Enabling javaascript in dreamweaver?

i click to open an index.html in dreamweaver & get the
message, in design view that i must enable javascript to view it.
how do i do this? it is NOT a preview in browser issue.
thanks!!!!!

What you are seeing is the contents of a <noscript>
tag, which will appear
in DW's design view. Ignore it. It's a page element that will
only appear
when the page is BROWSED with javascript disabled, even
though you see it in
design view. If it disturbs you, then turn off the display of
<noscript>
content in DW.

  • Enable tags on Dreamweaver cc 2014

    Hi
How can i enable these tags on Dreamweaver cc 2014 as i have simple lines at the moment and those tags are helping a lot?
    Thanks

I'm afraid not.  You'll need to finish building your CSS Layout and save your document as a Template.
Add Editable Regions for things that will change from page to page.
    Save & Close Template.dwt.
File > New Page from Template.
    Hit Create button.
    Save.
This new child page should contain markers for each Editable Region you defined in step #1.

  • How to enable databases on dreamweaver cc on mac

when I'm trying to find the features that were available in last version such as databases and servers

You can install the Server Behaviour add-on from: https://creative.adobe.com/addons/products/1315#.VT9ZCyHBwXA

  • Not sure how to enable Contribute compatability in Dreamweaver

I'm creating a site in DW CS4 for a client to edit in Contribute. I've enabled Contribute in Dreamweaver, but it ads an ASP extension to the dwt file name. Is this normal? Do I have to have Contribute installed on the same computer as Dreamweaver in order for this to work? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, I'm having a very difficult time finding answers to these questions.

Contribute should not add any extension to the .dwt files. Rather when you create a connection to the site in Contribute, the templates will be downloaded and users can create the webpages using these templates.
Contribute is not required on the same machine.
Clients can install Contribute in there machines and connect to the site using any of the protocol supported like FTP/SFTP/Webdav and update the content.
    Hope it helps,
    Manoj

  • Can´t open Dreamweaver CS6 on Mountain Lion

    Hello together,
last month i bought the creative suit 6 design & web premium for students. after the installation i can´t open dreamweaver. it isn´t possible to open power-pc apps.
with google i can´t find a solution... i hope very much that you can help and tell me what i can do to start scripting with dreamweaver on my iMac with os x 10.8.
now i tried to install the testversion of dreamweaver on another older imac (2,9 GHz Inter Core 2 Duo) with the same os x and it runs. is it possible, that it don´t run on last version of iMac (2,9 GHz Intel Core i5)?
    thanks a lot,
    fabian

It seems that some versions of Mac OS X don't have Tahoma and Verdana fonts enabled, which prevents Dreamweaver CC from launching correctly. See http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshoot-crash-dreamweaver-cc.html for details of what you need to do.

  • Dreamweaver CC = useless, crashes, can't solve.  How can I revert back to CS6?

My question regarding the repeated crashes of Dreamweaver CC are unanswered.  If I manage to get the program to open, it crashes when I try to edit.
I must complete a project.  Please advise how to revert back to Dreamweaver CS6.  I see only options to "buy" this product.

OK. Let's make sure you've done all of the "standard" troubleshooting...
    1. Clear the program cache. To do this, you need to turn on your system's hidden files, or you won't be able to get to the ones you need to get to. DW has 2 Configuration folders, the one you can get to by using your OS search function will not be the correct one. Here are the instructions for getting to the correct configuration folder: Deleting a corrupted cache file to clear the cache.
Here are the instructions to enable hidden files on a Mac: MikeSel - Downloads, How-To's, News, Reviews & Rumours
    2. If Clearing the cache doesn't help, restoring preferences will typically do the trick. Again, you need to have hidden folders enabled: Restore preferences | Dreamweaver CS4, CS5, CS5.5, CS6
    3. If neither of those work, try creating a new admin level user account on your Mac and see if DW functions under that. Sometimes slight corruptions of Mac user accounts can cause the program to fail utterly: How to Add Administrator Accounts to Your Mac (OS X)
    4. If none of the above work, you can try the "nuke it from orbit" option of using the Cleaner Tool/reinstall method: Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
If none of that works, and/or you want to just install DWCS6 again, you can do that from your disks or by downloading from here and using your older activation info: Download and Installation Help
If you had DWCS6 Cloud, you should be able to get it back by following these instructions for Download Previous Versions: Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps

  • Formatting of DW CS5 does not match live browsers

I'm currently using Dreamweaver with CS5's new integration with Drupal.  I have a website formatted and displaying in live view, but the formatting in live view doesn't match the formatting shown in a live browser.   When I preview the site in Browserlab, it reflects the formatting I see in Dreamweaver, NOT the actual formatting shown in live browsers.
Example:  I display the site in a local copy of Firefox 3.6.  That formatting differs from that shown in Dreamweaver AND the Browserlab version of Firefox 3.6.  I thought the whole purpose of Browserlab was to give developers an accurate rendering of a website as it would appear in different browsers?  But if the formatting can differ, then Browserlab is useless as a test device.
I wondered if some of the problem might be because of formatting that I had disabled in Dreamweaver while I was experimenting, but I can find no way to ensure that all disabled formatting has been re-enabled.  Does Dreamweaver remember disabled formatting from session to session?  Is there a way to hunt down (or clear) disabled formatting?
I know there is a context menu to "enable all disabled in selected rule" but what about disabled rules that I can't find?
    Very confusing.....

Have you considered, that actually the problem may be with your Drupal? Sounds like the classic "it's inserting paragraphs instead of soft breaks" and "it's sanitizing strings", both of which may affect placment of elemnts and thus how they render.

  • Code View Wordwrap Bug

In code view window, with wordwrap, dreamweaver hides code characters on the right edge of window.
It only hides 3-4 last character of the largest line.
Is it a bug? Does anyone notice it?

I have also faced this issue where if code's line is large and WordWrap is enabled, then it Dreamweaver CS6 actually wrapped it but hides 3 to 4 characters which is not select able or even view able. See the attached screenshot, you will see Dreamweaver CS6 hides some characters of my line which is definitely something wrong with the DreamWeaver.
Can anybody found the way to avoid it..??..I cant allow the WordWrap to be disabled and scroll it with that pathetic horizontal scroll.

  • Enable Related Files Setting on Dreamweaver CC reset on restart.

    Hello,
I am running Dreamweaver CC on OS X Mountain Lion and everytime I try to set Enable Related Files to false and Dreamweaver restarts, the setting is checked on again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled DW, I've fixed my disk permissions, I have deleted all Preferences and even Opened up the Adobe Dreamweaver CC Prefs file in my ~/Library/Preferences folder and tried to manually set line 236 to:
    show related docs=FALSE
and on restart I see the value get reset to TRUE.
This is annoying as I hate this feature as it makes opening a file go slower than necessary. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is definitely a bug. Thanks for noticing it and pointing it out. You shouldn't have to open up the Preferences file and edit anything - that in itself is a bug, forget it resetting back to 'TRUE' on restart.
Please file a bug report here: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish
In the meantime, I'll also forward this to the concerned Engineering/ Product team.

  • Does Dreamweaver enable us to change a link's destination from throughout an ENTIRE cluster ofPages?

I have a link to an external site located throughout an entire cluster of pages within my website.   Is there a Dreamweaver CS5 command that would enable me to modify that link as it appears throughout the entire cluster of pages, simultaneously?    That sure would save me considerable time if it can be done without my having to make the change manually and individually, on a page-by-page basis.   Maybe something such as this command exists, perhaps?
"Change all occurrences of the following address from ___  to ____ throughout the entire site"
    Any suggestions, please?

