Enable Landscape Configurator - Runtime tab? Please guide...

Hello All,
Am working on EP7 SR2 and its like a development server....one instance in the lanscape here.
Question:
Am I suppose to enable the Development checkbox which appears under Landscape Configurator -> Runtime tab (this appears after Tack tab) or this is used by CMS to transport components?

-> KM - Following blogs KM transports: Part II & KM transports: Part III, the KM export file is generated with ConfigCM extension. I did try changing the extension from ConfigCM to ConfigfArchieve but I an unable to open the file either way.
Any guidance on this please.
-> PCD - Have exported entire PCD contents into this .epa file. How do I open this file?

The EPA file is a WinRAR/ZIP file.
Comparing configurations is non-trivial, and you will have some challenges! There are often SIDs and instance numbers scattered through the config..

Query - JDI Template Configuration Tool...Please guide

Hello All,
Am working on 04 version and have finished installing & configuration of basic NWDI components.
There is an additional configuration of 'Template Configuration Tool'
And as far as I read...its use is into administration and not development.
Questions:
1. Can I skip this configuration? The installation doc does not mention it as optional or mandatory though.
2. What could be the implications if I skip this step?
3. The description says this tool provides a framework to NetWeaver components to create their own configuration templates.
Please give me some examples to understand this better.

5.1 Template Configuration Tool
Purpose
This component is a tool for configuring the J2EE Engine and the SAP NetWeaver
components running on top of it. To configure the system properly, the Template
Configuration Tool uses specially designed templates for each component.
You can find the latest information about the Template Configuration Tool and
the related configuration templates in SAP Note 739788.
Implementation Considerations
The installation procedure of the J2EE Engine and the SAP NetWeaver components provides the system with a default configuration. You can run the system using the initial configuration;however, this does not guarantee that the available resources are utilized optimally or that the system will function properly. Using the Template Configuration Tool and the templates provided by each component, you can easily adjust the infrastructure to the particular needs of the scenario that you are running. Therefore, we recommend that you run the Template Configuration Tool after installing the J2EE Engine.
The Template Configuration Tool is run only once for each server instance. If
you expand the cluster vertically later on by adding new instances to it, you
should run the tool on each new instance, so that all instances in the cluster
are configured in the same way.
Integration
While the Template Configuration Tool provides the framework for processing the templates, each SAP NetWeaver component provides its specific template.
Features
The Template Configuration Tool is the framework that enables other SAP NetWeaver
components to create their own configuration templates. You can use the tool to apply and restore a particular system configuration.
You can choose to apply the appropriate configuration templates depending on your
particular scenario. For example, you may choose to apply a template for an Enterprise Portal scenario where you have a portal running on top of the J2EE Engine. Note that this may influence not just the configuration of the component itself, but also the settings of the J2EE Engine.
The tool is instance-based that is, it configures the J2EE Engine based on the available hardware resources on a particular host, as well as some additional settings such as allocated memory. This means that you must run the tool separately for each Java instance that you have installed.
The Template Configuration Tool is designed to automatically detect most of the parameters that are used to define the configuration of the system. The tool provides wizards that guide you through the process of choosing which function you want to use, selecting the appropriate templates, and filling in the required parameters.

Tap on the id in Settings > Store and log out of it and then login with your id. Any content already on the iPad will be tied to the previous owner's id and it can't be copied or transferred to your id - so it's probably best to do restore the iPad back to factory defaults and start as from new with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents And Settings

Had the same problem. I uninstalled icloud, restarted my pc and reinstalled icloud and it's working fine. Hope this helps.

You cannot. From a legal standpoint, the license agreement for OS X mandates that you run OS X only on Apple hardware. HP is not (yet) owned by Apple.
From a technical standpoint, your HP laptop doesn't use EFI, but rather an early predecessor called a BIOS. Apple is the only vendor of consumer computer hardware that uses EFI; other vendors reserve EFI for use in servers.
Secondly, Apple's operating systems support a rather limited number of configurations of video hardware and mainboard chipsets directly since they need only support those systems that they manufacture. NWA is not opening in PI 7.1 from Configuration & Monitoring tab

When i try opening NWA from Configuration & Monitoring tab, it is not giving me proper results as i do from /nwa in generic scenario. I'm getting message as "No data available to the system selector".
I'm using PI 7.1.
Do i need to configure anything?

For a NW04s studio these paths are not correct, the plugin directories have some version suffix.

