple when Encryption first turned on, and hence Apple does not have a copy of it for restoration?  (although it accepted all my info and questions/answers when Filevault turned on.
Firevault is enabled for both my boot partition and my time machine drive.
Recovery volume is in place, and can be booted from.

No, never got any input on the issue.   However the message eventually went away.

  • Bit-Match Recording

    ? Hi folks,
I am having a problem with Bit-Matching Recording... I have tried to record from both my mic pre amp that outputs digitally and from another PC both via optical cables. The problem is when I set the output of my preamp or 2nd computer to 96khz the Bit-Range monitor shows the correct sample rate and when I record (from the Console Launcher) in Bit-Match mode the file records at 96khz, however no matter which application I play the file back with the file plays back really slow. Bit Match recordings at 44. and 48khz are fine.
Also does anybody know if the bit match option works with ASIO or other audio apps? When I have Bit Match option enabled all my applications (Vegas, Acid etc) still allow me to record at any bit rate. I know with other interfaces the clock should be locked to the digital input and this cannot be changed in the application. So does the card still perform sample rate converstion to the digital input?
    Cheers!?

mmm ok that really has nothing to do with what I am talking about
I am talking about the sample rate of digital audio coming into the Optical input and the realtion between Bit-Match (which is supposed to set the card to record to the same sample rate as the audio coming into the optical input) and the Sample Rate Conversion on the X-Fi chip. There is something wrong with the card recording a sample rate of 96khz from a 96khz source. Also other applications allow recording from the optical in at any sample rate even though Bi - Match recording is enabled, and I don't think it should be.
    Cheers

  • HDV 1080i 50 to SD DVD - (yes i have read the other posts!)

    HI All,
I have read two other posts and still struggle to get a good clean output that does not suffer from some degree of motion shudder or interlacing type lines. I capture 1080i 50 pal in australia and edit native hdv. On some recent shots I have found an annoying motion shudder when i do a slow pan. I have seen this often on hdv. Most of my work goes to the web via h264 which is great, but with dvd if i choose a format that matches upper field, i get combing or similar. I turned to outputting to dvcpro pal with none as the field dominance and it appears to work better( not sure why).
All my work needs to be output in web and dvd so i have tried a cocktail of uncompressed 8 bit, which still showed a combing type issue, and DV pal which seemed soft even on external monitor.
In the bonsai method i could not get a good result at all and wondered which way the sequence settings were set and render options which were not visible in the tute.
Is there another bulletproof way to get the best pic quality without endless torture? I am considering a mxo box as a possibility but am not sure if this will help in encoding sd better than the usual way.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
    Jon

    Don't use HDV??
I have no idea how to help you beyond capturing as some other hd codec which doesn't help you at all. A couple of days ago, a cam op on a show I worked this week was showing off his brand new little Sony AVCHD camcorder. His biggest complaint was that Windows Movie Maker wouldn't work with this jewel. I had to point out to him that how many years on is it and HDV is still a dismal wreck to work with natively. Live tv cam ops think everything is plug and play as it usually is on their jobs.
Good luck, I can definitely feel your pain. There are some wonks on here that do have good HDV workflows, perhaps they'll drop in later.

  • TS3451 Can't record keeps posting "DISK TO SLOW"

Trying to record vocals in garage band, and Can't be as soon as I hit the record button posting appears saying DISK TOO SLOW.
and then ask me to continue and there no recording.

Try this. Find your hard disk. Highlight it and the do a Get Info (command-I). Look at the bottom of the resulting window. Find Ownership and Permissions. Look at the details. Unlock the lock if needed. Set it to System and do it for all enclosed items. See if that helps.
A shot in the dark...but an educated guess (since permission related error message).

Do you have call to any procedure which does some DML.
Try to figure out whther it is trying to insert into same table before you post???
As I dont see your form, this is what I can think visually, or your Block might have a duplicate entry populated?????
You need to investigate as this is specific to your application.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Ultrascale gen3 core: Bus Master Enable bit cannot be set

Hi, I am running DMA simulation on Ultrascale gen3 core and I find that the Bus Master Enable bit of RP end cannot be set.
In TSK_SYSTEM_INITIALIZATION, the system configures the command register using:
    board.RP.cfg_usrapp.TSK_WRITE_CFG_DW(32'h01, 32'h00000007, 4'h1);
This changes the cfg_function_status[15:0] from 16'h0088 to 16'h008b, which means that it only changes bit 0 and bit 1, but does not change the bus master enable bit.
I tried to use TSK_WRITE_CFG_DW to write to command register againt, but it seems that only bit 0 and bit 1 can be modified. How can I solve this bug? Many thanks!
    Pei Luo

    Hi, Vanitha,
    Thanks for your response!
I am using Xilinx RC model. I also find that TSK_WRITE_CFG_DW takes negative byte enable, but I think this is a bug here. In gen2 PCIE RC model, it used to be negative enable, but in gen3 it should be positive enable. I tried to use negative enable in the code and it does not work here.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I think as such there is no other process. You can do the recording through transaction SM35 as well, go there and click on new recording. You can do the recording this way also but this is not different from SHDB.
Reward if this clarifies your doubt.
