Enable Corporate Document Sync by default with script or policy

Hello,
in our company we install the mobile documents desktop client with a software distribution tool.
Unfortunately, the option for corporate documents-sync isn't enabled in the default settings.
Is it possible to enable the sync in the central settings or a script on the client?
Best regards
Christian

Hi,
thank you for the answer. Pushed Content isn't an option because like Peter said, this will affect the mobile clients.
If i enable the sync-option for corporate on the client, in the log i see following statement:
INSERT INTO MARKED_FOR_SYNC_TABLE VALUES('','Corporate Documents','9666748d-f3fe-4968-98d5-5c5161454a1d','Corporate Documents','true','Corporate Documents')
So i thought, maybe there is an option to build and distribute a script with this statement.
Best regards
Christian

  • Cellular data drain (iOS 8.1.1) with "Documents & Sync"

    I have been a loyal Apple customer for the past few years, but this iOS 8.1.1 is driving me crazy. I have 500Mb of mobile (cellular) data with my monthly plan. It used to be fine for me, now this is going in just TWO DAYS! After the new update the phone is eating data like crazy (not to mention the battery that goes with it). The main culprit seems to be "Documents & Sync" under "Systems Services". I have no idea of what exactly this is. I have "Use Mobile Data" toggled off at all possible places with no luck. The only way to prevent this is to actually switch off "Mobile Data", a pointless solution. I've tried to "Erase All Contents and Settings" as someone suggested in another forum, but after reinstalling my apps I have again the same problem. In "iCloud", I've turned "iCloud Drive" off, "Photos" off, "Backup" off, but my data keeps vanishing. Any help will be highly appreciated as at the moment this "smart" phone is driving me crazy.

    Based on the suggestion of Walter from another post I have been testing and testing this. At this point I seem to have gotten the data drain under control at least for the last 40 min or so I am not seeing the drain. In my situation I had verified the problem was specific to iCloud. I had eliminated the data drain by logging out of iCloud, however that of course, wasn't a permanent solution. I started modifying settings for iCloud drive on my computers that were connected to my account. First I logged out of iCloud from a couple older Macs. I did not see any immediate change in the data drain. I then disabled iCloud Drive on my Yosemite Mac and pretty immediately the data drain stopped. I then re-enabled iCloud Drive again and the drain started right back up again. I then started looking at what items are used for iCloud Drive and manually turned off all but Text Edit. Again the drain stopped. I re-enabled only the services I actually use with iCloud Drive at this point I have Preview, TextEdit, Pages and Numbers enabled and have not had any more Documents & Sync data usage over 175 KB that it initially used when I turned Cellular data on the last time more than 40 min ago. I currently have two Macs both running Yosemite both with all of the above services enabled for iCloud Drive and no data drain. I also opened each of those apps and opened documents that are stored in the iCloud drive and no cellular data has been used for Documents & Sync. Hope maybe this can help someone else who is having this same issue. As I have been writing this Documents & Sync used a little more data went from 175 KB to 196 KB however is not continuing to climb. When I noticed the up from 175 to 196 I had accidentally opened a Safari page from Handoff. I wondered if there was anything to that so I did it again intentionally and it then went from 196 to 208. Still not a drain but interesting that Handoff would use any cellular data as I thought it was a bluetooth service.

  • How to open documents by default with Pages 4 ( "Change All", "Open With" info option)?

    Hello I installed Pages 5, which I don't like.
    So I would like to open all my documents by default with Pages 4. However, I can't get the system to fix this default. In the "Info" panel of the Finder, under "Open With", I can set Pages 4 as a default app for one single document, but when I ask to "Change All" documents and use Pages 4, the system refuses to use the setting I select, and keeps reverting to Pages 5. Any suggestion, short of uninstalling Pages 5? Although I don't like it, I need to use it sporadically, so I don't want to uninstall it.
    Thanks.

    As far as I know, there is not any built-in way to do this. Perhaps an add-on can modify how the "star" works or add a new button for this function?
    Until then, you'll have to continue changing the pop-up list:
    * when bookmarking a page, double-click the star, and change "Unsorted Bookmarks" to "Bookmarks Toolbar" and then click Done
    * when bookmarking a page, press Ctrl+d or right-click the page > click the star on the context menu, and change "Bookmarks Menu" to "Bookmarks Toolbar" and then click Done
    Some users like to drag the padlock or globe from the left end of the address bar to the Bookmarks Toolbar, but if you always want the new bookmark added at the end, then this is not efficient.

    Why is everything so difficult since 'upgrading' to Maverick. I can't sync my Outlook calendar (default) with iCal or my iPad.
    Also, I can't send pictures via Dropbox any more. Two basic necessities that I just can't get to work.

