Enable flash content in pdf

When exporting my indesign file to an interactive pdf i get the following problem:
I open the pdf, when there is flash content , i can set the properties for it to be visible when the page is opened, that is what i want. When i then save the pdf other user do no longer have to 'enable' the flash content so that it looks embedded in the document (because people otherwise would just miss it ).
Now I have a PDF with over 60 pages off flash content, so i have to enable page per page , and when the client asks for a little adjustment, be it 1 word, i re-save the pdf, it loses al those settings (the properties per flash in acrobat ) , so my questions is : how can i enable all this content 1 one time, in acrobat or indesign, because this is a terrible workaround.
Thank you!

Windows 7
Indesign CC 2014 (latest)
Adobe acrobat XI , version 11.0.0
Flash is installed (otherwise i would not be able to activate the content i guess ? )
Thank you

  • How to Enable Flash Content?

When opening a pdf document we recieve the attached Warning message. Is there a way to enable flash content for all documents?  Or, is it recommended, for security, to allow flash on a per document basis?  Is there a article explaning this. I would like to pass the article on the the users that are having trouble.
    Thank you

    Hi
Sure, without plugins enabled you'd have seen no flash at all, even the settings manager, not just the 3rd party error message,
Ok, so the check box won't check - I'd delete the file settings.sol which you oughtta find in
    Home/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/macromedia.com/support/flashplayer/sys/
or just trash everything inside the Home/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/ folder
do the above with browsers closed.
the default is to allow 3rd party access, so hopefully that'll fix it.
If it doesn't, check the permissions on the Macromedia folder - it should be Read & Write for your user name.
I think it'll be the main Macromedia folder, since experimenting here shows the box is checkable no matter what the access is for the settings.sol file; but making Home/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/ read only... stops the boxes from working.
    Here's hoping eh

  • Hi, is this the right product for enabling flash contents? I need support for my Harvard e-learnings pls.  After downloading Presenter, I get an error message 'Not a valid presenter' when I add the Harvard url.  Need help.

    Hi
Is there anothe product for enabling flash content.

    Pallavi,
Adobe Presenter is a plug-in application to MS PowerPoint that allows you to add video, audio, Flash and quiz content in to a presentation and then author it out as a Flash based presentation that can the be delivered to others via the web. You are asking about enabling Flash content. In what browser/application are you needing to enable Flash Content?
The 'Not a valid presenter' message is most likely due to you not have the rights to author content to Harvard's e-learning system, but without knowing if the URL is for a Connect account or some other e-learning platform, it's hard to give any useful insight.

  • Flash eight viewer and flash content in PDF

Has the issue been resolved with flash 8 viewer and flash content in acrobat. I have a document that is due on March 13 and I need to know that if I submit with flash content in pdf that if they have flash 8 viewer installed they will not get caught in buffering mode when they access the files?

    Jeff,
This may be a better question for the Acrobat User-to-User forum. This is the Acrobat 3D User-to-User forum.

  • Flash content in PDFs

Where can I get some up-to-date and comprehensive info on using Flash-created or formatted content inside pdfs, using the current versions of Acrobat, Reader and Flash? I'm on a Mac, but obviously I want to create pdfs that are usable on all platforms.
    Thanks!

    Hi, Jon
    Thanks for responding.
I create rich-media pdfs for CD delivery and I want to add Flash animations to the pdf pages. Last time I tried to get info on doing this (CS2 era), it seemed that only the Windows versions of Acrobat/Reader could manage it (creating and viewing). I've been googling around to see if this has changed with CS3 and can't find any info about it, or about doing it. If it can be done/read on a Mac now, are Flash files simply treated as movies and placed with the Movie tool? I'm interested in creating animated navigation elements as well as animated illustrations with multiple states that don't simply run or loop, like QUICKTIME movies, and aren't constrained to movie dimensions.
Looking for books that cover this, online tutorials, anything, really.
    Thanks!

  • How do I enable Flash files to be viewable in a PDF?

