Enable LTE

I bough a new I phone 6 plus and can't find enable LTE only 4G , can somebody advice me why?

You have it reversed, T-Mobile USA and then AT&T display "4G" when actually on HSPA+ and the standards group caved and called this 4G. LTE (Long Term Evolution) is a means that most every carrier is using for the latest iteration of "4G" (although some diehards from the start claimed the first iteration of LTE didn't qualify as 4G). LTE has nothing to do with AT&T.
I know in Brazil they display LTE when connected to that network, same in Canada in Mexico. There are also many threads here about LTE, and displaying it, in Africa, the mideast, etc. I know when my cousin's wife was recently in Belgium her phone, and her brother's, both displayed LTE and many from India have posted here that they are "stuck" on LTE and can no longer downshift to 3G or 2G.
Is it possible that your carrier, or just the UK, is using the 4G display?

  • Iphone 5  Enable LTE

I have Iphone 5 here in Oman. But there is no any option of Enable LTE in cellular settings. Why is it so? Mobile Operators have LTE services and my SIM is also privisioned with LTE.\
I cannot see an option of "Enable LTE" at all ......
Carrier Supports LTE for iPhone 5  -  Middle East 3 Country Supports UAE,Saudi Arabia,Kuwait  but  Oman ( omantel )   ?

Carriers must be listed as supported LTE carriers by Apple to make the functionality available.  There are no carriers in Oman that support LTE based on Apples requirements.  http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/

  • HT1807 in the general setting, i turned off cellular and made sure that the cellular date, enable lte and data roaming was off. if when off, i was receiving telephone calls while travelling in the usa

while travelling in the usa, i turned off cellular in settings and also made sure that the cellular data, enable lte and data roaming was off. \however, i was still receiging telephone calls

Turning off cellular data doesn't turn off the ability of the phone to make or receive phone calls. In order to do that, you'd need to put the phone in Airplane Mode.

  • Enable LTE on Iphone 5

Hi , I want to know how I enable LTE on my Iphone 5 ?
How I know in AT&T have Iphone 5 device where have menu with Enable LTE .
In other device i didnt see this menu .
Somebody can explain me why ?

    I understand you perfectly.
There is no enable LTE option on the iPhone.
Either your carrier has and LTE network that is compatible with the iPhone and you are in an area covered by it, or not.
If you are in an area covered by LTE and the provider's network is compatible with the iPhone (meaning a compatible band for the model of iPhone) you have, then contact the provider to troubleshoot your account.

  • Enable 3G in addition to Enable LTE

Sometimes it is necessary to register in GSM network instead of UMTS. But after iPhone got the feature "Enable LTE" it became impossible. Now iPhone has only this mode and turning off 3G mode is unavailable, unfortunately.
Does Apple think about this function to add in? Need it very much.

I live in Russian and our carriers don't shut down 2G networks. Moreover, they would not do this for... I think rather long period, because a lot of customers use 2nd generation network (especially in machine to machine services it is very popular). Also we have a big territory and 3G network coverage, which carriers build with UMTS Band 1 (2100 MHz), is not enough, especially in the country. LTE networks are in rudimentary status.
That is why situation if I enter the area without GSM coverage is fantastic for me. By the way, EDGE network has no relation to voice, it is only data service, it is not correct to speak about absence of voice service.
To my mind Apple don't give enough options to switch networks. It is not a big problem, of course. But sometimes I need not to switch to 3G network, for example if carrier has some technical problems in 3G network or I need to register in a more energy-saving network with better coverage (like GSM).

  • Why my iphone5 no showing lte when enable lte

They are two very different communication types.

  • The "enable LTE" was lost in my iphone5, how can i enable it?, the "enable LTE" was lost in my iphone5, how can i enable it?

I Guess the option "enable LTE" only appeared under LTE coverage, using an usim which support LTE

Assuming you properly prepared it for sale, you can't. If you didn't insure the shipment, then you're out of luck.

