Enabling all RAM for x64?

I have a HP Touchsmart tx2 1020us with 4GB of RAM. The machine shipped with 4GB of RAM and Windows Vista x64. I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 and it shows 4.00GB installed and 3.75GB usable. I've been around the block with the 3.xGB memory barrier of 32-bit systems, so this looks awfully familiar.
I have a list of possibilites as to what could be causing the issue:
Shared Video Memory - certainly shouldn't be, as the system is advertised as having a 64MB graphics card.
Typical Windows 7 Behavior - not so. I have another machine running windows 7, properly configured for x64 and it says 4GB installed and usable
BIOS not configured for x64 OS - could be, could not be. The BIOS does not mention it at all.
Any new motherboard worth the silicon it's printed on, has a BIOS option to enable memory remapping (or it is called something similar) which will allow a x64 based OS to see and use all of the installed memory. The BIOS on this HP, however, seems to give virtually no configuration options whatsoever. It lists 4GB of memory being installed, but gives me no options to change or remap it. With that being said, I have a list of questions:
1. If there is a way to enable memory remapping, such as a special key combo in the BIOS to unlock an advanced mode, what is it?
2. Since the system was sold with a 64 bit OS installed and 4GB of RAM, why was memory remapping not enabled from the factory?
3. If no memory remapping option is available, how will HP plan to answer a false advertising lawsuit for claiming that the system supports 8GB of memory?
There may be a very simple answer, but HP's knowledgebase is strangely mute on the subject. I guess they just assume that most users won't know the difference. If somebody knows how to enable all the memory, I would certainly appreciate your response.

Edit - I believe I have found the answer. GPUz reports that the video card has 320MB of memory. 64MB + my missing 256MB = 320MB. I really don't like shared video memory, but I guess that's just what I have to deal with.

We have to following problem: We have a large collection of IND files from different sources. When creating output, we want the image profiles to be enabled. The only way to do this, it seems, is manually when opening a document with a mismatched color profile, and there choose "Enable all profiles" for placed content. Trouble is, we can't seem to script this option. Question: Is it possible to disable the warnings and "enable all profiles" for placed content after the document is openend via a script? Or is there another option to script that all placed image profiles should be enabled, before exporting a PDF?

I think you should start by modifying your *WidgetEH boss definition in your framework resources - replacing the IID_IBOOLEANCONTROLDATA it aggregates by an IID_IINTEGERCONTROLDATA - then you'll have to follow this boolean field down deep into your *WidgetEH implementation to replace it to any flavour of integer value you are used to.
Doing it that way you'll be able to store a state value from 0 to 7 - by example: that would be much closer from the behaviour you are looking for than a boolean toggle I'll guess.
Is this making sense to you?

Is there a way to force enable wmode=direct for all Flash content on all webpages ?

I need a way to force enable wmode=direct for all Flash content that's running regardless of the webpage the Flash content is runing on.
If there isn't a way to do so now, please enable this as fast as you can in the next version of Flash.
I've read somewhere that if there's no wmode setting on the page like opaque, transparent, direct or hw the flash content will run in wmode=window setting so it would be very easy to change that and force Flash to use wmode=direct instead.
This could be done by adding wmode=direct line to mms.cfg or even add Force wmode=direct to Flash Settings, easy as that.
I really don't wanna hear the arguments why force enable wmode=direct for all Flash content regardless of webpage is not indicated to do, just do it, I really need this wmode=direct feature to be always on simple as that.
I know that on some webpages some content might run behind flash content by doing so but I really don't care cause I know what sites I'm using and what Flash content I'm runing so just enable it.
Waiting for all websites to implement wmode=direct would take ages and I don't have time to waste instead I wanna enable this feature by now since I have seen what a big difference it makes by runing Flash accelerated instead of software decoding.

You will not get what you need using stamps, especially if you ever want to use dynamic XFA forms.

Digital signatures are the best approach for your needs. They can provide both nonrepudiation of document origin as well as document integrity. You just have to figure out how to implement a solution you can afford.
You agency can become its own certificate authority and issue certificates to its employees. You'd just have to find a way to implement and manage such a system.

You don't have a late 2011 MB Pro.
You have a 2010 version. Your MB doesn't support 16GB. 8GB Max.
That's what it shows on your about this MAC.
You need to return the RAM and get 8GB ( 2 X 4GB ) 1066MHz.
Your system bus is set to 1066MHz.
You're having issues because you've installed more RAM than your MB can support. It's only reading 4GB per bank which totals to 8GB and not 16GB.

First check the settings and try all of the options in the [[websites say cookies are blocked]] article.
In addition to the above, another possible cause is the file that stores cookies is corrupt, if that is the case deleting the file should fix the problem. First you need to locate your profile folder, for details of how to do that see the [[profiles]] article. Once you have opened the profile folder, close Firefox and either delete or rename cookies.sqlite, when you restart Firefox that file will be re-created.

