ENCODER 2.5 Issue on XP

Using Live Media Encoder version 2.5 (also tried ver 3.0 with same result) running on XP via bootcamp on a Mac. On open looks good but as soon as I go and change ANY setting within it locks up/freezes the application and must close it down. Any one run into this that can help?
I am doing the same on another Mac (older) and do not have this issue. Have reviewed setting on the MAC and within XP etc to no avail.

Are you using the on-board camera or a dazzle or similar USB capture device?  If you're using an external video device, read on, if not, sorry, I have no advice.  I use pinnacle dazzle dvd recorder to get video into the mac, I had the same issue but finally figgered it out.  I went to the Pinnacle web site, downloaded and installed DVD Recorder 2.6.1 UPDATER for XP.  After installing, I went into the windows device manager and clicked on "device manager" in the Computer Management window.  From this dropdown menu, I clicked on 'Imaging devices' and disabled the USB Video Device.  This disables the built-in camera on the laptop (even though the icon appears to be a video camera).  Eliminating the on-board camera as the default allowed me to open media encoder and select the dazzle device and change all settings repeatedly without freezing.  Not exactly simple if you plan to use both dazzle and on-board camera, but it should work, it got me going.  I never use the on-board camera, so I haven't and will not change my settings, but I imagine you can disable and enable the on-board cam as often as you want.  Let me know how you make out!

  • Continuing font encoding and tag issues with snow leopard and CS4oI

I am looking for help with a font handling issue with snow leopard and cs4 Indesign. Despite numerous calls and hours on the phone neither Apple nor Adobe has been helpful. I have had this issue open with Adobe since oct 5 but they remain totally unresponsive to date. I need to be able to use Type 1 fonts and do the following , export a pdf from Indesign with the following attributes: 1) xml tags for stories and objects. 2) have the fonts encoded as ansi and embedded.
Some additional information  - exporting to ps is not an option as it destroys the xml tags. and doesn't guarantee that the fonts won't become CID or some other odd encoding.
    As it stands now,
Leopard (10.5.8) and CS3 creates ansi encoded fonts with xml tags.
Leopard (10.5.8) and CS4 creates ansi encoded fonts with xml tags.
Snow leopard and CS3 creates ansi encoded fonts and xml tags
Snow leopard and CS4 creates custom subsetted fonts and some xml tags.
If any one has any advice on how to force specific font encodings from CS4 pdf exports so that i can preserve the tags and get the correct fonts I would be grateful.

The font encoding is not a function of the OS version, but rather of how a font is internally encoded and the content you are representing with the font.
If you are seeing a difference between MacOS 10.5 and 10.6 with the same Adobe software, it probably has something to do with use of a system font that is somehow different from one version of the OS to another. InDesign does not use any of the OS' font handling software.
Assuming that the fonts are embedded, subset or not, what is your issue with whether a font is ANSI-encoded, custom-encoded, or CID-encoded? It should make no difference for purposes of workflow beyond InDesign for software that adheres to the PDF specification (including all versions of PDF from 1.3 and up to 1.7 plus ISO 32000-1 PDF and all versions of PDF/X and PDF/A).
Neither InDesign or any other Adobe application provides user choices for the encoding since it shouldn't make a difference. The encodings chosen by Adobe's core technology components are for a combination of optimization and to support proper text search, copy, etc.

  • Encoder quadrature Count issues

    Hello,
I'm interfacing a servo motor through an SCB-68 Board with an R series FPGA and my computer. I have a pulse generaton programme to control the stepper motor which works fine. I have hooked up the encoder and used the general example vi   "Quad ctr - R series.lvproj" with the inputs changed to my inputs on the board.
Now it seemed to work fine, but then I changed the direction of the servo motor. The pulse count does not rise the same when going counterclockwise as opposed to clockwise. I.e if i do one whole revolution both clockwise and counterclockwise i get a different amount of pulses outputted. Does anyone have any idea why this might be? I've tried the SCTL in simulation and the pulse count is fine if i manually change the A and B channels. Also, i've tried a dc motor with a different encoder and the same problem arises.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Sam

How much is it off by? Is it always a consistent number of pulses off? Just to verify it is the same channel you're reading correct, so there's no possibility its a phase issue since pulses are often out of phase on these encoders so you can determine direction.

  • Media Encoder cs4 install issue

    Hello everyone
i was trying to install master collection cs4 in a custom location. and after i finish install all package, it appears that the media encoder is missing.
As i tried to uninstall and reinstall it again, it cannot be installed still, so I was wondering if there has anyone who can help me with this?
    Thank you in advance.

Be advised that this installer bug caused another bug (in CS5--again, I'm not that familiar with CS4) where the updater kept reporting that a patch was available after it had already been installed. Here's the relevant thread, with a couple of workarounds: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3140115#3140115

  • HP PSC 1315 - Encoder Strip Assembly Issues

I am searching for help on assembling the encoder strip on my HP PSC 1315 printer.
My kid reached inside and pulled it out before I could even gasp...now i have a clear plastic strip, a metallic piece that seems to be floating and a printer that doesn't work.
I am mystified on how it assembles and where the 'threading across the sensor' has to be done etc...
Unable to find any pictures ...
Any and all help would be highly appreciated.

The page here may help, it shows some pictures (for a different model).

