Enabling resource reservation causes calendar events to disappear

Hello,
On a new SharePoint site, I created a calendar and imported a large number of events from an Excel spreadsheet. So far so good - all the events showed up on the calendar:
We then decided that we wanted to make use of the new "resource reservation" feature, so I enabled it for the calendar by following the steps in this article:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-server-help/enable-reservation-of-resources-in-a-calendar-HA101810595.aspx
However, after doing this, all of the events in the calendar disappear from calendar view:
The events show up in the All Items list view, but I cannot figure out how to get them to appear on the calendar.
Is there a step I am missing, or something else that needs to be done to get this to work?
Thanks in advance.

Hi.  I don't know if you found an answer yet, but I had a similar issue. I stumbled upon a way to fix this and thought I'd post it in case it helps. It is STRANGE solution (but hey, it's Sharepoint so that shouldn't shock you.)
PROBLEM: My problem is similar, not related to resources, but related to "Attendees". When I change the "General Settings" -"Group Calendar Options" - to
turn ON "Use this calendar to share member's schedule?" it automatically attaches the SCHEDULE content type.  So, then I have EVENT and SCHEDULE content types.  And,
when I view the CALENDAR view, all my entries are hidden unless I actually assign a person.  (This is VERY similar to assigning "resources".)
SOLUTION:
Here are the steps I used to fix --
Verify that you have the SCHEDULE content type in the
List Settings.  (If the content types don't appear, be sure to enable Management of Content Types).
In "Title, Desc, and Navigation" turn ON (check) the "Use this calendar to share member's
schedule?"
Verify. You should now see the SCHEDULE content type in the List Settings.
Change the content types of your list items to "Schedule".
I did this by simply creating a new DATASHEET view and I included "Content Type" as a viewable column.  Then I simply changed all the content types to "Schedule" using a simply COPY/PASTE.
Now go back to the List Settings -
"Title, Desc, and Navigation" and turn OFF (uncheck) the "Use this calendar to share member's schedule?".  (I know, I know, seems like this wouldn't work,
but you'll still be able to use it to schedule people/resources.)
Verify - You should STILL see the "Schedule" content type.
While still in
List Settings, click each of the other Content Types (other than "Schedule") and
delete them from your list. (IMPORTANT: Before Deleting
-- Check that all the fields you want are part of the SCHEDULE Content Type. (In the Columns - "Used In".) If your needed columns are not Used In "Schedule" add those columns to the "Schedule" content type so you don't lose data.)
Now in the List Settings you should only see the "Schedule" content type.
Check your calendar view.  You should now see all the entries!
Hope this helps.
Mark
This work for me, thanks Mark!

How can I retrieve my calendar events. Will Apple improve the calendar function or revert to the previous system. Even the typing function on IOS 7 is faulty - very slow to respond to the keyboard. I no longer enjoy using my iPhone. Can anyone assist. Thank you

Very strange! All of my calendar events have reappeared. This has happened one week after downloading iOS 7
The calendar however,  is not easy to use.
The typing function on the phone has  become even slower. Have to wait for each letter to show on screen.

Plug your phone into the wall charger for at least 30 minutes...make sure you have a sim card in the phone...then:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
Make sure you have no anti-virus software running or any firewalls...turn all of that stuff off.

  • My calendar events keep disappearing when I add them to my iphone 5 calendar.

My calendar events keep disappearing from my iphone5 a few days after I put them in. I tried all the fixes listed in other questions, but it's not a matter of syncing or not, the appointments disappear and they're not anywhere else either. I need the appointments to stay on my phone, I don't add appointments any other way or on any other device, and when they're gone, I have no idea what I'm missing. It's screwing up my work schedule because I don't know what has disappeared.

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data [1] in the file sessionstore.js [2] in the Firefox profile folder [3].
Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

  • Many contacts and calendar events have disappeared

Many of my contacts and calendar events have suddenly disappeared. Can they be retrieved?

Mine too. I have a J Home and J Work calendar. The J Home calendar is completely gone and had all my personal events. I checked iCloud and it is gone there. No one has access except me. I opened my calendar on my iphone this afternoon to add an appt for my son. The data was there and basically disappeared in front of my eyes. I didn't touch the calendars menu until everything was gone so it wasn't me. I'm losing my mind right now. Everything is gone...just gone.
I just noticed my wife's shared calendars also no longer appear on my phone or iCloud. Both of her calendars appear on her iCloud and they still say they are shared with me. That's just f****n great. iCloud broke something and I'm the one to suffer. I'll bet anything Apple won't do anything to help as they don't back up iCloud data. I'm sure they do as they are required by law, but they won't admit it. SONOFA!!!!

