Encoder optimized for mac intel?

Flash 8 video encoder on current mac machines with intel
processors seems 6 times slower than on a pc - it's not optimized
at all for mac intel.
Has anyone done perfomance tests with the new encoder? mac
intel for now is not mentioned anywhere on Flash CS3 product
pages.

I've just downloaded the flash cs3 trial to try out the new
encoder.
Although it looks like it is intel (you can use flv.component
with intel quicktime pro/final cut export) it is only using one
core.
I did a quick test of a 2 min 720p hd file and it took more
than 15 minutes to encode. CPU was only showing 1 core active, that
was on 2ghz core 2 duo. Ill try it later on a G5 but if its not
using the other cores I cant see it being much better.
I was hoping it would be faster, i've tried ffmpeg &
thats no better.
Anyone tried through parallels - is windows quicker?

Incredibly slow rendering in Media Encoder CS4 for Mac

We're having a strange problem trying to render a Premiere Pro CS4 project in Adobe Media Encoder . We're doing a 720p H.264 file that is about 35 minutes long. On my macbook pro laptop it took about 24 hours to render. As an aside, the same sequence and quality level in our previous editing method using avisynth and x264 only took about 2 hrs, but that's another story.
So, we figured we would bring in the big guns and render it on our 8-core mac pro desktop. Turns out it's estimating the render at 34 hours and the CPUs are 70% idle on average. So, what gives? What in the heck is wrong with Adobe Media Encoder that it is going even slower on our Mac Pro? We even copied all the files to our local 7200 RPM sata internal disc just in case the problem was due to a slow NAS device, but that didn't help it at all.
We've run all updates, so we're running on the latest version of the encoder.
Any ideas?

OK, here is an update. The original estimate for the single-disk setup was up to 75 hrs before we halted it. This is way slower than my laptop doing the same thing, so I think something is wrong.
We put in four separate 7200 RPM internal sata disks now: one for scratch files, one for video source #1, one for video source #2 (we have a sort of picture-in-picture thing going on on this video), and one for Premiere Pro to run from. Yet we're still seeing low CPU utilization and high time estimates.
Any ideas?

Media Encoder CS4 for Mac will not load

Hello!
Can someone please help me... I am on a mac book pro and trying to export a video from Premier Pro CS4.. Media Encoder CS4 refuses to load... I am using a trial version... is this the problem? I own Adobe Creative Suite CS4 and all is registered. I am just not sure what the problem can be...   I have also looked for the encoder trial version to re-install but cannot seem to find it.

I have the exact same error message...
can some1 please give a solution to this problem. Now i cannot export anything from premiere pro trial version because the Adobe Media Encoder keeps crashing with this message.

Adobe Media Encoder Update for Mac not working?

My Premiere says that there is an update available for the AME.
When i open the PatchInstaller it says: "This Patch is not suitable for you."
In a normal case AME is installed together with Adobe Premiere, isn't it?

The above comment has been true for stand alone installation of major releases. But when it comes to patch release, each product is on its own. Generally speaking, PPro and AME products release patches on the same day. There have been a few cases where PPro had a patch (like 7.2.1) and there was no AME corresponding patch.

What versions of PPro and AME do you currently have on your system?
What version does PatchInstaller wants to install on your system?
The latest released versions of PPro and AME patches are 7.2.2.

Premiere Pro CS3 for Mac timeline encoder application options

What options (Procoder-like) do I have for Mac Premiere Pro CS3 timeline encoding? Appreciate any application suggestions.

I understand that you get more options on the Win Platform. If your
looking for a specific option that you intend to use alot, then you will
certainly want to factor that in when you make your OS choice.
But just having lots of options in itself is not, in itself, a good
reason to base your choice on. The Mac platforms tend to be more
quicktime based, but your encoding options are varied allowing you to
create delivery formats for a range of end users, from tiny Ipod size
video to lossless formats that most any other platform will handle with
no difficulty. Of course you have the standard DVD export routines, and
you also have flash video export routines.
For import concerns, I have found a program called Visual Hub to be
quite useful in conversions. I've found it to be able to quickly convert
most everything I throw it at, specifically those xvid and divx file
that tend to be problematic for NLE's on both platforms.

How can I encode my film sequences, using OSX Mac version of Premiere Pro & Media Encoder? for WMV

Hello Everyone, I have a slight issue. I'm runnning CS6 Premiere Pro and adobe media encoder both on the Mac OSX system. I'm trying to encode or output my file as a WMV so it can be used using the Window media player on the PC windows. I can't find the option to do that. Strangely, I have seen this setting on the Window version of CS suite and can't understand why it has been excluded from the MAc version. Please can someone advise in some detail on how to encode the for WMV using the MAC version of the Creative Suite? Much appreciate. And no I don't know what losslessly compressed master means as mentioned in a previous forums. PLEASE HELP. THANKS GUYS.

You need a plugin called Flip4Mac to create a wmv on a Mac
It plugs in to Quicktime.
WMV is generally unavailable on MAcs cos its a Windows thing ( Windows Media Video)
just like PorRes is not available generally on a Windows system.
