Encoding on another machine?

Hi
I have Adobe Production Premium CS4 on my laptop and it's fine for the editing that I do. But actual encoding takes eons. Is there any way that I can export the project to encode on my PC (Which does not have CS4 on it at all)?
Also, if I can't do that, can I close the premiere application while it's encoding? Or won't this make a difference?

I mean I have never run the media encoder by itself, only as a module started by Premiere
You can't stop Premiere and have anything happen
I **think** you may run the media encoder by itself, outside Premiere, but I have never done so... hence the advice to read the user guide

Send a render job to Media Encoder on another system?

I am a recovering Final Cut Pro user. Switched over about version FCP X 10.3. The railroad tie that broke the camel's back for me was a removed feature I am hoping I can do with Premiere in some way.
In FCP 7 and even FCP X up to 10.3, you had the option of sending a render job to their version of Media Encoder (Called "compressor") just like Premiere Pro can do now. However, you had the option of being able to use a "render cluster" by where if compressor was loaded onto other macs on your network, it would send the job out to one of those nodes or even split it up and send parts of it to several computers to parallel encode the job. Made large jobs faster and allowed you to not have to bog down your processors on you main computer with a render job. Apple just took it out with 10.4, which was a deal breaker for me.
I know Premiere/Media Encoder does not have the ability to split the job up, but was wondering if there as a way I could send a render job to Queue up on the Media Encoder of another system...say my Mac mini server which also has Media Encoder on it. Is there any way to select the path to the Media Encoder and thus have it deploy the render job to the other machine?

You can export a Sequence on another machine on your network, if that's what you want to do.
You can save your Sequence on your A machine, then import the sequence to AME on your B machine, and export away.
I do this myself. I allows me to keep working on my A machine at more or less full speed while my B machine is cranking out review movies or whatever. There's a little network overhead, but not enough that I notice.
Just click the + icon in AME on your B machine, and navigate to your project and sequence on your network.

WCF TCPBinding not working on another machine

When I run both the service and client on same machine it work but If I move service(console host) to another machine it does not work. although I am setting below property

What error do you meet after you move your service to another machine?
In your service config file, you have used the following address:

Then in your client config file, you have used the following address:

The sevice and client address are different, please try to use the same endpoint address as your service endpoint.
Besides, by default the netTcpBinding will use the Windows Authentication, please make sure that your service and client are in the same domain or a trusted domain.

After upgrade to 10.10, can't send email (SMTP cert. error). On previous version running on another machine, can still send find. This new version is missing the "Usual Ports" checkbox option. Can someone please help?

I just upgraded to 10.10. On the mail program, one of my accounts is having an issue sending email. I am getting the following error message:
The certificate for this server is invalid.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent.
But on another machine running Mavericks, I can still continue to send email. The same is try from my iPhone 5S.
On that machine running Mavericks the SMTP is configured as SSL and for "Usual Ports" (25, 465, 587) but THIS OPTION IS MISSING ON THE NEW VERSION. On the new version I have tried configuring the port to 25 and then 465 and 587 with no success. I have used the Network Utility to see if my provider is blocking me -- it is not. I have no third-party software on this machine (anti virus). I can receive email fine. On the new Yosemitie Mail there are new checkbox options of Automatically check my settings and Allow unsecure connections. I tried to uncheck SSL for SMTP but then it says it cannot send securely my passowrd and i need to check the option "Allow to send unsecurely". I did that but the same error message keeps appearing. So I have tried nearly everything I have been able to, all to no avail. Please can somebody help?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it is a POP account. Incoming mail is fine. My port for incoming is also 110. But the outgoing port should be 587 (or 24, 465 and 587 as on Mavericks' "Usual Ports" option). I am using the same configuration across three different devices and only the machine running Yosemite is having issues. I notice in the new version of Mail there is no longer the "Usual Ports" option. I am not sure this is the culprit or not. But the fact is no matter how I configure it, it will not send mail for these particular servers. I have multiple clients and only one is affected, meaning I can send email from other email addresses (different hosting contracts) on Yosemite but on this one particular one I cannot.

I'm setting up a laptop and want to have all the bookmarks from my desk machine to be moved there from different accounts, but in end up in one file so that I don't have to have loads of separate accounts.

You need to combine all the links to one HTML file.
You only need a file with Anchor links like this:

If you export bookmarks to an HTML file then you create a copy of your bookmarks and you edit that copy and you do not affect the original bookmarks.

Actually we are not mapping machine name something in webutil.cfg file. We just need to specify the path that from where we will transfer the file from application server to client. And the time time of transfer the path you will
choose for client webutil will transfer the file on that location automatically.

I have built my program using the much maligned Borland JBuilder, so being quite proud of my new programe i want to run it on other machines, ie i want to put it on a cd and distribute it.!! So how do i do this, i understand that another machine will have JVM installed however is there somthing similar to .exe. Appreciate this may have been covered before but i think i may be confusing myself.. which aint hard

exes? What for? How do you run an exe under UNIX?Something you may very well have to do is grant execute permission on the executable file that was thus created. UNIX and Linux do not automatically grant execute privileges on files the way Winblows does.

How to copy and paste the solution files of SharePoint 2010 from one machine to another machine?

I was working with SharePoint 2010 in one of my Virtual machines.Now that the lease for my Virtual Machine is going to expire, I want to shift the entire contents of the project to another machine (local) with SharePoint 2010. Also, I want the pages
in the other machine to be editable.
How can I copy the solution files to the other machine? And I want the exact path where the files are located, so that I can shift them to the other machine.

...that's not a good approach.
Deploying customisations can be as simple as files being copied onto the file system. Most of the time however there is a lot more happening behind the scenes and simply copying the files won't work.
Also that is assuming that you mean solutions rather than the pages themselves (or the contents of document libraries) in which case you want to copy databases, not just files.
SharePoint isn't a simple thing to move, you may need to look at this a bit harder.

Not able to connect linux database instance in another machine

I have installed oracle 10g database server in Linux, and i created one database instance. and i have added tns entry and listener entry.
I am to connect the database on that machine. but not in different machine. i am able to access/ping linux machine in another machine also.
while creating tns entry for linux database instance in another machine using "netca" i am getting this error.
Connecting...ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error

I verified listener and tns entry ( i think for this listener configuration is enough) also. and database is up.

yes i tried to connect with ORACLE_SID, its successful. and using tnsname like you said.
Instead of using netca to create the tnsnames.ora entry on the second server, copy the tnsnames.ora entry from the DB server. Then use tnsping to test connection :-i done above but not able to ping the tns name, i am getting this error.

Can't import photos from another machine???

I have downloaded a few albums on another machine and then brought a copy home to put on my iPhoto library but every time I try to import I get an error message saying:
'+The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data).+'
All the images are in Jpeg format!

they are in my iPhoto Library
How did they get there? iPhoto will not import pics from the active iPhoto Library Folder - a protection against duplication. There is never a need for the user to enter that folder and anytime you do you risk damaging your Library.

Opening an Image in Photoshop on Another Machine

I have a weird workflow issue. I'd like to be able to send a file so that it opened in Photoshop on another machine and then, when saved, would be returned to the Aperture database.
I figured out a way to open the file remotely using smart folders and automator, but then the file has to be manually imported back into Aperture.
We have a special retouching Mac dedicated to Photoshop which uses a Wacom Cintiq. Any ideas? Thanks.

I actually figured out that just changing the resolution of the screen fixed the problem. The screen resolution had to be different from what it was. Both lowering and raising it fixed the problem. Strange.