    Microsoft didn't update Outlook to be Mavericks ready.
    I don't really use Dropbox, but if their software doesn't work like it used to, they didn't update it for Mavericks.

    Hey there RMBrizzolara,
    It sounds like you have downloaded iTunes from the download site, but when you connect the phone to your computer you are prompted to update iTunes to 11.1. I would start by opening iTunes and then verifying the version that is running with this article:
    iTunes: How to find which version you are using
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1208
    On Windows
    Open iTunes.
    On the Help menu, click About iTunes. A window appears with scrolling text. The first text that appears displays the iTunes version (press the Space bar to freeze the text if it's moving too fast for you to read).
    Also when you download the iTunes installer, you MUST double click the file that was downloaded to install it.
    You can check in your Programs folder and try running the iTunes application from there to see if that works.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • SharePoint 2013 cannot view PDF documents in mobile browser with office web apps

    Hi,
    I'm receiving the following error when viewing SharePoint 2013 PDF documents in a mobile browser after clicking on the filename:
    "Viewing of .pdf files has been disabled in Microsoft Word Mobile Viewer. Please get in touch with your helpdesk."
    My Question
    Is viewing PDF documents in mobile browsers with Office Web Apps SP1 actually supported?  If so, how can I enable it?  I've already have pdf viewing working in non-mobile browsers. Word documents open just fine on mobile browsers too.
    I'm getting conflicting answers for pdf mobile viewing support from various sources:
    You've got Microsoft toting that they've added in PDF viewing on any device for Office Web Apps
    http://blogs.office.com/2013/07/03/pdfs-in-the-word-web-app/
    A MS support person saying saying it is not supported
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_web_apps_server_2013_support_blog/archive/2013/12/31/enabling-pdf-previews-in-document-libraries-with-office-web-apps-2013-in-sharepoint-2013-open-link-does-not-work-from-preview.aspx
    Another person implying that it should work because you can disable pdf browsing for mobile browsers only
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_resource_kit/archive/2013/07/24/control-whether-pdfs-open-in-word-web-app-or-the-default-pdf-reader.aspx
    What I've tried
    When I started looking into this there was a mobile WOPI entry:
    Application     : WordPdf
    Extension       : PDF
    ProgId          :
    Action          : mobileView
    IsDefaultAction : False
    ServerName      : 20SP8
    WopiZone        : internal-http
    I tried experimenting with tweaking this binding by changing the DefaultAction to true, and even removing it altogether via:
    Get-SPWopiBinding -Action "MobileView" -Application "WordPDF" | Remove-SPWopiBinding -Confirm:$false
    But I still get the same message.
    I removed all the WordPdf bindings and re-added them via:
    New-SPWOPIBinding –ServerName "<myserver>" –Application "WordPDF" -AllowHTTP
    No dice.  In fact the mobileview binding doesn't even come back... but I guess that is a different issue altogether.
    Version
    SharePoint 2013 (SP1)
    Office Web Apps Server (SP1)
    Farm Setup
    Internal facing only
    2 front end servers, 1 app server, 1 office web apps server

    I think the PDF support, if it exists, in only in Office 365. Always remember that the Office 365 and on premises versions will never be in sync. On premise is updated using periodic service packs and Office 365 has continuous updates. (I've heard every
    10 days.)
    In my Office 365 / IE 10 tests, the PDFs open in the browser's default PDF viewer, in my case FoxIt Reader. So I can't prove one way or the other about support in Office Web Apps.

  • I have two AppleID's. Can I set up a new Apple ID just for document syncing in iCloud? How?

    I have two AppleID's. Both use known email addresses. I need absolute security for documents. Can I set up a new Apple ID just for document syncing in iCloud? How?

    Sorry, I did not mean to imply that security was non-existant or horrible, just it is online, so no absolutes.
    iCloud is really not useful, IMO, for collaborating as only you or your AppleID enabled devices can access the files.
    I have multiple online storage accounts with the common free services, but my most used is www.box.net.  Many document apps will readily support it, and even if one does not, you can use the box.net app itself to access files, then open them in the app usually.  And you can share your online folders, with reasonable controls on access to keep control of who can see (and upload or download) what.
    A lot of people I know use dropbox as well, but they are usually using paid accounts (often their company sets one up for them to use to exchange files with clients) and I don't know how much better is the security on a paid dropbox account versus a free one.  I suspect the free ones are on a par with box.net.
    You could also use add security by using some sort of PGP or other encryption tools to encrypt files put up on the shared folder(s).  You'd exchange public keys with your colleagues so they could decrypt those files once they download them.  That may be overkill for many peoples needs though.
    Another option, if you have an online hosting account, is to get one that offers SFTP access and use that for sharing files (the downside of that is having to distribute the password to colleagues, so you could loose control of it if one of them is careless or thoughtless with it).  It seems more and more document-type apps for iOS are supporting generic FTP and SFTP as well as the popular free online storage solutions.

