I have copied MSSBIZVIEW and MSSVIEW_SUB to the customer namespace and now I am wondering how to enable substitution in the MSS role on portal? please help.

Error in Manage Substitution Rules - MSS

Hello Team,
I am working on new Implementation for ESS MSS in ECC6.0 and the country grouping is 99. I am getting error in 'Manage Substitution Rules' in MSS.
When I create the substitution rule, I am getting 'problems Reported' in the 'Rule activation' field.
The detailed message is 'System does not support Substitution methods'.
I tried different options in the rule creation. All gave same error.
I have activated the standard workflow TS12300097 and changed the task to 'General Task'.
Is there anything else I need to do?
How can I solve this issue?

What skills needed to enable ESS and MSS in ECC6.0?

We are upgrading to ECC6.0 from 5.0. We have been using MSS and ESS (old ITS version of ESS) for 5 to ten years. What skillsets does my HCM IT team need in order to enable this functionality? I have been trying to find classes on BSP pages and Webdynrpo without success.

On ECC 6.0 with EHP 4, you would need Business Package 1.41 for ESS/MSS.
Lets call it right, its not EP 7, its called NW 7.0. Yes, upgrading to NW 7.0 is required for EHP 4.
Once again, EHP 4 is too fresh to implement. Recommended solution is ECC 6 with EHP 3, Business Package 1.3 and NW 7.0.
Apply the latest service patches for a smoother ride.

Substitution in MSS

How will a manager will know/be advised that a request from an employees for leave, or time for example has been sent up to the next level manager - delegation (due to the line manager not dealing with the request within the 5 working days).
Will he be advised in the Universal Worklist or will the Notification be removed from the Universal Worklist?

if you wanted to send a notification, when ever there is a new workitem in the inbox of the user
kindly follow the stepts
1. Go the SAP Inbox of the manager (SBWP)
2. Settings --> Personnal Settings --> Automatic Forwarding
3. Kindly give the manager's email address
after this setting, when ever there is a new workitem to the manager, he will be notified regarding the workitem in his email, so that he can check in his UWL
Hope its useful.
this settings you can do it for all approvers with their respective mail ids so that they will be notifed when ever they receive any new workitem.
The notification will leave the approver s inbox if there is any deadline monitoring in place and so from his UWL.

Hello,
We are implementing MSS on Portal with ECC EHP 6. To let Managers Substitute Tasks to Others, do they need to goto UWL-> Manage Substitute Rules or there is a separate Application(Webdynpro Component)/iView for it available as part of the Standard MSS Role?

Substitution does not work

Hi,
I create substitution using exit by copy RGGBS000 to ZRGGBS000 and activated it in tcode OBBH. When I test using Tcode F-02, saves as complated, it is work.
My questions:
1. When I changes my parked document, why my substitution does not work ?
2. When I create document using Tcode F-65 and save as complate, why my substitution does not work ?

HI,
Note 158739 describes in detail the standard program behaviour. It's not a bug! It's the designed system behaviour.
The requirement can be fulfilled by a substitution when the document is posted. Or you can work with the ENJOY transactions, which enable substitutions when a document is saved as complete or posted. In case of just parking the substitutions don't work in ENJOY either.

Urgent help requested- MSS

Hello people,
consider the following scenario
work flow is getting triggered to the Line manager (chief) and so on to next agents
How can we make use of substitution in following scenarios
scenario1- planned leave by Line manager (I think this can be done using substitution in MSS)
Scenario 2- Unplanned leave by Line manager
scenario 3- position of Line manager is vacant
The workflow i am using is not a standard woprkflow.
The above scenarios are applicable in case of leave approval and trip request approval.

Forgive if the terms are not excact - my system is not in English.
For scenario 1: Use substitution rule "receives my tasks" when setting up substitutions in the uWL
For scenario 2: All managers should have a substitution rule "is my substitute". Then the substitute can go into the substitution rule and take over the tasks. This can then be discontinued when manager is back
For scenario 3: Switch WFLOW VAPOS = X determines the behaviour when manager position is empty. . For some reason the switch is not there in standard - but we set it just for this scenario. The Workflow then checks up the hierachy and finds the next manager.

What is the utility of the Manage Sustitution option in the UWL iview, why is this used?
I am getting a message.
" Substitution rule is not defined in the system" for a system when i click the Manage Subsitution.

Through Substitution functionality in UWL , users can choose other people to fill in for them while they are on leave or ill.
on choosing a substitute , all the orginal user's tasks will appear in substitute worklist .
Manage Substitution rule is an feature available on context menu of UWL for original users to set up substitution.

Use of Substitution Parameters

Hi All,
We require to assign some variables to Substitution Parameters. These variables would change when migrated to new environment.
But we have found that to change the values to substitution Variables, we have to enter the designer and manually change the values.
Is there a easier,robust way to do this. For ex:.can it be done using management console?
or can we use a substitution parameter file outside,that can be read by the Job,and assign values to the substitution variable directly?
Please do let us know the drawbacks and guidelines when using substitution variables.

WE have to give a solution to the customer in travel management. We have configured the substitution in MSS where, the assistant can manage the manager list of employees and generate the travel expense reports for them. Now, the client has come up for fuirther enhancement asking if the
when the assistant creates a favorites list, can he/she use it in creating expense reports for other employees besides their own? They should be able to access both the self favourite list and managers favourite list. Please provide the resolution

Hi,
Sure you've thought of these, but you might want to consider using:
1) a Split activity to divide up the work. Once all the work that was divided is completed, the instance moves on.
2) a Split-N activity to make a runtime decision on how many pieces to divide up the work into.

Modify view object at responsibility level

Hello,
One of our business requirements is to change the drop-down values for several list of values based on the responsibility the user is logged in with. For example when creating a new application, the LOV 'Country' needs to list certain countries under the responsibility A and other countries under the responsibility B.
In order to accomodate this requirement, I have created an extension to the VO oracle.apps.igs.utilities.server.countriesVO that can be found on the create application page. I have tried two different approaches:
Approach 1:
I have modified the SQL code and used the import utility jpximport to enable the substitution and everything works fine EXCEPT that the substitution is done at the site level, not the responsibility level. There are no options to enable the substitution at the responsibility level.
I tried changing the MDS repository. After initial substitution, the query
BEGIN jdr_utils.printDocument('/oracle/apps/igs/utilities/server/customizations/site/0/CountriesVO'); END;
returns the XML for personalization (substitution). I deleted that entry using
BEGIN jdr_utils.deleteDocument('/oracle/apps/igs/utilities/server/customizations/site/0/CountriesVO'); END;
and used the import utility to import the XML at the responsibility level. the query
BEGIN jdr_utils.printDocument('/oracle/apps/igs/utilities/server/customizations/responsibility/23331/CountriesVO'); END;
returns the correct XML but the extension doesnt appear on the screen.
Do you know what I am missing and if it is possible to enable substitutions at the responsibility level (not site level) at all?
Approach 2:
I am still implementing the View Object extension but I am modifying the SQL code to handle the responsibility:

I used the import utility jpximport to enable the substitution and everything works fine EXCEPT that the View Object gets cached and the SQL statement is only executed the first time the object is called. If I clear the cache and I log in using the responsibility A then the countries are correctly displayed. If I login using the responsibility B then the countries for responsibility A are displayed. Same occurs if I clear the cache, login using responsibility B first then switch to responsibility A. Countries for responsibility B are always displayed.
We need to find a way for the SQL to be re-executed every time this object is called. This object should not be cached. Is that possible at all?

Substitution of VO & AM will can be done only at site level. However controller extension can be personalized/substituted at any level, which includes responsibility level also.

AIR-CAP3702I booting up in mesh mode and not joining our 5508 WLC

I have a batch of 30+ AIR-CAP3702I-A-K9 APs that I need to setup but none of them are joining to the 5508 WLC and when I connect a console cable and view the output from the AP it shows that it is trying to initiate in mesh mode. I have read other forums that are showing that I need to put in the APs MAC address to a filter list on the WLC for it to show up and then I will be able to change it from mesh mode to local mode. The only issue I'm having with that solution is not knowing how it will affect my current production environment off of that 5508 WLC. I have 69 active production APs with clients working off them and there are no MAC filters currently in place on the WLC. By adding a MAC filter entry for the new APs would the WLC create an implicit deny for all other clients that don't have their MAC addresses entered?? If so is there another work around? Can the mode be changed via the CLI on the AP itself to make it local instead of mesh?

Thanks you for the prompt reply, i had a doubt in SIT .See basically client requirement his Over time request has go from manager self service, so I had created an SIT (Overtime Request), and I had enable other check box in special information type (HRMS Resp --> Other Definition -->special Information types), But it was appearing in both the responsibility that is in ESS and MSS. But client requirement is it has to appear only in manager self service. So I had created one custom SIT Function for Mgr self service and I had attached that to the menu and menu to the responsibility.. I am wondering that how to restrict that overtime request in ESS and how to enable only for MSS.. Can anyone help me out to sort out this issue..

Cisco 3502i AP operation status in downloading...

Hello folks,
I have an issue with two APs (3502i) which is associated to controller wism2. Total number of APs are connected to this controller is 422 and once I added two new APs (3502i) to this controller I am unable to see these APs coming up. Getting error messages like wrong primary controller nad secondary controller. When I loggedin to the controller through CLI following are the details I am getting for the APs which is not registering to the controller:, Also for comparison I am attaching the statistics for the AP which is working good and is able to register.
Note: I thought the problem with these two APs and will try replacing them but when i connected the other two APs to different switch and different subnet the same errors we are seeing. This is something urgent to fix and need your assitance to fix this at the earliest. Please let me know if more information needed.
