Enabling Hyper-V creating problem in booting Windows!!

I'm using HP Pavilion 15-N-201TX Notebook, configuration are as follows -
Windows 8.1 Embedded Industry Pro 64-bit
RAM - 4GB
Intel Core i5 -4200U CPU
BIOS mode - UEFI, Version F.66
Every time I enable the Hyper-V and restart the computer, it stuck on the booting screen and after sometime, it redirects me to diagnose the PC and start the "StartUp Repair".
I'm a Windows Phone developer, and for that I have installed all the required components of Visual Studio including emulators.
I have enabled the Virtualization Technology from BIOS.
The moment I enable the Hyper-V and restarts, the problem occurs...
Any Solution?

Have you got any solution to that? I am also facing similar kind of issue. In my case if I disable Virtualization from BIOS setting,then system is working else it is behaving same as yours.hence I am not able to run the emulator.

on a lenovo s430, i installed a new msata ssd and an new ssd.
i installed windows 8 on the msata ssd.
when i press f12, i see 2 time windows boot manager, but none alloe me to boot.

When I replaced the HDD that was inside my ThinkPad S230u with a SSD, I was able to call Lenovo support and order the factory recovery media. I used that to perform a clean install of Windows to the new SSD.

Problem dual booting Windows 8 and windows 7 G480

I bought new laptop g480 and it comes with windows 8 single language and I want to dual boot it with windows 7 Ultimate. So I create one partition 50 Gig using Minitool Partition Wizard, after that I boot into USB device ( I've bootable Windows 7 USB and already disable secure boot in BIOS). The process went fine until it ask me where to install the windows, so I choose the partition 50 Gig I created before but I get this message "Windows cannot be installed to this disk of the GPT partition style". Help me guys how to solve this problem, I've searched solution for this but non of them seems working for me. Step by step will be good for me. I hope to get quick reply for this because I've this problem since 2 days ago and never get solution .

I tried your solution before I posted the message here but it didn't work but then I give it try again and I manage to install the Windows 7 ultimate. Now my pc dual boot with windows 7 and windows 8 (windows 8 is the main OS).
p.s. This is important guys, if u want to make windows 7 bootable USB by following the tutorial on youtube it wont work if you pc/laptops is pure GPT (UEFI) because most of them using MBR to make the tutorial thats why it look easy and works for them, it's almost same but there's "add-on" with GPT mode. You have to make the windows 7 bootable USB in GPT (UEFI) mode or it wont let you install. I couldn't find tutorial for this GPT mode on youtube.
All I do is search my old DVD-RW and erase it and I follow the tutorial here, same what @CharlyAR told me

[Solved] Problem to boot Windows XP since partitions as been resized

Hello,
I have a problem with my computer since I resized partitions, I was needed more space for windows, so the partition as been extended and the Archlinux one reduced. Partition assignation still the same,
sda1 /boot
sda2 swap
sda3 /
sda4 Windows
Arch still working fine and the Windows partition is accessible from Arch, and files still in place. But my Windows refuse to boot it just stop after the grub2 command line with just a blinking cursor.
Any idea to solve the issue ??

Windows does not play nicely with others. If you use Microsoft tools to "fix" the install, it will likely overwrite the mbr causing grub to do away. fdisk -mbr will certainly do that. Should that occur, you will need to reinstall grub on the MBR in order to get back to Linux.
As others have pointed out, resizing the Windows partition can cause it to go brain-dead as it makes assumptions about where things are on the disk. I believe, and have no proof, that Microsoft does this in part to make it difficult to move their OS to "unauthorized" new hardware. As far as Windows is concerned, the new partition size is an indication it is not on the same hardware and, therefore, you must be trying to violate their copyright.
Have you considered just running windows in a virtual machine and being done with it?

Lenovo G510, i5 - Problems with booting Windows 8.1 from media disk

Hello,
I know that some of you got into this little trouble too, so please help me out.
Yesterday I got a brand new Lenovo G510, i5, with free dos and tried to install the Windows 8.1 from a media disk.
The problem is that it won't boot from CD.
I got in Bios using the Novo button, changed the boot mode from legagcy support to UEFI and nothing happend.
I tried the boot mode to legacy; boot priority to dvd and still won't do it.
It is still trying to boot from the network...is this posible?
How can I get it to boot from CD/DVD?
Some help, tips, indications would be great!