Enabling Remote Desktop for Windows 7 as a task sequence

I have a task sequence to automate the creation of a base image of Windows 7 x64 Professional. In my base image I would like to have Remote Desktop enabled by default for all users. Is there a command or a script to do this that I can add into my task sequence to make this possible?

I have to agree except I can't understand why anyone would use anything other than the unattend.xml. You can do all that plus so much more and it's the way Microsoft provides to do it. This is my complete x64 unattend.xml version but I also have
an x86 version. This should give you some idea of it's capabilities.
Drop the unattend.xml file into a package and reference it in the Task Sequence as shown below. I dropped both my x86 and x64 version of the unattend.xml into the package. I use an OSD HTA menu on the frontend to let helpdesk pick
between x86 and x64. I cropped the picture up a bit and took out company specific info but you should get the idea from the screen captures. This is how I deploy x86 and x64 in a single task sequence. I mark every line with a condition in the task
sequence with (C) which makes it easier to find lines with conditions. I use the condition to assign x86 and x64 software among other things. The selection in the HTA pretty much triggers everything.

Font book keeps enabling ALL of my fonts - Overloading my system

When I restart my computer or just Font Book, Font Book enables ALL of my fonts. I have over 1100 fonts. It eats up all of my RAM (3GB) and the computer grinds to a slow crawl. I have deselected "automatic font activation" in preferences. I have created "collections" so I can activate and de-activate groups and manage the many fonts. I can even go through EVERY non-system font and manually deactivate them. But they will all activate at restart. I have been having this problem for years with ALL versions of Font Book from day 1. I am now on OSX Lion with Font Book 3.0. Same problem. Yet I see few posts about other s dealing with this. What's could be causing FB to open all fonts?
Is there a fix for this? Is Font Book worth the trouble? I have known people (also with large font collections) who claim it works fine for them. If not, how do I bring in new font managment software and shut down Font Book to avoid any conflicts?

Don't count on Font Book to help you at this point. With a lot of bad fonts on the system before, it's now likely that its database is hosed. When that happens, Font Book does all kinds of strange things. Like not being able to activate or deactivate fonts that are in its list.
To straighten things out, do this:
1) Go directly to the following folders, not through Font Book. Delete all fonts in the /Library/Fonts/ folder. Delete all fonts in the Fonts folder of your user account.
2 Restart the Mac and hold down the Shift key to start up in Safe Mode. This takes awhile as the OS is doing multiple checks. For your particular needs, it also clears all cache files from your user account and trashes Font Book's current database.
3) When the Safe Mode startup is done, your Mac will be at what looks like your normal desktop. Restart again normally.
4) Follow the directions at the bottom of the article ~Bee linked to in order to restore just the fonts from the Snow Leopard installation disk.

Re-enabling DVD-RAM support?

The DVD drives in MacBook and MacBook Pro (usually Panasonic/Matshita or LG, Googling around found those were the only brands shipped with MacBooks) support DVD-RAM media. However, it seems Apple decided to use "special" firmware that basically cripples the drive and disables DVD-RAM support. Well, at least write support (my MacBooks read DVD-RAM OK).
Is there any way to re-enable writing on DVD-RAM in MacBooks? Some non-offical firmware or something, anything?
I found some firmwares for old PowerBook G4 laptops that re-enables DVD-RAM support. But nothing for current MacBooks.

The DVD-RAM and UDF support in Mac OS X is good. It's been around for a long time too, since Mac OS 8.something. I've just copied over about 40 gigs of data from my DVD-RAMs I used for backup on the PC onto my MacBook (as I said, they forgot to disable reading from DVD-RAM, hoooray). It's just the hardware that's intentionally crippled. I could connect my external LG DVD drive (which supports all formats, including DVD-RAM) and use it to write files onto DVD-RAM media.
However, I don't see any reason why would I need to use external drive when internal drive in my MacBook is perfectly capable of doing it (if it wasn't for Apple that decided to flash it with their own firmware which disables the writes on DVD-RAM media).
If it was a desktop system, I probably wouldn't be complaining much. I'd just use my external LG drive. But it's laptop, and hauling external DVD drive around just because some manager decided users should not use DVD-RAM is not really an option...
If anybody from Apple is reading this, could you guys please with sugar on top re-enable DVD-RAM support in drive's firmware? It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Print to Go stopped working after install of KB2992611 on Windows 7 for x64 system

A large number of critical and importatnt Microsoft security related updates showed up on 11Nov2014 that were installed. Subsequently several failures happened after the restart (i.e. IE would freeze when started, Print to Go
stopped working - indicated that there was no connection to the Internet, the PrintToGoLog.txt had much more detail).
Other BB playbook users reported similiar problem after one of the updates KB2992611 was applied,
After KB2992611 (Security Update for Windows 7 for x64 system) was uninstalled, Print To Go functioned properly. Unfortunately, I.E still failing. Firefox is OK.

