Encoding fails with RGB Curves after update.

I'm trying to finish a project, but Premiere is gving me troubles..
I'm uisng Creative Cloud and I saw that there was a update for Premiere and i thought: "Why not, it can't hurt..", but boy was I wrong!
Before the update I could play and export my sequence without any problems (except laggy Playback), but after the update Premier wouldn't play the sequences (only audio) and when I tried to render previews I got an generic error.
After some investigation I found that there could be a problem with RGB Curves, and sure enough, after disabling the RGB Curve-effects on the Clips it worked fine!
I also found that it should work fine with GPU acceleration enabled, so I activated it. Now my project played fine in PP (with RGB Curves), and thanks to the GPU it didn't laily
Happily I started the export and went for a walk, but when I got back the exports had stopped and there was an generic error!
So, apparentely the exporter(/media encoder) doesn't use the GPU (*sadface*) and so is affected by this weird bug.
What should I do now??
I use RGB Curve for color correction and grading through the whole sequence, so I guess I need to find another effect that gives me the same result..
Windows 8 64bit

I generally try to be careful with updates, and I should have known better (especially than update in the middle of a project). But given it was a minor update and that minor updates is supposed to fix bugs (and not introduce new features/bugs..) I thought it would be safe.. But it's a weird bug (that couldn't have been fixed by replacing the RGB Curve effect file with an older version!?) and even weirder is that the text I read was for CS5.5..
Luckily I had also installed PP on my laptop, so I just copied the program files from the laptop to my workstation and I could carry on and finnish the project.
The thing about waiting with updates of this kind is that you don't get the bug fixes. It's one thing to wait before you jump on the next big update (like CS5.5 to CS6 etc) and another to install "bug fix updates".
There is no real "infancy period" for minor updates, they do not mature, there is one update, if that update introduces a bug, then that's fixed by the next update etc etc.
In the end, you don't gain that much by waiting to do minor updates (albeit you should avoid it during a project), since minor updates should fix the bugs that your software currently has and you could, theoritically, just end up with more problems when you do decide to do that update.
One solution could be to never update, but then you're stuck with the original bugs..
The best thing to do is to do a backup before updating (and I should've done that..).
What would've happened if I decided to install Premiere Pro a week later?? Then I probably would've gotten the latest version with the update and so the bug!?

As i mentioned, my Sony A7 failed to turn on after updating firmware 2.00. It just appear a blank screen after click the finished button on the updating app on Mac. I waited for more than an hour and there is still no thing happened.

I bought the Sony A7II a few days ago.  It initially charged just fine, but today I tried to charge it using the cable with an electrical outlet as well as the USB to computer.  Neither one would get the charge light to illuminate.  Not feeling the love Sony.  I just purchased a Flash, wrist belt, filters, etc...  I'm definitely not happy.  It seems this is a problem!

I have a problem in my iphone 4 with wi-fi after update to IOS6 please can help my how can solve this problem?

    Nope
One needs to press the home and sleep / wake keys together for the phone to reset
The other thing I could recommend
Let the battery run out and the phone completely "die"
It may take a day or two with it not being used
Then plug it in to charge and see if there is any change in behavior
If you cannot get this to work - you may need to bring it to an Apple store

fair enough.  No need for any unnecessary posts either.  You issue had been addressed ad nauseum already in this forum had you bothered to search this forum (as forum etiquette would dictate) before posting.
In any case, I hope that your problem was solved.

  • Multiseat with Lightdm broken after updating Mesa

    Hi,
I've been using a multiseat configuration for months now, and it was working almost perfectly (almost - multiseating is far from being really stable yet IMHO, but anyway).
I updated mesa-libgl a few days ago and confirmed packages replacement, but right after rebooting my second seat didn't work anymore. The display stays black and no login screen shows up, although I suppose a signal is still sent as the monitor doesn't go into sleep mode. The first seat on the other side is working as usual, no difference noted.
In the processes, I can only see one Xorg instance (used by the first seat), when I'm supposed to have tow instances, one for each seat and with different parameters. It's like the second seat is crashing, but I can see no trace of such crash in the logs (kernel.log or everything.log). Even the Xorg.1.log contains all the informations as if the display was running fine.
The day after updating Mesa, I also updated Lightdm but it didn't change anything (I had a brief hope for a moment).
My configuration is the following :
        - Nvidia GTX 760: used on seat0 as dual-head with Nouveau driver (Layout-Main in Xorg)
        - Intel GMA: used on seat1 on single-head with Intel driver (Layout-Aux in Xorg)
I'm using Lightdm with this configuration:
    [LightDM]
    minimum-vt=1
    run-directory=/run/lightdm
    [SeatDefaults]
    greeter-session=lightdm-gtk-greeter
    greeter-show-manual-login=true
    session-wrapper=/etc/lightdm/Xsession
    greeter-setup-script=/usr/bin/numlockx on
    [Seat:0]
    xserver-command=/usr/bin/X :0 -sharevts
    xserver-layout=Layout-Main
    [Seat:1]
    xserver-command=/usr/bin/X :1 -sharevts -novtswitch
    xserver-layout=Layout-Aux
The Xorg configuration for the seats is divided into two files:

When I disable the primary seat configuration in Xorg files (I just prevent the file from being loaded), and after I restart Lightm via
    # systemctl restart lightdm
the display shows up correctly on the secondary seat (and not on the primary, which is logical so far). So in the end it seems I just cannot have both seat running at the same time, but individually they work fine.
My logical assumption is that the recent upgrade of the Mesa packages somehow broke this configuration, but I cannot find why and how.
    FYI, here's what I tried:
    - play with Intel drivers options in Xorg (NoAccel, DRI, ...)
    - play with Xorg options on the command line of each seat (-sharevts, -novtswitch)
    - switch to Nvidia proprietary drivers (but here also, only the primary seat works, but that may be for a totally different reason, which is why I used Nouveau ever since I set up this configuration)

