Enable Secure communication for RFC destinations by using sm59 transaction

Dear friends,
We would like to enable secure communications for RFC destinations by using the sm59 transaction in our systems.
We need to do this manually, by changing  the internal communication settings in a way they can communicate securely.
Any idea or advice on the way it can be done ?
We need to take each RFC, manually check it and secure it.
Thanks in advance,
Jordan

In SM59 open up a RFC destination and go to Logon & Security. There you can enable Trusted relashionship and activate status of secure protocol.
And yes you have to do it manually for the desired RFC's

  • How to create RFC Destination without using SM59?

    Hello all:
We are troubleshooting an issue.   An user created a RFC destination.   He claims that he did not use SM59.   We checked his access and do not have SM59 in his roles.
He configured VIRSA FireFighter.   During the configuration, he created RFC destination.   Document says use SM59 or contact BASIS Admin.     He claims that he used a config table and he don't remember the config table name.   RFC screen shows his ID as creator of the RFC.
We are trying to understand how an RFC can be created (outside of SM59) and plug the security hole in the environment.
    Any insights would be appreciated.
    --Anand

The FireFighter solution changes the RFC destination of the service user "on the fly" without S_TCODE checks for 'SM59'. But if I can remember correctly when looking into this, it does not create the RFC destination (in SM59) "on the fly".
    > He claims that he used a config table and he don't remember the config table name.
Theoretically this is possible - a config table to define the name of the destination, and then create it if it does not exist yet (when used).
Otherwise, see SAP note 587410 and restrict (remove) his authority for the test environment (concentrate on S_DEVELOP, not S_TCODE - as you have also experienced).

  • Secure communication for JMS

How to enable secure transfer of JMS Messages possibly using SSL ?
    a. JMS messages from client to Queue/Topic
    b. Queue/Topic to MDB
One options seems to be using t3s instead of t3 ? Is this correct ?
If we use EJB3 resource injections for initializing JMS connection factories and Destinations, then how can we configure the app to use t3s protocol instead of t3.
    Thanks

  • Java communication error - RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist

    Hello,
We are facing problem when sending reports(BEx Quert) through broadcasting to the users. We are getting the error "Java communication error RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist"  in the Log Display (Tcode: RSRD_ADMIN).
In the broadcasting setting, if we select variable values in the tab "General Precalculation" then we can able to send the report to user, instead of selecting variable values, if we use the option "User Specific" check box in the tab Receipient(s) (which will take selection from the role authorizations defined in the respective user roles), then we are getting the above error.
Recently we have upgraded suppor package, please find the system details below
    P_BASIS - SAPKB70025
    PI_BASIS - SAPKIPYM12
    SAP_BW - SAPKW70027
    Java - Support Package 25
We didn't change any roles and authorizations recently, just upgraded to latest SP. Can anyone suggest if any steps or checks need to be perfomed after applying these SP or missing anything?
    Thanks in advance

  • Steps for RFC destination in TMS

    Hi ,
I need to configure a transport system , First I need to set RFC destination.
I need to do a two system landscape. I need to set RFC destination for tis two systems only .
Is that I need to set a RFC destination(t-code SM59) in DEV as
    DEV-DEV (DEV IP address)
    DEV-PRD (PRD IP address)
    In PRD as follows
    PRD-PRD (PRD IP address)
    PRD-DEV (DEV IP address)
I know we have to set a path :
    DEV-DEV
    DEV-PRD
    PRD-PRD
    PRD-DEV
as RFC Destinations, but where i need to set tis either in DEV or in PRD is my doubt.
In which client i need to login , for tis RFC destination creation . Is that i need to login in 000 client.
If i m wrong please correct me please..
    Regards,
    Hari

    In a very simple terms
Yes! You have to login to client 000 for tme configuration.
1.you have to create the transport domain.<PRD>
2.Go to Dev and QA and run stms and add these systems to transport domain.
3.Again login to transport domain <PRD> and accept the system into the transport domain.
4.Later you can go to the graphical tool in transport domain and configure the transport route .
    Dev-qa consolidation
    qa to prd  -delivery
    and then distribute the configuration.
You dont need to worry about the rfc etc.It is automatic process.
    Good Luck.

  • Decreasing amount of RFC-Destinations when using UD-Connect?

    Hello,
I created an RFC-Destination in sm59 as well as JCO RFC Provider and used the SAP manual for UD-Connect/JDBC to a "foreign" Sybase-DB. The Connection is working properly and all DB-data is accessible, but our cutomer claims that there are more than 25 parallel rfc-connections from our Web AS to his Sybase-DB. My question is: How can I decrease the amount of parallel connections, because I don't think 25 connections to Sybase-DB are necessary. I know there is the maxConnection-Property in JCO RFC Provider but this parameter is globally affecting all RFC-connections and not only those that are associated with the Sybase-DB.
Is there actually a way to customize the amount of parallel connection via JDBC?
    Best regards
    Danny

    Hi,
use transaction  "smqs", select destination and click on registration  change max number of connections.
Try to define rfc server group  to control connections ...