Boot again inside BIOS
Try setting these
Under Exit TAB
OS Optimization or OS Optimized Should be set as Disabled or Other OS
Under Boot Tab / Start up Tab
Boot Mode Should be set to Legacy
Boot Priority Should be set to Legacy First
UEFI Boot should be set to Disabled
Quick Boot Should be Disabled
Secure boot Should be Disabled
Now press F10 to save everything and Exit
Computer will Restart now inster your CD / DVD Disc in and Turn Off the Computer.
Now on OFF state
Turn it back on and Start tapping F12
This will give you a boot selection with your DVD / CD as an option to boot from.

Keyboard USB problems on booting windows xp

I have a problem with a keyboard and mouse logitech as USB. If I activate BIOS's option USB KB/Storage Support, windows xp does not boot and if I deactivate the option, the keyboard does not work until does not come to the screen of logon. Someone knows since I can solve it?, happens to me so much in a mobo MSI Neo4 Platinum and in a MSI Neo2 FIS2R. Thank you in advance.

Make sure you are plugging into a rear port unless you have carefully checked the front ports wiring harness. If pin 9 is still on the front port harness then you have a USB problem. Also make sure you are not using the KB through a hub as some hubs won't work. Use the latest bios as it has legacy device support as well and it must be turned on in Bios in order to work well with most KB's.

Adobe Application Manager creating problems: Subscriber, running windows vista

I want to install the new creative suite (v6). went to download site for apps, and tried installing the application manager. It just stalled towards the end. Had to force quit. Restarted my computer, clicked on the exe file for application manager, nothing happened. Went back to download page and tried downloading PS CS6, and i kept getting errors that the Adobe App Manager has stopped working. What do I need to do?
Specs of my machine: Windows Vista with latest update.

Note that Vista doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to use Creative Cloud here

It might still be possible to use on Vista but it hasn't really been tested so you have limited options if you run into difficulties.

How to best partition the HDD for dual boot: Windows 8 & Linux

I'm a newbie in Windows 8, linux, Partition....
I would like to use my new laptop with windows 8 pre-installed to the following:
Create a Dual Boot Windows 8 / Ubuntu
Create on my C drive (unique drive on my laptop):
*a partition for the system
*one for Windows 8
*one for Data and
*last one for Ubuntu OS
My aim is :
-to install VmWare on Windows 8 and run Checkpoint Splat with virtual machines to perform CCSA labs.
to install GNS3 on Ubuntu for CCNP labs but with GNS3 accessing files in the Data partition
I have a Toshiba Satellite with 750Gb and 8 Go RAM.
According to you what's the best size for my partitions?
Is there a better way to partition my C drive regarding my aim?

Isn't it too much 200G for Windows as i will on ly install VMWARE Workstation 9 for lab purposes and possibly a few softwares.
VMWARE installed on Windows will require 2 GB + 1 GB per host (i will use approximatively 15 hosts).
Checkpoint products will be installed on VMWARE that is installed in Windows :
- disk space needed for 3 Checkpoint gateways: 3*37 GB
- disk space needed for 2 Checkpoint gateways management servers: 2*10 GB
On Linux I'll install GNS3 with 10 GB disk space required and a few softwares.
I've got a Toshiba stellite computer with Windows 8 pre-installed.
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M CPU @2.5 Ghz
RAM: 8 Go
64 bits OS, processor x64

Can u confirm that in Disk o, partitions with 450 Mo, 260 Mo and 9.48 Go are for recovery system?
I am planning to let the recovery partition as it is and divide the TI30985500A (C) partition (688 Gb) into:
- 200 Gb windows partition
-100 Gb Linux partition
-388 Gb data partition
What do you think about this partionning regarding the informations i've provided above?

recovery media provided by Toshiba to create a dual boot Windows 7/Windows XP rather than reverting to XP?

