Enable snipping tool via registry

Enable  snipping tool via registry on local computer as it is restricted by gpo.
Mukesh Saini

Hi Mukesh,
>>Enable  snipping tool via registry on local computer as it is restricted by gpo.
What do you mean by that it is restricted by group policy? Is there software restriction policy or Applocker policy preventing the Snipping Tool from running? If yes, it's recommended that we contact our domain admin or system admin to tackle the situation.

  • Snip tool for OneNote app when not using OneNote via desktop

When using the OneNote app (not the OneNote program via the desktop) from my Asus Transformer Book t100, I can't use the snip tool. Or even find it. I can use it if I open OneNote from my desktop, rather than as an app from the Start display. Which kind
of defeats the purpose of using the OneNote app.
Help please! I want to screenshot a pdf document (which opens via the adobe pdf app) but I can only take snips of stuff open in the desktop app.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The snip tool is not included in OneNote app for Windows in the Windows store. But we can capture your screen with the
Share Charm. With Windows 8.1, anytime you see something on your screen, you can capture it and send it to OneNote by using the Windows Share Charm.
To do this, in a Windows Store app, use the Share Charm and choose Screenshot from the dropdown menu. When you’re using the desktop, it will always create a screenshot for you. OneNote will show you a preview of the screenshot before you
    send it to OneNote.

  • Windows Server 2012 Snipping Tool Not Working

I have installed snipping tool on our server. When testing it under the admin account everything works fine.
But when users login and use the snipping tool > Email > Send. The email shows up as blank. It does not show up with the common red X but just shows nothing at all
I have scoured the internet for hours looking for a fix but have yet to find anything. I have changed the registry settings like this link below
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/akashb/archive/2012/12/08/images-sent-using-snipping-tool-snippingtool-exe-shows-up-as-red-x-in-outlook-2010.aspx
I have allowed outlook to accept all pictures etc. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Desktop Features.
What I think is the problem from looking trough my phone is the email says "This message has no content" or "image0001.png" when it should say
    cid:[email protected]
If anyone knows a fix for this please let me know. Thanks

I gave everyone full control to snipping tool, still did not work. I logged in as user and ran snipping tool as administrator, still did not work.
The snip is not saved to a certain folder. I am trying to send it via email (without sending it as an attachment) which is the same as copy and pasting the picture.
If I Copy + Paste I get the correct
    cid:[email protected],
but if i choose to email only (again not sending as attachment) it has no content at all.
I checked the settings for snipping tool and the box is checked to  "always copy snips to the clipboard" which in essence should make it work.

  • Snipping tool used with PDF's and the start screen.

The way the snipping tool operates in W10 is infinitely better than W8.1 (which was messy to capture a snip from a pdf for example)
    Good improvement.

I agree. I think the Start Menu tiles should function EXACTLY the same as the Start Screen tiles, which includes the arrangement options in groups as well as the ability to multi-select/pin/move/unpin tiles.
I would also add that I'd like an option to hide the search and task-switcher buttons from the taskbar. Task switcher is redundant considering you can also swipe and keyboard-shortcut that feature. Search is accessible from Start Menu, although
I understand that once Cortana is enabled via Search button that might change my opinion of its usefulness there.

  • How to access group policy in windows 8 home premium, not 8.1 to disable snipping tool

how do I access group policy to disable the snipping tool in windows 8 home premium? client has not installed update 8.1. client is trying to save pictures to pictures album, but it also saves a screenshot to the documents folder as well regardless
of what save method is used.
    thanks.

You can disable the Snipping Tool by creating the below registry setting
    (save as a .REG file)
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\TabletPC]
    "DisableSnippingTool"=dword:00000001
    ref: http://gpsearch.azurewebsites.net/Default.aspx?PolicyID=2426
I am not aware of any Snipping Tool feature which automatically saves the snip, as a file.
(there are other utilities available which can perform similar functions)

  • Snipping Tool stopping working after installing Office 2013 Pro (32 bit) on Win 7 Pro 64bit - help?

Have been looking at many forums to fix this:
    ran SFC - no errors
    rebooted multiple times
    all Windows Updates are current
don't want to disable antivirus, as some have suggested
Uploaded a registry fix, which several have suggested - no soap
    Note:
all other features of this PC work great - zero issues.
the issue starting right after installing Office 2013 Pro - 32bit.  It runs fine.
"Paint" runs fine.  "Print Screen" works fine - image goes to clipboard, and I can paste anywhere.
get the standard message everyone posts in forums:
"The Snipping Tool is not working on your computer right now. Restart your computer, and then try again. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator."
Have tried other free third-party tools, and they are cumbersome, and I love the MS Snipping Tool.
    Advice?  Tips?