  • Error when email enabling a document library

    Hi - I've checked through other threads re errors when email enabling a doc library, but our scenario is a bit different. We have some custom code that creates sites based on a site template and uses data from a 3rd party system to define the site
    name, permissions etc. I don't think that the process for creating the sites is relevant to the issue, but mentioning that anyway to be complete. As part of the site creation workflow, one of the document libraries is email enabled. However, on one specific
    site, the document library was not email enabled. When I try and do this manually, I get the following error:
    Error in the application.   at
    Microsoft.SharePoint.SPList.UpdateDirectoryManagementService(String oldAlias,
    String newAlias)
       at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPList.Update(Boolean
    bFromMigration)
       at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPList.Update()

    sourceControl, String eventArgument)
       at
    System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint,
    Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)
    Other tests/observations:
    On the problem site, I get the same error when trying to email enable other document libraries
    Other sites on the same site collection have been created using the same process/site template, and the appropriate document library was email enabled automatically (sites created both before and subsequent to this problem site)
    I have successfully managed to manually email enable a document library on an different existing site
    I have manually created a new site using the same site template and successfully managed to manually email enable a document library on that site
    So I am fairly certain that it is nothing to do with permissions as other posts relating to this issue have suggested. Does anyone have any ideas on what is happening, how to resolve or further checks I can make? Many thanks

    Hi qaaweb,
    based on my experience, the issue itself may be caused by some triggers,
    the permission is one of them only,
    to narrow down usually, we try to update credential first, that at some environment may less impact.
    example:
    based on: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262947.aspx, to configure email, if already configured then skip.
    make sure that application pool account that is used for central admin to be the same for central admin, site and the web application.
    make sure SQL server and granted DBCreator , Serveradmin, Setupadmin on service account.
    remove old database and sync:
    C:\program files\common files\Microsoft shared\web server extensions\12\bin>stsadm -o sync -listolddatabases 0
    C:\program files\common files\Microsoft shared\web server extensions\12\bin>stsadm -o sync -deleteolddatabases 0
    Update farm credentials, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934838
    if needed: central administration > Operation > Authentication provider and changed Kerberos to NTLM on central admin site.
    Login service account on the SharePoint server and enable IncomingEmail settings on the web application
    please let us know if the workaround is not applicable

    I can sync icloud calender with pc based outlook calender.  Photos also sync.  But can not sync contacts.  Already checked contact boxes in icloud and and on my PC.  Also tried to reset Document & Data on icloud.  Could anyone help me on that?

    That's what I did... switching on iCloud calender in the panel leads to the following: The existing local Outlook calendar gets mved to an new iCloud calendar.Thus the local calendar is empty.
    Given that iTunes dows not allow my whife's phone to be synced with that iCloud calendar (only the local acalendar appears in the list of available calendars in iTunes; syncing all dioes not include the iCloud one) this leads to an empty alendar on my whife's phone.
    Hence the question how to
    a) get iTunes to include the iCloud calendar to sync with the iPhone 2g (preferred) or
    b) enable a local MS Outlook internal sync between the two calendars.

  • [JS  CS3] Apply Italics with scripting

    There's a keyboard shortcut called "Apply Italics", which by default is [cmd]+[shift]+[i] on Mac, and  [ctrl]+[shift]+[i] on Windows. I use it often because it will change text to the correct italic style. For instance text with the style "85 Heavy" will change to "86 Heavy Italic" or "Semibold Display" to "Semibold Display Italic".
    Is there any way to access "Apply Italics" with scripting? The action is not available in any menu as far as I know.

    I made this script which will change all text with the character style "I" into proper italics, and creates corresponding character styles. "I" is just a character style with no properties. It gets applied when I import content into InDesign.
    I will end up with styles called "I 37 Thin Condensed Oblique", "I Italic Display" and so on according to the various fonts.
    function applyItalic(){ // Finds all text with Character Style "I" applied in the current document and changes it to proper italic character styles
         var mySelection = app.selection;
         var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
         var myRanges = myDoc.stories.everyItem().textStyleRanges.everyItem().getElements(); // gets every textStyleRange in the document;
         var italicStyle = myDoc.characterStyles.itemByName ("I"); // this character styles has no attributes;
         if (italicStyle == null){
              return;
         var myRange;
         var myFont;
         var newStyle;
         var newStyleName;
         var n;
         for (n=0; n<myRanges.length; n++){
              myRange = myRanges[n];
              if (myRange.appliedCharacterStyle==italicStyle){
                   app.select(myRange);
                   app.menuActions.itemByID(119611).invoke(); // apply italics - same as [cmd]+[shift]+[i]
                   myFont=myRange.appliedFont;
                   newStyleName="I "+myFont.fontStyleName;
                   newStyle=myDoc.characterStyles.itemByName(newStyleName); // if the style is created
                   if (newStyle==null){
                        newStyle=myDoc.characterStyles.add({name: newStyleName, fontStyle: myFont.fontStyleName}); // if the style does not exist yet
                   myRange.appliedCharacterStyle=newStyle;

  • Open file attachment from text links within reader enabled pdf document...