  • Calendar events keep disappearing

    Hello,
Today I have added a number of appointments to my iPhone Calendar only to find that they have disappeared later. This has happened multiple times today which is a bit of a pain as it is difficult to know which items are missing. I checked my online .mac account tonight and the items are not there, also checked my MacBook pro Calendar and they are not there either. This has never been an issue before and I don't believe that I am doing anything differently.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks

Hi, Things have started to go horribly wrong. I have performed a manual sync from my macbook pro to .mac and for a few minutes this restored the calendar on .mac. I added an entry to .mac and a few mins later the calendar was pushed to my iPhone. On returning to my .mac account, the calendar has now been deleted although the data is still on my iPhone and macbook pro. As it's getting late here in the UK, I am switching it all off in the hope that something positive will happen overnight and my faith in technology can be restored - otherwise, it's back to the paper diary!
If you have any other ideas as to what to do, it would be much appreciated..
    Thanks

  • Exchange Calendar Events Disappearing from iPhone after Editing

    iPhone 6 running iOS8.
Exchange calendar events are disappearing from iPhone right after I edit them from my phone. But they are still visible on my MacBook in Outlook.
It used to happen very rarely but lately it has been happening very frequently. Haven't been able to find a pattern and re-create it.
Tried searching online for this issue. Found quite a few threads about calendar sync issues, including the GMT bug but haven't been able to find this exact issue that I have been facing.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I have the same problem and it has nothing to do with filing or moving emails,  for instance just before I logged in here to find a solution for the problem, I had just received and email on my iPad.  I was reading it then clicked on a link.  When I finished reading the link In Safari  and went back to the email, it was gone.   I have replied to an email then come back to it and it was gone.  This had nothing to do with viewing the email on a ore device.  This is a real problem I have asked about before and no one seems to know the answer.

  • HT203521 Calendar events disappearing when changing Apple ID

My wife changed her AppleID, and her Calendar events have disappeared from her iCloud account (even though the prompt said they'd be merged).
Her contacts, notes and other iCloud info all seem to still be there. The problem persists across the entire iCloud platform (iOS, OSX, web).
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well Sir, it depends. Sometimes it depends on what email those Calendar events are hooked to. So i would suggest you try checking if her Calendar is actually connected to the right platform by going to Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calendars - Scroll down to the bottom under Calendars - Default Calendar - Tap on it to see if its connected to iCloud or a particular email address. You can fuddle with it to see where all her events are saved. Sometimes it might be that, those events were hooked to her email or something. I hope this helps, please keep me posted.

  • All the calendar events on mi iPad are gone?

My calendar events have disappeared. Why? Can I get them back

Okay, I've potentially found the answer in another thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/7720400#7720400
"There is an option on the iPhone under Mail, Contacts, Calendar that says Sync... it's towards the bottom and I believe it is set by default to sync only events going back 2 weeks... this being due to space requirements you don't want really want years upon years of events taking up music space especially on a smaller iPhone. You do have the option of changing it to 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or all events based on your needs."
I set it to sync all events and my events came back on my iphone. Still waiting to see if they come back on my ipad. Fingers crossed. Hope it works for you.
(P.S. It's still a little weird that this happened suddenly. My events have always been there on the iphone for me to see and suddenly the settings have changed to only show me events in the past month? Confusing...)

  • Calendar disappeared! Last week I updated to IOS7. Today as the clocks ticked over in Australia to 2014 my contacts and calendar events disappeared. Help!

Please help. With the beginning of 2014, my calendar events disappeared. I turned the iPad off, the. On again and repeat events reappeared, but all once off events/ appointments are gone! Everything was there before midnight, but I discovered around 2am, 1.1.14 that everything was gone. Bug? Help! Please.

Are your contacts stored in an MS Exchange server, in iCloud, or some other source? Setting the Sync to less than All Events should not delete events, but only stop showing them on your device. However, Outlook also has a setting to actually delete events older than a certain date. Have you checked that?
If you log in to iCloud.com (and you are syncing with iCloud) what do you see? Whatever is there is all you can get on the iPhone, unless you can restore from another source.
I also suggest enabling iCloud Backup (settings/icloud - Storage and Backup). This will create a new backup any time your phone is connected to power and WiFi, so you will always have a current backup, painlessly.