Dreamweaver allows for three different methods of doing this.
As suggested, one may use server-side code to call a text page that you just change in one place.
Also, as suggested, one may use Dreamweaver's Find and Replace tool to replace all instances of a particular link. If you are looking to do this in source code, you have to be very careful about how you specify what to search for and exactly what you wish the replacement code to be.
Last, I have started using templates for stuff that has reoccurring information throughout a website. Things like navigation, footers, headers and so on are very useful for automating a change in reoccurring content. Where you have a page link that changes in navigation, if you have a template that handles that in all pages, you change it once and Dreamweaver will ask you if you want to update all files based on that template. Answer "Yes," and all page changes will be made.
Pages may be linked to only one template and one should never nest templates.
So, to fully answer your question, yes. There are three methods at your disposal.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 enable synchronization

I have recently installed Dreamweaver CS3 and created a site. For this site, I wish to enable synchronization. However, when I go to the the Site Definition window (Click on "Site" from the menu, then "Manage Sites," then select my site and click "Edit," then click the "Advanced" tab, then choose "Remote Info" from the options on the left), the option for "Manage synchronization information" is grayed out. As a result, the "Synchronize" button (the two arrows running in a circle) in the "Files" section is grayed out, as is "Synchronize sitewide" under the "Site" menu.
How do I fix this to enable synchronization?

How is your remote server currently set up?
I could pull out the old iMac and set something up similarly to test it in my CS3 and see if it was a version specific issue. It could also be that you have something wrong in your remote server settings that would make synchronization of files impossible.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 Slow to Open File... Enable Related Files

    Hello,
I have a page that uses the Fancybox script and it takes Dreamweaver 50 seconds to open this page.
This script requires jQuery, so in the head of my page I have this:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script>
If I comment that line out, the page opens immediately. Also, if I disable "Enable Related Files", the page opens immediately... neither option is a good one of course.
It's my guess that dreamweaver is retrieving and parsing the remote jQuery file which is what is slowing things down. How to I stop dreamweaver from going after remote files???
I was hoping setting "Discover Dynacially-Related Files" to "Disabled" would do the trick, but trying that has led me to another problem that I posted in a different topic which is that Dreamweaver won't save the selection for "Discover Dynamically-Related Files". That option always returns to "Manually".
Any ideas how to stop dreamweaver from retrieving remote files?
    Thanks!
    Peter

Im on a mac with CS5 and I have started getting an issue with one of my sites where it is slow to open the files. I tried following the steps in the article you attached here but I can not find that preference file at  /Users/Your User Name/Library/Preferences. In fact, I don't have a library under /users/my name.
I can open files fine on a different site, but for some reason just this one is giving me trouble.

  • How do I enable syntax highlighting for jspf files on Dreamweaver CS6 on Windows?

I followed the instructions (which I modified for CS6) in this posting: http://blog.metameister.com/blog/2011/04/08/open-new-file-types-and-add-syntax-highlightin g-in-dreamweaver-cs5-on-window…
but it did not work for CS6.
How do I enable syntax highlighting for jspf files on Dreamweaver CS6 on Windows 7?
    cheers
    Marvin in Edmonton

Ok, I figured it out after hunting for a few hours.
Step 1. Add the File Type
    In Dreamweaver’s toolbar:
    Select Edit > Preferences;
under File Types / Editors, add .jspf to the line “Open in Code View:”.
    Step 2. Extensions.txt
Add file type .jspf to the Extensions.txt files. There are two of these files:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS6\en_US\Configuration
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\configuration
    Step 3. MMDocumentTypes.xml
Add jspf to the MMDocumentTypes.xml files. Open this file in Notepad or Text Editor. Do not modify the Dreamweaver configuration files within Dreamweaver.
There are three MMDocumentTypes.xml files to be modified:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\configuration\DocumentTypes
    C:\Users\mhaagsma\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS6\en_US\Configuration
    C:\Users\mhaagsma\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS6\en_US\Configuration\DocumentTypes\
    Step 4. Restart Dreamweaver
Hopefully the file type will now be recognized and appear with syntax highlighting.

