ENABLE TO CONNECT PRINTER YTO NETWORK

cannot connect printer to network

Hello Zentile,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having an issue but i'll need some more information to get that printer connected.
1. What type of printer do you have?
2. Are you using web services? if not you may want to re post your question on the "Other printing questions" forums or visit "Hp Support" which will have the printer manual  for better results as these forums relate more to iPrint,ePrint, Print Apps, Google Cloud Print and other web services.
3. Is there an error message causing the issue?

I would like anyone who connects to my network be able to use the printer. I want to know the best way to configure it so that is easy to connect. Thanks

If I connect the printer to the Time Capsule via wifi will it be shared the same as if I connected the printer via USB?
Yes, assuming that the printer is located where it can receive a strong wireless signal.

Follow the steps provided by Canon to install the printer and have it "join" the wireless network that will be provided by the Time Capsule.

  • Connecting printer disconnects network

    HP-print-laserjet1102/ system 64 pit/ wireless network, homegroiup.
When I connect the printer, the network connection is turned off. When I reconnect to the network, the printer connection is turned off.
I have installed the firmware update.

Can you verify that the printer has a wireless connection from the printer to your network by checking that the blue colored LED is lit (on the top of the printer).  It should be lit and not blink.  If it is blinking your computers might still be able to see it but not connect correctly.
You can also print a configuration page and check that the printer has a valid IP address.
Press and hold the product cancel button until the ready light
blinks, and then release the button to print the configuration page.
The install instructions here might help as well.

  • Enable pop ups to connect to wireless network?

My brother has been trying to connect to my work wireless network (protected) and is receing an error that says "To join this network you need to enable popups".  He has connected to this wifi network before with no issues using a username and password.  He turned off block pop ups in Safari but still cannot connect.  Any ideas why he would need to have pop ups enabled to connect to a network?  I've never seen this error before and am stumped. Could this be some new proxy?  I'm just trying to see if anyone has run across this before.

Hello Natalie, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers for the Interface you're using...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
Then Apply. These are safer/faster than most ISP's DNS numbers, and have been patched against DNS poisoning.

If still no go... See if this helps...
    Go to System Preferences
    Click Network
    Highlight AirPort and click Configure...
Choose “By default, join: Preferred networks”
    Select your access point.
Remove your access point with the minus button.
Launch your keychain access in Utilities and delete your access point keychain entry.
    Reboot
Go back to the “By default, join:” page and click the plus this time to add your access point. Enter the correct password, save, reboot.

  • I would like to use my iPhone 6's wifi hotspot to provide Internet at home (I do not have home internet) via a Time Capsule which I currently use the TC simply as a home wifi network without Internet to enable things like printing wirelessly and back

I would like to use my iPhone 6's wifi hotspot to provide Internet at home (I do not have home internet) via a Time Capsule which I currently use the TC simply as a home wifi network without Internet to enable things like printing wirelessly and backing up data wirelessly via time machine.
I have a Mac Pro, iPhone 6, iPad, Apple TV and Time Capsule. No home Internet.
Is is possible to have my iPhone 6's wifi hotspot used to provide Internet to my wifi network on time capsule? Has anyone else had success doing this? I'm not a tech head and really know very little about things like this. Thanks. Jen

You can have a go using a wireless bridge.. eg the airport express will do this.. you can join it to the iphone wireless running as a hotspot.. and then plugged into the TC wan port.. the TC has to be setup in router mode.. so this is going to give you double NAT errors.. and of course errors for all the time the hotspot is turned off.. but it can work. However you might find it requires you to manually connect up each time.. If you are really going to try and do this you will manage it.. but how fiddly it becomes might put you off after a week.
You will chew up your 5GB very fast using any streaming media even radio. So be very careful to track the usage.
Apple should have built in the TC the ability to plug in a wireless 3G modem.. via the USB but Apple have ceased to do adventurous stuff.
If you give up the TC as main router there are plenty of better products on the market that will handle multiple wan connections.. !!

  • Why doesn't my MacBook Air see a connected printer on the wireless network?

For some reason my MacBook has come up with a case of the stupids.  I have been able to print out to my Canon printer before, but now it doesn't see it.  The printer is on our wireless network and can be seen by our iPad, and iMacs but doesn't appear on the MBAir.  I have reinstalled the drivers, rebooted the system and when I go to the Preferences to look at the Printers/Scanners there is nothing there.  Pressing the + button comes up with a screen with nothing in the default area.  The Air is connected to the wireless network and operates fine with the internet and other operations.
What can I do to fix this?

