Enable/Disable access to Oracle BI Presentation Services Administration

Dear Forum members,
We are using OBIEE in combination with Oracle E-Business Suite.
We have different environments according the OTAP principle.
In the P(production) environment i CAn`t access the Oracle BI Presentation Services Administration in OBIEE, in all other environments OTA i CAN.
See the screens of 2 different envorinments.
Producten(P) - NO administration option
[http://www.imageupload.org/?d=0EF83C701]
Acceptation(A) YES administration option
[http://www.imageupload.org/?d=DD360D8B1]
OBI PSA
[http://www.imageupload.org/?d=50363AB11]
In all environments i have the Administrator(OBIEE_BIS_ADMIN) rights
Does anyone know where i have to made changes to get these options also in the P environment?
Is it in the repository? or in de catalog manager? i don`t know....
Thanx for helping me
Kind Regards,
Mursel

Dear Rachit,
First of all thanx for your replay
In all environments i have the same privileges:
Authenticated Users
BIS_OBIEE_ADMIN
This is managed by going to Administration>Manage Privileges>Access to Administration
I know how to get there, but i dont have the option to get there in the P envoriment.. Administration is not visible.
I cant get in with a link like that bezcause we use EBS. first i have to log in in EBS, then select autorisation Oracle Business Intelligence, Beheerder> answers/dasboards
No option to log in without use of EBS. :-(
Hopefully you know some other options....
kind regards,
Mursel

    Why am I getting error in Answers -> Edit dashboard -> Try to add request from left panel
    +"Unable to communicate to Oracle BI Presentation service. Please ensure you are still logged in and try again."+
    I am connected an every thing else is working fine. This is only happening in one dashboard. Please help.
    Thanks

    Thanks for reply saichand,
    I have tried this from your link
    Hi,
    I've faced the same problem as yours; unable to access other links in Presentation Services. I've finally resolved the problem by replacing the URL http://<computername>:<portnumber>/analytics/ with http://localhost:portnumber/analytics. Eg. http://localhost:9704/analytics. It works for me.
    but nothing is changed I am still getting error.

  • How to mention more than one values in URL Suffix for Oracle BI presentation Services?

    Hi,
    I'm using OBIEE 10
    In BI Publisher-> Oracle BI Presentation Services setup default value is 'analytics/saw.dll'
    I've to add another suffix i.e. 'analyticsApp/saw.dll' which we use for another set of reports.
    Is it possible to add bot of these entries in URL suffix?
    Else, how can I expose both of my OBIEE URLs to  BI publisher?
    Thanks

    In BI URL word analytics is kind of virtual directory, if you want to change this you might have to change at Web Server side.
    Try to use em for your oc4j to change or redeploy the analytics with desired name.
    Just in case you are using IIS then you need to check in IIS.

  • "Your browser is not supported by Oracle BI Presentation Services"

    Hi,
    I have installed obiee11.1.1.5 on windows 7 and i am using Firefox 12.0 latest version.When I am trying to open analytics through firefox12.0 i am getting warning like “Your browser is not supported by Oracle BI Presentation Services” and it is opening in IE but charts are not displayed. Can any one tell me the solution for this?
    Edited by: Uma on Apr 26, 2012 5:24 AM

    Hi Uma,
    good that your issue is resolved. we are generally modifying/adding the header to override the existing version to previous version, so instead of using the FF10+ header we are just modifying it to FF9 inorder to make it work
    The UA string of Firefox itself is broken down into four components:
    Mozilla/5.0 (platform; rv:geckoversion) Gecko/geckotrail Firefox/firefoxversion
    Mozilla/5.0 is the general token that says the browser is Mozilla compatible, and is common to almost every browser today.
    platform describes the native platform the browser is running on (e.g. Windows, Mac, or Linux). Note that platform can consist of multiple "; "-separated tokens. See below for further details and examples.
    rv:geckoversion indicates the release version of Gecko (such as "10.0"). From Firefox 5.0 and Gecko 5.0 onwards, geckoversion is the same as firefoxversion (described below).
    Gecko/geckotrail indicates that the browser is based on Gecko. geckotrail is "20100101" in desktop release builds and does not represent the actual build date of the browser. For desktop development builds, geckotrail presently indicates the build date of the browser, but this is likely to change in the future. Starting February 1st 2012, geckotrail is the same as geckoversion and firefoxversion in Firefox for Android with a native front end (aka. Fennec Native).
    Firefox/firefoxversion indicates the browser is Firefox, and provides the version (such as "11.0").
    Thanks,
    RM