  • FM for RFC destination

    Hi All,
Iam working on CRM4.0 and SAPR3 4.6. I need to call a Function module which is RFC enabled in CRM from R3. currently iam hard coding the RFC destination. is there any FM that can get me a destination.
could some help me with this?
    Thank u.
    Suresh.

    Hi Suresh,
You check the FM 'SMOF_READ_SMOFERPSH' in CRM system.
    It should work...
    <b>code:</b>
    DATA: lv_oltp_destination TYPE rfcdest,
            lt_erpsites         TYPE TABLE OF smof_erpsh,
            ls_erpsites         LIKE LINE OF lt_erpsites.
    read OLTP destination
      CALL FUNCTION 'SMOF_READ_SMOFERPSH'

        I_ERPLOGSYS          =
        I_RFCDEST            =
        I_SITEID             =
          i_sitetypeid         = 'SMOF_ERPSITE'
        I_ALL_ERPSITES       =
        TABLES
          t_erpsites           = lt_erpsites.
      READ TABLE lt_erpsites INTO ls_erpsites INDEX 1.
      lv_oltp_destination = ls_erpsites-rfcdest.

  • Queues for RFC-Destination

    Hallo,
must i assign a rfc-destination to a outbound queue? what happens when this is not done?
    Thanks in advance,
    Frank

    Hello Frank,
In the context of using RFC Destination with quality of message EO(Exactly Once -- tRFC), the Queue will be automatically gets assigned at runtime.
In the case of EOIO(Exaclty Once In Order-- qRFC), since the messages have to be executed in a sequence, a queue must be assigned during configuration.
As per your query, if not assigned the messages would be struck.

    Sreenivas.

  • Custom Table for RFC destinations

    Hi,
I am working on SAP PI/XI. I had created an Custom Function Module (RFC Wrapper) in XI or PI which calls Bapi's in SAP R/3.
So we specify the RFC Destinations in the code to call the Bapis. But these RFC destination Values changes for DEV, QA and PRD systems. when we transport, these Values we need to change as per the Enviromment(DEV,QA,PRD).
I want to Maintain the the RFC destinations Values dynamically.
For that I want to define a Table to maintain the RFC destinations. There could be "n" of RFC destinations to R/3. I want to differentiate RfC destinations pertained only to my scenario or Interface.
How do I proceed. what should be the table structure and fields?
    Kindly provide your valueable Inputs
    Thanks &Regards,
    Varun

    Hey
You should be able to handle this by reading the System Id of the current system
Just have a If-Else condition in your FM.
    If SY-SYSID ="Dev"
       then call Dev RFC dest
    If SY-SYSID="Qa"
       then call QA RFC dest
    etc etc
    Thanks
    Aamir

  • CCMS aler for RFC destinations availability

    Hi Experts,
We have configured ccms alert autoreaction method for availability of RFC destinations.
alert is configured with yellow thershold as 10% and red threshold as 5%.
    alert text is :&1 &3 < &2 &3  15 min. avg. value below threshold value (&4 measurements)".
We are receiving mail alerts for CCMS red alert for RFC saying" 0 % < 5 %  15 min. avg. value below threshold value (1 measurements) ".
But when we checked the corresponding RFC is working fine.
Can anyone please explain how this RFCs destinations check alert will work and what is the meaning of alert text ":&1 &3 < &2 &3  15 min. avg. value below threshold value (&4 measurements)"."

  • Retreiveing RFC destination attributes using JCoDestination

    Hello experts,
I have created a RFC destination in 2 CE 7.11 servers via NWA.
When I use the following code on one of the servers:
    JCoDestination destination = JCoDestinationManager.getDestination(BACKEND_CONNECTION);
    destination.getAttributes();
I get the attributes and everything is okay.
When I use it on the other server, I get NullPointerException.
    Can anyone explain this behavior?
    Regards.

    Hi,
Did you create the RFC distination on the new server using Visual administrator and tested it?
RFC destinations have to be created at both ends at portal visual admin as well as at backend.

  • How to provide security settings for the adobe form using livecycleDesigner

    Hello,
I am very new to form designing,
can any one please tell me how to provide security settings for the adobe forms at client side?
    Regards,
    Menaka

    Hi,
that is a good topic for the ADFS forum.
    ADFS forum - http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=Geneva
But you could pass the user-agent as incoming claim type Client User agent. User-agents can be manipulated, so if that is an issue you can look into Device Registration and the Device OS type from there. That is also a incoming claim but requires DRS and
DRS is not available for all plattforms.

  • Unicode Or Non-Unicode for RFC Destination.

    Hi,
while creating a RFC Destination, what role does a Unicode Setting play.
Should this  by default always set to Unicode. or does it vary from system to system. Is XI  Uniode compatible or not.
    Regards,
    Sita Rama Raju

    Hi Raju,
As far as i know, by default, this setting is non-unicode, and that whenever you change the setting to unicode, you need to run a unicode test or something.