  • Use snipping tool, try to send as attachments creates error

I am a desktop tech and I have seen other posts re: this issue but nothing has worked - While using snipping tool and use send as attachment to recipient, error in Outlook "messaging interface has returned an unknown error.  If problem persists start
Outlook again".  We run Office 2007 and Vista Enterprise.  Tried Outlook diagnostics, and 'tablet pc optional components' is enabled to no avail.  Any thoughts?

    Hi,
Can you save the attachment without sending as attachment first?
Can you send a website as an attechment?
We need to clarify if this is a snipping tool issue or Outlook issue.
At this point, you may try to start Outlook in Windows clean boot mode to check if it helps.
Refer to the steps given in the link below to start computer inclean boot:

Note: Ensure to restart the computer to normal mode once troubleshooting is completed.

How can I disable Select Tool & enable Hand Tool using Adobe JavaScript ?
I want wherever the PDF opened automatically preferrence changed, default HAND TOOL remain selected. I want to do it using Adobe JavaScript.

You are correct in that it's not functioning, however I do not have that option under the "online and adobe online" section in Adobe Customization Wizard XI.  I have the following boxes that can be checked:
"Disable initiating shared reviews and data collection via distributed forms using Adobe online services (does not affect non Adobe online services reviews and forms).
"Disable the Tools pane in Reader"
"Disable file storage on Adobe online services"
"Enable file storage even when all other services are disabled"

  • Set Word 2013 Track Changes settings via Registry edits or Group Policy?

    Hi
Would anyone know if there is a way of changing Track Changes settings via registry edits or Group Policy (e.g. changing Simple Markup All Markup)? I've had a look in Group Policy Admin Templates and the Registry but cant see relevant
    Thanks!

    Hi,
The All Markup/Simple Markup selection is controlled by the RevModeShowSimpleMarkup value within the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Options
The value is 0 (zero) for All Markup or 1 (one) for Simple Markup.
If we close all Word instances, and change the value to 1, then start Word, the All Markup option should be selected.
In addition, some track change settings can also be controlled by the GPO settings in the following location:
Administrative Templates > Microsoft Word 2013 > Word Options > Track changes and compare
If you still need further assistance on this issue, please feel free to let me know.

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

  • Snipping Tool Failure

My System is Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit Operating System with Windows Office 2013. I have followed the suggestions listed to have the Snipping Tool functional to no avail. I did all that was under LFA72's description. Plus I installed a new user and the
Tool worked until I started Outlook. As Outlook was initializing I suspect it uses Internet Explorer. The other two programs I initiated were Word and Excel and then Outlook. I checked the Snipping Tool while Outlook was initiating and received the message:

  • Message Center -- Kills Snipping Tool

Just wanted to report that I was trying to grab some screen captures to document some work I've been doing using Vista's Snipping Tool -- actually in the process of dragging around the desired region -- when a message popped up (the one about 20% off accessories -- which, actually, I had used ). Immediately as this message appeared, the snipping tool closed and when I tried to reopen it, I get the "The Snipping Tool is not working on your computer right now..." message.
The discount I received from that offer was worth one minor annoyance, but I do hope you can be a little more selective in the next version about when you pop up that window. Maybe wait for >10sec of user inactivity or something?

  • How to lock the PDF toolbar via Registry Settings

I have just taken over administering about 300 off-site Windows XP PCs using Adobe Reader 8.0  One of our webpages that these off-site locations use generates a label for them via Adobe Reader with an option to print the label if needed.  When the pdf comes up onscreen, they have a single toolbar across the top with the icons for printing, zoom in/zoom out, percentage of label, etc.  Found that this toolbar is not locked down because two of our offsite locations managed to drag the print icon button out of that toolbar and then close it with no way to bring that button back to the toolbar.  Since they are fairly locked down, they don't have the "File Edit View" options above that toolbar, so it's not something they can go to File > Print to get around that.  We're actually having to send them a new PC for now.
I was curious if you know of a way to lock that toolbar via Registry Settings by the user so that in the future they won't accidentally remove and close their print icon again?  And/or whether there's a way to put that Print icon back in the toolbar also via Registry Settings?
    Thank you

If when you installed Rh10 you had selected the PDF Add-on, you likely would not have Acrobat 9 still installed. See Using RoboHelp 10 on my site.
The fact that you say Acrobat 9 is functioning correctly suggests that you did not select the add-on. I suspect that is why the settings option is not enabled.
That does not stop you generating a PDF. First, it may work without changing any settings. If not, generate to Word and then generate to PDF from there. That is what RoboHelp is doing behind the scenes.
Typically and document generated from any HTML program needs some cleaning up in Word first, if only to tidy up page breaks.