I recently updated by Q10 to the latest Rogers 10.3.1 software release, and was going through my apps to verify they were all still functional. I found that Print-to-Go was not working. As I do not frequently use the app, I do not know if the recent device software update is the cause.
After a bunch of searching around the web, I came across two possible issues:
1) SSL 2.0 setting within the Internet Options settings on my PC
2) Windows Update kb2992611
My PC is running Windows 7 64-bit Pro, with latest Print-to-Go driver and BB Link installed. The problem I encountered is that when printing from the PC the pop-up window would fail to load the page that allows you to sign in to Blackberry ID and verify the link to your device. The https://ptg.blackberry.com page would return a server error.
Enabling SSL 2.0 within the Internet Options on my PC appeared to fix this problem, as I was able to access the BBID login page. However printing documents would still fail.
I then uninstalled Windows Update kb2992611. This fixed the problem. Print-to-Go functioned as expected, and documents would appear on my device.
I then disable SSL 2.0 within the Internet Options on my PC, and there was no effect. Print-to-Go still functioned.
I then reinstalled Windows Update kb2992611 and Print-to-Go appeared to work (ie you could sign-in with BBid), but printing of documents would fail and give an error message. Uninstalling the Windows Update again fixed the problem and PTG would work fine.
So, it appears there is a conflict between Print-to-Go and Windows Update kb2992611.
Will Blackberry be updating their desktop PTG driver so that it is compatible with this Windows Update?
The Windows Update addresses a security issue, so I'm not comfortable leaving my PC with this update not installed.

Can't find Ethernet driver for x64 XP Pro

Thank you very much for the link to Intel internet driver. Now, I am looking for audio, sound and graphic drivers for x64 XP Pro OS. I had tried drivers in Lenovo website and it didn't work. All x64 drivers are made for Vista. Also, I tried Nvidia website and they didn't have required graphic driver. My T61 system hardware is Intel 2.4 GHz Duo Core 2, Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M 512MB, 2GB RAM memory. I look forward to your response and you have nice day.

P55-GD85 - not all ram available at boot / need to reboot. [Solved]

I've 4 sticks Corsair XMS3 - 2 GB @ 1600 Mhz installed on my P55-GD85 board with the XMP mode enabled.
When I boot the PC, only 2 sticks are recognized (4087MB) at the end of the process (even if the boot sequence is notifying 8173MB ram) and I need to restart the PC to obtain the 8173MB really available. Seems that during 1rst boot, not enough power is provided to awake the 4 sticks (and I've a good Seasonic 80+ 750W PSU...) and when restarting the PC a few seconds later, all memory is always available.
I tried reseating them, it not changed anything....
I've run the Windows 7 memory verificator, no problem...
I 've run MEMTEST when the all ram was available, no problem...
What do you advise? Increasing the memory voltage slightly? Disblabling "quick boot" option? Something else?

Tried reseating all my memory sticks, one after the other, in the right DIMMs (beginning with the nr 1) and rebooting each time in between...RAM was increansingly recognised...but once the PC was stopped...same thing when booting it after a while...only 4087MB available and need to reboot to have the 8183MB available.
Tried to reconnect the power pins to the MB...same, not better.
Tried to plug the PC directly to the sector without passing through the BackUPS device...not better.
Seems related to temperature of system/components...when booting in the morning, I need several reboots to have the memory fully available. If the system has been working a lil, one reboot is enough. When the system has been working for long, memory is fully available at each boot
Will now try to reseat the sticks in another order...another idea Doctor ?

K8n neo2 "decompressing bios to ram for fast booting"

it was working great for about two hours. It gave me some good benchmarks So I decided to play some farcry and during the load up of a saved game it locked up in the middle of loading. I restarted it and it hasent posted since. The two diag lights i get are two top green two bottom red and never moves from there. decompressing bios to ram for fast booting according to the manual. I then took one ram stick out, stuck diffrent ram in there, reseting the bios, diffrent video cards.
i figured it was the motherboard and i got my rma back today same thing. so is it the cpu then or another mobo?

Sound like ram is struggling (decompress to ram fails).
Test with www.memtest86.com
Make sure that the corsair C2 is set with cas 2.5 on AMD64 and vdimm voltage to 2.75v in bios.
Auto spd and auto on voltage won't set it straight for theese modules , set all values manually in bios and dont enable agressive settings .