    I created a PDF file with embedded sub pdf documents in Adobe Acrobat Pro X.
    Then I created a link to text part (Actions: Run a JavaScript).
    The JavaScript code which is executed by clicking the link is shown below:
    var d= this.dataObjects;
    dd="abcde-123_test.pdf";
    for (var i=0; i < d.length; i++) {

    odoc=openDataObject(d[i].name);
    dc=odoc.path;
    odoc.closeDoc();
    app.openDoc(dc);
    Having the PDF file without reader enabled extensions, the link works perfectly.
    After activation of reader enabled extensions and reopening it in Adobe Acrobat Pro X, the same document raises the following error:
    RaiseError: The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a dfferent name or in a different folder.
    Doc.closeDoc:7:Link undefined: Mouse Up
    ===> The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder.
    Opening this reader enabled PDF document in Adobe Acrobat Reader X, the following error is displayed:
    Exception in line 7 of function top_level, script Link:Mouse Up
    The initial non-reader enabled PDF document displays the very same error message when being opend in Adobe Acrobat Reader X instead of Adobe Acrobat Pro X.
    Can someone comment on my issue?
    Many thanks!

    OK, now I changed the code as follows:
    dd="abcde-123_test.pdf"
    this.exportDataObject({cName: dd, nLaunch: 2});
    It works perfectly in Adobe Acrobat.
    Once it is saved as "Reader Enabled", again the same issue occurs:

    So... What to do now?

  • HT1386 I am trying to sync my iPad with my phone. I don't have a Mac so I can't use the above info. How do I sync iPhone and iPad using the cloud?

    Syncing my iPad with my iPhone via wifi

    It depends on what you mean by "sync the iPad with the iPhone". Technically, you can't sync the devices like you would sync with a computer anyway, so you can't think that way. You can keep the two devices in sync, but if you want two devices with identical content on them, you have to restore one device from the backup of the other device for starters.
    After  that, you would have to download the same apps on the one device that you have on the other device, download all of the same songs, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and so on. The you would have have iCloud enabled on both devices in order to keep app data in sync, if the apps work with iCloud. So enable iCloud on bit devices and go to Settings>iCloud and turn on all of the items in there...mail, notes, reminders, Safari, calendar, photo stream, contacts, documents and data, etc.
    You would also have to turn on automatic downloads in Settings> iTunes & App Store>Automatic Downloads> on for songs, apps and books so that whatever you download on one device downloads to the other device.
    If you have any apps that do not work with iCloud for the purposes of syncing app data, it will be impossible to keep the two devices identical total in content.

  • Sync google tasks with reminder in mountain lion

    Is there a way to sync google tasks with reminder in Mountain Lion?

    Findley you're correct because I did the same thing.
    I'll summarize for all people with the same problem :
    If you are a Google user like me (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts) you will probably run into trouble getting the Reminders and Notes working.  After trying a lot of things I just gave up and decided to stick with Google, except for the Reminders and Notes. In other words :  I'm now using iCloud for these two and it works perfectly : very fast and without any trouble whatsoever.  There seems to be a catch because of the fact that Notes are tied with a @me.dcom email address and Reminders are tied with an Apple iCloud Calendar, but in fact, you can just ignore them and keep using Google for that.
    In other words:  I let Apple create an iCloud Calendar when enabling iCloud Reminders, but I'm not using the Calendar and I let Apple create an @me.com email address but I'm not using it.  To use Notes and Reminders I'm using the apps on my iPhone and Macbook for that.  I can also login to iCloud.com using any browser to access Notes by opening the iCloud email app and Reminders by opening the iCloud Calendar app.  Later this year, Apple will even provide seperate Notes and Reminders icons on the iCloud website so it will be even more transparant.
    So, Google for :  mail, calendar, contacts
    iCloud for : Safari, Notes, Reminders, Find my Mac, PhotoStream
    For Documents, I'm not using neither Google or iCloud for the moment... it's up to you to decide.
    This solution has no drawback as far as I know and it works perfectly.