  • Dreamweaver cannot make a connection to server when enabling Contribute compatiblity

Dreamweaver, inexplicably, cannot enable the Contribute compatibility. I can connect to the site in DW just fine, just cannot connect when enabling contribute compatibility.

I have the same issue here since today!!  Both in Dreamweaver CC and CC 2014.ugh, also
Strange enough, also Filezilla gave problems, until I switched to TLS there.ave Norton Internet Security
Could it be that you also have Norton Internet Security, and that Norton did an update today...?  I wonder.
    Drives me crazy....

  • How to enable syntax highlighting for jspf files on Dreamweaver CS5.5 on Mac

I ran into an issue where I couldn't get the color coding (color coding style) for java server pages fragments (.jspf) files to show syntax highliting.
I followed the adobe instructions on Changing and adding file extensions recognized by Dreamweaver without any luck.
Here is the solution that worked for me:
    On a Mac:
    1. Edit the /Users/YOUR USER/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/DocumentTypes/MMDocumetTypes.xml
Note: the Adobe instructions tell you to edit /Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5/Configuration/DocumentTypes/MMDocumetTypes.xml (Editing this file didn't do anything for me, so you need to change the file above instead)
    Find,
    <documenttype id="JSP" servermodel="JSP" internaltype="Dynamic" winfileextension="jsp,jst" macfileextension="jsp,jst" file="Default.jsp" writebyteordermark="false" mimetype="text/html">
    Replace with,
    <documenttype id="JSP" servermodel="JSP" internaltype="Dynamic" winfileextension="jsp,jst,jspf" macfileextension="jsp,jst,jspf" file="Default.jsp" writebyteordermark="false" mimetype="text/html">
    2. Edit the /Users/YOUR USER/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/Extensions.txt
In the All: section on top add the jspf extention right after jsp in my example it looked like this
    HTM,HTML,SHTM,SHTML,HTA,HTC,XHTML,STM,SSI,JS,JSON,AS,ASC,ASR,XML,XSL,XSD,DTD,XSLT,RSS,RDF, LBI,DWT,ASP,ASA,ASPX,ASCX,ASMX,CONFIG,CS,CSS,CFM,CFML,CFC,TLD,TXT,PHP,PHP3,PHP4,PHP5,PHP-D IST,PHTML,JSP,WML,TPL,LASSO,JSF,VB,VBS,VTM,VTML,INC,SQL,JAVA,EDML,MASTER,INFO,INSTALL,THEME,CONFIG,MODU LE,PROFILE,ENGINE,SVG:All
and I added the jspf and it looks like this now,
    HTM,HTML,SHTM,SHTML,HTA,HTC,XHTML,STM,SSI,JS,JSON,AS,ASC,ASR,XML,XSL,XSD,DTD,XSLT,RSS,RDF, LBI,DWT,ASP,ASA,ASPX,ASCX,ASMX,CONFIG,CS,CSS,CFM,CFML,CFC,TLD,TXT,PHP,PHP3,PHP4,PHP5,PHP-D IST,PHTML,JSP,JSPF,WML,TPL,LASSO,JSF,VB,VBS,VTM,VTML,INC,SQL,JAVA,EDML,MASTER,INFO,INSTALL,THEME,CONFIG,MODU LE,PROFILE,ENGINE,SVG:All
That's it, Quit Dreamweaver and open it up again. Open the .jspf file and see the color coding (syntax highlighting)
Hope this helps you and seves you time figuring it out. If this helped, do a good thing, next time you figure something out, tell others about it to save their time too, like I did. Enjoy.

I don't seem to have a user Library folder, my only Library folder is on the same level as my Users folder.
From Locating your personal configuration folder in the Dreamweaver FAQ:
In Mac OS X (Lion and Mountain Lion), open Finder and press Shift-Cmd-Go. Type ~/Library/Application Support in the dialog box, and click Go. You should then be able to find the configuration folder.