  • Automation of Users in Oracle BI presentation services

    In Oracle BI presentation services users are only visible if and only if they login atleast once so I want to create those users also in Presentation services who have not yet logged in.

    Why do you want this?
    If you need this to assign them to a group. You can do this in the repository as well. If you define a group in the RPD it will be used in the presentation services as well.

  • Oracle biee presentation service is not starting

    hi All,
    Today i installed oracle biee on my machine(having windows vista) andreplaced all corresponding files (like .rpd file & catalog and modify the nqsconfig.ini & instanceconfig.xml files). but when i tried to start the oracle bi presentation service, it was not starting(though i already started the oracle bi server and java host service).
    i got the following error prompt:
    "Windows could not start BI Presentation server on local computer.
    For more information,review the system event log.if this is non-microsoft service,contact the service vendor, and refer to service specific error code-1"
    Then i again replaced all the files to the default one(paint.rpd and paint catalog) and again tried to restart the service but this time i got the "error : 1053 Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."
    please help me out
    Thanks

    Is oc4j running? otherwise start it form Start>All Programs>Oracle Business Intelligence>Start OC4J.
    Then start Presentation services (sawserver.exe in the OracleBI/web/bin directory or from Control Panel>Administrative tools> Services
    Then try the wbe URL

    Hi,
    I installed Oracle BI EE 11.1.1.7.0 onto Windows 2008 R2 server and I performed the configuration post-install (domain creation). Anyway I cannot find BI Presentation Services (nor in the BI instance home directory, nor in the EM console, nor in the WebLogic console, nor into the Start Menu nor between services).
    Could you tell me what sw or components should I have to install or to deploy, or which steps I have to perform to have BI Presentation Services?
    As I told before, I installed BI using OBIEE packages but the installation is for a Standard ONE license.
    Thank you very much!
    Daniela E.

    Try this:
    Windows Start Menu->Oracle Business Intelligence->Start BI Services
    Wait for some time and you may find browser with http://localhost:9704/analytics
    You may access EM using  http://localhost:7001/EM

    Hi,
    Use JPA - see the visitors example, it uses @PersistenceUnit injection with previously weaved .class entity files.
    You can use application managed EMF's and EntityManagers with code like the following - which is not preferable to using @PersistenceContext injection on an @Stateless session EJB but...
              EntityManagerFactory emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("JPAServletPU");
              EntityManager em = emf.createEntityManager();
              EntityTransaction transaction = null;
              try {
                   transaction = em.getTransaction();
                   transaction.begin();
                   Visitor entity = new Visitor();
                   entity.setName(name);
                   entity.setNum(num);
                   em.persist(entity);
                   transaction.commit();
                   System.out.println("Committing: " + entity);
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } finally {
                   em.close();
                   emf.close();
    Use a persistence.xml like the following
    <persistence version="2.0" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_2_0.xsd">

