Encode time log?

Hi all:
I am doing some benchmarking with Premiere Pro CS 5.5 and need to keep track of the encode times. Is there a place to look for a log, or some other option that will tell me how long the previous encode took?
Thanks!

Thank you both so much!
My biggest issue is that I exporting straight from within Premiere (Export > Media) rather than adding to the queue. This will make the benchmarking I need to do a lot less tedious :-)
Thanks again!

    hi experts,
please help me .how to create a report for time log on detail for each employees in SAP ABAP-HR report.please help me.
                                                      thank you

    Hi,
For Time Management Infotypes , If you want to read the data using macro you need to use the Macro called RP_READ_ALL_TIME_ITY
    Example:
DATA: BEGDA LIKE P2001-BEGDA, ENDDA LIKE P2001-ENDDA.
       INFOTYPES:  0000, 0001, 0002, ...
                         2001 MODE N, 2002 MODE N, ...
         GET PERNR.
       BEGDA = '19900101'. ENDDA = '19900131'.
       RP_READ_ALL_TIME_ITY BEGDA ENDDA.
       IF PNP-SW-AUTH-SKIPPED-RECORD NE '0'.
WRITE: / 'Authorization for time data missing'.
WRITE: / 'for personnel number', PERNR-PERNR. REJECT.
       ENDIF.

  • Video Encoding Time

My original video source is 1280x688, 2600 kbps bit rate and I wanted to convert it to Ipad maximum 1024x768 resolution. I used WinX HD Video Converter which has options to use ipad output.. It took 24 minutes just to convert 5 mins of the 90 minutes source... meaning, it would take over 7 hours just to convert a video source to ipad maximum resolution (lowering it would produce low quality video and you got an ipad to avail of its increased resolution). My output setting is 1000 kbps, video frame rate 29.97 and resolution 1024x768. Audio output is 128kbps, 44100 Hz. My computer is Core 2 duo 1.8 Ghz. How about you. What kind of computer do you use and how long is the encoding time? What settings do you use and most important.. what is the maximum video setting possible in the Ipad that can play it nicely or optimumly?

    I have a turbo264hd, use hadbrake, videomonkey.
If it's hi def, I go with the turbohd.
    Try setting to 960x540.
Good middle ground for high def stuff. You get no benefit on a 10" screen watching high def over a lower resolution with decent bit rate.

  • Processing Time Log PI 7.1

    Hi,
Where do we see step-by-step processing time logs taken by PI (PI 7.1) right from the Sender to the Receiver.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kris

you cant get this information in the Communication channel monitoring for example. there you will see the time that the outbound  message reach to PI and the time when the inbound message was sent to target system.
you can also enrich this information with the processing time in SXI_MONITOR toi check how much time does the server take to execute the pipelines.
also youcan refer in RWB to performance tab and get information about the execution of this escenario in a range of time.

  • Time logs and task lists

My previous all-in-on offered numerous forms, etc. to print from the printer. Now it seems that I must join the web center printing to get the same?? Is that correct?? My objection is to the contract, which seems to say that joining allows HP to use private information, to keep my faxes and to use contact information from same to advertise. IS THAT CORRECT???  Is that the only way I will now get the time log forms and the task lists, etc. that used to be available as part of buying this printer?

I have an HP Officejet 6700 Premium, which is a new one. On the earlier version, I could just print the forms from the printer itself, with out going through the process of signing for the web service - -to which I alluded in my question.
Also, this scanner is not as user-friendly as my first one on the review screen.  I didn't expect such changes to the same model.
anyway-- back to my original question. Like said, the model is 6700 Premium, which in general is a very nice unit.

  • Canon AVCHD 30p vs. 60i, encoding times?

I just picked up a new Canon HF-M41 video camera and am presented with the dilema of shooting in either 60i or 30p AVCHD. On this camera, the 30p is 'recorded' at 60i but saved as 30p.
I am literally stuck on the frame rate selection screen of the camera, not certain which frame rate I should go with.
I do most of my publishing to YouTube and to DVD. It seems like 30p would be a better format for me to work with natively on the camera, but I'm not sure how Premiere handles 30p from Canon. Since the video has been shot 60i and then wrapped as 30p, has anyone had enough experience with this to tell me if Premiere does a good job of handling this kind of video?
Alternatively, if I stick with 60i that will allow me to burn blu-ray video in the future. I definitely like that idea. But, if I take 60i video into premier, edit it, then encode it as 29.97 progressive for YouTube what kind of extra encoding time would I be looking at? Twice as long as it would take to encode 30p from the camera? What does THIS video look like? Would it look better or about the same as having done the same process with PF30 shot on the camera itself.
I'm sure many of you have already figured out the best frame rate (60i or PF30) on Canon camcorders when it comes to working in Premiere. If you have any advice please let me know.