    Hello gregfrommi,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with printing in Yosemite. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
    OS X Yosemite: Printing troubleshooting
    Check the network
Open Network Diagnostics, then follow the instructions to make sure you’re connected to the network.
If you’re using a Wi-Fi network and there are multiple Wi-Fi networks available, your Mac and the printer might be on different networks. Open the Wi-Fi menu in the menu bar, then try choosing a different network.
To see if the printer you want to use is on the same network as your Mac, open Printers & Scanners preferences (choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners), then click Add . If the printer doesn’t appear in the list of available printers, your Mac might be on a different network.
If you know the printer’s IP address (for example, 192.168.1.100), you can try adding it as an IP printer. For more information, see Add or remove a printer.
If your printer is connected to a Time Capsule or AirPort base station, disconnect your printer from the Time Capsule or base station, then reconnect it.
Make sure you have the latest software
Make sure you have the correct version of your printer’s software (also called its printer driver).
If you’re using a printer that another user is sharing, make sure you’re both using the same version of the printer software. To find out which version you’re using, open Printers & Scanners preferences (choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners). Select the printer in Printers & Scanners preferences, click Options & Supplies, then click General. Note the driver version.
If you’re using a network printer or a printer attached to your Mac, make sure you have the latest version of the software for the printer. If you still have problems, try different printer software for your printer.
If you’re using an AirPrint-enabled printer, you can check with the manufacturer to see if there’s a firmware update for your printer model.
Replace a corrupted printer queue window
If none of the previous solutions work, the printer’s queue may be corrupted. Open Printers & Scanners preferences (choose Apple menu > System Preferences > Printer & Scanner preferences), then delete and set up your printer again.
If you still can’t print, reset the printing system.
    Print documents
    Reset the printing system
    Add or remove a printer

  • Enabling wireless in printer network wireless settings

I have the 130nw... it says on the configuration page printout that wireless is disabled... how do i enable it? i cannot fint this option anywhere in the settings... everything else is set up... many thanks for your time

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for the quick reply. Here are few things that you may want to check:
    1) Make sure that an Ethernet cable is not connected to the printer. Connecting an Ethernet cable to the printer automatically turns off the wireless radio. Unplug the cable.
    2) Check if the system administrator, or someone else on the network, has not disabled the radio, using the EWS. To access the EWS, your printer needs to be connected to your network with a valid IP address. You can view the IP address in the network configuration page that was printed. Open your web browser and type in the following into the address bar http://<Your printer's IP address> Click the Networking tab, then click Network Settings. The Wireless radio can be enabled/disabled from here.
As a last option, you can reset the printer to it's default settings, to enable the wireles radio. This applies the following network settings:  Communcation mode: ad-hoc, SSID: hpsetup Encryption: None, Wireless Radio: On, if no LAN cable is attached.
Reset procedure: When the printer is turned off, press and hold the Reset button on the back of the printer. Turn on the printer, and continue to hold the Reset button until the printer is in the Ready state. Reset is now complete.
Again: Connecting an Ethernet cable to the printer automatically turns off the wireless radio. Unplug the cable.
    Hope this was helpful.
    Cheers!

  • Ipad 4 unable to detect C4599 Printer already connected to WiFi network

Hi All, I have a C4599 All in One Printer. I have just set this up sucessfully with a WiFi connection to my home router/ modem network (infrastructure mode). There are no error messages and I can print from a variety of Windows laptops (XP, Vista and 7). I have loaded the HP eprint app to my Ipad 4 but it cannot detect the printer. Note that the HP website says that this printer is compatible with the ePrint App.
A second and possibly related issue is that I have registered with the HP eprint service website but I cannot obtain the code or email address for my printer. I cannot find any way of turning on the Web Services on the printer? (The HP website says this should be under Setup>Wireless on the printer but it is not. There are only options for turning the wireless on and off, testing the wireless and printing the network and printer wireless settings (which are all OK>PASS or just information).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

With the last update that was done to the ePrint app, some of the legacy printers lost the capability to use that app to print from. The printer would not have the option to print directly from the iPad to the printer either. That is a feature known as AirPrint. When one has the ability to use AirPrint, one has to place the device on the same network as the printer, pull up a photo, tap the action button on the iPad and then select print. The iPad will then give one an option of which printer to print from if there is more than one printer capable of of AirPrint on the network.
The printer cannot produce a code to signup and register for ePrint due to the age of the printer. Printers that have the ability to ePrint are a majority of the ones that were put into production from 2010 and later. Some Photosmarts that have the capability to use ePrint and AirPrint are the 7520,6520 and the 5520. To learn more about those printers, check out this link here.

If you follow Method One: Install the software with the product CD, it does not have you do anything on the printer.  This step is listed further down in the document and everything above it is more or less preparation for this step.
The step before this has you do a WPS option which does get performed on the printer, but this is not necessary and I highly recommend skipping this step.
It may be best if you uninsalled the printer software from the computer before performing the steps so that what you experience matches what is in the steps for your printer.
Assuming the software is uninstalled, the following steps summarizes what needs to be done.
    1.  Connect printer to a PC (make sure the PC is on your wireless network) with USB cable.
    2.  Install the software.
    3.  During the installation it will ask if you want the printer connected through USB or network.  Select network and it will add the Deskjet to the same network as the PC.
    4.  Follow the prompts and it will have you disconnect the USB cable.
Once all the steps in Method One: Install the software with CD have been completed, your printer will be connected to the wireless network without doing anything on the printer control panel.

  • My mac air does not recognize my printer connected to a network

Is usb to lightening the correct connection to see the printer

    Hello there, Appletreflie.
The following Knowledge Base article should have some practical information for you to help setup your printer:
OS X Mountain Lion: Set up a printer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11145
    Specifically:
Add a network printer to your list of printers
You can connect to printers on your local network that use Bonjour, IP, and Open Directory, as well as shared printers and printers connected to a Time Capsule or AirPort base station.
Be sure to follow any instructions from your network administrator.
If the printer isn’t connected to your network, follow the instructions that came with the printer to unpack it, install ink or toner, add paper, and connect it to your network. If you’re connecting a printer to a Time Capsule or AirPort base station’s USB port, see this help topic:Set up a printer connected to a Time Capsule or AirPort base station
Choose Apple menu > Software Update to make sure OS X has the latest information about printer software it can download from Apple.Usually you shouldn’t install software that came with the printer on your Mac. OS X downloads the latest printer software automatically.
Open a document to print, and then choose File > Print.
Open the Printer pop-up menu and choose your printer in the Nearby Printers section of the menu.
If you don’t see your printer, choose Add Printer from the Printer pop-up menu.A dialog appears listing any Bonjour, IP, shared, and Open Directory printers on your local network. It may take a minute or two for your printer to appear. If you’re asked for an administrator name and password
Select your printer when it appears in the list, and then click Add.OS X automatically uses AirPrint if your printer supports it, or it selects printer software (also called a printer driver) and downloads it from Apple if necessary.
If you don’t see your printer in the list, do one of the following:
For an IP printer, click IP in the toolbar and enter the printer’s information. For more information, see this help topic:Set up an IP printer
For a shared Windows printer, click Windows in the toolbar and enter the printer’s information. For more information, see this help topic:Connect to a printer shared by a Windows computer

Do I need Apple TV or to change some settings somewhere?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You are making some progress with setup of wireless network. Apparently there is reliability problem with the wireless connection. Perhaps you want to refer to following Apple support documents and start tweaking parameters in the router to improve the reliability. I used to have third-party routers such as Belkin and Netgear but switched to Apple Airport routers (Time Capsule then Airport Extreme for now) because of incompatibility issues whenever Apple upgrade Mac OS X. But since Apple develops Airplay protocol as alternative to Bluetooth for wireless audio/video streaming (with much better bandwidth) and must be deployed in any wireless network, there is no reason third-party routers not working for Airplay protocol.

  • How to print from different wireless connection on same network

I can print wirelessly when I am in range of the wifi to which my computer and attached printer connect. However, when I go to a different wifi connection within the same network, I cannot print. How can I my wifi connections on same network talk to each other so that I can print from second wifi site on same network?

The problem is you loaded the printer directly and now do not have it plugged in.. so delete the printer in the control panel.. then setup the printer again.. this time connect to it as network printer. The bonjour should make it available as a network resource..
Tell me if you still run into trouble doing that. You may need to load the IP of the TC manually..
Window7 has higher security level than xp.. and that can sometimes also cause issues.
Are you using SMB compliant names for the TC, wireless and printer??
Can the windows 7 computer get internet via the TC? Can you ping it?
Look up how to reduce the security level in windows to match xp.. I don't remember the details but you have to do some nifty footwork.

  • Can't Connect to My Network Printer Anymore: Brother 7065-DN

I bought my Macbook Pro in 2010 and never had a problem connecting to my home network printer until a few months ago. Ever since I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion 10.8.5 I can't see or access the network printer. My daughter, who bought her Macbook Pro at the beginning of the year, pre installed with Mountain Lion, has no issues seeing and printing to the printer. I tried reinstalling the driver from my disk and it wouldn't take. I tried downloading the Brother driver from Apple and the specific driver's and updates for my printer, nothing. When I am lucky enough to see it on the printer list, it won't print, saying that the printer cannot be located. I have tried (when it does see it, which is random and weird) using the IP address and then the driver from the list, I also tried using the post script general. I have tried adding the IP address of the printer in the printer set up, I have tried adding the MAC address, I've tried clicking it when it occasionally shows up under my work group. I tried installing it while it was connected directly to the laptop...Nothing....I've turned on printer sharing, file sharing, and anything else I can think of...I am at a loss!
The two Windows PC and the other Macbook in the house can connect via the network, no problem. I even tried to look at her settings to see what was different but I couldn't figure it out. What is really frustrating is that I am working on my degree and need to print regularly, so everyone else in the house has to stop what they are doing, open the file I sent them through e-mail, download it, and then print it. It irritates them and me!
I have a standard router n/b/g and a comcast modem. One desk top and three laptops connected to it. Internet access works fine. Printer is a Laser Jet all in one scanner/printer Brother 7065-DN. I have downloaded all the updated drivers from Apple and Brother. Someone please help!! I am going crazy and wasting a lot of time messing with this that could be better spent on my homework!! Like I said, it worked fine until the upgrade!!