    Last few months ago i have faced the same issue ..then i resolved below method
    Unable to Sign In into presentation services and RPD obiee 11
    Issue :I had a trouble to login into RPD (online mode) the Presentation services lately.
    It was working fine before and after changed console user sequrity things changed and was having issues to login lately after that.
    It always gives me invalid username/Password was entered message when I tried to login no matter what ever username I tried.
    I was able to login into Enterprise manger and Weblogic Admin console successfully with out any issues. All the processes are up and running with out any issues.
    Tried rebooting successfully and still it wont let me login into Answers. So I tried if i could login into Admin tool and it wont let me login there as well.
    So I created new Admin user in the Weblogin console and tried to login using the new user and still no luck. The new admin will let me login into the EM and WLC but not into Answers and rpd.
    I tried deleting old references of the user directories in the catalog and still no luck.
    It has something to do with the credential store. What ever user name I created its not mapping it to the Answers/rpd inspite of both the services are running
    Solution:
    ======
    1. Please follow instructions given in
    How to fix “Unable to Sign in. An error occured during Authentication" error when a user logs in OBIEE 11g (Doc ID 1302924.1) step by step, for those steps you have done, please double check and make sure what you've done are correct.
    2. You are still not able to logon because you have missed a few steps as the following:
    8. Edit the NQSConfig.INI file to reset the FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS = YES to NO and restart the Oracle BI Servers.
    9. Remove, set to none, or comment out the line (see UpgradeAndExit in the following example) added to the instanceconfig.xml file (that instructs Oracle BI Presentation Server to refresh GUIDs on restart).
    10. <ps:Catalog xmlns:ps="oracle.bi.presentation.services/config/v1.1">
    11. <ps:UpgradeAndExit>false</ps:UpgradeAndExit>
    12. <ps:UpdateAccountGUIDs>none</ps:UpdateAccountGUIDs>
    13. Restart the Presentation Server for the instanceconfig.xml file that was updated.
    14. Make sure Oracle WebLogic Server and the system components are also running, if they are not running, restart them.
    b) Relogin as the problematic user to verify if you still see the “Unable to Sign In” error
    Step 2 : Delete user from rpd if present
    a)Launch admin tool and open rpd in OFFLINE Mode
    b)Click Manage > Identity > Users tab to verify if you see this user present
    Note : Normally you will only see list of users when you open rpd in ONLINE mode. Unless the users were created manually in rpd, no users should be visible in OFFLINE mode
    c)If the user is present, delete this user entry from rpd
    d)save rpd and deploy this changed rpd using EM
    e)restart OBI Server component
    f)relogin as the problematic user to see if you still see “Unable to Sign In” error
    Step 3 : Delete the cacheduserinfo file from webcatalog
    If Step1 and Step2 does not work, then do the following
    Note : In the example below, catalog name is SampleApp and the user who gets “invalid Login” error is Administrator user.
    a)Take a backup of your webcatalog
    b)Navigate to C:\OBIEE11G\instances\instance2\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\catalog\SampleApp\root\users\Administrator\_prefs
    c)Delete the files name cacheduserinfo and cacheduserinfo.atr
    d)Launch OBIEE 11.1.1.3 and test by logging in as the specific user.
    the best one is 3rd one.
    but the above all methods also not working
    Kindly check and help me on that ...
    Thanks

    i have already tried below mentioned things but still issue persists,
    RESOLUTION:
    Connect to WebLogic Server (WLS) Console -> Deployments. Ensure that all deployed components are in ‘Active’ state.
    Use the command prompt to verify the opmn status, as the EM console will not always reflect the correct status.
    If any of the components is in ‘Prepared’ state, select that application and then click on “start servicing all requests”.
    Restart BI Server and Presentation Services
    If this does not resolve the issue please follow the steps below:
    In some cases, the following additional step might be needed to resolve the issue.
    Access the Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware control: http://<host.domain>:port/em
    Navigate to Business Intelligence -> coreapplication
    ‘Capacity Management’ tab -> ‘Scalability’ sub-tab
    Click on ‘Lock and Edit Configuration’ button
    Enter the IP address in the ‘Listen Address’ field
    Click on ‘Activate Changes’ followed by ‘Release Configuration’ buttons.
    Restart BI Server and Presentation Services
    Please guide.
