Enabling Pop Up Windows in Internet Explorer 5.2.3

Does anyone out there still use Internet Explorer for mac or remember how. I use Safari, but have since had to download Explorer for one particular program that only works with Explorer. I need to view some reports and was told I could only do so if I enable pop up windows. For the life of me I can not figure out how to do this or if it is even possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, but can you help clear something up for me? If I am able to view everything on this program with my mac such as catalogs, order lists, etc. why am I unable to view one part of it?
Is it possible that mac can read part of a program, but not all, especially if the program is supposed to work exclusively with Explorer?
It impossible to know the exact reason. It depends on how the site is programmed. It's possible for the site to check what web browser you are using and only work with the desired browser. It's possible to include ActiveX, a Microsoft thing, that will only run on a PC.
There are a lot of Microsoft only features in IE that other browsers do not support. M$ adds these feature so you are forced to buy a PC to get the site to work.
Is this a generally available site? Could you post the address?
Have you tried FireFox? getfirefox.com
Opera & iCab let you configure what browser they will emulate. You could try
them.
While an expensive solution, you could buy Virtual PC to run windows on you PPC. For the intel macs, you could get Parallels.

  • Solution center suddenly ask for enabling Adobe Flash player for internet explorer for scanning

Solution center suddenly ask for enabling Adobe Flash player for internet explorer for scanning. However, flash player is installed and enabled, but HP Solution center keeps asking for enabling and doesn't let me scan.
    Any suggestion?

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @yuvalyanai
I read about the issue you are having with scanning, as you are seeing a message to enable Adobe Flash player.
To begin, I would like to know some more information:
Which operating system you are running and which printer you are working with?
How Do I Find My Model Number?
Which Windows Operating System am I running?
    Can you make copies successfully?
Can you print from your computer?
Have you tried updated Adobe Flash player?
Can you scan successfully from Microsoft Paint?
How is your printer connected to your PC, wireless, ethernet or USB?
In the meantime, try resetting the printer:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
I hope to hear from you, have a wonderful weekend

  • Windows vista, internet explorer 8 and adobe reader 9

I have windows vista, internet explorer 8 and adobe reader 9.  When i open pdf files from a website i cannot save the document.  I don't get an error message, it just does not open.

Have you tried capturing these application in separate packages?  I have been successful in capturing IE8 in one package and Adobe Reader XI in another package and then using the OptionalAppLinks option in the IE8 package to point to the Adobe Reader dat file.  Just make sure that both packages work outside of the applinking.  Also, you can try to install Adobe to the native machine and see if the embedded pdfs work in the virtual IE package.
These are just the troubleshooting steps that I would take to narrow down what is causing the issue you are seeing.

  • Maximize the oracle forms window in internet explorer

    hi to all,
how can maximize the oracle forms window in internet explorer? my current display setting is 1280x1024. im using forms 10g r1
    pls. i need your help.

It's probably important to know that although you can command the forms_mdi window to maximize, it won't actually "maximize". It will remain in the "normal"state. This is a current limiation that can likely only be overcome with a custom java bean.

  • URL issue with Windows 7 Internet Explorer 11 and SAP NW PI 7.

    Hello SAP community,
I am facing a strange issue with Windows 7 - Internet Explorer 11 and SAP NW java services (I hope I am in the correct discussion) ...
When I try to open URL http://sapserver.hosters-name:port it is working so far with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11.
But when I click than on NWA (example), I am getting "http 500 server error".
I don't have the issue, when I start-up a VMware Workstation with Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8.
But now the strange part: In our network DNS (Domain Name Service), we can also open the URL by http://sapserver.our-dns:port.
Than it is working without problems with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer.
I would agree to state the comment - it is just a Windows 7/Internet Explorer 11 issue, if it wouldn't work for both URLs (http://sapserver.hosters-name:port = problem URL; http://sapserver.our-dsn:port = working).
We are using a SAP NW PI 7.x system. Some URLs for PI are using http://sapserver.hosters-name:port/java service.
Do you have any hints what is cause the issue - I suspect some with Internet Explorer and Firefox (because with Google Chrome at least the URL for NWA is opened, beside the issue, Google Chrome can't display NWA content)?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards
    Carlos

