Enabling OCSB/CRL in Keychain Access slows down Mac App Store

Today I wandered why the Mac App Store on my Macbook Pro is much slower than it used to be, clicking on "Purchased" tab even froze the Mac App Store and I had to force quit of the App Store. Then I remembered that I turned on OCSB/CRL in Keychain Access because of the Comodo security breach. I turned off this feature and instantly the Mac App Store worked as fast as a few weeks ago.
My question: this security feature is very essential, even after the Comodo story. And I don't think that I am the only one who uses this feature, I read several articles about this after the Comodo incident. Will there be a fix for this problem? Will there be a Mac App Store that remains usable with OCSB/CRL enabled?
Marcus

I know it's not real helpful, but that's a little better than my 164 KB/s AT&T DSL.
If other sites are loading faster and at the expected speed, then you might try later when there are less user's accessing the App Store.

Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Write down what it says about "version"and report that here. Now continue to "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
If you have a PPC Mac you cannot sync your idevice without a newer computer. See the end of this post for options.
If it says you have an Intel Mac you can upgrade to Snow Leopard, but check system requirements first:
Snow Leopard 10.6 Technical Requirements - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
You can buy Snow Leopard at:
Snow Leopard disc source - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
After installing run the updater to 10.6.8, then upgrade iTunes.

Options if you cannot upgrade: iTunes Store purchases can already be downloaded directly. Use iTunes Match to put non-Store music in iCloud, then download to your device from there. Backup your device directly to iCloud over a wireless connection. Photos can be downloaded from the Camera Roll using iPhoto or Image Capture.

• ACC slows down Mac OS X Finder (10.8.4)

I'm an iOS programmer. Knows Mac OS SDK well.
I downloaded and subscribed Adobe Creative Cloud.
From then, curious problem appeared on my Finder of Mac OS X.
If ACC is running background (when ACC is on my menu bar), my Finder slows down or Even cannot access to ANY or some directories.
At first, it has been observed only in accessing Library folder, but today my Desktop folder was not accessed. Continuous spinning waiting sign....!
So I quit ACC and reset Finder, then Everything restores.
IF I don't quit ACC and reset Finder, then Nothing restores.
Do you understand this? If not, I will show screen capture video.
I hoped your new update caught this problem, but it seems not included.
Be alert to Mac OS X user's voice... I have Windows laptop but it doesn't slow down File Explorer.
Thank you.

version of ACC is 1.1.0.213
Today I executed ACC agent again, and the Finder failed to reach Library folder.
But after quitting and relaunching of ACC agent, Finder didn't fail to reach to any folder.
I wil turn it on and will see if those error occurs again.
Sincerely,
Hison Kahng

Hi YerimENTClinic,
Are you still seeing the behavior?
What version of Creative Cloud app are you using? (From the Preferences > Account tab)
Does signing out of Creative Cloud, closing it, relaunching and signing in make any difference?
Thanks,
-Dave

• Safari is slow to open and close. It also slows down other apps while running. Should I reload safari and if so, how do I do so?

Safari is slow to open and close. It also slows down other apps while it is running. How can I resolve this issue?

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.
If there's no improvement, continue as follows.
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Test.

• Mac App Store download speed very slow...

I have been trying to download the App Store updates OS X Update 10.10.3 and OS X Yosemite Recovery Update to my iMac for the past several days. When opening the Mac App Store, I click on updates and they appear. However, when I select 'download' my download speed slows to the point of less than 1 MB per minute.
I seem to remember this happening when Yosemite was first released, but after a few days, I had no problem downloading Yosemite from the App Store.
This only occurs when trying to download from the Mac App Store. When I download iOS App updates to iTunes I do not have the same problem so it seems to be only affecting the Mac App Store.
My internet speed is fine. I can download fine from other websites, just not the Mac App Store.
After searching online, I found one solution that looked promising:
Finder->Applications->Utilities->Keychain Access->Preferences->Certificates->Certificate Revocation List- Changed from Best attempt to OFF.
Unfortunately for me this had no effect so I changed the setting back.
I then looked for a way I could download the files from outside the Mac App Store & found this:
Apple - Support - Downloads
When downloading from Apple Support downloads page, my downloads were very fast. The Yosemite 2 GB Combo update took about 15 minutes, a far cry from the App Store which would have taken hours.
Is there some setting I need to change to increase the download speed from the Mac App Store or is it just overloaded servers? Why then can I download the files from the support page and not run into the same slow speeds? Updating iTunes was also giving me very slow download speeds, so again, I went to the Apple Support Downloads & clicked the link to download the latest version of iTunes. The file downloaded in about a minute.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Apple servers are overloaded. Instead of using App Store, use safari to download the updates manually from apple websites.
Here's a link for OS X 10.10.2 Combo Update.
OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Combo Update
I had the same issue and downloaded manually from this link. It took me about 30-40 minutes. I'm using a 5mb connection. Your 40mb connection should be faster.
As for the iOS updates, you will have to download them from your iOS devices, because there are no standalone updates for iOS. Alternatively after you update your Mac, use iTunes to download iOS updates by connecting your iOS devices with your Mac. That should be faster than downloading through your iOS devices.

