Enabling the 'R' key to start recording.

Pressing the R key will open the Media window to the right of the regions, unlike on my MacBook.
How do I set up Logic Express 8 to enable the R key to activate recording? It's rather a nuisance having to reach for the mouse every time!

If all else fails you might consider getting a third party app for setting up your own hot keys. Don't know it this would work for you, but check out this thread on the topic.

Holy crap, this fixes the issue. At least temporarily it has. I should add that my issue was single finger forward/back swipe stopped working on the magic mouse in Firefox since Mavericks came along. I have been fighting this since I upgraded to Mavericks a few months ago. Thank you, tbirdvet. You have no idea how much easier you just made using my iMac again.

Hey, everytime I hit the enter key for example in Safari to enter a webpage, my itunes songs keep starting and stopping like I have the itunes window active... Does anyone know a solution for this? I tryed reinstalling and no luck...

What are the system specs for your pc? It seems it's to slow to play iphone's 720p HD videos. QT 7.7.3 is the latest for windows but VLC Player will play these videos too.

Note that it's advised to use events instead of starting the workflow directly like this, if possible.

How do I enable the Mac keys in windows XP?

I recently bought a new Mac keyboard with a num pad. Before that I was using a normal mac keyboard. I cannot remember if I changed the drivers or any settings before, but my old mac keyboard could lower and increase volumes using the assigned buttons, as with the increase and lower brightness buttons. Holding down the "fn" key would make it the F11, F12 buttons and so on.
However, when I use my new Mac keyboard, when i press the increase volume button, it's registered as F12, same for the other buttons. Holding down the "fn" key makes no difference. I've tried changing the keyboard preference in the bootcamp control panel, but this only affects my old keyboard, and makes no difference to my new keyboard.
I'm using Windows XP on an iMac.
All help and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I need the option key to start my mac but It wont work! help!?

About a year ago I downloaded some program to make windows work on my mac. Recently I uninstalled it because I no longer needed it. The only thing was everytime I restarted my mac it brought me to a black screen and told me to insert a bootable disc. I looked up the problem and people told me that if I hold the option key when my mac make the chime sound I could select my hard drive. Well this worked fine for a while. But then suddenly my z key stopped working so I restarted my mac. And it turns out my option key wont work as well. So I can't boot up my mac. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try holding the X key instead of the Option key. If that works, once you're in Mac OS X, goto System Preferences/Startup Disk and select your hard drive then hit restart. That should solve your startup problems. You'll still need to resolve your Z and Option key problem but at least the startup should work.

Just downloaded this and it's brilliant. I can stand on the other side of the room and start and stop a recording.
Now I just have to work out if it's $50 good! A 14 day trial so I'll see how it works in that period.

Firefox is erratic about loading complete information enabling the downloading of an mp3 recording on my web site.

My website, www.higherlearninganovel.com, has a link for listening to and/or downloading six selections of recordings. There is an arrow to the left of each selection, but this arrow does not come up when the site's home page first appears. It has to be refreshed several times before the arrows appear. This does not occur on any other browser (Safari, Opera, IE)

The MP3 wpaudio converter script doesn't seem to work properly in Firefox 3.6.<br />
I do get the players in Firefox 4 nightly build, so there it works.

RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. If you did not do step 4 properly, start all over again.

Insert record and return the primary key

Okay, I need to insert a record into a MSSQL database and return the primary key of that record. Im using the following code which is obviously wrong as I'm getting either 'NULL' or 'com.microsoft.jdbc.base.BaseResultSet@1d520c4' returned depending on the ways I've tried. You might want to do this in a transaction. If the INSERT fails, you'll want to roll back.
The "select @@identity" is correct for M$ Access, SQL Server, and Sybase. I believe it's also correct for MySQL, but I'm not 100% certain of that.

PLEASE HELP!!! I clicked on the wrong folder to start up in and now I don't know how I can start in Mac OSx 10.4 anymore.

I have already pressed and held down the options key during start up but I can only select the HD drive (which is what I want) but I can't specify which folder to start up in (I accidently pressed 9 before instead of 10.4) and now I can't revert back to 10.4. Whenever I start it now, it is just a grey screen with a floppy disk image in the middle with a blinking question mark.

When I restart my computer and hold the option key after creating a bootable usb with windows 7 and partitioning only the original partition shows up. Not the windows one or the bootable usb.

     Okay so first things first this isn't the newest macbook pro. When I open about my mac and go to system report it says it is a Macbook Pro 3,1 and the Boot Rom Version say MBP31.0070.B07. Originally when starting up Boot Camp Assistant there where only two options, the "create windows 7 bootable usb" was not there at all. So after some editing and helpful tutorials I was able to get the option show up and created a bootable usb with windows 7 and downloaded the support software onto a separate flash drive. Finally I did the last step and created a second partition for windows. Once the process is complete my computer automatically restarts.
     This is where the problem is. Once my computer makes the booting up sound it doesn't load up windows it gets stuck on a apple logo as if it's trying to reastart normally and can't. So I shut down and this time I hold down the option key during start up. It brings up the main partition and some recovery thing but no windows partiton and no bootable usb.
     I forgot to mention that I am running OS X 10.9.3. Okay any body want to help me out? Iv'e been at this for hours and can't get an inch closer to having windows. Please and thank you!
P.S. If I missed a discussion that answer my question just point me to it. Iv'e been looking for a while, but who knows i might have missed one.

The only known way to make it work on an external drive is by first installing Windows onto an internal drive, then cloning the install to an external Thunderbolt drive. Thunderbolt is seen as an extension of the internal bus, so Windows doesn't see it as an external device.
