Encapsulation dot1q command missing from C2600 Router

According to what I've read the encapsualtion dot1q command was implemented in version 12.0 I have 12.2 but when I create a sub interface the encapsualtion command is not availabloe
What am i missing !!!

"show in itunes store" command missing from video library

updated to itunes 11.1, and ios7.
This isn't a pro or con diatribe, just a list of the minorish bugs that i have noticed:
First (probable?) bug:
With the latest update, the (control click) "show in itunes store" command is missing from all video layouts (unwatched, shows, genres) except "list".
I assume this is just a temporary bug, as it limits easy access to purchasable store content.
This is especially important since "check for available downloads", while still around, has been, as far as i can tell, completely nonfunctional for months.
I now have all my email notifications for passes turned on, and just manually click on the emails to download new content.
However, especially for shows with extra content, sometimes the email doesn't download the actual show, just the extra content.
for this reason, and for non pass shows, and just for general shopping and impulse buys, I liked to use the "show in itunes store" to easily check shows that i am currently interested in.
except that now it is gone.
Another (probable) bug:
I have a lot of purchased content, so i have the cloud turned off to control the flow of menu information. i don't need to see everything i have purchased all the time, only the newest shows that i actually have loaded onto the ipad. I still just load in the shows i want to watch from my main computer after i have downloaded them from apple to the hard drive, which i guess is now a bit old fashioned. ios7 doesn't seem to like this very much, as it initially displays the cloud content when opening the "video" app, before blanking and replacing it with the edited down version. But the real bug is this:
Now when i delete a video on the ipad, it crashes the "video" app.
And, instead of recognizing the delete when i sync to the computer, it ignores it and reloads the video onto the ipad.
......And finally:
There is still a tendency for the ipad and itunes to throw up the "sign in" pop up, often multiple times in a row, anywhere and for no reason, even when i am already signed in. Sometimes i can just hit "cancel" and it disappears, other times it forces me to retype my password. It's gotten a lot better and less frequent than when it first started earlier this year, but it's still around.
Having said this, I'm still, of course, a huge fan of the change earlier this year that keeps track of purchases and allows me redownload, instead of the old "lose it and its gone, tough luck" policy.

I have my sidebar turned on, but it doesn't seem to make a difference if it is showing or not.
I looked around in settings, view, and window for a way to modify the control click menu, but couldn't find anything.
It's a very minor issue.
If your menu is working, maybe I just need to delete my copy of itunes and reinstall. Or change a setting somewhere.

Why is the "Send to iDVD" command missing from the share menu in iPhoto 9.4.3 when trying to send a slideshow to iDVD?

How come the "Send to iDVD" command is missing from the share menu? In iPhoto I used to be able to send my slideshows to iDVD simply my clicking on the slideshow, selecting the "Share" menu at the top and going to "Send to iDVD". Now in iPhoto 9.4.3 that option is missing.
Further i am also using iDVD 7.1.2 and running OSX version 10.8.3.

Export the slideshow via the Export button at the bottom of the slideshow window with Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, choose a theme and drag the exported movie file to the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

Role-based view commands missing from config

Hi All,
I set up a 2960G with IOS 12.2(44)SE6 and created a role-based view to be used by our helpdesk. One of the things they need to do is add rules to a MAC ACL on the switch. I've successfully created a view for them and can include and exclude most commands, however, when I try to include the "commands mac-enacle include all permit" command, I get no syntax error, and there is no line in my configuration reflecting the change. As it stands, from the helpdesk view (named smco) I can get into mac acl configuration mode, but I can't issue any of the sub commands.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I tried upgraded to 12.2(55)SE and had the same result.
The current configuration for the parser view is as follows:

commands configure include all mac access-list
commands configure include mac
commands exec include configure terminal
commands exec include configure

After I issue the command "commands mac-enacl include all permit" there is no line in my startup or running configuration that says: "commands mac-enacl include all permit" or anything that closely resembles that.
I've tested with multiple local accounts. After authenticating, I issue the "enable view smco".

Sudo command missing from Terminal app

Here is a screenshot that shows missing sudo command. How do I restore it? I am not a linux expert, so please keep the answer simple!!

Its not missing, it simply cannot determine if your user is allowed to sudo since it can't find any sources. This is usually an indication of a corrupt installation.