  • Encoded "From" header issue

    Hi,
I would like to know if there is any method in the JavaMail API to retrieve the only email address from an encoded "From" header without using, splits, regexs, etc.
    Example:
    Using aMimeMessage.getFrom()[0].toString() the output is +=?iso-8859-1?Q?Andr=E9_Silva?=<[email protected]>+;
    using MimeUtility.decode(aMimeMessage.getFrom()[0].toString()); the output is Andr&eacute; Silva<[email protected]>
    Wanted output: [email protected]

    Hi!
Create a new instance of object InternetAddress :
    System.out.println("\tFrom : " + new InternetAddress(mime_mess.getFrom()[0].toString()).getAddress());
    System.out.println("\tPersonnal : " + new InternetAddress(mime_mess.getFrom()[0].toString()).getPersonal());

  • OC4J 10.1.2.0.2 faces 1.1_02 encoding UTF-8 issue

    Hello all,
My problem occurs in oc4j 10.1.2.0.2 (Windows 2003, Romanian Locale...) with faces 1.1_02.
All tags text encoded UTF-8 doesn't rendered correctly it is encoded ISO-8859-1.
Simple JSP pages reders correctly UTF-8 characters but jsf (faces Ex. <h:outputText ...) did not.
    I've used <%@ page pageEncoding="UTF-8"%> and <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> without success
I've tried also to force to do this into a custom ServletFilter (response.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8")...) but without any results.
With oc4j 10.1.3 everything it is OK.
    Any remark will be appreciated,
    Thnk's

I found a way to do this in oc4j 10.1.2.0.2

         <% response.setContentType("text/html; charset=UTF-8"); %>

  • Live encoding Mac/USB issues

    Hello
I am trying to use Live encoder 3.2 on Mac OS to broadcast a mix from a large analog mixer.
Flash Media Live encoder does not recognise the USB output of the mixer.  Other apps do see the device and the OS sees it - I can see the sound meters in the Sound Control Panel (input) moving.
It a Behringer 802 USB mixer, taking a mix from a large Allen & Heath GL3300 40 channel.
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?
    thanks

  • Latest Media Encoder CC 7.2 fixes the transcode issue in Encore CS6

The latest version of Adobe Media Encoder prevents the issue of transcoding Blue-Ray files when importing them in Encore CS6 http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2013/12/adobe-media-encoder-cc-7-2-december-2013-updat e.html

This is very good news for CC users.
The PR update is also now announced:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5925060#5925060
The list of bug fixes does not mention this issue.
There have been some differences in how processing occurs between exporting from PR vs queuing to AME. Do we know that the export is fixed for either type of export?

  • UTF-8 Encoding errors during nightly batch runs

My boss recently tasked me with researching (and hopefully resolving) why our XML frequently has UTF-8 encoding errors.
I've been in the IS world for less than a year now so please bear with me when it comes to terms, data flow, etc.
    Overview:
Our Oracle DB spits out XML for the nightly batch runs into a file location, lets say C:\xPression\CustomerData\Certificate.xml. The XML is in Courier New font but some characters make their way into the XML but arent supported. The big one is the elongated ' - ' character. Just one instance of this and the entire XML fails.
When the batch job is run sometimes there are encoding errors (¿, ¡, -, etc) and every morning I have to come in, finding the invalid character, fix it and have the job re-run.
I want to know if there's a way so that the XML that comes out is always in the Courier New font, or is there a way to convert it.

I want to know if there's a way so that the XML that comes out is always in the Courier New font, or is there a way to convert it.
First thing first, an XML file is a text file, it doesn't have a "font" but an encoding.
The font is the graphical representation of characters and it is related to whatever client tool you're using to view the content, not to the content itself.
That being said, a lot of fonts do not support the full range of unicode characters so you may get replacement characters in some case.
We're missing some information to provide an answer :
    - what's the database version?
    - what's the character set of the database?
    - how are you generating and writing the XML to the file ? UTL_FILE, dbms_xslprocessor, dbms_xmldom?
If the file is generated using UTF-8 encoding then the issue might just be that you're not using an UTF-8-enable editor.

  • GPU Acceleration causes random frame in encode?

New Mac Pro (6 core, d500 cards, 32GB RAM, OSX10.9.4). Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014.0.1. Tested on two separate machines of the same configuration.
I have a just over 2 hour long 1080p ProRes file that I was encoding to MPEG2 for DVD. During QC of the disc, a random frame from another part of the movie was found in a spot about 39 minutes into the encode. The issue was in the encoded MPEG2 stream.
The client also wanted a lower resolution h264 proof of the video, and that was encoded on the same machine at a separate time. That had the same random frame at the exact same spot.
I encoded the preview h264 in just a few minute segment of the video around the glitch on the second Mac Pro. It showed up again. I used the same setting but turned off GPU Acceleration, and the frame is gone.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on here? Obviously there is a problem with GPU acceleration on the new Mac Pro's with Media Encoder, but what could be specifically causing it and what could be done to fix this? With all of the issues in Premiere and After Effects, some of which are being caused by software updates, and the issues with the one Mac Pro needing to be replaced due to bad video cards, I feel like there is just a ton of problems that didn't exist on our outdated Mac Pro with Final Cut Pro 7.
Please let me know of any ideas to make me not doubt every encode I do on these machines with GPU Acceleration turned on. Thanks.
    -Phil

Does anyone have any additional ideas on this? I heard from the CreativeCow forums that this has been a known bug with GPU Acceleration on the new Mac Pros. Is this the case? Has anyone else had this issue looked at by Adobe?