In SAP Query, I need to put a new coulmn of each record for the difference of Billing date and PGI date as a work days.
eg: Billing Date = 02.05.2008
PGI Date = 08.05.2008
Take a Variable i.e. Days = Billing Date - PGI Date that will display as 5 days by excluding Saturday and Sunday.
After doing calculation of these work days for each record, we need a to add a new coulmn in that record as field lable as "Work Days" and display.
Please Guide me in this regard

Hi Rama,
In SQ01 when you are in the fields (first would be attributes, when you click next it takes you to field groups, and again when you click next if takes you to fields tab) check the following menu path
EDIT -> LOCAL FIELD -> CREATE
You can define the formula as per your requirement and populate the field.

Problem in BW System in Portal..Its urgent.. Please guide

Working in a load balancing landscape
Requirement:
Need to create a BW Report iView (which isnt working)
Problem / Questions:
1. Created a BW System in portal but since its load balancing, please confirm if this is all right:
- Using Logon Tickets Name
- Group = ?group?
- Message Server = ?server?:?port?
- SID = ?r3name?
- Server Port = blank
- SAP Client = blank
- System Type = SAP_BW
- WAS Host = ?server?:?port?
- WAS Protocol = http
- User Mapping Type = admin
2. Tested the connection and the WAS & Connector Tests fail.
3. When I preview the SAP BW Report iView, get a prompt error saying
" session management will not work!
Please check the DSM log file for details.
you can turnoff this alert ..... "
Now, Ive seen many posts which show how can I disable this prompt message but it would not solve the problem. On clicking on "ok" from the above mentioned prompt, I get an error saying "Page cannot be displayed"..
Please guide.....

Do the following:
1. Property Category : Connector
Group -> You can check this from the SAP Logon Pad. Click on groups and then click on generate list.
Logical System Name -> <SID>CLNT<Client Number>
Message Server -> You can also find the message server from the SAP Logon Pad or ask the BASIS team. On SAP Logon Pad, click on groups -> You can see the servers in the group.
Remote Host Type -> 3
SAP Client -> You can get this from SAP Logon Pad or contact the BASIS team. A system can have many clients to be particular.
SID -> System ID of your BW system. This would also be available from SAP Logon Pad or contact the BASIS team for information
Server Port = The server port would be 80<System Number> i.e. 8000 if the system number is 00 and 8001 if system number is 01
System Type -> SAP_BW
2. Property Category : ITS
ITS Host Name -> If it's WAS6.40 and above, it would be an integrated ITS which means the ITS hostname is same as your BW System Host Name. i.e. xxxx.abc.com:80<system number>
ITS path -> /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/
ITS Protocol -> http
3. Property Category : User Management
Logon Method -> SAPLOGONTICKET
User Mapping Type -> admin, user
4. Property Category : WAS
WAS Host = Fully Qualified Domain Name of BW System : 80<system number>
WAS Protocol = http
Check the connection then.

Query on File System Repository..Please guide

I have successfully created the File System Repository, connecting a folder on my windows 2000 machine to an EP (Netweaver 2004s) KM, following the steps like:
1. Creation of Windows System
2. Network Path since the server and my machine are seperate systems
3. Creation of the File System Repository.
You may refer to the above steps in detail using <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/e3/92322ab24e11d5993800508b6b8b11/frameset.htm">link</a>
Question:
1. After the successful creation, I deleted the Windows system created, but the File System Repository was still working all fine. Why so? Shouldn't this throw me an exception?
2. While creation of the Windows System, I entered the ID and Desription.
In the Network Paths, I entered the folder's name (folder which is on my machine/which is to mapped) & my machine's username + password.
Then how does the system/server know which windows system is to be mapped for the netwrok path?
In other words, what is the mapping betweeen the Network path & Windows system?
3. If you access the above link, there is a step of creating a System in the Portal System Landscape. What is the need to do this? Can you please explain......
Why create a PCD System object, System Alias, etc....
Would appreciate if you please help me understand this concept.....

I'm too facing similar problem as when i try saving the runtime systems similar error comes.
For your insight to my problem:
1. Is this first time you are creating a track ? --> Yeah track is getting created for first time.
2. Have you created Product and SC with all 3 required dependencies ? --> Only in SC that dependencies have been created and not product. will that matter here.
3. Have host file entries for all runtime systems is made in NWDI server ? ---> where do i look for this?
