Enabling layer object outlining on object like CS5?

Is there a way to enable layer selection by locking the object? Example, in CS5.5 when you selected on an object (say a text box inside a circle) it would automatically select that layer so you an move it. IN CS6 you have to select the layer from the layer menu, then move it. Any fix to this? I have been searching, and experimenting, but no luck.

Do you have Auto-Select enabled from the Move Tool options bar?

How to transform a layer object and a path at the same time?

Hi all,
I know I am going to kick myself when you tell me the answer to this!
I would really like to know if there is any way I can manage to to transform both a layer object and a path at the same time....or if there is any workaround to achieve this.
In a nutshell, say for example I spend a VERY long time creating an intricate path around a very detailed object, and then at the very end notice just how crooked and out of perspective it is, and would like to straighten it.
Of course I could transform and correct the object, and then carefully transform the path - but it just won't be exact, and I will have to spend a long time adjusting the path and making SURE it is perfect.
Isn't there any way I could get to transform them together?
Usually of course I do all the correction to straighten and correct perspective beforehand, but in some instances after I am done creating the path I then notice that the image could have used further adjustments.

Okay...I found another way as well... suddenly it all started coming to me in the last few minutes:)
Once the image is on it's own layer, then we can select the path and then make a vector mask by going to "Layer>Vector Mask>Current Path". Once the vector mask is created, simply click on the image icon on it's layer, then transform away to your heart's content, and the path is transformed along with it. Once finished, the path for the vector mask can be saved as usual. (Don't click on the vector mask icon when transforming the image, otherwise only the path will be transformed.)

I have a JFrame with objects on it,
like several JTextField, JComboBox, JFormattedTextField, JCheckBox, JButton.
- User set some parameters on the GUI
- When user press the "export" button, an export function starts as Thread.
During the export process, how can I prevent that user changes the settings or press the export button again?
I am thinking about ...
When user press the export button, then
- export runs
- all objects are disabled
When export is done, then
- all objects are enabled
Is there a smart way of disabling / enabling all objects at once, without explicitly referencing each one of them like field1.disbabled(), ...
I am open also for other approaches.

Looking for a script to automate renaming layer objects, not the layer itself!

Hey there everyone,
I was wondering if there is a possibility to create/have a script for an automated renaming of several named layer objects in Indesign (CS6).
The situation, I'm facing is a document for a templating process with at least 80 layers and sometimes some special elements on each layer. The naming of the layers is kind of repeating for each page that is used. The only difference is some prefix change in the layer name and/or the name of an element itself. My problem is, that I need to rename most of those layers AND elements in a same way and I'm looking for a script that asks me for the name of a layer or element (perfect would be just a part of the name to have multiple steps at once) and I have the chance to type in the desired value. It affects frames, graphical elements and text boxes.
If anyone has an idea, how to simplify this process I would be very glad to get some informations or advices.

We need to enable Custom Objects in the offline edition of CRM On Demand so that Sales Reps can capture the additional information while they are in the field. I wanted to know how do we enable the Custom Objetcs in the offline edition.

I create an Oracle model for a captured SQL Server model and then right click -> click on 'Generate' to create the DB creation script.
(1) But few objects like user-defined datatypes are missed out in the script.
(2) Also, a simple stored proc as defined below missed out:

An OracleDI Dataserver connection to an RDBMS is, most of the time, defined with a single set of parameters: a user account name, a password and a URL.
OracleDI may need to access numerous tables on the RDBMS which may not all be stored in the same database schema, catalog, library, ...and for which access privileges may not be identical.
For this reason, it is necessary to ensure that the RDBMS user account has sufficient access privileges for these schema, catalog, librairies ...
The user account should have at least read/right access permission for any OracleDI Physical Schema referenced for the concerned Dataserver (depending on the project within which it is used, a Physical Schema may store both source and/or target tables).
Moreover, for project requirements, it may be necessary to use/create/drop certain RDBMS
components such as stored procedures, views, temporary tables, system tables ...
For this reason, make sure the user account referenced in the dataserver connection parameters is attributed sufficient privileges to any object it may manipulate with OracleDI.
2nd point: you can use any logical name for the data server Name.

You could refer to SDK sample

When I send a request "getAttribute" along with all the optional parameters, specifying the Username and password in the Request Properties window, I am getting following error.

Place an object like Illustrator does.

Hi. I need a way for Photoshop to place an object like Illustrator does. Sure, Smart Objects are nice but I need a method where I have a PS file and 1 or more layers in it are referenced. When these references are updated the PS file should update automatically (yes, I will have to have the file open and save ...). Illustrator does this ... page layout apps do this. I need for PS to do this or find a work method that will help do this. Any thoughts?
The specific details:
We have several hundred images of our app's interface. The images are composites of generic interface and language-specific interface. To make things easier when updating or translating docs we snag the local parts of the interface.
We would then place and align the separate images in FrameMaker. We're moving to a new tool and output and we need to put all of the images together in a single image file but want to retain the ability to only update the localized sections. Smart Objects are not smart when trying to do this as they require you to either (essentially) re-import the object (using Replace) or edit the object from the composite image. This obviates the ability to simply replace the target image and have the composite update.
So ... any input? Thoughts? Ideas? I considered the possiblity of doing this from Illustrator but that is just so much more ... demanding.

Yes one thought, but it's not perfect:
I think this would require a Phoroshop Javascript which does the following:
First, prepare the document: Each smartobject should be named like the actual file of it's original content, so the script knows where to look for changes, like "screenshots/shot1.jpg", "titles/title1.png" and so on.
Second, the script:
It should go through all smartobjects in the document and then check the file (which it gets by the name of the smartobject) and it's date.
If it's newer than the document's last changed date, it should replace the content, otherwise just skip it.
Well I don't know if the Photoshop Javascript is actually capable of things like that, but it can do a lot though and can be a big helper for everything batch-related

If I may ask... How did you create the photo with a transparent background? I know how to do that in photoshop... but how do you save it? because when I save something like that as a .jpg it defaults to a white background.

The report is not sent because of missing rights on the report or the Inbox.

these objects are depend on your interest.
actually there are three types of tables which stores the information about objects:
1. user_objects: which contains all the objects that are owned by the owner of the schema.
2. all_objects: this shows you all the objects that are acccesible to you, i.e. may be you can have access on some other user's objects.
3. dba_objects: which shows the objects in the database.