Exchange Powershell Commands Missing from EMS

I just performed a fresh install of Exchange 2013 w/ SP1 on Windows 2012 Standard R2 which is also a domain controller in an organization that already has an Exchange 2010 server (on a separate server). When I launch the Exchange Management Shell and attempt
to run "Get-ExchangeServer" I get the error "The term 'Get-ExchangeServer' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program..." I see that \\HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PowerShell\1\PowerShellSnapIns\Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.SnapIn
is loading the module name "D:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange\bin\Microsoft.Exchange.PowerShell.Configuration.dll" (which is the correct path to that file).
I've restarted the server twice and have the same issue. Also tried doing an unattended install of just the Managment Tools since using the setup GUI didn't give me the option of uninstalling and reinstalling the Management Tools since the checkbox is greyed
out. I searched the ExchangeSetup log for errors and didn't find any.
How do I get the Exchange Management Shell to register the Exchange Powershell commands? Do I need to uninstall Exchange and Re-Install?

Open Powershell as Administrator.
1. Add-Pssnapin *Setup*
2. Install-CannedRbacRoleAssignments -InvocationMode Install -verbose
3. Install-CannedRbacRoleAssignmentSRAP -InvocationMode Install -verbose
4. Install-CannedRbacRoles -InvocationMode Install -verbose

Newgrp command missing from Apple's implementation of x11

Hi,
Please excuse me if I've sent this to the wrong forum. I'm new to the Apple discussion groups.
It seems as if Apple has left the newgrp command out of their x11 implementation (this is not specific to hardware and I've seen this in both Tiger & Leopard). I have several groups established on my Macbook Pro and need to changed between them in my shell. Can someone tell me how to do this?

I don't usually use X11, but I do use the terminal a lot, and I just checked -
newgrp
works in both X11 and terminal

Aironet 1600 - A response was not received from the router or access point

Hi,
I'm trying to set up a wireless network with multiple SSID's. The new network only has CISCO products (router, switches). For the moment I'm trying to connect to 1 SSID (Windekind.Gast). the SSID is visible but when connecting devices have te folowing error message in the log:

The signal is perfect (I'm only a few feet away from the AP).
To make sure there is no dhcp problem I tested the swich port in access mode for vlan 30 which supplied an IP correctly. I'm really not seeing the problem and searched the web for days now! Any help would be very much appreciated!

thanks for the reply! 10.0.0.81 belongs to vlan 1. I changed the config as suggested but no luck.. (same problems are logged in the event viewer). the ap is connected to a switchport in trunk mode and vlan 1 is the native lan (untagged). the port also is joined to vlan 30 (and others).

Encapsulation dot1q any second any on me3600x

Hi,
we recieve a number of downstream hand-offs that are delivered as SVID/CVID ccts. There are mixture of data, and VOIP subscribers, the only way to tell the different type of subscribers is that the all voip services are marked as cos 4. All data subscribers are marked cos 0. I have no control over the SVID/CVID mix, and there is no "pattern" so I cannot enter ranges.
I am wanting to deliver each subscriber type to a different bridge-domain then use xconnect to forward these so ultimately i have one bridge-domain with VOIP services, and one with data services.
on the me3600x I tried the following:

This seemed to work with cos 4 traffic being sent to a differnet bridge-domain than other traffic, however when i try to apply this config to more than 4 interfaces (8 bridge-domain members) i get a "command rejected" error when i enter the "encapsulation dot1q" command. "Encapsulation deafult" is still accepted though.
can any one explain to me why there is this limitation, or if there is any way around it, or any other way to do what i am trying to do?

I replicated your setup in the lab and it appears the problematic line causing this interesting limitation is the “encapsulation dot1q any second-dot1q any” under the “service instance 950”
Since you are not really interested in the second tag value you can leave it out of the equation using just “encapsulation dot1q any” –to match any frame (not matching any more specific service instance rules) with at least one 802.1q tag or you can use “encapsulation default” –to match any frame (not matching any more specific service instance rules)

Encapsulation dot1q on WS-4418-GB

Hi all,
I have a 4006 (sup3) and a 4506 (Sup4) have WS-4118-GB with Gbics in each in slot6. They are are uplinked to another couple of switches by port 6/1,6/2 (portchannel ) encap dot1q and work fine.
But i cannot uplink ports 6/3,6/4 as the switchport port Trunk encapsulation dot1q command does not work ...
Port capabilities displays 802.1q is possible . Please help .
I am running IOS cat4000-i5s-mz.122-25.EW.bin on each swith.