- Reset the iPOd. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

• I can't access the mac app store even though I have 10.6.8!

I have a MacBook 1.83GHz and I have just downloaded 10.6.8 and I have the mac app store in my dock but it has a line through it and says I need 10.7 to open it. Before downloading 10.6.8 I still had it in my dock but it said i needed 10.6.8 to open it.... I am really confused why I need 10.7 to open it as i thought you needed 10.6.8! How can i get the mac app store working!!???
Katy

You don't have the Snow Leopard version. Perhaps you didn't install Snow Leopard since you cannot download it. You must purchase it:
Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.
Snow Leopard General Requirements
1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
2. 1GB of memory
3. 5GB of available disk space
4. DVD drive for installation
5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
fees may apply.
6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
terms apply.

• Why is Mac App Store so slow in China?

Accessing the Mac App Store is extremely slow in China. It is so frustrating.
It is slow when loading, searching, downloading, etc.
Is it possible for Apple to set up some servers in China so that the users here can have better experience?

Apple is not here. Apple does not answer questions here. This is a user to user forum. No one here knows Apple's future plans.

• Why can't I access the Mac App Store anymore?

I want to upgrade my Mac Pro but I can no longer access the Mac App Store and don't know why.

Remember that Rosetta is not supported beyond 10.6.8. This means that if you use any PowerPC Apps, they will refuse to work.
My top six are:
Microsoft Office, including Word, 2004 or older
Photoshop CS2 or older
Apple Works 6
FileMaker Pro 6
Eudora 6
Quicken 2007 (unless you purchase and install the "Loin Compatible" update)

• HT1355 Why is the new iOS 6 so slow on the App Store?

Why is the iOS 6 so slow on the App Store?

Agree the new ios6 is much slower. I found this post by doing a search to find out if it was only me. I've done off & on & a soft reset. Neither helped. Everything seems to load much slower & hangs.
Maybe the new apps aren't optimized yet. However, I had one of my worst experiences with the Apple App Store. One would think they'd know how to optimize their own site & app.
I just hope it's not a bloat issue because the "upgrades" are not worth the performance trade offs to me.
Also, the iMaps are definitely not ready for prime time. I tried getting directions between two locations that were very mainstream and the app said it couldn't provide directions. I'll take Google without turn by turn, thank you. At least let us have a choice and let the best app win.

• Keynote 6 is down to 3-stars at the Mac App Store

As of this post, the 1-star reviews of Keynote 6 are approaching the 5-star reviews in quantity at the Mac App Store.
The overall average is down to 3-stars.
So... progress.

I think it's only going to let you review it if you've got Keynote 6 installed, which I don't recommend doing. That means Mavericks is up and running, and Keynote 6 has been lownloaded and installed.
If you go that route, do NOT delete 5.3! You'll want to come back to it later.

• Can I access apps purchased on Mac App Store from my iPad or iPhone?

I recently purchased an application from the Mac App Store on my MacBook Pro. Can I access this app from my iPad and iPhone? it does not come up as an app in iTunes.

You will have to purchase the iPad and iPhone versions separately as the Mac version will not work on IOS devices. Some apps work on both phone and iPad so they may not have to be purchased individually, but only IOS apps work on phones and tablets.

• Is there somewhere I can access Elements 9 Editor from Mac App Store?

I need a copy of Elements 9 Editor from the Mac App Store to do some product testing. I know it is discontinued old version however it must be possible to access it somewhere/somehow? I am happy to purchase if I can find it!!
Thanks

I am not aware of anywhere that you can still purchase Elements 9. It's too old.
You can download a trial version from
http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-9-premiere-elements-9-direct-download-links.h tml
However you'll only be able to use it for 30 days since you do not have a serial number and there's no way of buying one that I know of.