    Hi all,
I think I found the solution.
The reason seems to be, the domain name for http://sapserver.our-dns:port, "our-dns" was already added to the compatibility view settings of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
That seemed to be the reason, why it was working with http://sapserver.our-dns:port.
When I now added for http://sapserver.hosters-name:port the domain "hosters-name" to the compatibility view settings it is now working.
Internet Explorer Options => Settings for compatibility view => Add domain

  • Title Format Issues Since Upgrade to Windows XP Internet Explorer 8

Users' old PCs: Windows 2000 Internet Explorer 6
Users' new PCs: Windows XP Internet Explorer 8
My users are having a problem with the title layout of their Discoverer Plus reports ever since they had thies PC upgraded from Windows 2000 Internet Explorer 6 to Windows XP Internet Explorer 8. One aspect of their titles is that they have an &parameters in the title. The values for this one paramater has dozens and dozens of paramater values. For example: Project # 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.......87. That's what they want to appear in their title screen, all those project #s. The core of the problem is this list of values going across their title screen is no longer wrapping to the next line since they moved to XP IE 8. It's forcing this long list of project #s to be all on one line (cutting off the list of projects when it reaches the end of the page).
When my users were on Windows 2000 Internet Explorer 6, the project values would wrap to the next line without any problem (creates 4 or 5 lines of project #s). They have been having the title issue since their PCs have been upgraded to Windows XP Internet Explorer 8. When I edit the header from a 2000 IE6 machine (where it works from), the font is Arial. But, if I edit the header on an XP IE8 machine the font says dialog and the wrapping doesn't work. If I try to change the font to Arial, hit ok, nothing changes and it seems to reset back to dialog when I go back in to edit.
Anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?
    Thanks!

    Hi
Not all versions of Discoverer are certified for use with IE8. You will find this note on Oracle Support (https://support.oracle.com/CSP/ui/flash.html) very useful: 233047.1
In there it states that only Discoverer 11g and Discoverer 10g (patched up to 10.1.2.3) are certified with IE8. Discoverer 10g (10.1.2.2 and earlier) is certified for IE6 and IE7 but not IE8 and Oracle has no plans to certify 10.1.2.2 with IE8.
Older releases of Discoverer, prior to 10.1.2, are generally only certified for IE6.

  • Is there vi that can close Windows 7 Internet Explorer?

    Greetings,
I develop LabVIEW executables for internal use. We have a very loose IT policy. When our techs are running my LabVIEW programs, I want Windows 7 Internet Explorer disabled, or closed when the LabVIEW executable is running. I am thinking that there must be a way to have LabVIEW look for any open Internet Explorer Windows, and close them every 10 seconds or so. Any ideas of how to accomplish this?
    Thanks, Alan

You can use Web Browser ActiveX object to stop IE browser during your application running.

This will not stop an Internet Explorer that's been launched by the user. It only applies to an embedded IE ActiveX control.
    Stop IE Browser Windows  Service.
What IE Browser Windows service? There is no such thing.
    To OP: You can:
Use System Exec to kill any currently running iexplore.exe processes using the kill command. Or you could just blindly send this periodically.
You could use the Windows API Function Utilities (32-bit) for LabVIEW to check if an Internet Explorer window is open (though this may not be robust since it depends on the window name) and then close that window.
    You could uninstall IE.
Of course, this won't stop somebody from using Firefox, or using an app-on-a-stick approach by putting a browser like Firefox or Chrome on a USB stick.
Usually in these cases education goes farther than you trying to prevent somebody from running something like a web browser.

  • How to make 32-bit-only add-ons work with Windows 7, Internet Explorer 11 and Enhanced Protected Mode enabled?

    Hi everybody,
in IE10 I had the chance to use 32-bit-tabs even with EPM. In IE11 my 32-bit add-ons are all marked as "incompatible".
    Do you have any suggestions?
    Regards, Don

    Hi Don,
The ”Enhanced Protected Mode ” feature of  Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 7 has been simplified and it doesn`t provide the “Enable 64-bit processes for Enhanced Protected Mode” feature. The Enhanced Protected  Mode is based on the 64 bit process.
So that may be the reason.
Here is a link for reference of Enhanced Protected Mode :

  • When clicking on a button on any website, that opens a new window in Internet Explorer, nothing happens. I have unchecked the " block pop ups" box, but that didn't help.

This happened for example when clicking on "printable view" on my Roadrunner webmail.