My organization publishes our magazine in electronic form as a PDF. Our designer uses InDesign to layout everything and then exports it as a PDF. We have encouraged our authors to use Flash files within their articles to help demonstrate scientific concepts. The first author to do it gave us (3) files. When I have received the PDF for review, those (3) files show up in the layout as a generic black and white symbol and just underneath the Acrobat toolbar I get a message stating: "Some features have been disabled to avoid potential security risks. Only enable this feature if you trust this document."
I know many of my readers will miss this announcement and won't know what to do with the (3) Flash files. Is there any way to export out of InDesign to PDF and automatically enable the Flash files so they show up and play?
    Thank you,
    Mark Maio

You can right click and select properties, then you can enable the flash content for example when the page is visible or other options.
The issue is when you lot's of flash embedded content , you have to do this for each flash embed seperatley, witch is somewhat cumbersome

  • Flash content is making my Adobe Acrobat X to crash (how to disable flash in the PDF documents?)

    Hello
I have Adobe Acrobat X, and I have a PDF document of around 700 pages. Inside, I have several pages I've downloaded from different websites, some of these pages have flash animations (I mean adverts with flash), when I click in a certain page of my PDF document that has a flash animation inside, booom it crash automatically.
How may I disable flash in my PDF documents?
    Thanks

Realistically you can't. Flash is enabled in the Acrobat X Family via embedded code, as it not only runs content within a PDF but also runs several elements of the user interface, such as the Share Pane.
If you know of a particular PDF file that is causing crashes, please submit it via a bug report.

  • Flash content in a PDF question

    Hi,
I have embeded a SWF into a PDF using InDesign CS3 and Acrobat Pro 8.1.7. The SWF displays and plays fine, I was able to set the psoter image in Acrobat and I set the border opion to no border. The only problem is that when a user clicks on the swf in the PDF to make it play a selection box outlines the the flash content on the page, you have to click off the page of the pdf to make it disapear. Is there a way to make this selection box invisible so that it never appears while a user is viewing the PDF?
Thanks in advance for any help on this.

There are two ways to do it. One is complicated, but easy for anyone to learn. The other requires Javascript, which I know nothing about.
First, you don't want to have the movie played by double-clicking the field. That will cause the focus to stay on the movie which is the line you don't like.
So set the movie to be hidden.
Next, draw a button and set it to be the trigger that plays the movie.
Depending on your layout, you can stop here. The button will play the movie and then when the movie is over focus is gone.
But, if you want a poster of the movie on the page, you can capture a frame and save it as a PDF. Then use the Options of the Button Properties to assign an icon to the button. That will allow you to import the captured frame.
The result will look like you clicked the movie to play it, but it was really a button.

  • How do I link external files (.pdf's) in the flash content please?  I'm creating a CD interface

    Hello
I'm new to Adobe CS software and would like some advice please.
My company uses a CD with a flash interface that opens via an .exe or .app file.  The original designer is on maternity leave at the moment but we need some content updates before she gets back and I’m deciding whether to redo the CD myself or to source a new designer.
So far I've been able to replicate most of the CD in Catalyst using the trial version but there is one thing stopping me from buying the software.  I can't find a way to link external files (specifically pdf's) via the flash content.  The CD is for instruction manuals so once the interface has been navigated the user needs to click on a button to open the desired pdf manual.
Is this possible in Catalyst or am I looking at the wrong software?
I can't write code and my experience is limited so I would appreciate help from someone who knows what they're talking about please and any software recommendation would also be great
If I need to outsource please tell me but bear in mind that I have been able to do all the design work and it's just linking the pdf's that I'm struggling with
Thanks in advance and for any help

    Hi Bear,
    Thanks for your quick answer.
Flash Catalyst currently prefixes all links with "http://", so you would need to save your FXP in Catalyst, open the FXP in builder, and remove the "http" so that you're just loading the local pdfs.
I tried your suggestion but couldn't get it working so I'm probably doing something wrong since I'm not very familiar with Flash Builder.
I created the button > on click > go to url interaction in Catalyst and saved the project (tried it using a PDF saved on our server and also my PC).
I imported the FXP and opened to "project name / src / (default package) / main.mxml / button name"
After deleting "http" I selected "export release build" and opened the new SWF and also tried the HTML; the new button just opened to my homepage instead of the PDF
I also tried deleting "http:" and "http://" which deactivated the button completely (I expect some coders will laugh at that but I am a noob )
Unfortunately linking to online files isn't an option for me so do you see what I'm doing wrong please?
    Thanks for your help

  • Is there a way to force enable wmode=direct for all Flash content on all webpages ?