I don't like the idea of locking myself out of future Blu-ray authoring (or needing a conversion to make it work).  If it were me, I'd stick to shooting HD at Blu-ray legal specs.  At 1080, that means 24p or 30i only.

  • Long encoding times for footage captured with BMD H.264 Pro Recorder

    Hi there,
I'm experiencing very long render times when encoding footage captured with the BMD H.264 Pro Recorder. Watching it encode (either through Premiere CS6, or AME) it looks like the encoding stops for periods of time. With other footage I can encode a 50 minute project in about 15-20 minutes, encoding with footage from the Pro Recorder is almost 1:1 in terms of project length/encode time.
The Pro Recorder uses QuickTime for H.264 captures, so don't know if that is causing issues. Don't seem to have the same issue with other H.264 formats.
    System Info:
    Windows 8 Enterprise (RTM)
HP Z820 with dual hexcore processors, 32GB RAM
Quadro 2000 plus Tesla for Maximus configuration
All latest updates have been installed (yesterday)
    MPE is enabled for project
Also tested on a Z800 with Windows 7 and got same results
Editing the footage is fast and playback through timeline looks great. Anyone have a suggestion?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

QuickTime is still a 32 bit process and the 64 bit PP has to use a sort of "band-aid" to make QuickTime files work right.  It's possible that might slow things down.

  • H.264 encoding time saver

I don't know if this has been discussed elsewhere, and I don't know if everyone reading this will go, "well duh!" but I discovered something last week that made a big difference in how long it takes my system to encode H.264 files.
I have a lot of clients who want their videos on YouTube, which is why I create a lot of H.264 files.  Usually, in my Media Encoder H.264 settings, I select the YouTube SD preset (all my video is SD), which works very well.  But by making a simple tweak to the preset values, I cut the encoding time in better than half.  The preset has a frame rate value of 30 FPS.  Changing that value to match my video (29.97 FPS) made all the difference in the world.
I have a 3:12 project that consists of simple cuts.  No transitions and no effects.  With the standard YouTube H.264 preset, this took 5:12 to encode.  By changing the frame rate to 29.97, the encoding only took 2:11!
    J. D.

thanks for info !  Usually it is kinda normal that the workflow is just like you said...your project settings match the video "source" material. and the export matches the project settings ( as much as possible, as of course some things change ( size of frame ...maybe you have to go to interlaced or progressive etc) ..but generally frame rate is kept the same....
once you get your settings good ( adjusting the default preset values ) you can then "save" that as your own new preset...customized...and then you dont have to keep changing it...you could label it MYH264-YOUTUBE-SD...or something ...

  • Adobe Media Encoder - Encoding Time Matrix?

Does someone have an encoding time matrix comparing the encoding times for various MPEG2-DVD presets. I know it depends on the source foot and CPU speed, but I am trying to determine relative ball park estimates. I am especially interested in how the quality setting effects encoding time. Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can create such a thing for the general populace. There are just too many variables.
You can take a 1 minute segment and export at various settings on your computer to get such a chart, but that will apply only to you with that material.

  • Having a hard time logging into Lion at my office

    Hi folks,
    I need some help here...
When I used to use Snow Leopard at work, I used to have a hard time logging into my iMac as a network user. If I logged in as an admin, the problem would go away. Knowing this, I made gave my network account admin privledges and all log-in issues for my account were solved.
    Now I use Lion...
My user account still has me as admin, but , once again, am having issues logging into the iMac. A small flag is displayed next to where I would enter my user name, saying that network is unavailable. I cannot enter my name or password. I can move my mouse, but I cannot type. I thought the error was with the wireless keyboard, so I tethered one and still had the same issue.
Powering down, unplugging, replugging, and prayer (haha) seem to be the fix, but I have to repeat this process three or four times in order to log in.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is? Is anyone else having this issue at their place of business? I don't have these issues at home on my Lion installed Mac.

    Thanks for responding!
The firewall is off, under my security settings.
As for built in security from my office network, I do not know.