    My problem is as follows:
    Installed Firefox with no difficulty
    It opened normally
Used and setup Google News UK as default page with no difficuly and page opened normally.
But then trried to open individual items in Google News and every time got message Internet Explorer cannot open this site

  • Can someone help me get adobe flash running on Windows 8 Internet explorer 10 desktop?

I am running Windows 8 and I use internet explorer 10 desktop, but Flash content will not load!!!!! Can someone help?
Also, Shockwave flash objext is enabled, and ActiveX Filtering is disabled.

    you need boot camp 3.0.x first before later versions can be installed;
    Or,
I don't know what currently Boot Camp Assistant in 10.6.8 will also do a download of drivers.
But other than change Properites and try setting "use Windows 7 mode" and such, I think you are left high and dry with whatever is in 8.
And I use 8 on two of three systems. I left my Mac Pro @ Windows 7 for now but I much prefer Windows 8, yes.
I would not have chosen or gone with any 32-bit version. As long as you have 3GB RAM or more, forget it. Use 64-bit.
I have not seen or rather read any "success" stories with 8 and Apple drivers though.

  • Windows 8 Internet explorer only- an error occured

I am using windows 8. NOT 8.1. I have tested flash player in firefox and chrome. They both work fine. The only browser with a problem is, of course, microsoft's internet explorer. I have the latest version of everything. I have tried uninstalls and reinstalls. I have checked to make sure activex filtering is off and that the flash player add-ons are enabled. Please, if you have any thoughts, let me know.

Windows 8 is far from the best thing Microstuff ever released. I can't stand it myself. (Being a Mac user makes me appreciate it even less)
8.1 is worse. Be glad you don't have it. I did for a while and it was hell. I had to reformat my laptop to get rid of it and I've blocked the update notification with a registry key, so it CAN'T even be offered anymore..
I've never been a fan of Internet Exploder. I used Netscape in 1998. I switched to Opera in 2000, and Mozilla (now Firefox) in 2002. I have IE for testing purposes ONLY amd I would NEVER consider using it as my everyday browser. It's unsafe, full of security holes, slower than molasses in January and it's not even compatible with most 2007 web standards... this is 2014. ANYTHING ELSE would be an imporvement.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE won't, using the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Firefox cant load graphics in a popup window where Internet Explorer can

Firefox v3.6 works well in all but one case. When browsing on the website http://www.investors.com and viewing a page that shows a small graph everything works as it should. However, the small graph has a link that says "enlarge this graph" that when clicked opens a pop-up window. The pop-up window opens correctly showing the page name and advertisements at the top but in the area where the larger graphic of the graph should appear nothing happens
I've checked that the latesst version of silverlight is installed and working, the condition causes no error messages, anti-virus software and firewalls don't seem to have any effect. I am running Windows XP SP3 on an Intel processor.
When I use Internet Explorer the web page and the pop-up window work properly and the enlarged graphic works correctly. What needs to be tweaked to get this graphic in the pop-up window to display correctly

  • Search add ons popping up when opening internet explorer

had a verizon tech work on this for hours said must  be in a registery file could not resolve with premiuym support

    Hello again bwt80144,
Thank you for responding to my post requesting additional information. I am going to provide you with some steps to try below to see if we can get this issue of Search Add-Ons popping up on you.
    Step 1: Open Internet Explorer
Step 2. Click the Tools button
    Step 3. Click Internet options
Step 4. On the Advanced tab, under Security, select the Enable Enhanced Protected Mode check box
    Step 5. Click OK
    Step 6. Restart your computer
***NOTE: Enhanced Protected Mode helps protect your PC and personal data from malware and other attacks. When it's turned on, add-ons such as toolbars, extensions, and browser helper objects can only run if they're compatible with Enhanced Protected Mode. You'll be notified if an add-on is incompatible.
Now if you are still having issues with the pop-ups you can try the steps below to remove the Add-Ons:
    Step 1. Open Internet Explorer
Step 2. Click the Tools button
    Step 3. Click Manage Add-Ons
    Step 4. Click All add-ons
Step 5. Select the add-on you want to delete
Step 6. If the add-on can be deleted, you'll see the Remove option. Tap or click Remove
    Step 7. Click Close
If none of the above works I would check my computer to ensure that I did not have a virus. I am providing you with an HP Support document: HP and Compaq Computers - Resolving and Preventing Viruses on Your Computer, which I would recommend that you review and apply to your computer to ensure that you are not infected with a virus.
Please re-post if you require additional support. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