I need a way to force enable wmode=direct for all Flash content that's running regardless of the webpage the Flash content is runing on.
If there isn't a way to do so now, please enable this as fast as you can in the next version of Flash.
I've read somewhere that if there's no wmode setting on the page like opaque, transparent, direct or hw the flash content will run in wmode=window setting so it would be very easy to change that and force Flash to use wmode=direct instead.
This could be done by adding wmode=direct line to mms.cfg or even add Force wmode=direct to Flash Settings, easy as that.
I really don't wanna hear the arguments why force enable wmode=direct for all Flash content regardless of webpage is not indicated to do, just do it, I really need this wmode=direct feature to be always on simple as that.
I know that on some webpages some content might run behind flash content by doing so but I really don't care cause I know what sites I'm using and what Flash content I'm runing so just enable it.
Waiting for all websites to implement wmode=direct would take ages and I don't have time to waste instead I wanna enable this feature by now since I have seen what a big difference it makes by runing Flash accelerated instead of software decoding.

You will not get what you need using stamps, especially if you ever want to use dynamic XFA forms.
The digital signatures that were signed with a self-signed digital ID won't fully validate unless the user chooses to trust the corresponding digital certificate first. You should only trust a digital certificate if you trust its source. The problem is using self-signed IDs will be difficult to use on the scale you're talking about.
Digital signatures are the best approach for your needs. They can provide both nonrepudiation of document origin as well as document integrity. You just have to figure out how to implement a solution you can afford.
You agency can become its own certificate authority and issue certificates to its employees. You'd just have to find a way to implement and manage such a system.

  • Flash Content on the BBC in Safari 5.0.6

This question applies to my G5 2.5 gHz Tower running Safari 5.0.6. and an issue with Flash content on the BBC News website.
I often the BBC News website, and until a few months ago was able to play all of their video content.  For some inexplicable reason their website now tells me I do not have the minimum Flash version (10.1.0) for playback.  However, I do have the minimum Flash installation (v.10.1.102.64) as confirmed by the Adobe web site, and, seconded by the simple fact that Firefox 3.6.25 on the very same computer does play all the content at the BBC News web site and fails to generate any warnings.
So, Mac gurus and assorted experts who have earned my depest respect... what's going on?  I have written to those in charge of the BBC News web site and indications are they probably didn't read my message past the subject line as they proceeded to ask me all the questions they'd have had answers to by reading my message in the first place.  In short, they asked me to upgrade to Flash 10.1.0... so that route is not going solve my problem.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks...

BBC iPlayer relies on Adobe Air. AIR 1.5.3 is the last version of AIR that supports Mac PowerPC and Windows 2000. AIR applications that require AIR 2 or later cannot be installed or used on a Macintosh PowerPC or a computer running the Windows 2000 operating system.

I am in the same boat. I cannot watch flash videos on the BBC website or on BBC iPlayer, although all other flash videos (YouTube for example) are fine.
For reasons that passeth all understanding, they work with the PPC version of Firefox, called TenFourFoxG5.app, once you have anabled plug-ins, as it does not natively support Flash.
You can download TenFourFoxG5 from here:
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Now for the intersting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:
    http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/wiki/PluginsNoLongerSupported
    But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
    Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.
I am using Flash 10.1.102.64 in TenFourFox and it works just fine.

  • Adobe Reader cannot play embedded Flash content

I don't know why, the Flash format was originally created by Macromedia, and then Adobe acquired the company, but the Adobe Reader cannot display Flash content.
    My PDF file is here:
    http://genifer.googlecode.com/files/agi-book.pdf
    Scroll to page 37.
The original SWF file is here:
    http://genifer.googlecode.com/files/unified-AND-OR.swf
which *can* be played on my Chrome browser.
But when I embedded the SWF file in the PDF, the result is unplayable.
A clue is:  Adobe Reader asked me to download QuickTime to display media contents.  So I downloaded QuickTime.  But QuickTime nowadays has removed Flash support.  Why did Adobe Reader ask me to download QuickTime to display Flash, when Adobe owns the Flash format?
I have also tried selecting other media players in the Reader's option box (eg, Windows Media, Windows built-in, Adobe Flash, etc) but none of them works.
I have also tried using Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.  Same result.
It seems to be a problem with Adobe Reader.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Adobe Reader most certainly CAN play embedded Flash content, but only if you embed it properly.
You're seeing a Quicktime warning because you're embedding the SWF as "legacy media" content - this is no longer supported for authoring and is disabled by default for playback. You should use Rich Media Annotations instead (embedding using the multimedia/flash tool in Acrobat 9 or Acrobat X).

