Enable Measuring Tool for Use in Reader X

I created a Geo-spatial PDF using ESRI's ArcGIS. I opened the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro X and made some minor cosmetic changes. In Acrobat Pro X I was able to use all the geospatial tools including the measuring tool. I saved the changes to the PDF.
I now want to send the PDF to another person who only has Adobe Reader X and want them to have the functionality to use the measuring tool to measure buildings ect. Currently they can see and use the object data tool, and the geospatial location tool, but not the measuring tool. Is there anything else I need to do in Acrobat X to allow a Reader user to access this tool?

Yes, you need to save the PDF as Reader Extended PDF in Acrobat X. This can be done from File>Save As>Reader Extended PDF>Enable Commenting and Measuring. This file will give the Measuring Tool option in Adobe Reader X.

paperq is a command-line tool for managing a reading queue of academic literature. It's usage is simple: you add files to the queue and then you run it without arguments to open the next file in the queue. The queue part of the code itself is rather simple but paperq also offers some other nice features:

I've been using it myself now that I finally stopped using Mendeley. I find it to be quite handy, so I've packaged it up to be shared with others.

I just uploaded version 1.1.1. I somehow missed a bug in which the first word of the author list was being chopped off. It's fixed.

Glad to hear it could be of use to you! Honestly, this also just started out as a quick script but little by little I started adding more handy features.
As for other bibliographic formats, it could be possible. I'm mainly familiar with BibTeX, so I would need to see how the other formats look.
In all honesty, the bibliographic info printing could be greatly expanded: only journal articles are supported at the moment, and mathematical expressions in the titles aren't yet supported (i.e. greek characters). It might be more efficient in the long run to write a dedicated biblio parsing program that loads some pre-written BibTeX-parsing library rather than all the crazy sed work that's going on in there right now. If that's the case, then it's just a matter of loading some library for a different biblio file format in order to support it.

Enable Measuring Tool

I'm attempting to enable the measuring tool (Adobe Acrobat X) in a PDF copy of an AutoCAD drawing.
I tried Save as--Reader Extended PDF, but the only option is "Enable Forms Fill-in & Save in Adobe Reader". Is there an add-on, or an extension for measuring i need to install in order to enable it?

As Bernd said, you'll need to upgrade to Acrobat X Pro. If you do so, you'll have the ability to Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Commenting and Measuring.
This feature is not available in Acrobat X Standard.

How can I change from using Adobe in fire fox to using only adobe app. I have checked in tools to use adobe reader but adobe in fire fox keeps coming up.

I know I was able to do this before. Under tools - options - applications - PDF files are listed to use Adobe reader but everytime I open a PDF it comes up using adobe in Firefox. I do not that. Want to be able to open the PDF right there.

My instruction should be:
Tools / Add-ons / Plug-in
and you should see Foxit Reader Plugin there. Click on the line and you'll see a "disable" option there.

Noel Carboni offered this utility in the PS forum. I have never used it, so cannot vouch for how well it works.
there is a handy little free tool for actually doing good, reliable searches (though perhaps with a user interface that's a big geeky). It's Stefan Kueng's grepwin tool:

If you put the right stuff in the right places in its dialog, It will find what you're searching for - quickly and every time, even if encoded in Unicode. It even tells you the things it cannot search in (for example because the file is open), so there's no way you can unknowingly miss anything. Stefan definitely knows what he's doing.

Modify example "Frequency Measurement.vi" for cFP to read two channels

I am using the cFP-CTR-502 to measure frequency on one channel using a modified version of the built-in example, "Frequency Measurement.vi" found under 'Hardware Input and Output>Fieldpoint>Advanced'. How do I modify this example further to incorporate additional frequency-measurement channels?

Modifying the example for multiple frequency measurements shouldn't be too difficult. If you wish to use the same gating pulse, the only thing you need to do is set up a new channel in MAX (set it up the same way you set up the first channel as per step 3 of the instructions), set the counter channel on the new front panel controls, and add code to read and reset the counter (which can be copy/pasted in the False case of the code). I have attached an example of a VI with these changes.

Metrics or Performance or quality measuring Tools for Java

Hi there!
I have transformed a legacy C application into an object-oriented one.
I am actually having two implementations of this code - one properly reengineered one (using design patterns), and the other one is merely language conversion (line-to-line conversion from c to java).
I am doing this for my project. I am trying to compare the two versions and highlight the advantages of reengineered one, and especially benifits of DP.
As a part of this - instead of me explaing the difference (from my point of view) verbally, I was hoping it would be nice if I have tool that quickly runs through the program and gives me a report on performance or quality or software metrics of the program. (I would be more than glad if the report is automatic, instead of me figuring it out - coz I don't much about metrics, etc).
Do U guys know any tool which will do this kind of performance or quality measuremnt ?? Especially the ones we can download for free or atleast for 30 days trial??
Any input on this will be really really helpful.

It says something like this:

Does aggregation mean something here?? I will be glad if you can help me figure out what's happening there.Thanks very much for your help.

Development tools for using Spatial Data

Hi everyone,
What are the best tools that are used to develop the spatial applications that you guys are using/developing? Should I get something like eSpatial, or just develop in notepad?? Is there something else that uses your spatial data and can generate maps based on your data in your database?

I am looking to develop a map of the US that shows the locations of military bases that we are responsible for monitoring. This map will have an icon near the name of each of the bases that is colored depending on if a trouble ticket has been created due to an outage or problem at the location. Example, red for a network outage, green if nothing is going on. What I am struggling with is where do I get all the geometry to create the map of the US, or can I just use images that are already created and specify the X and Y on that image and use long/lat of the bases and create the locations. This is not a topic I have a lot of experience in as you can see, but it is something I have been assigned to work on.

How to measure the distance using script

Hi
Is there any way to measure the distance of any photoshop document using the measure tool, by using the script. Given below the steps required by me. Hope i'm clear in my communications.
I searched the forums but couldnt find any suitable answers.
1.Open Photoshop document