  • ? Encoding time on Intel iMacs

Would appreciate any feedback on encoding times on the new Intel iMacs.
    Thanks

Well, it seems very fast to me. I'm burning a DVD right now, and a one-slide menu is taking it only about 2.5 minutes to complete. On my Powerbook G4, it seemed to take forever.
I have a one-minute iMovie project I'm burning to DVD and it encoded that one-minute file in about 1.5 minutes, so this gives you an idea it is very fast. No more waiting!

  • How to capture to minimize encoding time?

I'm capturing video from some old family VHS tapes before all of our VCRs die. I'd like to put the captured video on a playable DVD. My first one has been encoding for about 24 hours, which seems longer than it ought to be.
The video is coming in from a Canopus ADVC-100 converter box over FireWire into the Mac. I've been using QT Pro to capture.
Are there any capture settings or other methods that would give a significant reduction in iDVD encoding time?
    Thanks in advance!

You must be a very patient person...... But why not do what i did? .... since I had over fifty Mini DV, VHS, and SVHS T120 tapes to quickly burn to DVD-R. I bought one of these:
    DVD Recorder with Digital inputs
Went to Fry's Electronics here in San Marcos, CA and purchased a Daewoo DVR07 DVD-Player / Recorder (I think I paid under $80 after rebates) with FW inputs and connected the minidv camcorder directly to the recorder or VCR which then records in real time. No long waiting for encoding to take place. Does it on the fly complete with Menu, interval chapters, etc. which you set with the remote and it even records in sessions as opposed to write at once.
It's much faster and it actually looks pretty good (but it does not have all the fancy menus and higher quality / pro settings you'll find in iDvd'08).

  • Varying (lenghty) encoding times :(

    Hello
I have a question which has been annoying me for some time.
When I encode a given project in DVD Studio Pro (first choosing "build" then "format") I've experienced varying encoding times, from a couple of hours to 7 or even 9 hours for the exact same project and also using the same computer.
It is definately not fun for me, as a film student to sit at my school for an entire night, not knowing if my project will be finished in another hour or 4. And now I have experienced this on 3 projects altogether.
The DVD SP project consists of rougly 80 minuts material, in 10 tracks (subtitled in FCP and not plus chapters), and having 2 simple menu pages. the project fill ca. 4,4 GB in total.
On another note; I've noticed that the size of the FCP Quicktime files varies greatly in size, depending on if I choose "DV Pal Anamorphic" or "last setting" (or something) in the export to Quicktime window. Why is that so? Is theother setting a default setting or the previous setting which mysteriously compresses the files more??
On the computerscreen or a small television, I cannot see a difference in quality... And obviously a DVD SP project which has a smaller total size, takes shorter time to encode.
ANY help will be appreciated, it would be really great to know a way to keep the encoding times down to 3 hours or so
    Kind Regards!
    Natasha

If you are using DVD SP to build and encode the times can vary depedning on how you set the rates for the project to encode (if you changed them) whether some of the assets are already encoded (in other words there is background encoding going on or just on the build) and whether you have built the DVD before so some of the encoding for some of the sections may be done. Also where you have exported the movie to (internal drive, a seperate drive etc.) can also change the speed.
As an aside you are best off encoding outside of DVD SP and make the audio AC3. You can set up Compressor and get alot better idea of how long it takes to encode, and make sure the assets being encoded are not on the system drive and the target for encoding is also on another drive. Again depending on the settings in Compressor it can take a long time, especially with frame controls, but using some of the presets and/or not using the frame controls and it can be fast.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 to Encore encoding time.

Hi everyone, I have a move timeline, and its about 1h 30m long, and I'm just trying to burn it to disc to play in my DvD player. Currently it is an AVI file. I understand that to do this with Adobe, i have imported the AVI file to my timeline in Premiere Pro and then I must export to Encore, direct to disk, no menus. I've got all this working however the encoding time is enormous, 30+ hours, for such a simple movie should not be right, I was wondering if there are other faster options? Im running a 2.66 Ghz 1.5 gb Ram windows xp computer.

    > Currently it is an AVI file.
Why not put the AVI straight into Encore, bypassing Premiere altogether?
For 1h 30min a long encoding time is normal, your CPU is not the greatest which is why it takes long to encode.
Encoding is CPU intensive. Premiere CS3 takes advantage of more cores, trust me it works.