  • Insert PDF with Flash into another PDF and it does not display.

When attempting to insert an Adobe Acrobat file with flash elements into another Adobe Acrobat file, the latter will not display the file on screen. Instead it shows this message "For the best experience, open this PDF portfolio in Acrobat X or Adobe Reader X, or later." Please help.

Yes I would have thought so. Adobe Acrobat and Reader have the ability to view flash content items however this is not the case. I will explain step by step what I am doing. I have done this for years before and I have recently formatted my computer and had to reinstall the software.
Here is a little background information:
    System:
    Windows 7 Professional 64bit
    AMD-FX 4100 Quad Core CPU
    8GB RAM
    250GB free on HDD
    Software Installed:
    Adobe Acrobat X Pro
    Adobe Reader XI
    Adobe Flash 17.0.0.134
Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010
    Steps taken:
    Open Outlook
    Select a few messages
Click on Convert to Adobe PDF
    Save the new file "toInsert.pdf"
    Open "main.pdf" file
Click and drag "toInsert.pdf" file from desktop into the thumbnail area of the "main.pdf" file to insert.
Attached Error. Please advise. Thank you.

    == This happened ==
    A few times a week
== Not sure when it statrted

    Hi.
When this happens, please press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and see how much RAM and CPU Firefox is using. If they're sky high, then... Well, that kind of issues are, unfortunately, more common and the we'd like. Thankfully, 99% of the cases are very easy to solve. However, you do need to diagnose what your exact problem is. Do this:
    #run Firefox in safe-mode to disable all extensions and plugins. If this fixes your issues, be them with RAM or CPU usage, then you know it's a problem with plugins or extensions. Proceed to number 2. If safe-mode doesn't fix the issues, then read bellow, after this list;
    #update all extensions and plugins in your Firefox. If this doesn't solve the issues, proceed to the following number;
#disable all extensions and plugins in your Firefox (not running safe-mode). Being certain that, as in safe-mode, the problems you're having have gone away, enable one plugin at a time. You should be certain that you WANT that plugin to be enabled, so keep your overall number of plugins as low as possible. When you encounter the problems, you know you've found a problematic plugin, so disable it for good. Keep enabling all plugins (except problematic ones) until you've gone through them all.
    #enable one extension at a time. Again, be certain that you WANT that extension to be enabled, so keep your overall number of extensions as low as possible. When you encounter the problems, you know you've found a problematic extension, so disable it for good. Keep enabling all your extensions (except problematic ones) until you've gone through them all;
#you're done! You've fixed your problems with problematic add-ons.
Ok, if disabling all extensions and plugins through safe-mode didn't work to bring Firefox's CPU and RAM usage to good levels, then you have different issue. The most likely scenario is that you have a third party software running on your computer that is messing with Firefox. Do as follows:
    #do a virus/malware check on your computer. If this doesn't fix it, proceed;
    #disable all software running in the background that you don't want to have running in the background (in windows, this is done by pressing WINDOWS+R in your keyboard, typing "msconfig" (without the commas) and pressing enter. Now, under the "Startup" tab, you can uncheck the software you don't want, and reboot your system for changes to take effect. If you're unsure of what software you want running, ask someone with more experience). If this doesn't fix you issues with Firefox, proceed;
    #check your firewall/antivirus/security suite for enabled functions/features that you don't want and/or may be conflicting with Firefox. You'll find that these features are most likely tied to Internet Security features, such as link scanners or URL checkers and the like. If you're not sure they are conflicting with Firefox, simply try to disable to see whether or not that's true. As long as you don't browse the web with your antivirus completely off and your firewall completely turned off, there should be no problems. If this doesn't solve the issues, proceed to the following number;
#check your operating system security options, mainly advanced options that are not configured by default. While it's very unlikely that this may be the cause of the problem (after all, it's the last item on the list), it's remotely possible. If this doesn't do it, I'm out of ideas. Except make sure you've followed my instructions correctly.