BlackBerry Desktop Software utilizes Apple's SyncServices technology in order to synchronize Contact, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks information to and from the Mac computer.
BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes information with the SyncServices database, which is synchronized with the desktop applications on the Mac computer (for example: Apple Address Book, iCal, Apple Mail, Microsoft Outlook for Mac). BlackBerry Desktop Software does not synchronize directly to or from the desktop applications on the Mac computer.
Mac OS X Mavericks v10.9 and later does not use SyncServices, therefore, it is not possible to synchronize Contact or Calendar information using the BlackBerry Desktop Software on these versions of OS X.
For more information on SyncServices and OS X Mavericks, see the following Apple Support article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5847
Note: BlackBerry Desktop software 2.4 is still supported for use with Mac OS X v10.6, 10.7, and 10.8.

  • Outlook to iPhone sync failure – Sync suddenly stopped working for calendar events but continued for contacts and notes.   Finally Fixed!!!  SUPPORT TEAM – PLEASE SEE THIS – Complete explanation of cause and correction steps.

The issue:  Outlook to iPhone sync failure – Sync suddenly stopped working for calendar events but continued for contacts and notes.   Finally Fixed!!!
SUPPORT TEAM – PLEASE SEE THIS – Complete explanation of cause and correction steps.
The cause:  It is now clear what caused this problem.  For years I had several “all-day” events in my Outlook calendar (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.).  In May 2012 I decided to make some of them one hour  events so I could add alerts to remind me of the event.  I did this by dragging them in Outlook to the time I wanted and expanding them to the time slot desired and then adding the alarm.
The symptom:  Syncing stopped working for the calendar but continued working for contacts and notes.  I didn’t realize sync was failing until months later when I missed two very important phone calls, so when I noticed it the cause was not obvious.
The failed attempts:  I’m head of a software firm and my calendar sync is a crucial to my business life so I took this on with a vengeance.  From a quick look at events in Outlook and the iPhone I could see that the problem started in May 2012.  Events before May were in both Outlook and the iPhone but events after May were only one or the other.  Unfortunately I had changed several other things at the same time relating to other events so again the cause was not obvious.  MANY calls with AppleCare proved them incompetent so my internal IT guys assisted trying many things.  We tried a huge number of calendar changes and several versions of iTunes, iPhone OS and Office as well as both iPhone 4 and 5, all without success.
The fix:  After 18 months of frustration, MANY  hundreds of $ expense and MANY hours of wasted time I saw a blog that had a calendar sync  problem and it indicated all day events were related.  I changed the display of the Outlook calendar to the list view, added columns so I could see “all day” event check marks as well as times of events,  sorted on the “all day” event column to move them to the top, and for all events that were “all day” events AND had a start and end time, I removed recurrence and then added the annual recurrence back…
After I fixed all events that had BOTH “all day” set and had a start/end time, I tried another sync.  It synced for the first time in 18 months!
Problem occurred May 2012 – fixed Nov 2013

Hi, to remove dummy '_ModGrp' entries, rather than crashing the 'Suppr' key on your keyboard, you can use this basic VBA macro (launched for instance from Excel).
It will recursively remove all '_ModGrp...' folders
    Sub RemoveFolders_Click()
        Dim oOutlook As Outlook.Application
        Set oOutlook = New Outlook.Application
        Set objNameSpace = oOutlook.GetNamespace("MAPI")
        Call CleanFolders(objNameSpace.Folders)
    End Sub
    Sub CleanFolders(objFolders As Outlook.Folders)
        For i = objFolders.Count To 1 Step -1
            If Left(objFolders(i).Name, 7) = "_ModGrp" Then
                objFolders.Remove( i )
            Else
If Not objFolders(i).Folders Is Nothing Then
                    Call CleanFolders(objFolders(i).Folders)
                End If
            End If
        Next i
    End Sub

  • I have an iPhone 5c I tapped the lines at the top of the calendar and the format changed to a list. My calendar events disappeared and I can no longer fill any events in. I want to return my calendar to its previous format and can't get it to go back.

I have an iPhone 5c I was messing with my calendar and pushed the little lines at the the top to create a list format. My events all disappeared and now I can not get anything back or add anything back. June reappeared and I can renter anything in July or August. I would like to undo this list format and return to my previous calendar view? Does anyone know what I am talking about?

tap again and choose the format month or let it be the day.

  • Why do all my Calendar events on my iPad 2 disappear when I try to edit an event?

Ever since I updated my iPad 2 to iOS6, a strange quirk occurs with Calendar. If I try to edit a Calendar event on the iPad (no matter what the event is or when it is), all the events in my entire calendar disappear from iPad. They don't actually "delete" themselves because I can then click on Calendars and add my Gmail calendar back. This is extremely annoying, though, and I'd hate for it to decide to wipe them all out food good one day. Has anyone else experienced this bug, and have you found a solution?
    Thanks!

You can sort Events manually, but you cannot sort within Events manually. So I'm not sure what you're asking here.