Yes dot1q is supported on all 18 ports. ISL is supported on ports 1 and 2. You do not see "switchport port Trunk encapsulation dot1q" because ports 3-18 support only dot1q and there is no need to specify encapsulation.

Encapsulation dot1q is not working?, 2600 Cisco router

     I am trying to config a 2620 Cisco router to perform subintreface (F0/0.1) for Vlan Trunk Protocol, however when I try to configure the encapsulation dot1q, I continue to receive error massage with ^ symbol below the 'c' See below, the platform version is a 12.3(26) which should be acceptable to perform an (encapsulation dot1q). The Ethernet is a fast-Ethernet 10/100 port. I also try the ISL, I receive the same massage.
Can anyone suggest what could be the problem!!

It's possible your feature set it not good enough to run trunking.
Trunking apparently requires a minimum of the IP PLUS feature set according to this document

table 2 shows a minimum IOS of 12.0(1)T and IPPLUS/IPPLUS on the 2620 - so your IOS revision is OK, but maybe your feature set is not.
You can figure which feature set you have by going here

and entering your image name (assuming it's not been stuffed with) which you can find by doing "show flash" or "dir"
If you don;t have the right feature set, then you're out of luck unless you can upgrade/change the IOS image the router is booting with.

Photomerge command has gone missing from File Automate - menu

Was using Photomerge command successfully in PS and at some point later PS crashed and locked my Mac. I restarted and now the Photomerge command is missing from the File Menu. I asked Adobe support for help, they had me reinstall latest PS but it's still not there.
Is there anywhere in the PS Folders I can check for a file associated with this command (like there are for Scripts for example) and could possibly replace?
I also tried initiating the command from Lightroom with a set of images selected and using the relevant contextual menu and it produces an error saying Photoshop could not be launched (it is launch though).

Hi and thank you. Yes Photomerge.jsx is there in the scripts folder. Although when I go to launch other scripts from within PS using the File> Scripts… menu I get the following error:
Could not complete the Image Processor command because Photoshop was unable to find the JavaScript plug-in

Applying "route-map" in interfaces with encapsulation dot1q

Hello,
I would like to ask you if there were some trouble in applying route-maps in a interface and its subinterfaces, as it is shown:

We do not have much to work with in your post so giving you really good answers is difficult. You do not tell us what type of device this is (I assume probably a router, but perhaps it is a layer 3 switch?) or what version of code it is running. These things make a difference sometimes in what is supported or is not supported. But since you get output in show ip policy then I assume that the device does support configuration of this feature.
You show us the configuration of the interfaces but not the configuration of the route maps or the access lists which the route maps probably use. So we can not form an opinion of the validity of the route maps or the access lists.
And you do not tell us whether the Policy Based Routing is working or not (and in fact you do not tell us for sure that you are doing PBR - though that is generally what route maps on the interfaces are doing) so we are not clear whether there is a problem here or not.
But based on what you show us in this post I do not see any particular problems with the route maps and the way that you have applied them to interfaces (assuming that your goal is really to do PBR).

i have this problelm with 1721 ,i changed IOS many time but result is same ,if we want to enableISL or Vlan on a 1721 Router:
first we have to define a subinterface,then we have to define the encapculat
ion ,in this case we can make the subinterface but not the encapsulation,the
procedure is as follow:

here we have to define the "dot1q" encapsulation but the command is not avai
lable the router said
it is unrecognized command)
I upgrade the 1721 with c1700-sy7-mz.123-14.T3.bin image ( ip plus )ios
but the problem exists yet.'

SR520 - no ip name-server command missed

Hi all,
I'd like just notify the missing "no ip name-server" command in sr520 series router.
However is possible to enter the command "ip name-server" the only way to delete it
is to copy a modified config from tftp or other source to the startup-config.
Does anyone know if this behavior is normal?
In 800 series al work properly.
