Enable mobile hotspot. How do I connect iPad?

I enabled mobile hotspot on my Motorola Droid and my iPad sees it but there is no place to put the password in. I just set up the mobile hotspot on the phone. I didn't pay any extra to Verizon. I have the family share plan. So will this work? Any help would be appreciated!

I hope you had a good holiday! I am here to help with your hotspot. So let me clarify, you turned on the hotspot on you Razr, but you do not see a place for the password on the iPad? Correct? If so, you may want to take a look at the settings (depending on which Droid, it may just be under the mobile hotspot and press the MENU button) and see what type of security you have. If it is OPEN, no password is required, however, is it's security enabled, there would be a field for the password.
Secondly, which family share plan are you on? Is this Nationwide? If so, there is an extra feature needed for the hotspot. However, with the new Share Everything plans, this is included at no extra charge.

Hello Sir!
After weeks of testing, i found the solution of my question. It´s quiet simply!!
1º iPhone (3G Internet acess) connected to Mac mini by USB or BlueTooth or WiFi.
2ª in Mac mini must be activated in "Preferencias", "Compartir", the option "Compartir Internet",
     "Compartir Conexión desde":   iPhone USB or Bluetooth PAN
     "Con otros Ordenadores vía": Ethernet
3º Ethernet cable must be connected from Mac mini to Time Capsule !!
4º In Time Capsule "Internet": connect by: DHCP
                             "Network": bridged
Nothing more!!! Sooooo simply!!
After this, Windows XP SP3 connect without problem over TC´s WiFi or Ethernet to the Internet!
Also other Devices like IPad, or other iPhone, etc.
Of course it can be a created a WiFi connection (PPP) between the iPhone and the Mac
and it´s working to.
But ALWAYS, by changing the connection mode, must be changed the Thethering mode.
In- and Out-Going!

You need some sort of travel router for WiFi connection. I don't use one, but the Apple Airport Express can be packed into a suitcase and used as a portable router. It has to be set up with a computer first, but after that, you can travel with it and use it for a wireless connection. There are others available as well.

Samsung LTE Mobile Hotspot PRO USB cable connection to Mac

I am trying to connect a Samsung LTE Mobile Hotspot PRO via USB cable to my Macbook and iMac. I can see it in the System Information, but it does not show up in the Devices in Finder. Is there a driver that I need? Does it exist (yet)?

So I was able to get USB tethering to work, but I still can't connect to the hotspot as a media device (and view what is on my microSD card and/or the device).
Here's how I got USB tethering to work: I plugged into my laptop running Linux, where both USB tethering and mounting as a media device work fine, found the Mac OS driver on the device, copied it over to my Macbook, installed, rebooted, wirelessly connected to the hotspot, configured for USB tethering, went to Open Network Preferences..., connected to "SAMSUNG Mobile Device". I did all this after talking to Samsung on the phone, where they told me the driver does not exist yet....

Mobile Hotspot Says I'm connected to internet, but websites timing out

Hello, I just got mobile hotspot for my Thunderbolt. I am connecting to the network and it is saying I have internet access, however when I try and load a website they are timing out.
To make matters stranger, my computer is showing recieving and sending packets, and I had a youtube vdeo half loaded, and it streamed the rest. But when I click on new websites it is saying connection timed out.
All help is appreciated thanks!

This has happened to me in the past. I've seen a few others report similar issues. I'll assume you've already tried the standard solutions (reboot, battery pull, reseat the SIM card).
Have you tried connecting to the hotspot with another computer? Have you tried a direct USB connection rather than a WiFi connection?
For me, the solution was to turn off Auto Sync before using the hotspot feature (Menu -> Settings -> Accounts and Sync, and then uncheck Auto Sync). Don't know why this worked, but it did.
If the above doesn't work for you, it could be a network-related issue. To test this, try the following:
Can you ping sites from your computer when the browsing ability is down?
If no, then it sounds like a DNS issue. In this case, try accessing a website by using its IP address rather than its domain name. For example, 206.112.186.66 is the IP address of lowes.com. If you can access a site via the IP address but not via the domain name, then it's a DNS problem. Call VZW tech support to report it. Use different DNS servers (e.g., Open DNS) in the meantime.
If you can still ping sites, then it's not a DNS issue. So, next, try using a proxy server--such as proxify.com--to access the web. If the the proxy server works, then you should call VZW support to report the problem, since it's clearly an issue on their end with specific sites.
When calling into support, let me forewarn you: Give yourself an hour or more for them to walk you through the usual steps (reboot, battery pull, reseat the SIM card). Also, if they assign you a trouble ticket, don't expect to be called back within the promised 48 hours (it's more like 2+ weeks). Instead, you have to be assertive and keep calling them back.