  • Flickering Issue with RGB Curves in Adobe Premiere CC (2014) version

I've been an Adobe Premiere user since Premiere 6.5 and have never encountered any serious issues with the software. However in this most recent Creative Cloud update I am have a flickering issue when using RGB Curves, the color correction effect I use most often. When the effect is applied, there seems to be a shift in the shadows between a "crushed" black and a "flat, or faded" black every other frame. I've been using this latest update for about a week and haven't had any other issues aside from this one.
Unfortunately this is huge issue at the moment due to a deadline I am facing in which RGB Curves has been used as the primary color correction tool on the entire project (multiple episodes). I would simply revert to a previous version of CC but I know that the new updates are never backwards compatible. Since the project has been saved in the CC (2014) update, reverting to previous software versions would be impossible. I am currently exploring exporting the XML from the CC (2014) projects and importing it into a previous version of the software.
Please let me know if anyone out there is experiencing any similar issues or if there are any suggestions on how to solve this issue. Thanks!

I am experiencing flickering issues as well. However my issues are with the Fast Color Corrector and the Three Way Color Corrector. It seems as if the color correction tools are causing intermittent flickering on some people's systems.
Additionally when I converted some old PPCC 7.2.2 projects which had the Three Way Color Corrector applied, some clips in sequences would come up as a green screen in the program monitor. If I turned the TWCC off the footage would display correctly in the program window. If I turn the TWCC back on it would display the green screen again.
I haven't found a solution to the flickering but to solve the green screen issue I have to remove the effect, then re apply it. I guess for whatever reason, the 2014 version of PP has issues with 7.2.2 projects where the TWCC was applied.
I'm hoping Adobe will address this soon with an update for the various bugs that have been reported.

  • Azure Backup fails with error 0x003E6 after data transmission (Protection Agent Failure)

On a Windows Essentials 2012 Server (German) I had Azure Backup up and running for several months.
(Probably) After adding features to support Remote Access, Azure Backup stopped working.
The backup schedule executes and transfers all data, than it constantly fails with the error:
"Fehler beim Vorgang aufgrund eines Schutz-Agent-Fehlers. Wiederholen Sie den Vorgang (0x003E6)" which translates to the english "The operation failed because of a protection agent failure. Retry the operation (0x003E6)".
An update of the Backup Agent to the latest version did not resolve the issue.
Does anybody know details about this error and the reason behind it?
    Regards,
    Dominik

    Hi Dominik,
First please check if there is any new policy was set such as a throttle for uploading data, or a firewall was enabled before the issue occurs.
There is no enough information for finding out the exact cause. Please also check if there is any error and event logs. These can be found in the Application Event log under WindowsAzureBackup.
Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and un-mark them if they provide no help. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, contact [email protected]

  • Trouble with internet connection after update to Snow Leopard

Happily surfing the internet with the most recent update of Tiger until deciding to upgrade to Snow Leopard so that I could connect to a wireless printer. Noticed almost immediately that Safari was spotty, sometime normal, but often painfully slow. Have checked forums that suggest dumping caches, reseting Safari, repairing permissions, doing fresh install of SL. Nothing has worked. Can't even get internet with Firefox. Internet connection seems to work after I start up, but then fails after 5-10 minutes. Most of the time it doesn't work at all. Doesn't seem to be a problem limited to Safari since Firefox won't work either. Phone support tried saying that SL likes a WPA router connection and not WEP, which is the current setup.
Finally, I decided to boot to my clone of Tiger. After a little bit of fussing around setting up the internet connection over Airport everything works just fine! What's wrong with SL and how can I fix it. Really like the iLife11 upgrade and being able to print wirelessly, but if I can't get internet access that makes it rather pointless. Know this is a lot and rather hastily written, but please help!

    Hello
Sorry, I have no answer to your problem. I just want to share that I amexeprience similar issues with my iMac since I upgraded to Snow leopard :
The LAN connection of the iMac slows down after accessing Internet, usually less that one hour. I can measure it through an Internet throughput utility on my provider's home page.
I have two Macs connected on the same DSL box, with the same OS version, Snow leopard, and nearly the same sofwtare configuration. Thus I can compare the Internet access speed :
After starting the computers, it is above 12 Mb/s.
On the iMac that I use most for Internet, it slow down to more or less 2 Mb/s after a few minutes, whereas it stays at 12 Mb/s on the MacMini.
Because of this, I believe it is LAN problem, not an Internet/DSL problem.
The same phenomenon happens if I connect to my DSL/Router with Ethernet or with Airport. The speed drops to similar values, below 3 Mb/s. Thus, the problem dose not seem to be related to LAN connection hardware.
Curiously, the speed is high again after shutting down and restaring the iMac. But it slows down again after a few minutes. Putting the computer to sleep does not help to restore maximal speed: it has to be shut down.
From all this, I draw the conclusion that the problem lies in a LAN software layer that is common to Ethernet and Airport and that is restarted only after shutdown.
I am using the MacMini as a reference for Internet access performance, in order to have a benchmark for iMac performance. I hav enot tried yet if the LAN performance of the MacMini collapses in a similar way if I use it to surf on the net.
I hope this will be helpfull do draw some attention from experts at Apple. It looks like a bug in a Snow Leopard LAN software layer.