You can create dual boot but not using two recovery images. Recovery image can be used for first OS installation. You cannot define on which partition the recovery image will be installed. It will always be installed on first partition.
I recommend you to do follow:
-at first install WXP using original Toshiba recovery disc
-Windows 7 install using Microsoft installation disc

While I do not have any experience with Virtualization, I do recommend taking a look at this resource on How to Enable and Use Client Hyper-V, as well as Run virtual machines on Windows 8.1 with Client Hyper‑V. I am not certain if this processor has hardware virtualization support, it appears that Windows 8.1 pro and enterprise may have built in capabilities.
If you require further assistance on this, you might have to contact Microsoft on the topic.

Freeze during boot after enabling Hyper-V feature in Windows 8

Good day.
I'm using AMD FX 8320 with 990FXA-GD65. After enabling hyper-v my pc freezing during boot. Google told me that it might be issue with USB 3.0 controller, so i disabled it in bios, but result still the same.
Can you please tell me where should i look at?

Please try to boot into WinRE and run the Startup Repair option.
Generally speaking, when you add feature like Hyper-V, system would take a long time to get this feature configured. if your computer still stay updates configuration steps, you can use Windows 8.1 installation image to repair system. In system repair mode,
you can access into Command Prompt mode, and check CBS.log under C:\Windows\logs\CBS.
This log file would record Windows installation process, we may find the problem of Hyper-V installation.

Cannot enable hyper-v in windows 8.1(EFI from bootcamp)

I wonder whether anybody has the same issue as me.
Use boot camp assistant to follow the instruction to install windows 8.1 and failed at last step said windows cannot write into boot configuration data something
Find one remediation solution to delete the partition created by boot camp and create it from disk utitlity. everything went smooth and get windows 8.1 installed(Bios), can even enable the hyper-v without any issue
Find another thread talking about EFI boot. So try it with the way(need use gdisk to do some patching and finally need recreate bcd record). windows 8.1 installed without any issue, not sure whether it is EFI boot. But I cannot enable hyper v anymore. after tick the option in windows features and it restart twice and nothing happen. The hyper-v option still remain in windows feature.
Anybody has the similar issue and provide your valuable advice? Thanks a lot.
BTW, the hardware is rMBP 15", i7 2.3GHZ, 16G RAM and 512G SSD

Encountered the same problem on my 27" iMac Mid-2010 (CPU i5-2500s)
I tried for hours/days and could not enable Hyper-V.
If i enabled hyper-v, windows would boot to black screen and could not be repaired without disabling hyper-v.
Found the problem. installing bootcamp from USB with always use latest EFI boot and hyper-v doesnt like it - at least on my old iMac.
Installing windows with old bootcamp style - BIOS emulation (or whatever apple call it) works OK.
non-EFI (or old bootcamp) is when you get 1-2 second of cursor flash in the top left before windows boots.
Unfortunately, i had removed my super drive DVD from iMac... so i could only install bootcamp from USB and this requires EFI boot only.
To remedy this, i used this process which was very,very time consuming, costs $ for winclone and not for beginners

However, i can confirm i can now happily run hyper-v with Windows 8.1. great performance. It boots in old non-EFI mode which doesnt seem to have any downside? except the 1-2 cursor flash and i had to manually install latest graphics drivers from ATI as bootcamp drivers we buggy.

New Windows server 2003 Hyper-V guest fails to boot

I'm currently doing some virtualization experiments on my new server hardware. The host hardware is:
IBM x3650 M4
x2 Xeon E5-2609
32GB RAM
x2 480 GB SSDs
Server OS: Windows server 2012
I'd like to test some legacy app virtualization. I've configured a VM and have installed Windows server 2003. The install is done via DVD. The issue at hand is that after the initial installation, the server fails to boot. The VM goes into a reboot loop

If its relevant, the host is not yet activated license wise. I downloaded the demo version so I could test my idea before making a purchase to go ahead with full implementation.
As it stands right now I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this. Many searches on google have not turned up any helpful info. Does anyone have any ideas?

First , please refer to the supported guest OS of windows 2012 hyper-v :

2003/R2 should be with sp2 and max 2 virtual processors .
"'LegacyTS' was reset because an unrecoverable error occurred on a virtual processor that caused a triple fault."
If the issue is not due to the above items , you can try to check the "CPU compatibility " in that VM settings for troubleshooting:
