Enabling approval in collaboration rooms

Hi All,
I want to enable approval workflow for documents created inside a collaboration room.
If I go to documents and links in the room ->folder details, I do not find the approval option. Subscription option is there. But Approval is not there.
Can someone let me know what I must do to get this option?

once if u can able to find the folder then u can enable approval process to the room documents using details -

We have a collaboration room and have approval process enabled in the folders. Once the document is approved we would like to move to a folder called archived. If we do that we lose the approval process and it appears you need to start again. We would like to be able to move the document to the archive folder and retain the approval process for audit purposed. I have approval and versioning turned on. Does anyone know how to do that or if it can be done?

Approval-process for publishing documents in Collaboration-Room

Hi @ all,
is it possible to use a approval-process for publishing documents form the private document store of a collaboration room to the public one? I it is, how I have to do it, I have no idea?!?
Or is there a way to give specific users the right to publish a document.

Kai -
I'm not sure about publishing from private to public. However, you can set-up folders in the Collaboration rooms to enable State Management. To do this, you'll need to use a system principal to alter the permissions on the specific Collaboration room document folder.

Approval Process in Collaboration Room

Hi Everyone,
I have created collaboration room using room creation iView under Public Scope.I have assigned three users for this room are Manager, Employee1, Employee2.
Here, Manager is approver. If Employee1 uploads or creates a file in the room, Manager should approve this file. After getting the approval, Employee2 can view that file. If is it possible ?
If Possible means, pls give me some idea about that.

Creation of Collaboration Room from the backend.

Hi,
I need to create the collaboration room from the backend. When I tried to do so, its showing the error "Error in RFC Connection". I checked the RFC connection, its working fine.
Do i need to set any configuration properties either in portal or R/3 to enable the creation of collaboration room from the backend.

Webex Sending Two emails when launched from collaboration room

Hello,
I have a collaboration room set up to use Webex as an online tool. When I click the START button it actually asks me Twice about whether or not I want to launch webex and then it sends me TWO emails: one in ENGLISH and the second in GERMAN.
Here is the contents of the GERMAN email:

Does any one have any ideas on what I need to do for either issue?

This is really a **** to do an trial and error method because it consumes lot of time.
so here is something for u
A step is assigned to multiple users and has a minimum threshold of approvals assigned (that is, assignees are user 1, user 2, and user 3, and two of the three are required to approve before this step can be completed). In this case,
u25CF two of the three users must approve before the step is considered approved
u25CF if two of the three users reject it, the step is rejected, and consequently will either return the task to the last Action Item assignees or, if no previous Action Item exists, will conclude the task, with the history reflecting the rejection.
in my trial i had only two user connected to a group so sometimes second step is recieved by user 1 or user 2 . if one of them approves then document is getting approved and goes to next step
it is same in the case of rejection too.
i hope now everything would be clear

Collaboration Room

I am trying to create a room template which will have a quick poll iview and an poll administration ivew. I am using the standard iview provided under com.sap.ip.collaboration. In both the iviews the field "Campagin to be used" is "room". when i create a room out of this template the polls work fine. But when i create another room with the same template the earlier poll is displayed. This is happening because i have set the mapping for campagin. Can any one tell me what are the mapping we are supposed to do when we enable a poll in room.

Basic questions on Collaboration Rooms,TREX and Federated portal

Hi All,
I have some basic doubts related to above topics.
1.In a particular collaboration room,Room admin role check box is disabled(greyed out),that means we can not add anybody as admin.other room roles like member and member admin are ok.How can I again make it enabled again?
2.In room administration under content admin->collaboration content->I can filter out the rooms available ,by giving appropriate filter search.But TREX is not installed with portal.Does this search uses TREX?
3.What is basic definition of federated portal?Is it something to do with the remote interaction of one portal with other?that means one portal iviews and other objects can be accessed through another portal.Is it True?

1. This should only be the case if the user that looks at the room roles is not an administrator in the room. An administrator should be able to givte this role to other users

Enabling Discussion in a Room

Hi,
How to add Room part to a room, to enable a discussion in the room.
i read in a document to add room part i have to navigate to Collaboration ->Rooms->Room Directory->MyRoom
->Admin:Room->Room Parts, but inside room directory i cannot see MyRoom ->Admin:Room->Room Parts. Should assign any role for this.

In order to add a room part to a room, you must have access to the Room Maintenance page inside the room. Usually this page is accesible to the Admin role of your room. To see if you have access to that page, enter the room you created, you should have an entry on the Detailed Navigation called Room Maintenance. If you don't, you will have to find out who is the admin of the room.
Inside the room maintenance page, you can navigate to the tab "Room Parts" and add a part there.

click on the context menu of the collaboration room > send room link and you should receive the link in your inbox if your email is configured in Portal..

Problem when creating a collaboration room

After following the basic configuration steps for collaboration, we do not see the error:
com.sap.netweaver.coll.room.api.util.RoomResourceException: Cannot get resource /room_extensions/cm_stores/TEMPLATES/MeetingRoom/Links: Cannot get resource /room_extensions/cm_stores/TEMPLATES/MeetingRoom/Links
but this error is still there and the room creation wizard failed again:
Property type is not multi-valued com.sapportals.wcm.repository.ResourceException: Property type is not multi-valued
any help is much appreciated...

Accessing Collaboration Room with Room Link (URL) doesn't work

hi all
i'm trying to access a collaboration room by room link (url) but it doesn't work. the room url is: https://www.sportal.ch:443/irj/index.html?NavigationTarget=CollaborationConnector://portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/b0ce78ec-3f30-2910-2184-b171271d4d95/workset&NavTargetAsRoot=true
i have checked the roombackend-properties => they are ok
i have checked the roles and permissions => they are ok
what me surprises: when i open a new browser window and type in the mentioned url, our portal-start-page is displayed but in the content area there is no content displaied. i expected, that when i type in the url, then the authentification-dialogue would appear, but it does not.... (does this url only work if i am already logged in the portal??)
if you have any ideas, how the problem could be solved, please let me know!

thank you for the input. i have now solved the problem, perhaps my solution fits for you too. here it is:
when i use the function "send room-link" the url looks like this:
https://www.sportal.ch:443/irj/index.html?NavigationTarget=CollaborationConnector://portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/9020275c-8348-2810-28a6-a8c1ae60e192/workset&NavTargetAsRoot=true
with this url i can not access the collaboration room.
but when i change the url like this:
https://www.sportal.ch/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/9020275c-8348-2810-28a6-a8c1ae60e192/workset&NavTargetAsRoot=true
now i can access the room (with authentification).
OK, for me the main problem is solved, but can someone perhaps tell me whats the difference between:
NavigationTarget=CollaborationConnector
and
NavigationTarget=ROLES

How to get the list of collaboration rooms for a particular user??

Hello Experts,
I have a requirement to get the list of all the collaboration rooms for a given user. I have started developing the Web Dynpro application by reusing necessary jars required to the web dynpro application.
on some action I am trying to execute the below code:
IRooms roomsAPI = (IRooms) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(IRooms.PORTAL_SERVICE_ID);
which I have got from help.sap.com
But, there's some exception being raised and not able to retrieve the list of rooms.
Could somebody tell me what am I doing wrong.

Collaboration Rooms on Federated Portal

Hi:
We have configured collaboration Rooms in our producer portal. We want to show them on consumer portal using a remote role created on producer.
When we assign the remote role on the consumer , the rooms are not shown completely.
Is there a limitation on using remote roles with collaboration rooms?

Collaboration Room iViews give error -- Database related errors -- Pls Help

We are on EP 6.0 SP 17 (Netweaver 2004).
KMC component was installed separately (Deployed manually).
We are trying to create simple Collaboration Rooms and we are facing some issues with the same.
I am following the documentation on SAP Help for the Room Creation:

We are able to create rooms based on pre-defined templates and we are also able to add members to rooms, send/receive the invitation emails. I am able to work with Instant Messaging also.
But the problem is that some of the iViews related to Collaboration Rooms are giving errors.
1. Discussion iView gives an error saying You do not have access permission (even the user has all the necessary roles assigned).
Log for this error is as follows:

Are there any database related configurations required for making the Collaboration Room Discussion functionality work properly?
Are there any KM related configurations necessary other than those mentioned in the document I am referring to?

do u use Collaboration first time?
Yes, we just started using Collaboration and this is our first requirement.
Which roles do u have?
I have all the required roles (Super Admin, Content Management, Collaboration, Collaboration Room Creation).
I know that these features are available in NW04 SP 17 without any limitations. I have reviewed SAP Notes 707730, 711093, 709354 and 946470 also.
This problem is with only a few Collaboration iViews.
I am able to create Rooms, Enter Rooms, Receive Invitation e-mails without any problem.
Any suggestions about any possible missing configurations ?