  • Where is enable lte switch in my iphone5?

@Pan.yangpan , what do you mean by "hplmn is in the carrier list of apple memtioned"?

  • HT4623 enable LTE is missing

Just got new iphone 5. I notices I cant see "Enable LTE" option in settings. Instead I see 3G option. Any idea whats the problem ?

The ability to enable or disable LTE would be dependent on your carrier. A lot of the information in the Settings area are determined by the carrier file that is loaded on the phone. Who is your carrier and do they have a LTE network?

  • Settings | Cellular | Enabled LTE

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.1, Incipio Feather case (black), wearing brown fleece jacket, currently 42° outside
After regular checks on my AT&T data usage, while constantly on Wi-Fi at home, I've noticed that my phone used ~50MB of data overnight...just sitting on the nightstand. Told a friend about this and he suggested I switch LTE from "Voice & Data" to "Data Only".
While I'm not sure this config change would solve the issue, I have two questions:
    1. What do you think could be running up the data usage while on a fully operational Wi-Fi connection?
    2. What are the side-effects of switching LTE to "Data Only"? Does this only mean that voice called can't be placed over the LTE data network or does it mean something more?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    1. If it's not plugged into power, the WiFi radio will be disabled when the phone is in standby to conserve battery power.  You can check Settings>Cellular to see exactly what is using cellular data and how much.
    2. I'm not positive, but I believe your interpretation is correct. When you are on a call, your data will be dropped down to "4G" HSPA+ instead of LTE. With LTE set to Voice and Data, it should stay on the LTE network. The end result being slower data transfers when you're on a call.

  • Lte 4g still not enable in Italy on my Ipad 4 retina display under Tim ??

Hi all. I own an iPad and I opted 4G dellaTim here in Italy. I do not understand but 'because, although living in Rome where there is coverage 4G-LTE does not my device I found the 4G network but only the 3G network Tim. My Ipad has firmware 6.0.1 and I tried to update it via wi-fi or via Itunes and Windows 7 computer and it says it is already updated. On line I saw in English which is a version 6.1 beta for Ipad.According to U, can update the iPad and try to see if the function enables LTE-4G? Hopefully then I can go back to 6.0.1 with iTunes and my pc or not? What should I do? condotti1

iOS 6.1 is not available for general download - only registered developers - and isn't ready for PrimeTime. It is still in beta and even if available to you would likely introduce more issues than it would reslove. And returning to previous version of iOS is not supported.
As indicated on the page you are linking to, LTE is NOT available as of yet for the iPad in Italy. Do you see Italy on the list? While it is possible LTE will be included in Italy as part of the next iOS release, no one here has anyway of knowing that since Apple has announced nothing. And it may not. You will simply have to wait.

  • Can't enable Voice and Data LTE

When I try to enable it I get an error popup that says "Cannont activate LTE Calls: To enable LTE calls on this account contact Verizon"
Is this a common issue?  I'm trying to avoid having to go through the phone system process.

That did the trick.  Thanks!  It seems to be called HD Voice now and you have to go and add it under the Free Products option.
Not very user friendly.  The phone even came with a startup sheet that told me exactly how to do this on my phone, but said nothing about having to go through these online menus first.  Why this isn't just activated by default I don't know.

  • After I did a software update on my iPhone 5,once i emanble LTE,it loses Service/Network.What might be wrong?

Hi,I ran a Software Update on my iPhone 5,but now if I "Enable LTE" it will display No Service and no network at all. What might be wrong here?

It's completely situational. Without being able to directly compare the "scratch" on the original poster's iPhone with your iPhone, what gaamcc had happen could not be extrapolated to guess what Apple may do in your situation. It will depend entirely on what the Apple technician diagnoses after examining your iPhone. He/she may decide that any damage is strictly cosmetic and didn't have any connection with the problem you're taking your iPhone in for, or he/she may diagnose the problem as stemming from user damage. You'll just have to see when you go to the Apple Store.
    Regards.
